Oasis take the title in this one. Though not as well known in the states, they had a huge influence on the British indie music scene. They had many "battles" with bands like Blur and Pulp, but always seemed to write brilliant songs.

Even if thier singer is a dickheead who is banned from most clubs in the North!

I'm going to join Foley in voting for probably the most influential English band of the 90s. Ok, they may not have made it big in America, but hardly any British bands really have, especially in the 90s. That being said, they were and still are capable of turning out very good music and really shaped the 90s British music industry
