LADIES AND GENTLEMEN ... Welcome to ...

THE "BT!" FACTOR 2013!

As per discussions in the BT Lounge, this is a competition for all you budding or established BT'ers to show that you are the true star of the "Book This!" world. Do you think that you can write the best promos in the business? Can you piece together the perfect WrestleMania show-stealing match? Have you got the best ideas for storylines and it is a crying shame that the suits at WWE and TNA are unaware of you? Well, here is your chance to prove it. Sign up (if you haven't already done so), enter the competition and show the world that you are the man (or woman) when it comes to wrestling booking.

"I want to enter the competition, GCB! Give me the details ..."

OK then, as you wish. How will it work? I am simply going to organise the competition, I am not taking part in it. I am going to promote it far and wide (via Twitter) and I urge you to do the same as well as across Wrestlezone's other forums. There are going to be a series of short tasks. I am aiming to make these tasks things that you can do in an hour and there will be a new task every couple of weeks. Each time there is a new task, there will be a deadline and then the BT world will vote for which people deserve to stay in the competition. And, a little like the song contest X-Factor which is nothing like this competition, somebody will be eliminated.

"So what comes first?"

Well, first, you need to audition and prove yourself worthy of a chance to win the competition. What I need from you is an audition task that shows you are made of the right stuff to become The "BT!" Factor champion. And that task will go like this ...

ROUND 1: BOOK WRESTLEMANIA 29!
WrestleMania 29 in New York / New Jersey is just three months away now. As the WWE gears themselves up for the beginning of the "Road to WrestleMania" at the Royal Rumble, I want to know what you would do if you were in charge. I want you to outline which matches you would book for the WrestleMania 29 event and give a brief summary/synopsis of how the match would come about and how it would happen on the night, i.e. who would win it?

WORD LIMIT: 2000 words or less

DEADLINE: 21:00 GMT on Sunday January 6, 2013. (14 days from now)

Why GMT? Because I'm organising it and I live in Britain so ...

Whilst I'm not looking for in depth detail (2000 words seems a lot but it isn't really), I would suggest that you move beyond writing out a list of matches with winners. I will personally be looking for reasons behind the storylines and a brief idea of what will happen in the match. Whilst formatting, grammar and punctuation aren't a must, I know that if I find something difficult to read that I will be less likely to score it highly and vote for it to go through. So, I would suggest that you run it through Word's spelling and grammar check before posting it and make sure it is formatted sensibly to make it easy to read.

When you have written your entry, PM it to myself and I will post all of the entries at the same time. I will then provide details on how to vote and you can PM me your votes so that we can determine who is to be eliminated etc ... I repeat - DO NOT POST YOUR ENTRY HERE! PM IT TO ME!

OK then, get on with it!

Any questions, feel free to ask me in the BT Lounge or via PM. The competition is open to anybody. I look forward to reading your entries in two weeks.

GOOD LUCK!

Deadline moved to 21:00 GMT on Sunday January 13, 2013. This is to allow Peep to enter as he is away for next couple of weeks. I think we'd all be in agreement that we'd like to see him enter!

RESPONSE TO A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS RE: THE CONTEST:

I've been asked a couple of questions via PM so I'll answer them here so that everybody gets the answers.

Do we need a pre-show?
Not particularly. If you want to, go for it. However, if it is just a generic Battle Royale at WrestleMania to get jobbers and undercard wrestlers on the WM show, why bother?

If I do MITB, do I need a story behind it?
Your call. Most of the time, the WWE simply have MITB done through qualifiers but there are usually a couple of burning background stories, i.e. when Miz and Morrison were both in the MITB match for example. If you are having MITB, it's up to you - if you could come up with a story that didn't feel forced that encompassed all or most of the men involved, I'd be impressed! But I would be fine with a description of the qualifying needed if there was no real story behind it.

How will the voting be done?
Simple. I will post the PM's that you've sent me. Then I will ask you to PM me with the participants ranked in order. I will use these orders to score them and the lowest scores will be out. Depends how many entries we have as to how many people are eliminated in each round - I've got five ideas for stages (inc. this one) so I'd want it to end at that point.

Advice - I would suggest Round 1 (the audition) just needs to make sense and have a solid reasoning behind it. For each decision, ask yourself: Why am I having this match? Does it make sense? What are the reasons for it? Then you'll have a gut instinct for whether or not to include it or not.

Don't forget entries are needed to be in by a week on Sunday, 21:00 GMT. I already have entries in from - Bocaj, georgelfc and Straight Edge Swagger. Thanks you three. GCB

p.s. Nouration - if you're serious, read the guidelines and resubmit via PM please.

No GCB, thank you. I love the idea of this booking competition, and I'm very confident in my audition. Can't wait to see what's next.

WELCOME TO THE AUDITION ROUND FOR THE BT-FACTOR!

We begin our journey to crown the top booker on ‘Book This!’ with the audition round where users were asked to provide a summary of the WrestleMania 29 PPV with information about the backstories and the actual matches. Details of how to vote will be posted after the entries have been posted.

