No contest here. Soundgarten should take this one easily. In my opinion, Soundgarten is second only to Alice in Chains when it comes to the bands that emerged from the Seattle scene in the early '90's. They just wrote good songs. And let's not forget that Chris Cornell has one of the best voices in metal history- an absolutely tremendous vocal range.

As usual, my dear, you've summed up a great deal of accurate statements into a concise paragraph. Absolutely no contest here. QOTSA were an impressive band, but they almost fall into the "side project" category.

Great call on Cornell's vocal range. He's done so much great work, and he has been able to change his voice range VERY quickly without sounding whiney (Radiohead cough cough) or disjointed (System of a Down cough cough).

If anyone questions Cornell's range as a singer, simply go listen to "The Day I Tried to Live."
