Who will win the brownlow medal in the year 2008?
I really think that this is geelongs year again and it will be a geelong player to take home the medal. (has nothing to do with the fact i am a geelong fan ) With that being said I think it will be
Jimmy Bartell (yes again) . This guy is simple amazing. He is everywhere on the field. Everytime this guy plays he is on fire. He makes playing football look easy. he is by far one of Geelongs best players and one of their most valuble players. I know there are plenty of people deserving of the Brownlow this year but this guy should win it easilly. So people look forward to seeing The Man Bartell take home the Brownlow medal for the second year running.

I think it will be Adam Cooney.
Even though I am a Bulldogs supporter, I think that he is a very essential part to the team. He can run, kick goals, he's a goad ball getter and makes effective disposals. He has all the tools to be the next great player of the game. He is a future captain.
I would've said Gary Ablett, but I feel that he has not played enough games to be a contender.

Im saying BArtel because he has had an outstanding year and hasnt missed any games. please correct me if im wrong. Where as ablett missed games due to injury and his stats were all about the same level if not better than his brownlow year last year. If he doesnt win it i think boomer harvey from the roos will win it he has been extremely consistant in the midfield for them and has been probably the main reason why the kangas have been a good side this year

Ok, the actual count happened about an hour ago, and I am surprised at who actualy won it.

It was Adam Cooney. The other time I posted was when we still had about 8-9 matches left of the season, and after that I seriously thought it would go to Bartel or Ablett. But the person winning the whole time wasn't even a dark horse, he wasn't even mentioned, Simon Black. He's a great footballer, but he seemed to have gone unnoticed by everybody except for the Brownlow medal talliers. So it was a surprise to see him leading. Bartel didn't even get top 10 players, and also in the top 5 that was a surprise was Matthew Richardson. He had IMO his best season ever this year, but I didn't expect him to be in contention for the Brownlow.

But it doesn't matter. After it's all said and done, Cooney won by one vote, which he got in the 2nd last game. Black came 2nd, Ablett came 3rd, Richardson came 4th and the inilegible Adam Goodes came 5th, if memory serves me correctly. But still, Cooney has had a very good year, but I expected someone from Geelong to win the Brownlow, not Cooney. And his Brownlow speech was a little bit different than other speeches I have heard.
