Will this help the Australian Economy? Giving almost everybody $950 dollars? How is this helping the economy? Most people are going to be going out and wasting the money on drugs and alcohol. Or something stupid like a tattoo.

This aint going to help Australia, where all the money will be going is the places that don't need it. Bottle shops, Casinos ect. we all know that as long as there is humans there will be them. What do you think about this matter? will it help Australia or will it make us plumett into a rescission(sp?)
Should the government be handing this out or not?

Personally i dont give a shit. I would love to get this money as it would help me, as i need a new couch and bed, but if i don't get it i wont care. Its not like i need it, as i should be saving in the first place. I think this will not help Australia in anyway as people will just waste it or spend it abroad.

Well most people don't think about the econoy with this, they just think "Awesome i'm going to get free money!" I hought that they were handing out this money so we could spend it on beer, and in casinos, places to have fun. I was listeningto the radio the other day, an someone calle dup and said how they were going to pay off their mortgaga, and then the people on the show said that that's not what we're supposed to do. We're supposed to spend it on luxuries and indulge ourselves. How that will help the economy, who knows.

As for should they be handing it out, I couldn't really care less, and anyway the majority of people will just waste the money, whether it be by taking the money overseas and spending it in other countries, or by some other means. And I don't think this will help the economy, as it's just a giant waste of money, when we want to be saving the money instead.

Yeh I agree with you guys, people will be spending this money on things such as Alcohol, gambiling and will be in the mindset, 'oh free money, great!' But I think the future generations are going to suffer. They will be the ones forking out the money in more taxes, interest rates paying back this money that will be lost in this crisis. But in saying that, I wouldnt disaprove the money if I got it, lol. It is a waste of money though and im not sure if its the smartest decision.

Since the economy is in trouble then why would you give out free money so people can just fuck around with the money & blow it. If anything they should give them the money so they can get some help paying their mortages & other bills.