We start with: BOCAJ

WWE Championship - Streak vs. Title
The Undertaker vs. CM Punk (C)
This would start on the first Raw after the Elimination Chamber. CM Punk would be boasting about how he survived the WWE Chamber and The Rock at the Royal Rumble. He would then go on to say that he has proven him self as the Best in the world and at Wrestlemania their is no one who can possibly beat him. Then the Undertaker's gong sounds. The arena goes dark and when the lights come back on, Undertaker is standing behind CM Punk holding the WWE Championship. At Wrestlemania, I would have the winner being The Undertaker to keep his streak alive but just to get more heat for Punk, he would get DQ'ed. This would mean Undertaker keeps his streak but he doesn't have to carry the WWE Championship around.
Winner = The Undertaker via DQ.
*******************************
World Heavyweight Championship - Triple Threat Match
Sheamus vs. Randy Orton (C) vs. John Cena
This would start when John Cena wins the Royal Rumble. When everyone thinks he is going to choose CM Punk to face at Wrestlemania, he chooses the winner of the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match, Randy Orton. This then makes the match of Randy Orton vs. John Cena however Sheamus, who won the title back from The Big Show at the Royal Rumble, wants his rematch from the Chamber. This then leads to the Smackdown general manager making a match. Sheamus vs. John Cena. If Sheamus wins then he gets added to the match. Sheamus then wins setting up the triple threat match. I'd have it so that all three men look like they could win the match but at the end, I'd have Randy Orton retain the Heavyweight Championship however I'd have him pin Sheamus but then after the match, I'd have Dolph Ziggler cash in the Money in the bank contract.
Winner = Randy Orton via Pinfall
*********************************
Street Fight
Brock Lesnar w/ Stephanie McMahon vs. Triple H w/ Shawn Michaels
This feud would start at the Royal Rumble. Triple H enters him self in the Royal Rumble as a suprise entrant. It comes down to him and John Cena. He would have John Cena about to go over the top rope but then Brock Lesnar's music would hit. Triple H would let go of John Cena ready to fight Brock Lesnar who would be standing on top of the ramp and then from out of nowhere, Stephanie McMahon would run into the ring from the opposite side of Triple H and throw him over screwing him. The next night on Monday Night Raw, Trips would demand answers from his wife. Stephanie would say that she needs a real man on her arm, that man is Brock Lesnar. This would then lead to Brock Lesnar holding Triple H on Raw. Stephanie would then go to whack him with a steel chair but Shawn would run down to the ring. At the Elimination Chamber, Brock vs Shawn would be the main event but Triple H's wife Steph would cost Shawn the match, the match would then get made of Brock vs Triple H at Wrestlemania and to close the feud Triple H would win in a street fight.
Winner = Triple H via Pinfall
**********************************
Legends Battle Royal to determend the new RAW General Manager
Mick Foley vs. Bret Hart vs. Brother Love vs. Ric Flair vs. Edge vs. Tommy Dreamer
This would start when Vince McMahon finds out that Vickie Guerrero has been lieing in her position, he would then announce that we need a new General Manager. Legends would then come each week as a test but Vince couldn't choose who so he has made a open battle royal for any superstars who are not on the active roster. At Wrestlemania it would be 6 legends who want the job. Mick Foley, Bret Hart, Brother Love, Ric Flair, Edge and Tommy Dreamer. In the end Edge would win last eliminating Mick Foley.
Winner = Edge via Elimination of Mick Foley.
******************************
#1 Contenders to the Tag Team Championship
Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd vs. Prime Time Players vs. The Usos vs. Primo and Epico
This would come along when Team Hell No say that they have defeated everyone and their is no one worthy of facing them again. Many teams would then come out and challenge Kane and D - Bry. Team Hell No would then suggest that at Wrestlemania all teams face off. The teams included would be Gabriel/Kidd, PTP, Usos, Primo/Epico and Khali/Horswoggle. The winners would be The Uso's finally giving them a push in the tag division.
Winner = Jimmy and Jey Uso via Pinfall
**********************************
Mask vs. Mask
Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara
This match would happen when Sin Cara returns at the Rumble. The next night on RAW, Sin Cara would blame Rey for what happened to him at TLC when they lost, Sin Cara would then turn heel. They would then face off at Elimination Chamber but they would come to a draw when the 20 minute time limit. Rey would say they need to see who the better man is and challenges Sin Cara to a rematch. Sin Cara would accept on one condition. Mask vs. Mask. I would have Rey Mysterio win this match and when Sin Cara goes to unmask, he reviels that he is now wearing face paint.
Winner = Rey Mysterio via Pinfall
*********************************
Money in the bank match.
Chris Jericho vs. Christian vs. The Miz vs. R Truth vs. Heath Slater vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Brodus Clay vs. Antonio Cesaro vs. Evan Bourne vs. John Morrison
Vince McMahon would reviel on the RAW after the Royal Rumble that their will now be a Money in the bank ladder match at Wrestlemania as well as on the Pay Per View. He would then announce a series of matches. He would also announce that there would be 4 returning superstars in the match. Chris Jericho would then come out and tells Vince he wants in the Rumble. Vince accepts his offer and then says that there are 3 more returning wrestlers. John Morrison, Evan Bourne and Christian then come out. At the Elimination Chamber, it is Chris Jericho, Christian, John Morrison, Evan Bourne and The Miz vs. R Truth, Heath Slater, Kofi Kingston, Brodus Clay and Antonio Cesaro since Truth, Kingston and Clay all turn heel. I would have John Morrison win the briefcase and he then cashes it in at Summerslam.
Winner = John Morrison via Grabbing the Briefcase.
************************************
Divas Championship
Eve (C) vs. Lita
This match would come about when Lita would return... she would then get jumped by Eve. Eve would say that it is her division and she is the queen and Lita's the peasant. The girls would then be feuding for dominance at the top of the division of divas. Vince would then tell Lita she has one chance at Wrestlemania to wrestle Eve for the championship gold which eve has. Lita then accepts the match and Lita vs Eve is made. I'd then have Lita win the Divas Championship from Eve.
Winner = Lita via Pinfall

WRESTLEMANIA 29:

DARK MATCH: Kaitlyn def. Eve Torres, Layla, Alicia Fox and Aksana to retain the Divas Championship.

MATCH 1 (Intercontinental Championship): Kofi Kingston © vs. Jack Swagger.

Yes, in the build-up to WrestleMania, well basically the RAW after Elimination Chamber, I’d have Jack Swagger screw Kofi Kingston in a match, effectively making his return and setting his sights on Kofi’s title. The next week, Kingston and Swagger would have a backstage brawl which would later be turned into a Tag Team match, whereas Kofi Kingston would team with Christian to face Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro. Swagger would pick up the win for his team, after rolling up Kingston with his feet on the ropes. The feud would later intensify some more the following week with Swagger attacking Kingston after a match. The two men would go back-and-forth for a couple of weeks with Swagger gaining the upper-hand most of the time. As the match started, Swagger would take early control, with the match evening up a bit as it progressed. Both men would hit their finishing moves, only for the other man to kick out. In the end, Kingston would reverse an attempted Gutwrench Powerbomb from Swagger, and turn it into a Trouble In Paradise to retain.

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT: CM Punk will hype up his match with The Undertaker for tonight. Punk will talk about him being the Best In The World, and how he will end Undertaker’s streak. He talks about surpassing 500 days as WWE Champion, and goes through the names he’s beaten, he says that The Rock maybe main-eventing WrestleMania tonight, but as always, CM Punk will steal the show.

MATCH 2: Sin Cara vs. Rey Mysterio.

After both men being taken out by The Shield, Rey Mysterio returns individually to face Dean Ambrose at Elimination Chamber. Mysterio was on the verge to defeating Ambrose until Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins appeared, they began to beat down Mysterio and brought a table into the ring, but before they could hit their huge powerbomb, Sin Cara came out with a Steel Chair in hand, he scared The Shield off before hitting Mysterio in the back with the chair. On the following RAW, after Rey Mysterio cut a promo on Sin Cara, Cara assaulted him from behind with another Steel Chair. The next week, Mysterio challenged Sin Cara to a match at WrestleMania, with the loser having to unmask themself. But whilst Sin Cara was about to speak, he instead smashed Mysterio in the head with the microphone before accepting the challenge. As the weeks went on, Mysterio and Sin Cara were involved in numerous battles, and in one scenario, Sin Cara almost unmasked Mysterio after beating him down, but Mysterio managed to escape from the ring. The bell rang, and the fans were into the match from the outset. Mysterio gained most control, although the match was mostly even throughout. Both men tried to unmask each other forgetting about the actual stipulations. Mysterio had Cara in position for the 619, but when Rey was about to hit it, Sin Cara pulled Mysterio’s mask off, similar to what Chris Jericho did a couple of years ago. Whilst Rey tried to cover his face, Cara went for a small package and managed to grab the win. Mysterio continued to cover his face after the match as Sin Cara looked on. Rey finally decided to show his face to a thunderous applaud from the fans. Sin Cara exchanged his hand to Mysterio, who accepted. Both men shook hands and hugged to end the segment.

