WWF 1993
POST WRESTLEMANIA 9

This BT will pick up from the night of WrestleMania IX in Las Vegas, Nevada where Hulk Hogan returned to the WWF to capture the WWF Championship from Yokozuna just moments after he won it from Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart. Despite a lack of star names in the main event scene around this time, the mid card was pretty well stocked with some big names of the future – Owen Hart, Razor Ramon, Lex Luger and Shawn Michaels to name a few. This is going to be a little fun project for me to write alongside ‘GCB’s WWE’ (which is definitely not finishing before you ask) and it is the first WrestleMania that I watched. Whilst I’ve since realised that it pretty much sucked, I loved it when I was 12 and it holds a special place in my wrestling memory so I decided to start with it.

Intercontinental Championship: Tatanka defeats Shawn Michaels (C) via DQ
After Shawn Michael’s problems with Marty Janetty, Sensational Sherry comes out with Tatanka hoping to see Shawn get his just desserts. However, Shawn has protection in the form of Luna Vachon who is out to keep an eye on Sherry. Shawn and Tatanka have a great opening match which appears to be heading the way of Tatanka as we near the conclusion of the contest with several near falls. With a shoulder injury bothering him, Shawn decides to take the coward’s way out and he drags the referee out of the ring and throws him to the ground. Tatanka hits the Fallaway Slam for the 1,2,3 but the referee doesn’t count it and disqualifies Shawn Michaels instead. Despite winning the match, Tatanka does not win the Intercontinental Championship.

After the match, Luna attacks Sensational Sherry and Tatanka has to chase her away before a further attack in the backstage area later in the event.

Steiner Brothers defeat Headshrinkers
Scott Steiner takes a real pounding from Samu and Fatu – as well as Hafa, the manager of the Headshrinkers – after he is dropped head first over the top rope. However, the Steiners manage to gut the match out and a surprise Frankensteiner allows the Steiners to continue to pick up momentum with the 1,2,3 on their WrestleMania debut.

Doink the Clown defeats Crush
After weeks of getting the better of Crush with his dastardly deeds, Crush finally gets his hands on the evil clown as he makes his wrestling debut in Las Vegas. Crush dominates Doink for the majority of the match, despite a few attempts at a comeback from Doink, and he looks to have the match won as he locks in the Kona Clutch to try and squeeze the life out of Doink. However, a shock is on the cards as a second Doink appears in the ring from underneath the ring when the referee is knocked down. He clubs Crush with an arm cast over the back of the head several times before the two clowns perform a synchronised display. The ‘new’ Doink heads back under the ring whilst the ‘original’ Doink gets the 1,2,3. Despite a referee heading out to tell the hurt referee what went down, they can find no sign of the second Doink and the result will stand.

Razor Ramon defeats Bob Backlund
The veteran Bob Backlund has returned to the WWF and this is his first ever WrestleMania appearance as he faces up against the up and coming newcomer, the ‘Bad Guy’ Razor Ramon. Backlund’s wrestling style gets the upper hand over Razor for the majority of the match as he rolls back the years to when he was the WWF Champion on two occasions totalling six years. However, Backlund is the one taught a lesson at WrestleMania as Razor shows him that a lot has changed since 1984 as he hooks him up with a surprise roll up pinfall.

Tag Team Championships: Money Inc. (c) defeat Hulk Hogan & Brutus Beefcake via DQ
The returning ‘immortal’ Hulk Hogan returns to the WWF for WrestleMania after almost a year away to tag with his friend, Brutus ‘Barber’ Beefcake. Tag Team Champions Money Inc’s vicious attack on Beefcake on a recent RAW caused him to require a facemask but gave him an opportunity to tag with Hogan for a shot at the titles. A highly exciting tag team contest sees IRS and Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase resort to every dirty tactic possible in order to try and defend their titles – including, at one point, leaving the match. However, the referee orders them to return to the ring or lose their titles. Towards the end, Money Inc manage to rip the mask off Brutus and they began to destroy him. Beefcake manages to fight back with a sleeper to IRS but the referee ends up knocked out when DiBiase breaks the hold. In the end, Hogan uses the titanium mask to knock both members of Money Inc out cold and Jimmy Hart – Hogan and Beefcake’s manager, former manager of Money Inc – counts the 1,2,3 and awards the Tag Team Championships to his men. However, another referee rushes down and disqualifies Hogan and Beefcake for illegal use of the mask instead.

