God how I detest everything that there is Shrek. Shrek is terrible, it's not funny, its boring, and it drags on way to long. the only thing remotely savable about this franchise are the Ginger Bread Man, and Pinnochio, outside of those two, this series is atrocious. Essentially, it's a dick and fart laced franchise hidden in the form of a childrens movie, has no substance to it whatsoever.

Children of Men was fanfuckingtastic. A great, yet terrible look into a dystopian near future. The tone is flat out eerie, the mere fact that a situation has arisen that no one can become pregnant. The last human born in the movie is now an adult, and the bleak future and the near extinction is simply ever present. Plus, the camera shot that goes on for an eternity in the films climax is one of the best piece of filmaking that I have ever seen.

Shrek is like the Matrix to me. The sequels have runined it. The original is just great. An all star cast, an engaging plot, and great parodies just make it fun. That's what movies are all about to me: Having fun.

Children of Men is by no means bad. It is a chilling but not impossible thought of what could happen. Its a better made film, but overall too depressing to enjoy. I'll take Shrek, but I won't put up a fight if someone picks the other.

As KB said...Shrek 1 was amusing but has been tarnished by the money following garbage that they called sequels. Cheap, amusing with enough innuendo to keep adults laughing while kids just enjoyed the humour.

Children of Men was an incredible film too and I enjoyed it, but for cheap thrills I'm going with Shrek, but I will happily turn on it when a film I love comes along

Ill go with Shrek here over Children of Men. CoM was a good movie, but it was not fun at all, or that engaging. I knew the entire way through the movie, all I was gaining from the movie was that I was watching a movie everyone who thinks they are a Movie Smark will be talking about. It could have been better, but Im glad its not worse. Shrek did have some crude humour, but it was overall good. The second was alright, the Third was bad. But since we are only voting on the first, I pick Shrek

I like both. However, if I had to pick one to show a random person, I would absolutely pick Children of Men. It is one of Alfonso Cuaron's best, probably his BEST in the English language. It's one the few great performances that Clive Owen has delivered since becoming a well-known actor in America. Michael Caine is Michael Caine, and for those who don't know, Michael Caine is synonymous with greatness. Throw in a great screenplay, fantastic direction, and not one, but TWO of the greatest acts of camerawork in the history of film, and the film almost can't be topped. Seriously, I worship those camera shots. Whoever shot those scenes deserve a dump truck full of cash and the chance to retire and live comfortably for life.

I loved Shrek, loved the animation, the characters, and everything else about it. The witty humor with the kids humor was a nice touch as well. I also loved Children Of Men. I mean Michael freaking Caine is always awesome, and he delivered. But when push comes to shove, Shrek is just too much fun for me to vote against it. My vote goes to Shrek.

Currently it's Shrek, without a doubt. Again, the sequel is better. But the original is still great. Problem is in a few years from now it won't be relevant. It's cram packed full of pop culture refrences that it'll be totally out of date in a few years time. Kids will watch it and at about the same time they'll utter their first swear words ''What the fuck is this shit''. But currently it's the better film.