SEGMENT: After the match, we were taken backstage where we see John Cena preparing for his match with The Rock. Cena looked ready and focused, we then moved to another camera where we saw The Rock getting ready for his match with John Cena. We were then taken to a video package, highlighting the World Heavyweight Championship scene.

MATCH 3 (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP): Dolph Ziggler with AJ Lee© vs. Sheamus vs. Randy Orton.

At the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton returned from injury to cost Sheamus from winning the World Title, turning Orton heel. Then at Elimination Chamber, after Sheamus had pinned Big Show to win the World Title in an Elimination Chamber match, Orton returned to the ring to Punt Sheamus. Dolph Ziggler then ran out with his Money In The Bank briefcase in tow, to cash in and win the World Title. On the following Smackdown, Ziggler and AJ held a party, celebrating his World Title win which was interrupted by Sheamus who attacked Ziggler. Orton ran out and made it a two-on-one attack, and after both men had laid Sheamus out, Ziggler Zig-Zagged Orton, and made out with AJ over both men. The following Smackdown, it was Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Big Show to see who would go on to face Ziggler at WM. Both Orton and Sheamus had Show in a submission, which caused Show to tap out. Ziggler then took both men out. Booker T then announced that at WrestleMania, they’d all face off in a Triple Threat match. In the end, Dolph Ziggler managed to retain, Sheamus brogue kicked Orton, before getting distracted by AJ, Ziggler then hit a Zig-Zag on Sheamus to retain. Ziggler and AJ made out again after the match.

MATCH 4 (Tag Team Championships): Kane and Daniel Bryan © vs. Team Rhode Scholars vs. Primetime Players vs. Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel in a 4 way TLC match.

Kane and Bryan have managed to keep hold of the title’s through WrestleMania season, with three teams butting-heads hoping to get a title shot. All three teams were placed in a tournament to see who would get a championship shot, but it all ended in chaos, when in the final match of the tournament, Team Hell No interrupted and took every single tag team out. The decision was then made to make this match. In the match, though, there were some massive spots such as Daniel Bryan throwing Damien Sandow off a ladder into a pile of tables, Tyson Kidd hitting a huge powerbomb on Cody Rhodes at the top of the ladder, and in the end, three ladders were set up in the middle of the ring, Team Hell No were on one ladder, Team Rhode Scholars were on the other, and Tyson Kidd and Gabriel were on the other, as Primetime Players were knocked out. Team Hell No managed to fight each team off, before the Primetime Players entered and threw Bryan and Kane off the ladder. Titus O’Neil then climbed the ladder and grabbed the titles, Young and O’Neil celebrated after the match by doing their dance up the ramp.

MATCH 5: United States Championship: Antonio Cesaro © vs. Christian

Christian made his return at the Royal Rumble and eliminated Antonio Cesaro, in retaliation, Cesaro caused Christian to be eliminated. On RAW the next night, Christian pinned Cesaro in a one-on-one match, RAW managing superviser, Vickie Guerrero, then made a match between both men for WrestleMania, but this time, for Cesaro’s US Title. Christian gave a valiant effort, and almost pinned Cesaro with the Killswitch, but victory wasn’t meant-to-be for Captain Charisma, as Cesaro low-blowed Christian, before connecting with a Neutralizer to retain the United States Championship. Cesaro then said, “victory” in five different languages before walking to the back. Christian then emerged, and stood up to an applause from the WWE Universe, as we cut to a video package highlighting Extreme Rules.

MATCH 6: Ryback, Big Show, The Miz and Alberto Del Rio vs. The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Kassius Ohno)

At Elimination Chamber, The Shield managed to break into the Chamber whilst Ryback was in the final two with CM Punk and help Punk win. The following night on RAW, whilst Ryback was destroying all three men, a new man emerged, Kassius Ohno came out with a steel pipe, and hit Ryback in the temple with it. All four men beat Ryback down until other superstars came out for the save. The following week, whilst Ryback was facing Big Show, The Shield interrupted and began to take out Ryback, Big Show who was very annoyed, began to help Ryback, but the numbers game caught up on Show which brought Miz and Del Rio out for the save, a match was then announced the following week. The Shield managed to win the match at WrestleMania, after Big Show accidentally knocked Ryback out with the K.O punch. Show apologised to Ryback after the match, whilst The Shield celebrated up the ramp, but an angry Ryback began to attack the Big Show, and hit Shell-Shocked on him! The fans were in shock that Ryback managed to hit Shell Shocked as Ryback walked off whilst officials tended to Big Show in the ring.

MATCH 7: Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H.

After interrupting numerous matches on RAW, Brock Lesnar called out The Game. Though there was no reply from Triple H, this didn’t stop Lesnar. Lesnar continued to interrupt matches until he got what he want..Triple H. Whilst Lesnar was attacking Zack Ryder and Santino Marella after their match, Triple H came out for the save and took Lesnar out. The following week Triple H challenged Lesnar and Lesnar accepted. They both went back and forth on RAW, before the match took place. Triple H managed to gain retribution against Lesnar after reversing the Kimura Lock into a Pedigree. Triple H celebrated with the fans in attendance after the match as Lesnar walked to the back looking less-than-pleased. Lesnar promised to get Hunter back, as the announcers started to focus on our next match up.

MATCH 8 (WWE Championship): CM Punk © vs. The Undertaker.

After winning the Elimination Chamber match and retaining the WWE Championship, CM Punk came out on RAW the next day proclaiming that nobody could defeat him. Punk said that he’d done it all, and that the people have no other choice than to call him the Best In The World. The lights then went out, when the lights came back on, The Undertaker was stood behind Punk, Punk turned around into a huge Tombstone Piledriver. Undertaker then posed with the title. The following RAW, Punk asked Undertaker to explain his actions and ‘Taker did. Undertaker said that he is and always will be the best in the world. There will never be another Undertaker, whilst there will be thousands of CM Punk’s waiting in line. Undertaker said that if Punk beats him at WM, he will admit that CM Punk is the best in the world. Undertaker and CM Punk shared control in the match, and Undertaker’s age seemed to take a toll on him as whilst ‘Taker’s energy was fading, Punk’s was getting bigger. ‘Taker hit Punk with the Tombstone but Punk managed to kick out, Undertaker then kicked out of the GTS. After numerous of counters, Punk countered a Tombstone, and hit Undertaker with a GTS to get the win, and to end Undertaker’s legendary streak. After the match, Punk celebrated with the title as Undertaker got up. Undertaker put his hand out, and after some hesitation, Punk shook his hand. Undertaker then called Punk the Best In The World as Punk celebrated. The lights went out, and when they came back on, Undertaker had disappeared with Punk looking confused.

