The exciting tag team rivalry between these two teams comes to a head, as the champions defend against their top contenders from the beginning, in the most exciting of all matches, a ladder match.

This thread is to be used by those in this match only.

Deadline is Monday 21st September July 2009 at 23:59EST

Fade into a camera shot panning over an empty arena. There are ladders set up all over the place, in the ring, on the stage, up the ramp and in the stands. Two figures are standing on the stage looking out.

We go to a different camera right in front of the FHD standing on the stage looking out at the arena and ladders. They are both wearing the new FHD style hoodies and have their championship belts around their waists.

Ace: Well, this is going to be interesting.

Dave laughs and lowers his hood.

Dave: Interesting is an understatement Ace. This is the biggest match of our career.

Ace lowers his hood and begins walking around the ladders down to the ring with Dave. They continue their conversation whilst circling and testing the ladders.

Ace: You know, I was so caught up in the Elite X championship I almost forgot we still have to deal with the Second Coming at All or Nothing. I mean, I honestly thought one of us would become the Elite X champion.

Dave: Well, we tried and almost had it but we really need to focus on this Ladder Match against Black and Phoenix. It’s going to be a brutal match that may end careers. If we do this right, which we will, the Second Coming will be out of the WZCW by the end of the night.

Ace and Dave now reach the ring and climb inside and start circling the ladders set up in the ring.

Ace: You know Dave, all this steel and metal is quite nice. I think I’m actually going to enjoy this. Think about it, the tag team championships have never been defended in this type of a match and it’s only the 2nd ladder match in WZCW history. We have the chance to further cement our names in the history books and at the same time we can end this rivalry with Second Coming and move onto bigger and better things.

Dave: I know, I’m getting pumped for this Ace. We have already proven our worth in this company and now we get to show everyone why we are the best. This match is going to solidify us as the rightful champions in this company.

Ace and Dave begin to climb opposite sides of the centre ladder in the ring. They reach the top and smile out at the arena.

Dave: In little over a few hours our titles will be hanging from this rope above the ring with only one way to retrieve them and that is to climb one of these ladders before the Second Coming, doesn’t seem to hard to me.

Ace: Nor me, we have this in the bag Dave. No worries, no stress, Just anticipation and excitement.

Ace and Dave hang their belts from the rope and climb down the ladder. They both look up at their suspended belts swaying slightly in the light that is focused on the championships.

Ace: Well, one way or another history is going to be made tonight. There’s no turning back from the path that is set for us now. The one we have started. It only reads as a path to glory, a path to dominance. Tonight will certainly be more than about gold when it’s all over. It’s about making a complete impact and sending a clear message.

Dave: We’ll send that message Ace, clear and perfect.

Ace: Ok Dave, time to get back to the locker room and prepare for this match.

Dave: Sure, I’ve got some last minute things to arrange too if you know what I mean.

Ace smiles a wry smile and taps his nose hinting at something in particular.

Ace: Nice, I get what you’re saying. Well, let’s get out of here and prepare. We have our tag titles to retrieve and we better be rested and ready.

With that the 2 turn and head back up the ramp. When they reach the top of the ramp they turn back to the empty arena and look out at the stands and where the fans will eventually be. Ace turns to Dave and smiles.

Ace: One last thing.

Ace goes to the nearest ladder on the side of the stage and climbs to the top. He looks down and Dave nods in agreement with what Ace is about to do.
Ace then pulls from his pocket a remote and points it towards the ring. He presses the button and hundreds of small pieces of paper fall into the ring. We can’t really see what they are at first until a camera close to the ring catch’s hundreds of cards floating down from above. They are all ace’s.
Dave laughs as Ace jumps down from the ladder smiling.

Dave: Haven’t seen those in a while. Well, that should leave a clear message that we’re deadly serious about this ladder match and the Second Coming had better be ready.

Ace pats Dave on the shoulder and they turn to go inside with Ace’s arm around Big Dave’s shoulder.

Ace: Well, just don’t chicken out ok.

Ace laughs and Dave slaps him across the back of the head.

Dave: I’m never going to live that down huh?

Ace: Never Dave, never.

At this point they both round the corner and disappear behind the set. The camera pans across the empty arena one last time and focus’s on the titles hanging above the ring.

Garth Black is in a training gym, talking to Annabel. There is ring ropes set up in a square on the floor behind them, with a ladder in the middle of the ring. Jonny Klamor appears in the room.