Afterwards, Hogan and Brutus scare Money Inc out of the ring and Jimmy Hart tosses the referee out of the ring in disgust after he disqualified Hogan. A big celebration ensues and Hogan and Beefcake open up Money Inc’s briefcase left in the ring to reveal a brick, tax forms and hundreds of dollars that they toss to the crowd.

‘Narcissist’ Lex Luger defeats Mr. Perfect
The undefeated Luger puts his unbeaten run on the line as he goes up against Mr. Perfect. Perfect is aiming to become the first man to not only beat Luger but also to be the first man to avoid being knocked out cold by Luger’s forearm – a lot of suspicion is floating around over the forearm. Luger is accompanied to the ring by some beautiful bikini clad ladies with full length mirrors and sparklers and the former Bodybuilder poses in the ring until Perfect joins him in the ring. Luger, who earlier in the day at the WrestleMania brunch knocked out WWF Champion Bret Hart, resorts to dirty tactics to try and defeat Perfect and keep his unbeaten run going. Perfect outwrestles Luger though and comes within inches of defeating Luger and ending his unbeaten run. Despite winning every match via knockout so far in the WWF, Luger eventually uses a backslide cover to pin Perfect even though his feet are on the ropes. As Perfect complains, Luger blindsides him and knocks him cold – ‘cold as a mackerel’ according to Bobby Heenan – before leaving the ring.

An annoyed Mr. Perfect is not happy and he goes storming back out of the ring and backstage intent on finding Luger and exacting revenge. He spots him in the parking lot and attacks him from behind. However, Luger is speaking with Shawn Michaels at the time and Michaels refuses to stand back. He attacks Perfect and uses broomsticks and trash cans to lay down a beating to Perfect before referees restrain the pair of them.

The Undertaker defeats Giant Gonzalez via DQ
In Undertaker’s third WrestleMania appearance, he appears to be in huge trouble as he faces off against the eight feet tall Giant Gonzalez. After Gonzalez attacked Undertaker at the Royal Rumble – a revenge mission for Harvey Wippelman after Taker destroyed Kamala last year – many speculated that there was no way that he could be beaten. Undertaker travelled to the ring in a chariot – with a vulture for company - for the match which was very awkward at times due to the size of the Giant who dominated for the majority of the match. However, there was big trouble in store for Undertaker when he tried to take out Wippelman – Gonzalez used a cloth covered in chloroform to put the Undertaker to sleep. The Deadman was stretchered out of the ring whilst Giant Gonzalez refused to leave the ring and choke slammed a referee as the crowd chanted for ‘Hogan!’ instead. Unbelievably, Undertaker got back to his feet and headed back out from the backstage area and managed to clothesline Gonzalez and send him scurrying from the ring. A DQ win for Undertaker was announced and an irate Giant Gonzalex had to be ushered away by armed Las Vegas guards to end the war – for now.

WWF Championship: Yokozuna defeats Bret Hart (c) to win the WWF Title
Royal Rumble winner, the 505 pound Yokozuna, came into this match as the heavy favourite after dominating every match he had been involved in since his debut – including matches against Macho Man Randy Savage who he injured, a bodyslam challenge from Hacksaw Jim Duggan and the Rumble match. It appeared that the title reign of the gutsy Hitman would be coming to an end and, in the early stages of the contest, that is exactly what happened as Yokozuna dominated. However, Hart rallied and managed to adapt his wrestling style to counter the sheer size of his challenger. The crowd went crazy at Hitman locked in the Sharpshooter and Yokozuna looked set to tap out when Mr. Fuji rescued him by throwing salt into Hart’s eyes. This meant that Yokozuna could roll up the Hitman and become the new WWF Champion.

WWF Championship: Hulk Hogan defeats Yokozuna (c) to win the WWF Title
Before the first title match, Hogan had issued a challenge to whoever won the match – he wanted a shot at the champion. Fuji dared him to face Yokozuna right there and then and when Bret Hart gave him his blessing, Hogan went in to challenge the Japanese sumo wrestler. Fuji tried to throw salt in Hogan’s eyes but he ducked, the salt hit Yokozuna instead. Hogan knocked the Sumo wrestler down and hit the leg drop before making the 1,2,3 to win the WWF Championship – Yokozuna had held the WWF Championship for 2 minutes and 5 seconds before dropping it to Hogan. This meant that the sellout crowd in Las Vegas went wild with delight as their hero raised the WWF Championship high above his head once again.