MAIN EVENT: The Rock vs. John Cena.

At the Royal Rumble, John Cena came out during Rock’s bout with CM Punk, which ended with Cena inadvertedly distracting The Rock giving CM Punk the win. On the following RAW, John Cena faced Dolph Ziggler. Cena had Ziggler up for the AA, when The Rock came out and hit Cena with the Rock Bottom, giving Dolph the win. On the following RAW, Cena called out The Rock and a rematch was made for WrestleMania. Both men exchanged words throughout the build-up to Mania. In the end, though, it was John Cena who gained Bragging rights as he defeated The Rock with an Attitude Adjustment, whilst The Rock was getting ready to hit the People’s Elbow. After the match, John Cena celebrated as The Rock whispered, “one-one” claiming Rock has one victory, and Cena has one victory. Cena and Rock, though, shook hands ending their two year rivalry as WrestleMania went off the air with John Cena celebrating.

WRESTLEMANIA XXIX
April 7th, 2013 - Metlife Stadium (East Rutherford, New Jersey)

~Opening Match
United States Championship
Antonio Cesaro (C) vs Jack Swagger

The build to this match is pretty simple. Cesaro has been a dominate champion that "no American can beat". He'll continue to defend his title into 2013, until the return of the All-American American himself. Returning Swagger against Cesaro helps with the face turn, who doesn't love a Patriot? Hoping to get the crowd hot with this opener. The IWC floods WrestleMania every year, and will be pretty vocal in favor of Cesaro. The rest of the fans will be pulling for Captain America Swagger. Back and forth contest, Swagger is unable to put him away with the Gutwrench Powerbomb, but eventually forces Cesaro to tap to the Ankle Lock, and relinquish his United States Championship to the All-American American.

[[Winner and NEW United States Champion: Jack Swagger]]

~Match #2
WWE Tag Team Championships
Team Hell No (C) vs Prime Time Players vs Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs Team Rhodes Scholars

The tag team division is hot, so we're giving the stars of the division a chance to shine with a Four Corners championship bout. Typical with these match ups, organization is lost, and chaos ensues. In the closing moments of the match, Daniel Bryan has locked the No Lock! on Cody Rhodes center ring. Unfortunately for Bryan, Darren Young made the blind tag, and breaks the submission with a stomp to Byran's head. Taking advantage of the opening, he'll hit Bryan with his Double Knee Gutbuster and pick up the win, securing the championships for him and big Titus.

[[Winners and NEW Tag Team Champions: Prime Time Players]]

~Match #3
Sheamus vs Randy Orton
This match is driven by nothing more than competition. Smackdown's biggest stars, and perennial World Title contenders were both unsuccessful in attempting to capture the World Heavyweight Championship on the road to WrestleMania. A game of one upmanship and the developing question of who is better leads to Sheamus and Orton agreeing to meet on the Grandest Stage of them all. Throughout the match, Randy shows signs of frustration while trying to defeat the Celtic Warrior. In the end, Orton falls short after Sheamus pushes out of his RKO and connects with a Brogue Kick. The ever gracious winner, Sheamus extends a hand of respect to the Apex Predator post match, which Orton receives and shakes. Once Sheamus' back has turned however, a shocking low blow from Orton drops the Great White to all fours. A stunned crowd watches as Orton slowly backs into a corner, pausing as the inner conflict is expressed on his face before suddenly exploding forward and punting Sheamus square in the dome. Standing over his fallen prey, Randy Orton most definitely has some explaining to do.

[[Winner: Sheamus]]

~Match #4
Intercontinental Championship
Wade Barrett (C) vs Alberto Del Rio vs The Miz

No deep build to this one. Just a typical battle over one of WWE's most prestigious titles. All three of these upper mid card/lower main event talents become intertwined leading up to Mania after both Del Rio and Miz are able to pick up non title victories over current champion Barrett, but neither are able defeat Wade when it counts the most. A 1-on-1 bout between Del Rio and Miz to determine Barrett's WrestleMania opponent ends in a No Contest when the champion decides to take matters into his own hands and interrupt the match. That plan backfires in his face when a triple threat match is announced for the Pay-Per-View. Though there are many close calls, Barrett is able to overcome the odds, and retain the Intercontinental Championship.

[[Winner and STILL Intercontinental Champion: Wade Barrett]]

~Match #5
Hardcore Match
Dolph Ziggler vs Mick Foley

The meteoric rise of Dolph Ziggler to main event status continues past his rivalry with John Cena, and is now left seeking his place in WrestleMania. This really picks up once Mick Foley is announced as the headliner for the Hall of Fame class of 2013. Foley then takes it upon himself to show up semi-regularly on RAW to announce each new member to this year's class. Something Ziggler takes offense to. Why is this has been, who Ziggler silenced after Survivor Series, getting both praise and attention each week on Monday Night RAW? Isn't this show about how damn good Dolph Ziggler is? Well that's how Mr. Money in the Bank feels, and he makes it very clear. Casual interruptions and back and forth promo's turn into a very serious and personal conflict between the two. Foley questions Ziggler for hiding behind not just Big E Langston, but even AJ Lee. A comment by Ziggler that really opens the flood gates comes when he reminds Foley of his last WrestleMania match, his Hardcore Encounter with Edge. Dolph promises he could and would destroy Foley far beyond anything the Rated R Superstar dished out 7 years ago in Chicago. Foley admits Edge and Ziggler are similar in many ways, but are far more different. He puts Edge over, and while acknowledging that Ziggler has loads of potential, proclaims Dolph is no where near Edge's league. Tired of the disrespect, Ziggler would eventually lay down the challenge to Foley for a Hardcore Match at WrestleMania. It would take a week or two for Foley to accept, but once Ziggler get's physical with the soon to be hall of famer, Foley but can't wait to get his hands on the young stud. A rare appearance by Edge himself to host an edition of The Cutting Edge with both Foley and Ziggler as Guest's really ties this feud together. Dolph and Foley go on to deliver a physical, weapons filled, HOLY SH*T type of match. Would probably be considered the show stealer at this point in the night. Ziggler would defeat Foley, earning just a little bit of respect and credibility along the way.