Could I have a few minutes to talk about your match at the upcoming PPV?

I don't see why not, go ahead.

Right, well you find yourself pitted against the Daves in a ladder match, a match you've never fought in before, does that worry you?

No, because I am a wrestling chamaleon and I can change and adapt. That being said, the ladder has been around for 10,000 years, and I have climbed a few in my lifetime, and I have been in many, many wrestling matches as it is my job, so it won't be that foreign an environment to me, to be perfectly honest.

We haven't seen you much with Phoenix over the past few weeks, why do you think that might be?

I have no idea, but I think its because the powers that be are afraid. They are afraid that the Second Coming will get too powerful and will overthrow them. They're right, the better we get, the more powerful we become, the less room there will be for the liars that plague this company.

I am sick to death of being pushed around by these people, and neither I nor Phoenix will stand for it any longer. The Daves will find themselves being made an example of, we're not going to beat them, we're going to embarrass them, humiliate them, we're going to knock them down till they can't get back up. Big Dave will be made to feel as small as your genitalia on a bitter November day, Mr Klamor, and Ace David, well lets just say that his luck has ran out. The ace of spades won't mean anything when I hit you with a club, and Phoenix hits you with a spade, and I'm not talking metaphorically. While we remain as hard as diamonds and the new Tag Team Champions while you nurse your broken heart.

Calm down, Garth

I AM CALM!

You see, Klamor, this ladder match is more than just a simple matter of who is better at climbing. We already know that me and Phoenix are, after all I don't think Big Dave is about as quick as you are to the salad bar, and I don't think he has the cognative ability to put one foot after another and climb. As for Ace, well he's much like Becky Serra's underwear. Very good at falling down, not so good at staying up. Or smelling fresh, but I digress. What I mean is that I expect Ace to climb the ladder at least once during the match. I also expect him to be thrown off it, quite spectacularly. Then your colleagues will talk of the sacrifices that will be made in this match.

You know that for a fact, do you?

Yes, I do, because you are predictible. If you were genuinely good journalists and broadcasters, you wouldn't be working here now would you? But you know what, for once the WZCW announcers will have it right, there will be sacrifices made for the cause, and the Daves are lambs to the slaughter.

We are the resurrection and we are the light of this business, but for a resurrection, there has to be a death, and unfortunately for the Dave's, its not going to be me or Phoenix. I have nothing else to say on the matter, so if you don't mind Jonny, I'd like to prepare.

Ok, and thanks for your clarity, as always.

Klamour leaves

Why are you so errm aggressive?

You have to be with these people, they are too stupid to understand rational thought. There are only two people that aren't beneath me in this compant, yourself and Phoenix, and I don't waste my time on niceties to anyone else.

But the other week you seemed so nice to whashisname, that pirate fella.

A matter of necessity, if I wasn't nice around him, we'd never have worked as a team.

Right. Are you really so chonfident about the match?

Of course I am! You need a little intelligence to win a ladder match, a little strategy, you can't rely on brute force or dumb luck like the Daves have for so long and that is why Phoenix and I will win.

I've been practicing the Black Death on a ladder, and my speed, there's no way that we'll lose. That's why that ring is here, so I can practice. Don't worry about us losing, because we won't

I'm worried about you, not you losin'.

I'll be fine! Look I'll show you.

Garth gives Annabel a stopwatch

Look, after a high impact move, which the Second Coming have in abundance, wrestlers take 13 seconds to get back up. Start the watch.

Black springboards off the ropes onto the ladder, he scuttles up to the top and raises his arms in the air.

How long was that?

Err, 12.9 sechonds.

See, I'll win before they are up. Easy.

Ok, I'll errr leave you to do more prachtice.

Annabel leaves as we see Black continue to train in the background.

We open on Becky Serra standing in front of an All or Nothing board.

Becky: Standing with me at this time, ladies and gentleman, it’s the WZCW Tag Team Champions, the Full House Daves.

The camera backs off to show the FHD in their new hoodies and without their belts

Now Daves, you have given over your tag titles earlier for this Ladder match tonight, the first ever in WZCW to involve tag teams, how does it feel to…

Big Dave holds his hand up, signaling her to stop. He then gestures his hand towards Ace

Ace: How we feel? Becky, can I ask one thing? Have you ever seen a ladder match before?

Well, yes…

How many exactly?

