Age: You would be suprised

I like numbers and when I read the article about Candice turning 30 today I was shocked. The botox makes her look alot younger so I gathered some suprising numbers relating to the ages of pro-wrestlers in the WWE.

Ric Flair-59
Shawn Michales and The Undertaker and Stone Cold-43
Kane-41
Triple H and Batista-39
Chris Jericho-37
The Rock-36
Edge and Matt Hardy and MVP-34
Rey Mysterio-33
Mr. Kennedy and Shelton Benjamin-32
John Cena and Jeff Hardy-31
CM Punk and Santino Marella and Brian Kendrick-29
Randy Orton and Paul London and John Morrison-28
Kofi Kingston and The Miz-27
Ted DiBiase and Evan Bourne-25
Cody Rhodes-23

and now for divas

Victoria-37
Lita-33
Trish Stratus-32
Candice-30
Mickie James and Melina-29
Michelle McCool-28
Beth Phoenix-27
Natalya-26
Mayrese-25
Kelly Kelly-21 *Interesting side note here Kelly debuted at age 19 as a exibitionist. Cautting it a little close arn't we WWE

So Most of these prople look younger than they should, Except I fully expected John Cena to be 35. So is thre really an age limit on wrestling, Ric Flair for example, he should ahve been gone a while ago, while Michaels can put on better matches than a much younger Rey Mysterio or Shelton Benjamin for example. Some wrestlers are in the business way past their prime, Undertaker and Kane, while others could have wrestled alot longer, The Rock and Trish Stratus. Also it truns out some of our young stars, CM Punk and Mr. Kennedy in particular (wait a month and Punk will be 30), aren't as young as they seem. So youth is in the eye of the WWE we see what they want us to see. But in the end does age really make a differance.

It's funny that Cena & Hardy are the same age, I thought Cena was older but I guess it's just because he accomplished something. Also Victoria is almost 40 years old? Holy she seems ancient compared to some of the divas and still looks good. I'm surprised that Natayla & Pheonix are younger than McCool & Melina, I would have thought the other way around.

Surprised to see Beth Phoenix being 27...I thought she'd be 30+. I'm not sayin' that she looks old...but she just has the appearance of someone older than 27. Candice being older than her was a strange thing to know...

TBK...I never really thought about his age but he seriously looks like he's in his early 20s...talk about keepin' it young. Okay, so age won't really start to show until the mid-30s for most, but still.

Chris Jericho is 37...wow, never saw that one coming. Age is not something I really pay much attention to as its your workrate that's important, but that feels weird...he looks like he's still in his late 20s.

Interesting threads with some surprising stuff. By the way, I would include Holly in that list since he doesn't look that old for a 45 year old.

This goes to reenforce my point that WWE is doing a good job of pushing its new talent. Take the 8 man last night for example. Kane and Mysterio were by far the old guys in there. Cody and Manu are 23, Dibiase and Bourne are 25, Kofi at 27 and Punk is the old guy at 29. These guys are in one of the biggest feuds on the show currently, and you throw in Orton at just 28? How amazing is it to see this much young talent in one place? Its a great sight to see WWE not going down the same road that WCW did. Yes, HHH, Taker and HBK have been around forever and are still on top, but the young guys are moving up the card. Kofi has been around less than a year, Dibiase less than 6 months, same with Bourne. These guys are young, new, and good. That tag match is as much proof as I need about why WWE is #1 and will be #1 for as long as anyone can see.

They are doing a great job of pushing new talent. They seem to have a bright future. The one thing I want to point out though. People bitch about them not putting people over right away. It's not like the days of old where people usually retired earlier then they do now. Today the wrestlers are taking better care of their bodies. They are given more time off and with the wellness policy in place they are going to have longer careers. While they should start putting the younger guys over, people need to realize that HHH, Taker, HBK and a few others havent reached the end of their ropes yet. Let them have a few more years in the sun while helping elevate newer superstars. It makes the young guys earn there spot, while furthering a few legacies. Then when the younger guys are ready to step up they wont fall flat on their face like we have seen in the past. But it is pretty amazing that some of these guys are still so young.