[[Winner: Dolph Ziggler]]

~Match #6
World Heavyweight Championship
Big Show (C) vs Ryback

The Big Show survives his war with Sheamus, still World Heavyweight Champion. After a small feud with Alberto Del Rio through the January, and a successful title defense inside the Elimination Chamber, the Big Show indeed appears unstoppable. Enter Ryback, winner of the 2013 Royal Rumble match. Since winning the Rumble, Ryback seemed dead set on finally becoming WWE Champion. Big Show however can't leave well enough alone. On occasion between the Rumble and Elimination Chamber, Big Show takes any opportunity he can to insist that Ryback choose to challenge for the WWE title. He mentions how this is Ryback's chance to finally get revenge for all the times he failed in defeating Punk and becoming champion. At first, Ryback shows no reaction to Big Show's mind games. But as Big Show continues to poke and poke, questions of the 7 footer being scared to face Ryback arise. Upset, Big Show now begins to put Ryback down anytime he's asked about a potential match up. He would destroy Ryback, he would knock him out so cold, he would think his name was Skip Sheffield. Ryback promises to reveal which title he'll challenge for at the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View. After Big Show is able to retain the title inside the chamber, Ryback makes a march to the ring. Unknown to the World's Largest Athlete, Ryback has entered the Chamber, and moments later, floors Big Show with a big Meat Hook clothesline. Without a mic, Ryback then shouts down to the Big Show, that April 7th, will be feeding time! Typical feud follows leading up to the big night. If this match can be anything like Big Show vs Sheamus at Hell in a Cell, then we have a winner. Ryback being able to Shell Shock the Big Show is the highlight of the match, and a true WrestleMania Moment. Three seconds later Ryback is victorious, and truly atop the food chain.

[[Winner and NEW World Heavyweight Champion: Ryback]]

~Match #7
The Shield vs Triple H, The Undertaker, & Shawn Michaels
Dean Ambrose. Seth Rollins. Roman Reigns. The Sheild. Their personal war against injustice continues well into WrestleMania season. After conflicts with Ryback, Randy Orton, and Team Hell No simmer down, the 3 upstarts lock on to a new target. WWE COO, Triple H. After questionable involvement by The Game in the WWE Championship match at Elimination Chamber (explained later), The Shields new objective is to rid the WWE Universe of the 2nd in command. Attacks and muggings on Triple H by the Shield become a common theme on RAW in the weeks after Elimination Chamber. After the first assault, they're quick to give their reasoning behind the attacks, but promise they will not stop until Triple H is out of power and out of the WWE. For the first time ever, Triple H appears desperate. He begins a search for soldiers he can take to war with The Shield. *The New Age Outlaws step up to help their brother, but are quickly put down by The Shield after a backstage assault. Triple H then goes to long time friend, Shawn Michaels. The Game is seen backstage on the phone, and it's no secret who he's talking to, using the name Shawn a few times. He sounds unsuccessful in his attempt to bring HBK back across the war lines, but still proclaims that he really needs him to have his back. A week later, footage of Triple H visiting Shawn in San Antonio is shown on RAW. HBK again rejects the offer, announcing he's happy in retirement and is perfectly fine with how his career ended. Triple H turns the conversation and puts on the full court press to try and persuade his best friend. Facial expressions are key, as Shawn seems to be at least considering it. This is before Shawn's wife interrupts, and demands that Triple H leave her house now. Seemingly a man without an army, Triple H shows up on next week's RAW, and surprises everyone by announcing his back up has arrived tonight. Later after being outnumbered in the ring, the "HBK" chants get louder and louder, before an unexpected GONG! sends the crowd into a frenzy as the lights go out. Moments later, The Undertaker appears center ring, and cleans house. The Shield retreat, and after helping The Game to his feet, the Undertaker and Triple H firmly shake hands. The Game has a partner. Hunter would grab a mic, and make one final plea to Shawn, knowing damn well he was watching. Triple H announces that at WrestleMania, he and The Undertaker will be facing the The Shield. He tells Shawn it's up to him if that match is a Handicap Match, or an even 6 man battle. With 13 days left until WrestleMania, Ric Flair returns to RAW. When asked why he is here, Flair reveals that Triple H asked him personally to come to RAW to try and court Shawn Michaels out of retirement. Something he knows all about. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Ric Flair are all under one roof, but Flair never gets the chance to speak with Shawn. Flair is found locked in a bathroom backstage, severely beaten. Later in the show, The Shield show the footage of them destroying Ric Flair, and warn Shawn that if he sticks his nose where it doesn't belong, that he'll face the same fate as the 16 time World Champion. In ring, Triple H give one last yelling effort while face to face with Shawn. Before he can get an answer, The Shield storm the ring, and the fight is on once more. While Ambrose and Reigns work on Triple H, HBK is able to catch Rollins with a Super Kick. Then a little Sweet Chin Music for Reigns as well. Ambrose is able to avoid a kick in his direction, and guides his comrades out through the crowd. Shawn helps Hunter to his feet. Visibly frustrated and conflicted, HBK takes one last look back at The Shield, then nods to Triple H and offers his hand. It's official! On the final RAW before WrestleMania, an intense in ring back and forth conversation between the two teams sells the match. Undertaker, Triple H, and HBK remind the trio what they've not only accomplished in their careers, but over the last 5 WrestleMania's. They're epic encounters define WrestleMania, and they promise The Shield that on the biggest stage, the sword of justice will be turned on them. Never phased, The Shield promise to permanently retire Shawn Michaels, end The Undertaker's undefeated streak, and rid the WWE of Triple H. Come show time, the match is fairly even. However an unexpected run in by Ric Flair turns the match in the veterans favor, and The Undertaker is able to pick up the victory after dropping Ambrose with a Tombstone Piledriver. We then witness one final collective WrestleMania moment for Triple H, The Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels with Ric Flair. Justice has been served.

[[Winners: Triple H, The Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels]]

~Match #8
Mixed Tag Team Match
AJ Lee & Big E Langston vs Kaitlyn & Michael Strahan

Hey WWE Universe, tune in to "LIVE! with Kelly and Michael" tomorrow when AJ Lee will be a Guest on the show. Live from New York, AJ will discuss a number of topics, including WrestleMania! There ya go. AJ appears on the morning show, and is having a nice little chat about Mania and being from New Jersey and what not, when Michael Strahan inquires about her questionable behavior. AJ starts to act all sketchy, then Michaels drops the "C" bomb. Crazy. Before AJ can really react, out comes Big E Langston. Strahan is taken back, and Kelly even hides behind her co-host. AJ explains that her friend Big E here doesn't take too well to people calling her crazy. Strahan claims it was all a misunderstanding, but Langston closes in, and is almost face to face with the former New York Giant's all-pro. AJ recommends that Strahan apologize, and he eventually does so. It wouldn't be as serious as it sounds. They'd have to keep the live crowd in go it. The use of Crazy, and Kelly and Michael being intimidated by Langston would probably come off a bit funny. AJ tells Big E they're leaving, and she skips away as Langston follows. Michael and Kelly make a joke or two, then continue with their show. Meanwhile in WWE, a serious feud between friends turned not so much friends, AJ and Kaitlyn begins to develop. Kaitlyn has already dethroned Eve for the Diva's championship, and now her and AJ are at each other's throat trying to prove they are the top diva in the company. A good two weeks after AJ's appearance on Kelly and Michael, Kaitlyn is now a guest. Of course they push the hell out of WrestleMania, then they start ragging on AJ and Big E. Surprise surprise, AJ and Big E arrive uninvited and trash talk ensues. Strahan eventually speaks up when Big E attempts to intimidate Kaitlyn. Strahan suggests that Big E pick on someone his own size. AJ eventually delivers the challenge, and suggests Michael Strahan and Kaitlyn face her and Big E at WrestleMania. Michael relies on the live crowd and even his co-host Kelly for an answer, and all support him stepping into the ring. The challenge is accepted, and the match is set. Strahan probably makes one RAW appearance, but WWE will keep this match relevant through social media. Our celebrity match is up, and Strahan should receive a good pop. The 6 foot 5 inch Superbowl Champion New York Giants legend turned co-host of one of New York's most popular morning show's, strutting down to the ring in the middle of Metlife Stadium would be one of the more successful celebrity involvements in Mania's history. A simple match carried mostly by the Diva's ends when Strahan levels Big E Langston with a monster tackle, allowing Kaitlyn to pick up the victory over AJ Lee.