This is awesome because it is so different then all the same old WWE 2010 - 2012 threads we get around here. I love that you're doing something like this as a side project and the time period you're working with is good. This could be something special if you keep with it, of course staying with your other thread always. One thing that I would to point out, you may already know, is Raw was only for an hour at this point. So time management needs to be really good on your part. If anyone beats Hogan on anything other then PPV I will riot. Anyway good luck with this and I'll be reading what comes next.

=== THE NEW WWF CHAMPION SPEAKS OUT! ===

After an amazing and unexpected ending to WrestleMania 9 last night in Las Vegas, neither of the two men who competed in the scheduled WWF Championship match managed to walk out as the WWF Champion. Despite a controversial victory for the 505 pound Yokozuna over the former champion Bret “Hitman” Hart, his title reign lasted just 2 minutes as he made a challenge to the Immortal Hulk Hogan who delighted all of his Hulkamaniacs around the world by not only accepting the challenge right there and then but then defeating the Sumo wrestler from Japan. It means that Hulkamania will be running wild tonight in the Manhattan Center in New York as the new WWF Champion speaks out about his fifth WWF Championship.

What will the Hulkster have to say about winning the WWF Championship?

Will we hear from either of the former WWF Champions?

=== KING OF THE RING ANNOUNCEMENT ===

On June 13th, in Dayton, Ohio, the WWF will be hosting the next pay-per-view in the form of a one night tournament to determine the King of the Ring. Tonight, we will hear from Vince McMahon as he introduces the tournament and will inform us about how the action will unfold over the coming weeks as the WWF superstars are given the chance to qualify for the tournament. With the King of the Ring pay-per-view just ten weeks away, which superstars will be entering the tournament to try and become the first ever King of the Ring in 1993?

Who will be entering the King of the Ring competition?

Which superstars will be getting a chance to qualify first?

=== UNDERTAKER IN ACTION! ===

Last night at WrestleMania, The Undertaker was beaten down by the eight foot tall Giant Gonzalez when the Giant used a cloth soaked in chloroform to send the Deadman unconscious. However, Undertaker returned to the ring and took down the Giant before he was named victorious as a result of a disqualification. Tonight, the Undertaker will be in action as he faces the always dangerous Kimchee but Giant Gonzalez’ manager Harvey Wipplemann has promised to be in New York tonight to confront Undertaker and his manager, the guardian of the urn, Paul Bearer.

Can Kimchee cause an upset by beating the Undertaker tonight?

What will Harvey Wipplemann have to say when he confronts Undertaker and Paul Bearer?

=== WRESTLEMANIA TAG TEAM REMATCH! ===

After their hard fought victory last night at WrestleMania, the Steiner Brothers will be looking to continue their momentum as they face the Headshrinkers who they beat last night. It has been rumoured that President Jack Tunney is watching both of these teams carefully at the moment as he looks for the next challengers for the Tag Team Championships of Money Incorporated. Headshrinkers will be desperate for revenge to stake their claims for a Tag Team Title shot but they will have to be at their best to defeat the ever popular Steiner Brothers tonight.

Can the Steiners continue their recent momentum?

Or will the Headshrinkers get revenge for their WrestleMania defeat?

=== MONDAY NIGHT RAW ===

The excited Monday Night RAW crowd in Manhattan are jumping up and down and cheering as the sirens echo around the building and the RAW lady, black swimsuit and frizzed up blonde hair, holds up a sign introducing Monday Night RAW. At ringside, Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan are stood with microphones and they hype up last night’s WrestleMania with Vince highlighting that Hulk Hogan is the five time WWF Champion whilst Bobby Heenan claims that Yokozuna was robbed as the match didn’t even start with a bell. Vince moves on to explain that tonight’s main event match will see a WrestleMania rematch as the Steiner Brothers face off against the team they beat last night, the Headshrinkers. He also says that we will be hearing from the new WWF Champion Hulk Hogan later in the evening as well ...

YOKOZUNA
(with Mr. Fuji)

=== “ROCKET” ===
”ROCKET” OWEN HART

Vince McMahon explains why Yokozuna looks in such a foul mood once more as well as identifying that the Sumo wrestler defeated Owen Hart’s brother last night at WrestleMania to end his WWF Championship reign. Owen looks pumped up and ready to try and take his opportunity here as he goes one on one with the mammoth Yokozuna.