I actually do check the ages out to, so none except maybe Victoria surprise me. R-Truth is 36 too. Festus 24, even though he looks 40. I think the funny thing here is the Rock. Hes been gone forever, had a great career, yet, theres a bunch of guys just younger, and older than him. At only 36,he could come back tommorow and still go another 5 years!

No it doesn't matter at all. A lot of wrestlers you wouldn't be able to guess anyway. You look at that list and see that older people, such as Y2J, HBK, HHH etc. Are still in the main event scene. And then you look at the younger people and they're all up and comers and some of them have already been in the Main Event and been World champions. And most of the people look younger than they are, so age does not matter much in the WWE.

I'll admit WWE is doing a good job right now of pushing younger guys like Rhodes, Dibiase, Bourne and a few others, but this doesn't change the fact that HHH, HBK and Taker are still going to be around for the next few years dominating the main belts and main events, which is still pretty boring. The only thing I'm really liking about them in the main events right now is the fact that guys like Edge and Jericho have been able to feud with them and have been able to make themselves look a whole lot better by doing it. It's kind of funny if you think about who WWE consider the top five guys in the company right now, that being Taker, HHH, Cena then Batista and HBK, because some of those five will be gone in the next five years or a bit longer, whereas Cena is only 31. And, because he loves being a sports entertainer so much and is so healthy most of the time, he will probably be around for many years to come. Even though he's already been a three time WWE Champion and had the longest reign with the belt for the last 20 years.

LOL Festus is actually half a year YOUNGER than me, hahaha... I don't f'n believe this lol. Due to his size and his looks he really DOES look like 40 years old... As for the other ages, I knew most guys' ages, at least approximately... and I've said it often before, it's really a shame Rock quit that early... As someone said, he could come back today and still have a good five or six years in him... Too bad that won't happen, with his movie career going pretty good, but it would be awesome indeed.

I'd have guess MVP to be a few years younger though, about 30... and Victoria is quite surprising indeed!

Im actually stunned by Festus, wow wasnt he the imposter Kane as well? mustve been young then. Victoria is looking good for her age! Orton was a suprise, but thinking about it does make sense as he was hugely succesful from his debut, whereas someone like cm punk spent more time in the independents.

The age that really stunned me is Festus. I can't believe he is only 24, only 6 years older than me yet he looks older than my dad.

The biggest shocker for me was Mike Adamle's age. He is 58 yet he looks a lot younger. For comparison, Jerry the King is also 58 and JR is 56.

The ages that surprise me the most are definitely Festus and MVP. I would never have thought he was 24 until I saw this thread as the man is just insanely huge and he is bald.

MVP surprises me as he acts and looks like he is in his late 20's, not 34.

I'm pretty much going to agree with everyone else. The biggest shocks to me are Festus and Adamle. I wonder what or why made Festus age so quickly. I know some people age quicker than others, but seriously the man looks like a middle aged man struggling with hair loss. On the other hand, I really find Adamle to look great for his age. I know people his age who look terrible.

Randy Orton is 28 years old. that gives him AT LEAST, what: 6, 8 years, Ten years tops left? And with 4 world titles in the sack, I only hope that he never screw it up again. This guy could be the greatest heel ever AND a hall of famer.

holly shit with Festus! 24 yet he looks waaaay older than me (28) lol.

when I see Bourne's, Morrison's, DiBiase's age, I'm sure that the WWE will be dominating this biz for a long, long time. Props to that. Oh, and give dolph Zigler (sp?, Nick Nemeth then) some time already!! lol

I don't think age as a number matters. At the age of 40 WWE shouldn't terminate contracts for wrestlers, or not renew any contracts which would go over this age. Look at Shawn and The Undertaker. 43 years of age and arguably 2 of the best wrestlers on our screens at the moment.

The only problem with age is the physical toll of peoples bodies. Neither of the 2 above wrestlers are in the physical peak of their life. Both have slight problems. However that being said, it doesn't stop them putting on great shows and great matches. If a fall in talent comes from age e.g. Ric Flair, then yes, the WWE has every right to terminate a contract. But I don't think age should be a sole factor.

Randy being 28 wasn't a shock. Ever since I started watching wrestling randy was also starting. Festus being 24 is just mind-numbing. Dont give me red rep, but I always was mad at the rock for leaving. I think in ten years, the main eventers will be randy orton, ted dibiase and Cody Rhodes.
