#12 Offspring vs #53 Saliva

Please take into account the entire body of work of the artists, their mark on the music industry and/or society as a whole, their influence on other artists, lyrics, music, etc. If you have not already done so, please review the rules of the tournament and the Wrestlezone Forums. Have fun!

You have this one mixed up man. The topic is #12 The Offspring vs. #53 Saliva, but the content is #12 Green Day vs. #53 Silverchair. Also you already have Green Day vs. Silverchair posted, but with the numbers 4 and 61. And you have 12 and 53 posted with Smashing Pumpkins vs. Bad Religion. Either way, you made a big mistake somewhere.

Number mix ups aside, The Offspring take this one for me. I like some of Saliva's work, but the fact is, Offspring were successful in a time where dance music was more influential in the music world than rock, and they brought rock back into vogue. Saliva pale in comparison to offspring in my mind

Yeah, no excuses here, I was exhausted yesterday, and posting 8 of these threads every other day it's cut and paste. I must have forgotten to change it after pasting it, so I will fix it now. Also, thanks to Polley for PM'ing me on that.

Offspring in a landslide. I was shocked Saliva made it out of round 1, but Offspring remains one of the most consistent punk bands of the last 15 years. I think they are surefire HOF'ers, though I bet I get some dissention there. Their body of work is fantastic, top to bottom. They can be hard or soft, funny or serious, punk or rock. Doesn't matter. They win here easily and have a good shot at the regional sweet 16.