=== YOKOZUNA vs. OWEN HART ===
SINGLES MATCH

The match starts with Yokozuna going through his rituals in the corner which includes covering his hands in salt – the same salts used to defeat Bret Hart last night. Bret’s brother, Owen, learns from his brother’s attempt last night and he runs over and hits an unexpected drop kick to Yokozuna to stagger him back into the corner off the bat. Owen mounts the 505 pound monster and starts pounding away with heavy right hands as the RAW crowd roar him on. However, Yokozuna is too strong and he carries Owen from the corner to the centre of the ring and suplexes him hard onto the mat. The crowd groan and Mr. Fuji congratulates his man as he looks around the ring at the crowd. A smirk appears on Yokozuna’s face as he stands over the wincing Owen who is clutching his stomach. The Sumo wrestler steps back as Owen staggers to his feet in the corner of the ring ... poor positioning from Owen as Yokozuna rushes across the ring and squashes him in the corner of the ring. Yoko shoves Owen down to the mat hard as the pain shows on his face and then positions him in the corner ready for the devastating finish move that nobody has escaped yet in the WWF. Yokozuna climbs up the ropes and stands on the middle buckle before yelling ‘Bonsai!’ and jumping down. BANZAI SPLASH! All of Yoko’s weight crushes down on the rib cage of Owen Hart and the referee makes the count ...

WINNER:
YOKOZUNA (2:32)

A complete squash for Yokozuna here as he makes short work of Bret Hart’s little brother in just a couple of minutes. Snarling, Yokozuna stands up and stares out at the crowd as Mr. Fuji gets in the ring as well with a microphone. He doesn’t speak at first, instead he orders Yokozuna to climb the ropes again as McMahon at ringside worries for Owen’s safety here. Fuji, in broken English, tells the WWF audience that this one is for Owen’s brother, Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart as a warning not to mess with Yokozuna. Yoko leaps off the ropes again and squashes Owen flat once again and this time he stays seated on him as officials try to convince him to move. Fuji laughs and says that if Bret Hart tries to deny Yokozuna his right to face Hulk Hogan at the King of the Ring, he will get the same treatment. Bobby Heenan suggests that Bret is a chicken because he has not come out to save Owen but Vince corrects him and informs us that Bret is not here tonight in New York. Fuji now moves on to address the new WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan. He says that Hogan should not get used to being champion as he has lodged an official complaint over the treatment of the mighty Yokozuna. He says that his Yokozuna will soon be the WWF Champion again – one way or another ...

RAW returns with footage of Owen Hart being helped out of the ring after he was squashed, literally, by Yokozuna moments ago. Vince McMahon declares that Yokozuna has sent a message to Bret Hart and the new WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, that he intends to be WWF Champion again before reminding us that Hogan will join us here on RAW later tonight.

IRWIN R. SCHYSTER

Vince McMahon reminds us that at WrestleMania, Brutus Beefcake and Hulk Hogan just failed in his attempt to capture the Tag Team Championship from Money Incorporated after they were caught using the protective mask of Beefcake to lay the Tag Champions out. IRS isn’t looking happy and he insults the crowd for not paying their taxes before directing some comments to Brutus – he claims that without Hogan, Brutus is nothing and he intends to make him pay for opening Money Inc’s briefcase yesterday and handing out thousands of dollars to the crowd.

