Lets put it this way Faith No More should really be in the 90's/00's bracket. I know they have been around since the 80's but the work that is generally accepted as their most well known stuff came under Mike Patton and that happened in the 90's. And this is one of the Hardest match-ups of this round. Why you ask. The Cure influenced so many bands, They are Goth Rock. If you look at any of the Emo bands that have become popular in the last couple of years like Panic at the Disco, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars and Red Jumpsuit Aparatus, you will notice a blatent either rip-off or homage to the ideals and look and to a degree the sound of the Cure. And I am not even going into the music that they have produced over the years.
Now onto Faith No More, or in the 80's Faith No Man, why do I put that in because that is the name that they originally went by with the Lead Singer that they had. Anyway going onto Faith No More, the list of songs you can rattle off and all of them are great is huge. They had a huge variation in their songs, they had the Schmooveness in some of their songs like "Evidence", and then they had the Epic songs like, surprise surprise, "Epic". They had the softer songs that were balladesque in "Stripsearch", and then the complete opposite of that in "Collision". In fact just listen to Album of the Year to see the extreme Dichotomy that Faith No More put out as a group.
