I'm more referring to the partisan, dumpster-fire discourse that stops a lot of progress in its tracks and Obama's inability to bridge those gaps as well as he'd like.

Based on my casual observations, the GOP has no problem moving several inches.

Normally it's further right so they can anchor, but still. Hard to blame them when they're constantly allowed by their opposition to use this method to run wild on the conversation.
