This is a thread to discuss the results of the 78 theme song tourny bracket.
***POSSIBLE SPOILERS**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**POSSIBLE SPOILERS***
In my personal opinion, I was actually fairly satisfied with the results. Up until the round of 16, there were a couple of dissapointments, including the loss of both DX themes in the first round, but overall I was glad with the results.
The one that really dissapointed me was HBK's victory over the Undertaker. Both of these had equal reason to win, but the thing that would've put Taker's theme over would be that he only uses his theme when appropriate. By this, I mean Undertaker only uses this theme when he plays the dead-man, and not the American Badass. Shawn Michaels still uses the same theme even though he is obviously no longer breaking hearts, and is probably not seen as a "sexy boy" (or even a "sexy man") by too many people anymore (and before you say it---no, I am not a hater of Shawn Michaels.)
"Sexy Boy" beating "No Chance in Hell" was also a bit annoying to me only because I dont think HBK's theme deserved to be in the Final Four. Don't get me wrong though-I'm not sure if Vinnie Macs music deserved to get that far either. In the end, I guess if I were choosing, I might have chosen Michaels' song as the lesser of two evils.
Bottom Line (no pun intended) Stone Cold vs. Hulk Hogan was a perfect ending. Eric Stein said it perfectly-it was classic. My vote, even though I'm an attitude era fan, was for "Real American", and I for one was glad to see it rise to the top.......and near the 4th of July no less!
<----A Real American