=== BRUTUS “BARBER” BEEFCAKE vs. IRS ===
SINGLES MATCH

The match begins with a technical edge to it and it is IRS who eventually gets on top as he locks in an armlock and takes Brutus down to the mat. IRS, a great technical wrestler, looks to wear down Beefcake on the mat and he continues to drive his arm up his back where it shouldn’t go. Brutus fights out but IRS locks in a reverse chinlock and rides Brutus down again as he uses his technical advantage to retain control. In the end, Brutus’ extra efforts when the crowd clap their hands allow him to break clear and he hits several clotheslines and big punches in a row before mounting IRS and delivering the perfect ten punches in the corner. A running high knee follows and Brutus has control of the match now as he jumps on top of IRS and pounds away and takes out months of frustration over IRS. Vince reminds us that it was Money Incorporated who destroyed Brutus’ face in the first place with their briefcase. Brutus senses an opportunity now and he locks in the Sleeper hold on IRS now who realises he is in deep trouble and begins trying desperately to get to the ropes. He manages it and the referee orders the break – IRS is quick to lock Beefcake into a back suplex and he takes control again. As IRS seems to be heading to victory, he climbs the ropes to the outside and waits perched on the top rope. As Beefcake gets up, IRS dives off the ropes looking for a flying clothesline but Brutus ducks under his arm and avoids it ... Sleeper locked in again! IRS is in big trouble now and Brutus manages to get him down to the knees as he begins to fade. At this moment, loud boos are heard and out comes IRS’s partner, the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase! Brutus releases IRS and looks down over the ropes towards DiBiase threatening him not to get in the ring. DiBiase pleads his innocence to the referee and makes out that he is there to support IRS and not to get involved physically. Brutus is wary and watches him as he walks around the ring past Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan on the announce desk. Brutus turns back towards IRS and swings a clothesline but IRS has rested up. He ducks and lifts the Barber into a Samoan Drop ... THE STOCK MARKET CRASH! IRS smiles now and he locks in the STF submission hold – THE PENALTY – and Brutus is in big trouble. Eventually, he has no choice but to tap out and it is over ...

IRS celebrates his win and his Tag Team partner enters the ring and hands him his Tag Team Championship belt before raising his arm. IRS and Ted DiBiase look down on Brutus and there is a sinister sneer about them both as they drop their titles. IRS grabs hold of Brutus and stops him from being able to control his arms as DiBiase looks to pull off the protective mask. Jimmy Hart, the former manager of Money Inc, pleads with them to stop but they ignore him. Off comes the mask and Brutus’ face is now exposed. DiBiase grabs the briefcase and he prepares to smash it into the face of Beefcake as the crowd chant for ‘Hogan!’ ... Hart gets into the ring to stop DiBiase but he is shoved hard through the ropes to the outside and it appears that Brutus’ last defence has gone. DiBiase swings the briefcase towards his exposed face ... BAM! DIBIASE HITS IRS INSTEAD AS BRUTUS DUCKS! Shocked, DiBiase spins around and Brutus waffles him with the mask and both the Tag Champions are down and out as Brutus celebrates with the fans ...

RAW returns with Vince McMahon in the ring and he looks ready to make an announcement. Vince clears his throat and then begins as he announces that the next WWF PPV will be the King of the Ring in ten weeks time in Dayton, Ohio, the “Heartland of America.” Vince says that there will be a one night, eight man tournament where a winner will be crowned as the inaugural “King of the Ring” in the WWF. Vince moves on and informs us that over the next eight weeks, there will be eight qualifying matches to determine the eight men to compete in the tournament. Next week on RAW, we will see the first of those matches as the former WWF Champion Bret “Hitman” Hart returns to the ring and faces the “Bad Guy” Razor Ramon. Vince says that President Jack Tunney has made the decision to place both Bret Hart and Yokozuna in the tournament because the winner will face the WWF Champion, whoever that may be, at the SummerSlam PPV in August.

=== “THE GREAT GATES OF KIEV” ===
JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER

Jerry Lawler arrogantly steps out into the ring and he is carrying his crown as usual. He confronts McMahon immediately and it is clear that he is annoyed about something. Lawler reminds us that he is the only King here in the World Wrestling Federation and that the tournament is meaningless as no other man could take that spot away from him. Lawler goes on to suggest to McMahon that the “King of the Ring” PPV should really feature royalty and he says that seeing as Bret Hart and Yokozuna will be in the tournament – if they qualify, says Vince – then he should face Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship in Dayton. Vince laughs and then realises that Lawler is serious and he reluctantly says he will ensure that Jack Tunney is given that message and he will try to get him an answer for next week. Vince goes on to reveal the rest of the “King of the Ring” qualifying matches:

Bearer places the urn down in the corner and he begins to remove the coat and hat of Undertaker so that the match can begin as the crowd watch on at this amazing WWF superstar with so much potential ... Vince McMahon reminds us of Undertaker’s DQ win over Giant Gonzalez last night at WrestleMania 9 and that Harvey Wipplemann has promised to be here tonight to confront Paul Bearer and the Undertaker. Bobby Heenan says that out of all the people to confront the Undertaker, he isn’t surprised that it will be Harvey who is one tough son of a gun ... Vince cannot believe what his broadcast colleague is saying!

