The Offspring, all the way here.

Think about it. Smashing Pumpkins were a good, unique band who basically self-imploded and disappeared. They were a flash in the pan, though a great flash, for a short time in a decade where depressed musicians with talent got over. Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were strong albums, but the band fell apart.

Offspring are easily one of the highest selling punk rock acts ever (over 40 million world wide album sales!) and they have NEVER self-destructed. Along with Green Day and Rancid, The Offspring were the difibulator that got the heart beat of Punk Rock racing in the United States once again.

Smash is still to this day the highest selling independent label album of all time! Do you all realize how great a distinction that really is!? 16 million albums sold on an independent label! That is the punk rock Modus Opperandi in a nutshell!!!

Even the lessor known album songs were phenominal! I was driving to work this morning listening to "Don't Pick It Up" off of Ixnay on the Hombre:

Such a fun song!

Do I need to list the great songs they've put out? How about ONLY the hits?

Come out and Play, Self Esteem, Gotta Get Away, Smash it Up (cover, off of the Batman Forever sndtrck), All I Want, Gone Away, Pretty Fly for a White Guy, Why Don't You Get a Job, She's Got Issues, I Want You Bad, Million Miles Away, Hit That, and the new single Hammerhead. Throw in Defy You and Can't Get My Head Around You for extra points.

Offspring takes this by a mile, and I will damn sure put them over Green Day in the next round!!!

Off spring would and should easily beat Greenday in the next round. Offspring were one of the founding fathers of so-cal punk, in an era when Hair metal ruled supreme.

And 16 million indie sales or ONE album, id like to see Billie Joe and co beat that!
