1 WWE Superstar + 1 NXT Rookie = Your Tag Team

PrinceMarvel

Occasional Pre-Show
Hopefully, the title explains it.

For fun, take one WWE Superstar, and pair him with an NXT Rookie, and make a tag team.

For example, my two.

CM Punk & Cory Graves, I can't exactly explain why, but to me, their personae seem to match.

R-Truth & Xavier Woods, they both love to dance.

Big E and Dante Dash could easily be the most dominant tag team of this decade. We always see "monsters" or "giants" paired together (Kane & Big Show, Tons of Funk etc.) but very rarely do we see two "beasts" together like we did with Cena and Batista in 2008. I think these two have very similar gimmicks and could easily form a tag team of just being two dominant powerhouses who can tag over the division.

Too easy lol. Kassius Ohno and Antonio Cesaro to reform the Kings of Wrestling.

Not sure if you knew it when you said it, but Woods and Truth used to be a tag team in TNA, Truth and Consequence. Anyway, I'll also go with a tag team that hasn't existed prior to the superstars being in the WWE and I'll say a team of Adrian Neville and Evan Bourne. Those guys could be an awesome face team and perform some crazy shit.

Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt.
They are brothers in the real life - what can be a better reason to form them into a tag team then that???

As someone else mentioned, the most obvious choice would be to pair Kassius Ohno with Antonio Cesaro. As the Kings of Wrestling, they were a dominant team on the indy circuit in companies like Chikara, CZW and, of course, ROH. They obviously work well together, are very close in real life and have the sort of natural chemistry that most teams just simply can't duplicate.

I think another team that has the potential to be highly entertaining would be Kofi Kingston and Adrian Neville. Both work a fast paced, high energy style that feature some great high spots. Even if they didn't make it to the top of the tag team scene, which that's not saying that it's impossible by any stretch, it could be a good means of introducing Neville to the WWE audience. Kofi Kingston has been a consistently over tag team & mid-card staple in WWE for about 5 years now and if WWE made a decision to turn Neville heel, Kofi could be a good opponent for Neville's first singles feud.

I'd go with Kingston and Neville as my first choice too as I think Kingston needs a shot in the arm and it would be a great way of introducing Neville as a fan friendly high flyer.

I'd switch their eventual break up though and have Kofi try a heel run, could be exactly what he needs

I'd like to see Sin Cara + Sami Zayn as El Generico. Sin Cara desperately needs to be relevant again and being part of the tag team division could possibly do that as we are in need of some good tag competition. Who better to team him with than the very popular generic luchador? If not Generico then Ricardo would be a great partner as well because he can actually wrestle.

I think If I had to logically do this with the intention of them being successful and interesting I would put together Aiden English and Fandango. If you look at it both have history as former "performers" and arts background and I think already they could have good chemistry together. If I had to create a name I'd make them the "Art Attack"(yes this is a ripoff of the Harts) but I'm not that creative. However I think they have oddly similar but not too similar styles and promos and styles so therefore they could become a success.

I only thought about this one after reading part of tonight's results for Monday Night Raw; but how about Christian & Sami Zayn.

Both are high flying Canadians, and I think their personalities would match, if they wanted, they could even add in Tyson Kidd.

If Aiden English and Damien Sandow don’t get together and form the English Scholars at some point in the future, I will be very very disappointed. I can just see their entrance...

Sandow: “SILENCE!

English: ”SPOTLIGHT!!”

Then English sings them to the ring, takes a bow, and Sandow says “you’re welcome”. They’re made to go together

Also, not a tag team, but I think it could be hilarious once Emma comes up to the main roster if she insisted she was a better dancer than Summer Rae so they had a match to decide who would be Fandango's new dance partner. Emma beats her and Fandango has to dance with Emma (who he would of course be disgusted by her lack of skill) every week. Of course it'd just be temporary but I think it could be funny to pair them up for a while

Breeze, Ziggler and Fahn dahng go go go have narcissism locked up, but tbh, we've seen it all before. Speaking of Fandango, he is still owed a tag title shot with R-Truth.

If Kozlov was still around, him and Russeev would've been the Husky Russkies (even though Russeev is booked as a Bulgarian). The team wouldn't be very exciting, though, but they would've looked like a threat each time (Tons of Funk-level enhancement talent).

If Batista ever returns and they DON'T try to sell Mason Ryan as his kid...

I only thought about this one after reading part of tonight's results for Monday Night Raw; but how about Christian & Sami Zayn.

I was talking to someone about this the other night and I'm of exactly the same opinion, Christian I think will be lost in the the shuffle a bit when he comes back from his concussion and Zayn is more than ready for the main roster they have a work heavy style and a potential match with Reigns and Rollins would be fantastic I think.

I'd go with Neville and Barratt as a new British Bulldogs team with Regal managing... Would give Barrett something to do and I don't see Neville as a face... Even add Paige to the group as Barrett's girl... Then of course rehire Harry and have he Kidd and Natalya feud with them.

I've got two:
1.) Xavier Woods & David Otunga (to get this man back on TV and off the milk Carton)
2.) Sami Zayn & Chris Jericho

The second one because Zayn being able to work with Jericho would be amazing to see and it would be great for him career wise, and the first because it could help Otunga establish a face gimmick as he's only been a heel and Xavier Woods is way over in NXT and a great worker in the ring as well.