=== KIM CHEE vs. THE UNDERTAKER ===
SINGLES MATCH

Kim Chee actually gets in a little offence at the start of the contest as he manages to catch Taker off guard with a pounding attack. A suplex from Kim Chee leaves Undertaker on the mat and Kim Chee taunts Paul Bearer. Unfortunately for Kim Chee, we all know what is coming next as Bearer lifts up the urn and Undertaker sits up eerily. Kim Chee looks to smash him in the face with more punches but it is no good as Taker uses a series of choke thrusts to stagger him back followed by a choke in the corner of the ring. Taker twists the arm of Kim Chee and slowly climbs to the top rope before balancing along it to the delight of the crowd. He rams his arm across Kim Chee’s back and shoulders before a flying clothesline connects to leave Kamala’s handler down on the mat. Undertaker lifts Kim Chee up and sets him up ... TOMBSTONE!

He says that he has a message from the Giant Gonzalez – he promises that Undertaker will pay for his actions at WrestleMania and he will return and surprise Undertaker very soon. Undertaker doesn’t appear to be listening though as he is concerned with avenging Paul Bearer being shoved down and he steps out of the ring. Wipplemann backs away fearfully but he has one more thing to say as he tells Undertaker that Giant Gonzalez promises that it will be Undertaker who rests in peace when he gets his hands on him again. With that, Harvey runs away with Undertaker and a wobbling Paul Bearer chasing after him at a slow speed ...

Rick adds that the Headshrinkers are a tough team to beat and that they won’t take them lightly but they learnt a lot last night and that they expect to win once again. === HEADSHRINKERS vs. STEINER BROTHERS ===
TAG TEAM MATCH

After a good match at WrestleMania 9, these two teams locked up again in another excellent, well paced match here on RAW for the main event. After a hard hitting start, Rick Steiner was this time the man who the Headshrinkers took control of after Afa whacked him with his stick when the referee was distracted by Scott on the other side of the ring. Frequent tags between Fatu and Samu allowed them to stay fresh as they frustrated Scott on the other side of the ring and cut Rick out of the contest. Several headbutts kept Rick down and a double thrust kick from both Headshrinkers looked to have the match won – Scott Steiner’s frustration caught up with him and he interrupted the count to the Headshrinker’s annoyance. With Rick isolated, it was a case of the crowd waiting for Rick to get his chance and he did so when he moved away from an attempted diving headbutt from Fatu that missed. Rick slowly inches his way towards Scott and reaches out. However, the Headshrinkers distracted the ref as he made the tag, Scott steamed in and attacked Fatu. The referee, though, orders Scott back out of the ring as he didn’t see the tag. The crowd aren’t happy as Samu begins to beat down on Rick again and he looks to be heading for the win when Rick ducks under an attempted splash from Samu and hits a dropkick that buys him some time as Samu crashes into Fatu in the corner. It gets him the few extra seconds he needs and he makes the tag to Scott Steiner. In comes Scott and he is a ball of pent up fury now as he smashes into Samu and Fatu with clotheslines, dropkicks and belly to belly suplexes, the final one throwing Samu out of the ring through the ropes. Scott signals that it is time for the Frankensteiner and he looks to take down Fatu – however, he manages to counter the finisher into a Powerbomb instead and he makes the cover ... Rick to the rescue to break the count. The Headshrinkers are less than pleased with the interference of Rick, despite their own dodgy tag teaming earlier in the match, they protest to the referee and this allows Scott to recover. Afa gets in the ring as Samu and Fatu knock Rick off the apron into the fences around the ring and joins his Headshrinkers team as they prepare for a triple headbutt on Scott Steiner. He looks helpless but manages to wriggle clear and all three Headshrinkers crash heads. Although their heads are harder, three heads colliding is never a good thing and Scott takes advantage as he tosses Afa out, clotheslines Samu over the top rope and then waits for Fatu ... === “REAL AMERICAN” ===
WWF CHAMPION – HULK HOGAN