Just the one, the only one we’ve ever had

Then what we feel is excited, because we will now forge another step in the history of the WZCW with the ladder match making a return for it's second time

Big Dave: With the combination of the greatest tag team in WZCW history, Phoenix, Arizona will be known as the place where the greatest ladder match ever took place. We have descended from our immortal realm for tonight to show why mere second rated mortals don’t live on Mount Olympus. Where tonight is our Ascension and Second Coming is only heading for a Meltdown!

And this will spell the end of their pointless effort to even try and touch our gold. They will no longer be second rate, they will no longer be coming, they will be gone! They can rant and rave about how much they want to compare their testicles with each other and how much they want to get into your underwear, but it doesn't change the fact that while Phoenix rose once, he won't rise again and Garth Black? Well he can wear his graduation outfit all day, but after tonight, the ladder will gain his excuse for brain cells as part of its decoration

But don’t let us spoil everything. Here’s a little something we made earlier

Ace takes out the remote control from earlier and pushes a button which makes the screen goes fuzzy, eventually the picture clears up on a ladder, lit up by a spotlight. It fades away

A strange logo pops up

The feed cuts out and fades back to the FHD and Becky

So you see Becky, we have enough prove to show we can beat our opponents. But the best part about this match, nothing is going to hold us back. We were dangerous with rules, so how violent do you think we’re going to be without them?

Tonight, history will be made, that is a promise. Our future and time has come, we will rise beyond anything we have done before tonight and cement ourselves completely as the true greats of WZCW. Second Coming have got their second and final chance. Let’s now show why they are Second Rate!

Ace and Dave walk off as they pass a guy with a wheelbarrow full of Ace of Spades who shakes his head at them

Well, it’s not 52 pick up at least!

They both laugh as they walk out of the shot.

*The following are excerpts from the journal of Phoenix. These excerpts begin the day before All or Nothing*

8:00 a.m. - Couldn't sleep last night, had that same dream. But what does it mean? I just need to forget about it. It's not like I believe in that kind of stuff anyway.

10:00 a.m. - Checked wrestling website I look at now and then. Had a poll up about the match tomorrow, but only half thought we would win. I can't wait to prove those people wrong.

3:00 p.m. - Checking my voicemail. Had a message from Becky wanting an interview. Don't really feel like talking to anyone...

7:00 p.m. - Call from Garth. I had just finished dinner, so I was in a good mood. We discussed strategy for tomorrow, and I think it went well. He sounded very confident, and I think I do too. I just hope those dreams aren't a prophecy.

11:30 p.m. - Almost time for bed. Check that poll one more time, we are now winning by one vote. Hoping for sleep. I stared at the sleeping pills and alcohol in the kitchen for 10 minutes earlier. I don't know if I can stay away if we lose again.

The Day of All or Nothing

3:00 a.m. - Woke up from the same dream again. I've never had the same dream over and over like this. Every time, I climb to the top of the ladder, have the belts in my hand, and then I fall. It can't happen like that. IT JUST CAN'T

10:00 a.m. - Finally got some sleep. Butterflies starting already. About to start visualization exercises for tonight.

1:00 p.m. - Visualization went well. Leaving for the arena. I think I am over that dream, and ready to go become a tag team champion!

The scene opens with Becky Serra standing next to Phoenix. His face paint is gold, with a little bit of scarlet scattered about, to match his pants.

Phoenix, do you have any thoughts before you head out to your ladder match against the Full House Daves in a ladder match for the Tag Team Titles?

It's been rough waiting for this match. I've had trouble sleeping, I've had weird dreams, and, for the first time since I debuted, I'm nervous. Ladder matches are no laughing matter. Add in the fact that we don't like the Daves, and they don't like us, plus the belts being on the line, and you have a recipe for disaster. All I know is that whoever leaves here champion earned it.

You mentioned how dangerous this match is. Are you worried about getting hurt?

Phoenix gives a creepy smile before answering.

Part of my training for this match has been overcoming the nervousness I was feeling. The second you worry about losing or getting hurt is when you become that much more likely to lose or get hurt. You can look back at any ladder match, and see guys getting hurt. But what I know is that I will be much less sore tomorrow if I have one of those tag teams belts to keep me company.

I plan on going out there and leaving everything I have in that ring. Losing does a number on me, Becky, and I don't know if I have a strong enough will to stand losing one more time. I expect to go out there and take the Daves past their limit, and to walk, crawl, or get dragged out of here as a WZCW Tag Team Champion.

Phoenix walks away, and the screen fades to black.