[[Winners: Kaitlyn and Michael Strahan]]

~Match #9
Winner earns a title shot - Loser leaves WWE forever
The Rock vs Brock Lesnar

The Great One returns at the Royal Rumble in an attempt to become the new WWE Champion. An epic encounter between CM Punk and The Rock ends in shocking fashion when Brock Lesnar returns for the first time since SummerSlam, and puts Rocky down with an F-5. CM Punk capitalizes on the opportunity, pinning The Rock to retain his WWE Championship. The next night on RAW, CM Punk and Paul Heyman are celebrating the big victory in the middle of the ring. Punk puts over Heyman for always being 3 steps ahead, suggesting he planned the Lesnar attack to help Punk. Heyman keeps trying to tell Punk something, but the WWE Champion is on a roll, proclaiming he had The Rock right where he wanted him, and would have beat him regardless. Heyman finally gets Punk's attention, and when the agitated champion asks what Heyman wants, they're both interrupted by the music of Brock Lesnar. Confused, Punk listens on as Brock reveals that what Heyman wants to tell him, is that he promised Brock a WWE Championship match if he helped Punk defeat The Rock. Punk.. freaks out. Over the next few weeks, Heyman finds himself being pulled in two directions. Should he support CM Punk, or Brock Lesnar. Triple H is livid that Heyman was able to weasel Lesnar back into the WWE. Adding his disdain for CM Punk to his hatred for Lesnar and Heyman, and Triple H is less than stoked for the championship showdown scheduled for the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View. Suspicious of Paul and Brock's intentions, Triple H names himself Special Guest Referee for the upcoming match. Punk takes plenty of shots at both Lesnar and Triple H leading up to the match, creating a very hostile environment come match time. Triple H remains impartial as Punk closes in on a victory, pinning Lesnar after a series of head kicks. As Triple H is about to count the 3, Heyman is seen putting Brock's foot on the bottom rope for a break. Infuriated, Punk drags Heyman into the ring. The Game attempts to keep focus on the match, and grabs to remove Heyman from the ring, only for Paul E to turn and slap the Game. Now boiling, Triple H Pedigree's Heyman. Brock uses this opening to low blow Punk, then begins brawling with Triple H. Once Lesnar and The Game return to the ring, Punk is able to low blow Lesnar himself, and roll him back for a school boy pin. Choosing to ignore the low blow, and even Punk's hand full of tights, Triple H counts the 3. Another successful defense for Punk, who books it lost match. Stunned, Brock challenges Triple H's call, only to be Pedigree'd for his troubles. The next night on RAW, Lesnar and Heyman arrive together and are soon seen storming into Triple H's office, surrounded by security. Heyman and Lesnar explain there displeasure with Triple H's actions before The Game cuts them off, and informs Heyman his WWE contract has been terminated and he's fired! Security escorts Heyman from the room, and Lesnar promises Triple H's night is far from over. A possible collision between Lesnar and The Game is hyped during the show. A short time later however, Triple H is seen being mugged backstage by the Shield and ends up spending the rest of the show in the Trainer's room. Lesnar still comes to the ring towards the end of the show, and challenges Triple H to come fight him. Obviously The Game is in no condition to fight, and as Brock begins insulting the Game he gets interrupted. IF YA SMELLLLLLLL! The Rock shoots down the ramp like a bat out of hell, and starts laying the Smackdown. After a spit filled punch sends Brock out of the ring, the night ends with an intense Rock standing tall. The ultimatum is eventually given to Lesnar, that he'll have to defeat The Rock if he wants another chance to become WWE Champion. Brock eventually agrees, but an additional stipulation is added, ruling that the loser must leave the WWE, forever! A few RAW appearances and serious Rock promos get us to WrestleMania. BIG FIGHT FEEL going into this match, and the crowd is probably divided a bit. Hard fought battle is eventually won by The Rock, earning him another shot at the WWE Title, and vanquishing Brock Lesnar from the WWE for good.

[[Winner: The Rock]]

~Main Event
WWE Championship
CM Punk (C) vs John Cena

This main event writes itself. It was only a matter of time before Punk and Cena's paths crossed over WrestleMania. On this crazy road to WrestleMania, CM Punk has found every way imaginable to hold on to his WWE Championship. John Cena himself had to scratch and claw to find his way back to WrestleMania's main event, and he almost missed his shot. After a loss to Big E Langston in January, due to Ziggler interference, Cena was forced to enter the Royal Rumble at #1 due to a pre-match stipulation. It looked as if Cena was going to go the distance and win the whole thing. The final four saw John Cena, Dolph Ziggler who entered at #13, Big E Langston who entered at #20, and Ryback who entered at #28. Working together, Cena and Ryback were able to eliminate Ziggler and Langston. And then there were two. Back and forth action ended in heartbreak for the Cenation Leader after being eliminated by Ryback. Fortunately for Cena, Ryback could only challenge for one championship at WrestleMania. And with CM Punk being forced to defend his title against Brock Lesnar at Elimination Chamber, the second Chamber match of the evening would determine the number 1 contender for which ever champion Ryback did not choose to challenge. Knowing full well this would be his last chance, Cena rises to the occasion and exits the Elimination Chamber victorious, his ticket punched to WrestleMania. Punk vs Cena has developed into the best rivalry in the WWE today, perhaps the best since Rock and Austin. CM Punk's title reign surpasses 500 days by the time we reach WrestleMania. Just as important, is John Cena agreeing to never challenge CM Punk for the title again if he were to lose to the champion at WrestleMania. Following tradition set by all their previous encounters, Punk and Cena would have the fans on the edge of their seats for what would probably be a classic Mania main event. In the end, history is made when for the first time.. CM Punk submits to the STF, effectively ending his monumental title reign. WrestleMania ends with a John Cena title celebration of epic proportions.