A huge ovation for the new WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, as he makes his way out to the ring to address the crowd following his win over Yokozuna last night at WrestleMania. He poses for the crowd and encourages them to make some noise before he stands beside Vince McMahon and prepares for his questions. Vince asks Hogan how he feels and Hogan replies that he is feeling amazing, he has won an unprecedented fifth WWF Championship for all his Hulkamaniacs and he couldn’t be any happier right now. However, Vince brings Hogan down to earth as he points out that his title win was controversial – Yokozuna had just wrestled minutes before in a gruelling battle with Bret “The Hitman” Hart. Hogan declares that it was Yokozuna that made the challenge to face him there and then, he shouldn’t make challenges that he can’t fulfil – especially when he is going to challenge the power of Hulkamania. Hogan says that he cannot wait to face Yokozuna fresh and healthy and to prove that his win last night was no fluke and that he is still the best the WWF has to offer. Vince moves onto the thorny issue of Bret Hart, a man who says he is the ‘best there is’ in the WWF and whether he should get a rematch for the WWF Championship. Hogan says he respects the Hitman and that he was a great WWF Champion – WrestleMania 9 just wasn’t his night. Hogan says that he was given Bret Hart’s blessing to go and face Yokozuna and he is willing to defend the title against Hart if that is what Jack Tunney would like to do. Vince says that both men have been entered into the “King of the Ring” instead and asks if Hogan would be interested in taking part in the tournament as well? Hogan says he already has proof that he is the “King of the Ring” here in the WWF – he holds the WWF Championship belt up for all to see. Vince asks him who he is going to face at the “King of the Ring” PPV and Hogan says he has no idea – that is a decision for Jack Tunney to make. However, at Summerslam, he will still be champion and then the power of Hulkamania will prove that he is the “King” of the WWF. Hogan goes on to mention the challenge of Jerry “The King” Lawler and asks the WWF crowd if they would like to see him kick Lawler’s ass allover Dayton, Ohio? They roar their approval and the interview ends with Hogan posing with the title belt again and ripping off his shirt as the first RAW after WrestleMania comes to an end ...

GrandSword Review

WWF 1993... looking fwd to this one.

Hogan to address his title win later in the show... Sounds good can't wait for the promo.

Yoko crushing Owen. Yoko beat Bret at WM, so I was thinking it would be Bret who would be the one to excellently execute someone to get some back... also Yoko wouldn't have anymore animosity towards the Hart's as it was Hogan who took his title...

Then Bret wasn't at Raw, a little disappointed about that. However it is only an hour show so it is something that can drip fed over the next few weeks. Why wasn't Bret there though? It does suggest he is at home licking his wounds and having a cry about losing the title (something that many fans believe about Bret).

IRS wins with a submission.. love it! I remender when Rotunda was with the Varsity Club and was just this techincal bad ass. Awesome, and I don't really like Brutus so this was great for me.

King of the Ring, love it. Winner gets Hogan at Summerslam, even better. There are some big time first round matches here. Bret and Razor.. damn was hoping to see more Razor... I'm sure the match will be epic though.

Taker segment was just right after WM and would have been a real crowd pleaser.

I've never been a fan of a ppv match being replayed on free tv straight away. Loved the match but for me it kind of rips the fans off a little.

and now Hogan...

I think you've nailed Hogan here really well. The thing is not many Maniacs back in the day heard it, but he was always a douche. He was always doing heel sort of tactics in his matches before the hulk ups (rake of the backs etc.) and this promo was bordering on heel, which I thought was great especially if you take it into perspective on how Hulk's career was going at this time. He keeps that face stuff though with the reference to Lawler and Bret's blessing on him taking on Yoko, but he likes to just tell everyone that no one is in his league.

He saying all this even though the KoR tourney has Million $ Man, Macho, Bret, Yoko, Michaels, Luger and Taker in it.. (which I can't wait for man that is going to be awesome) but Hogan is showing that "Hollywood" side of him here (which he kind of always did).. great work with Hogan here GCB.

All in all was really looking fwd to this and was a decent show. I hope you keep this going, as you've got a lot of stuff you're producing and think this one will be a heap of fun for you to write and for us to read.

Cheers,

GS

Cheers for the feedback, mate. An hour show isn't good for getting them all in. IIRC, WWF used to have main eventers pop up on RAW every 2/3 weeks so there was always someone missing. In this case, it was Bret.

Understood, but with the rivalry we all know about behind the scenes I was pumped to see Hart interupt Hogan and have a huge stare down to kick off rock n roll era vs. new generation... Hogan vs. Hart.. , The Immortal One vs. the Best...
