I think if WWE didn't have NXT then they would probably go out and buy all of TNA and flood the roster like they did WCW but seen as though they have NXT then there is very little to gain from TNA Talent.

Beer Money, The Wolves would be great for the tag division.
Kurt Angle could possibly offer something for that 'final run'.
Austin Aries would fit into NXT pretty well.

That is it though in my opinion. The Hardys will probably do the indie scene, Lashley will focus on MMA, Ken Anderson will no doubt find work but not in WWE. A trio of long shots could be another chance for Ethan Carter III, Magnus and Kenny King but with NXT talent like Zayn, Owens, Itami, Balor and recently called up Neville I am not sure they are needed.

It has been said a few times already but I expect Vince will want that video library. Sting, Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle have had some great matches there and with two on the WWE roster and Angle having a great WWE Career also I see them going hand in hand on DVD productions.

I don't see them wanting the company, but they'd probably be very interested in the video library (as countless others have mentioned). WWE has always been about owning as much wrestling history footage as they could get their hands on... even more so now with the WWE Network. I think it would be cool to see WWE put some TNA programming on The Network.

But they have no need for the physical company as a whole. They could sign any talent from TNA that they want to if they were actually interested. There's a reason why homegrown TNAers rarely end up in WWE.

They should definitely but the library.. I wouldn't mind seeing the many TNA talent in WWE though, they have a lot of talented wrestlers however, I don't want to simply see TNA die either from it being bought, TNA keeps WWE grounded somewhat, gives them competition and Vince absolutely needs some competition, so if it did get bought out and continued running then TNA needs to stay as TNA Impact, not WWE Impact or WWE-TNA, but TNA Impact, it would have many upsides, as the show is far more adult, I would hate to see it stripped down to PG, it could be like a more "adult" wrestling program under the belt of WWE.. The library would definitely come in handy though, it's not like Sting didn't wrestle for 15 years but that's how the Triple H-Sting feud came off, if WWE had purchased the TNA library, the feud would have been much different, allowing wrestlers going over to WWE to bring up their successful TNA runs and history.. That's just my two cents..

The backer behind TNA is Panda Energy, Dixie Carter's parents company. They are the ones who have kept TNA afloat all this time.

Yes, and that performers have been going unpaid points to the notion that Panda has stopped pouring money into TNA, telling them: "Pay your people from the proceeds of your business operations" .........which means TNA is on it's own, having been deserted by Destination America and Panda Energy.

If that's the case, it's not a pretty picture.

Never. Buying TNA would be a waste of money. WWE doesn't NEED anyone over there or else they'd have them already. Buying the tape library, yes. I 100% think they would be interested in that. Like others said, if only to own the footage of Angle, Sting, Hardy and maybe a few others.

No.

Why would they?

Nothing but WWE wash-outs left in TNA. And any of the guys they do want will end up on NXT like Samoa Joe. There's no value in TNA for them.

I do think Kurt Angle would be snapped up in good order by the WWE and Beer Money would do well as tag team specialists. It's even possible some of the TNA divas might be considered if the WWE wanted to build up their divas division.

I do think Kurt Angle would be snapped up in good order by the WWE....

It's just that WWE had the opportunity to "snap him up" before he signed his most recent contract with TNA. Negotiations were ongoing....and it didn't work out, possibly because Kurt wanted a salary or work schedule that the company wasn't willing to give him. I had the feeling Kurt was overestimating his value and legacy.

The only way he might sign with WWE is if, with one less avenue (TNA) open to him, he drops his contract demands and does it the way Vince McMahon wants it done.

Of course, all this depends on whether TNA is really about to go out of business.

TNA is not a threat to Vince so if he did want the library and a couple of wrestlers on the roster he would wait until it crumbled and he could get them for pennies on a dollar. I'm sure an outright sale of the company would involve a job for Dixie in WWE.
If he bought them out to use as another show and move some of the lesser used WWE talent he would find it hard to find a TV outlet just like he did with WCW and will with TNA. Hey, it's got the perfect sexist name so TNA could be Vince's new Diva promotion.

It would be a smart move for WWE to attempt to purchase TNA if it does in fact shut down as a federation. If TNA's footage were to get put onto The Network then their fanbase would surely create a nice increase in the membership numbers, as they would want to watch the old footage of their favorites. It would be a good chance for the WWE fans who don't watch TNA to find out more about who they were or for those who stopped watching at some point to get caught up on that brand.

Then there's the inevitable question of what TNA wrestlers would begin working in a WWE ring? Samoa Joe has joined the federation. This moment made it seem all the more possible to bring in TNA wrestlers whether it be through NXT first or straight to the main roster. I'd doubt any of TNA's Championships would be used for anything other than maybe the X-Division Championship for the whole Option C thing, if they even do that anymore. I stopped watching TNA 2 years ago so I'm going off of what I remember. Maybe we would see tributes through taglines of NXT Takeover events featuring TNA wrestlers under names like the following:

NXT Takeover: Impact
NXT Takeover: Genesis
NXT Takeover: Bound For Glory
NXT Takeover: Lockdown

Also, how awesome would it be to see any of the following debut and/or return?

Wrestlers
Austin Aries
Bobby Roode
Drew Galloway as Drew McIntyre
Ethan Carter III
James Storm
Jeff Hardy (I'd see him returning straight to the main roster)
Kurt Angle (Definitely another return straight to the main roster)
Lashley
Matt Hardy
Mr. Anderson as Mr Kennedy
MVP

No Eric Young though, please.

Divas
Angelina Love
Awesome Kong as Kharma
Brooke Tessmacher
Madison Rayne
Mickie James (main divas roster return)
Taryn Terrell as Tiffany
Velvet Sky

Those are just the names that come to mind for me who I remember or knew of their work elsewhere. I know I may be missing more from the last couple of years that I didn't watch. They would be good additions to the roster and while it may seem an impossibility for many of you.... Sting came to WWE. After that, it brought back some legitimacy to the old line "Anything can happen in the WWE".

So, yes. If they can make a profit out of it, WWE should purchase TNA if TNA does close down and the opportunity arises.

I can't really see more than a couple of wrestlers that would be seriously considered by the WWE. Kurt Angle is the only wrestler that would be a certainty if he can pass a physical but with their NXT program producing younger talents to the main roster, who needs the late 30's wrestlers in TNA.