Wrestlemania 29

United States Championship Match
Antonio Cesaro © vs. Christian

After his impressive victory over The Great Khali on Main Event, things looked to be all honky dory for Antonio Cesaro. He went on to defeat Zack Ryder in an open challenge for the pre-show at the Royal Rumble and a returning face, Jack Swagger at Elimination Chamber. With those two wins under his belt, Cesaro would be going into Wrestlemania a champion. WWE passed word down onto him that he would open Wrestlemania 29. Cesaro bragged about how WWE entrusted him to start out the show right and to set the bar for the rest of the show. He once again said that no American could beat him for the title but was interrupted by a returning Christian. Christian stated that no American may beat him but maybe a Canadian could. They would go on to feud in the lead up to Wrestlemania. Christian even defeated Cesaro in a non-title match that very same day he returned. We didn’t know whether the match would happen at Wrestlemania though because on the third week, Cesaro bashed a chair onto Christian’s ankle. Christian would take the 4th week off and did actually arrive at Wrestlemania 29. Their match at WM29 was a good opener as the finish came when Christian ran with a full head of steam towards Cesaro but was hit with the uppercut which later was transitioned into the Neutralizer for the win.

Intercontinental Championship Match
Wade Barrett © vs. Kassius Ohno

The Bareknuckle Fighter had a conundrum on his hands. Kassius Ohno made his debut on the first RAW of 2013. He claimed that Barrett stole his elbow finisher from him. They would exchange stories as to who really was the originator of the move. Kofi was still clamoring for a rematch so Vickie Guerrero put Kingston and Ohno in a #1 Contender’s Match which Kofi won. Then Barrett got on the mic right after the match and said that he would defend his IC Title during the Rumble Match itself against Kingston. He thwarted Kofi Kingston’s revenge on getting his IC Title back at the Royal Rumble. Since they both knew that they would be #1 and #2 in the RR match, Barrett proposed that if he is thrown out of the ring before Kofi, then he would win the title. Barrett and Kofi were in the final four at the Royal Rumble with Cena and Ryback. Ryback threw Kofi out but he landed on his hands, going towards the steel steps to once again save himself from being eliminated but Ryback threw Barrett onto Kofi on the outside as well. When the replay was seen, it was ruled that Kofi’s feet landed on the floor before Barrett, thus retaining the title.

Tag Team Title Match
Team Hell No © vs. The Fortunate Sons (Joe Henning and Ted Dibiase)

On the first RAW of 2013, we saw a segment where Dibiase was talking with a bunch of divas making fun of Daniel Bryan and his goat face and his “No” chants. Bryan walked in on him the two had a match that night. Dibiase would lose via DQ when he wouldn’t let go of a Boston Crab submission even if Bryan grabbed the ropes. Dibiase then hollered, “I’ve got til 5!” Kane came down to help but as Kane was running, he too was laid out with a cane by Joe Henning! Over the course of the next few weeks, the Shield, Prime Time Players, Tensai, would work as hired guns for the Sons, using their money to their advantage. They had a title match at EC but was cancelled due to Bryan imploding in one episode of RAW when he couldn’t take the insults from the Sons, putting his hands on several crew members in the back to take out his frustrations even if Kane tried his best to calm him down. Wrestlemania came and Vickie claimed that if Bryan has another episode, they would be stripped of the titles. Team Hell No made their entrance with Bryan not looking happy to be there. Halfway through the match, the “Yes” and “No” and “Goat-face” chants were defeaning which caused Bryan to leave. But before he left, Kane was gonna tag him in but Bryan pulled back and instead delivered a stiff kick right on the mandible, leaving Kane to fall victim to the Sons who won the titles. Heel turn for Bryan!

Divas Title Match
Eve Torres © vs. Lita

Basically, Eve went through every diva already. But at EC, after Eve issued an open challenge, Lita made her return. Although she lost since Eve just left the match, she made her intentions known. The other divas however didn’t feel it was fair for Lita to just be handed the #1 contendership so Vickie put Lita on the gauntlet. If she could defeat the three hand-selected divas from Eve, then she would get a shot at Wrestlemania. Lita would go on to defeat Natalya, Tamina, and Kaitlyn in the gauntlet. At Wrestlemania, the divas were given a good amount of time. The end came when Lita hit her moonsault but only got a two count. She tried for the moonsault yet again but missed with Eve possibly playing possum. Eve hit her finisher to retain her title.

Undefeated Streak Match
Undertaker vs. Sheamus

After not winning the Rumble a second year in a row, Sheamus has his eyes set on something else. On the Smackdown after the Rumble, Sheamus cut a promo again saying how much he loved to fight. But later he got more serious and said that what better what to fight than to fight the best striker in the grandest stage of them all, The Undertaker. Sheamus would then ask for a sign from the Undertaker if he accepted his challenge or not. That sign was finally made known to Sheamus when he was given a note from a crew member in the back. It led him to a grassy area where he would see a tombstone which had words engraved in it, “Sheamus RIP”. The Irishman would laugh at this the next week and tell the Undertaker to tell it to his face that he accepts. It took the Undertaker until the SD after the Elimination Chamber PPV to respond. He arrived via his spooky entrance with Sheamus not looking phased at all. All Undertaker said was, “I accept.” And proceeded to chokeslam Sheamus! Sheamus would hit the Brogue Kick thrice on the Deadman at Wrestlemania but he wouldn’t stay down. After the third kickout, Sheamus was morbid. Fear seemed to be in his eyes when The Deadman sat up and made his comeback. The match ended with the Tombstone Piledriver on Sheamus.

Six-Man Tag Team Match
The Shield vs. JBL, Randy Orton, and Alberto Del Rio

This match came into fruition when Orton was again put out of action by The Shield, but he returned on the RAW after EC. Del Rio and JBL would be involved when The Shield would attack Ron Simmons and Ricardo Rodriguez. When Wrestlemania came around, all 6 men produced an all out war. With Del Rio and JBL fighting for the respective friends and Orton fighting for revenge, The Shield still found a way to victory. Orton was put through the Spanish announce table while JBL was rammed through the barricade by Roman Reigns. This left Del Rio as easy pickings for the Shield after they hit their three-man finisher from the turnbuckles.

No Holds Barred Match
CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar

With Punk losing his title to the Rock clean at RR, Punk was irate at Heyman. On the RAW after the RR PPV, in a backstage segment, Punk went on to belittle Heyman and blame him for the loss at RR. With that, Lesnar reappeared and told Heyman that he’ll never manage anyone as good as him. Punk then came eye-to-eye with Lesnar. Lesnar tried to make it seem like he was gonna throw a punch at Punk to make him flinch, but he didn’t. The Rock competed in an EC Match where Punk was a contestant. The final three were Punk, Cena, and The Rock. With Punk outside of the ring, Lesnar ordered for the door to open the chamber. He knocked down the referee and opened the chamber himself. He dragged Punk out of the ring and F-5’d him on top of the stage! Medical personnel would go on to check Punk while Heyman was left in shock. The next week, Punk was miraculously able to walk down to the ring on his own with Heyman nearby. He refused Heyman’s help which Heyman respected. Remember he took a beating from the Chamber and was F-5’d by Lesnar. Punk challenged Lesnar to a No Holds Barred Match at Wrestlemania and Heyman could not believe it. He tried talking Punk out of it but to no avail. Lesnar then came out and accepted. The next week, we saw Heyman try to convince Lesnar to call off the match but Lesnar said he can’t do that because he wants to HURT Punk. Wrestlemania 29 came. Blood sprawled throughout the faces of both men. Punk had Lesnar on his shoulders for the GTS, but Heyman delivered a low blow much to the chagrin of the fans in attendance in the Barclay Center. Brock then hit the F-5 and the match was over. Heyman held Lesnar’s hand high as they stood over Punk.

