Alex Riley's Face Turn

I was pleasantly surprised to see Riley get the reaction he got when he turned on the Miz. Ever since officially joining the roster, he's kinda been on the backburner only getting airtime as Miz's glorified butler. A good feud with Miz is exactly wha he needs to get back on track. I actually don't see it lasting very long though. The way I see it playing out is Riley getting a one on one grudge match with his former mentor at Capitol Punishment. I can also see Riley actually going over Miz before finally permanently distancing himself from Miz by going back to Smackdown (which I think is the brand he's supposed to be on anyway) looking very strong and riding a wave of momentum. He'll finally be able to break out of Miz's shadow and as well as break out as a singles star on the blue brand.

Curently Alex Riley is having a quite interesting feud with The Miz.He is a face and he is getting very good crowd reaction. But whre do you see him after his feud with The Miz.

If it's the mid card why?

If it's the me scene why?

I don't know about anyone else, but I marked out for Alex Riley all night. Maybe it's just cos of the heat of the feud that he's in, but I'm totally loving the guy right now. Oh, and the theme? Hell yeah.

As for what comes next for him, I really don't know. I want him to stay a face, because it's been a long time since I've truly bought into a face character, but I'm not sure how he'll manage with that. We'll just have to see how his feud with The Miz pans out, and hope that he gets over well.

A-Ri is, for now, great proof of the old philosophy "the best way to create a great face is to put him over a great heel."

This thread is misleading. Opening it up after seeing the title I was expecting to see something about a sting "ray", instead it's about A-Ry.

It depends how well Miz puts him over, but coming off the program he should be in a midcard position at the least, possible upper-midcard.

A-Ri has our interest but if he jumps to the main event scene from here, many will lose interest in him. Right now, we're excited about him getting back at The Miz for what he's done to A-Ri. After this, I'd love to see a build in the mid cards feuding with other mid to upper mid card talent so that he gains some real history. Perhaps a feud with Ziggler after this and perhaps a future feud with Del Rio. Give his character potential for the future by giving him a history with other wrestlers and build him to the main event.

Alex Riley could have his own damn category on WZ forums if he wanted. Every Tuesday another identical thread is created.

As to the question: in the coming weeks my guess is that Alex Riley will be wherever the hell Vince McMahon wants him to be because thats just the way wrestling is. And if I'm wrong about that then someone show me where a win loss record has been relevant to wrestling in the last, er, 10 years.

Didn't TNA try a rankings system? I'll bet 90% of the people don't give a shit (Eric).

Note to moderators: do your damn job and stop duplicate threads instead giving SleepingPowder a hard time for voicing his harmless opinions.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

I like it. Finally, a face worth watching. Will A-Ry be the hero this town deserves? I hope so.

The guy is naturally good at the mic, and WWE desperately needs a face who is good on the mic. He hasn't had a whole lot of mic time since his face turn, but the sentence or two he's gotten in isn't bad.

I see the A-Ry/Miz feud going on for awhile -- at least a couple PPVs worth. I see him sticking around the upper midcard after that, possibly feuding against ADR or CM Punk. I fear he may fade into obscurity after this feud though.. how much of his fanfare is just due to Miz hate? I'm sure that accounts for most of it.. it's up to A-Ry to convert that hate into legit pops.

He is over at the moment which is great to finally see a WWE crowd cheering and being excited to see someone for once. (The "Let's go Cena/Cena sux" chants don't count as they overrise each other). Riley has the look and the mic skills and due to being Miz's right hand man has actually had several matches with top talent like Cena and Orton for months now, which I'm sure helped him learn and improve alot.

He is a pretty big guy as well, and if his push is done well could be a great edition to the top mid card scene like Sheamus and Barrett.

It's also great to see Vince capatilise on his popularity by putting him in the ME and even giving him a little story where we think he's going to hit cena with the briefcase but hits Miz instead... little things like that help put a guy over...

- Give credit to The Miz. If he wasn't such a loud-mouthed douchebag, the face turn of Alex Riley will not be as effective. This means that The Miz has definitely made it to the top ...