World Heavyweight Title Match
Big Show © vs. Ryback

Ryback was the winner of the Royal Rumble this year. He chose to go after Big Show’s title and announced it the day after the RR PPV. The two would go on to score unclean victories over each other over the next coming weeks. Show retained the title in a Chamber match which Ryback was not a part of due to an injury. Ryback got injured the second week after RR. But was scheduled to return two weeks after the Chamber match. Ryback returned in a poison match where his opponent was Mark Henry. He shellshocked the WSM for the win! Show defeated Orton with the KO Punch. At Wrestlemania, the two put on quite a show of strength. Ryback delivered the Shellshock to Show this didn’t put away Show. Show then scored with the KO Punch but Ryback kicked out. Show tried the KO Punch again but was Shellshocked! Ryback wasn’t taking any chances as he lifted Show up once again for the Shellshock! New World Heavyweight Champion! Ryback celebrated for a little bit before we hear the music of….AJ Lee? She skips down to the ring. Ryback is in the center of the ring and can’t figure out what’s going on. AJ jumps on Ryback and kisses him and hops off. With Ryback dazed, that’s when Dolph Ziggler comes through the crowd with a referee and hits him with the briefcase not once, but twice denting the briefcase so bad. He cashes in his briefcase and hits the Zig Zag! NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION.

WWE Championship Match – Title vs. Career
The Rock © vs. John Cena

The night after RR, The Rock opened the show to give his championship address. There, he revealed the old WWE Title, getting rid of the title that Cena brought in. The next week, Cena would respond saying he hasn’t given up yet and promises that he’ll be WWE Champion. The Rock had to retain the title in a Chamber match and did but knew he still had one thing to prove at the grandest stage of them all. So instead, the Rock laid out the challenge for Cena. Title vs. Career match. With that, Cena had no hesitation and accepted the match. We would then see this match advertised a whole lot, hyping up Wrestlemania. We saw another side of Cena we haven’t seen before. Jim Ross sat down with Cena in an interview where he said if Cena was serious about this. The next few weeks were an all-out promo war. Even The Rock and Cena’s Twitter were blowing up. On the go home show to Wrestlemania, both The Rock and Cena had a confrontation to end all promos, saying that this was it, Title vs. Career. Rock’s WWE Title vs. John Cena’s career. John Cena vs. The Rock II begins. The main event of Wrestlemania didn’t disappoint. We saw Cena more active than ever, we saw him pull out moves we’ve never seen before, and some counters to the Rock’s moves. The Rock had already hit two Rock Bottoms but it still didn’t put Cena away. Cena had already hit two AA’s but it didn’t put the Rock away either. Finally, the Rock hit the spinebuster and the People’s Elbow connected! 1! 2! 3! – NO! A KICKOUT! Cena then made his comeback and hit his 5 moves of doom. He had the Rock on his shoulders but he didn’t hit the AA, he just dropped The Rock. Instead, he looked at the Wrestlemania sign and took in all the reaction from the WWE universe whether it be boos or cheers. It looked like the Rock would take advantage of this, hit another Rock Bottom and win, ending Cena’s career, but no! Cena whipped The Rock to the turnbuckles and they both climb up. We now see The Rock on Cena’s shoulders on the top rope! SUPER-ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT! CENA WINS! After the match, both men are down for a good amount of time before it’s The Rock who is up first. He goes over to Cena and helps him up. Wrestlemania 29 ends with the Rock and Cena both with their arms raised and taking their respective turnbuckle and posing for the fans.

John Cena vs. The Rock (c) vs. CM Punk
WWE Championship
Triple Threat Match

In a colossal main event, three men who had everything prove took part in one of the biggest matches in Wrestlemania history. After he defeated CM Punk at the Royal Rumble in an epic encounter, The Rock had to then show the world on the grandest stage of them all that he deserved to carry the WWE Championship by defending it against two of the very best of this generation. After he refused to cash in his title rematch against the Great One, CM Punk also disappeared from the company for four weeks after he severed ties with Paul Heyman in an explosive confrontation on RAW. Then, at the Elimination Chamber, it would be John Cena who earned the number one contendership, even though many throughout the company earnestly believed that he had lost his touch. It would appear that a colossal rematch from last year’s Wrestlemania was set in stone. However, on the night following the Elimination Chamber, CM Punk interrupted a verbal duel between Cena and The Rock to announce that he would join them at Wrestlemania; virtue of the rematch clause in his contract.

In the weeks that followed each man tried to get into the head of their other two opponents during both physical and verbal confrontations on RAW. While Cena and The Rock talked up their claims of being the very best in the business, CM Punk mainly attempted to downplay his adversaries and successfully turned them upon each other on a pair of occasions. Several weeks passed in which the trio exploited their opponent’s weaknesses, spoke of their past history and traded blows before finally; Wrestlemania 29 had arrived. Following one of the greatest, most passionate triple threat encounters in history, it was John Cena who left with the WWE Championship back around his waist. After CM Punk crunched The Rock with a GTS, John Cena looked set to suffer the same fate but he countered the manoeuvre, caught his opponent’s leg and locked him in the STF. The Straight Edge Superstar held out for as long as he could but he eventually succumbed to the pain, which allowed Cena to once again rule over the WWE as champion.

Big Show (c) vs. Ryback
World Heavyweight Championship
Singles Match

Heading into 2013, Big Show looked almost unstoppable as the World Heavyweight Champion and this trend continued after he defeated Randy Orton and Sheamus at the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber events respectively. However, Show finally got the challenge he had been waiting for as 2013 Royal Rumble winner Ryback decimated him with a clothesline on the first Smackdown after Elimination Chamber; signalling his intent for a World Heavyweight Championship shot. In the lead up to Wrestlemania, Ryback barely talked and instead left the jeering and taunting to his adversary. The World Heavyweight Champion claimed that while Ryback had initially been impressive, he proved in recent months that he couldn’t hang with the big boys and that he had never faced a challenge the size, strength or skill of the giant.

In the weeks that followed tables were broken, chairs were snapped in half and bodies were bruised and bloodied. However, the true action didn’t start until Wrestlemania. In one of the most hard hitting contents of Wrestlemania history, Ryback and Big Show went toe to toe for just over ten minutes. However, with the contest nearing its conclusion, Ryback managed to gain control. After he emphatically tossed Big Show off of the second rope, Ryback crunched him with a Meat Hook clothesline, before he left the best for last. After he hoisted the giant up onto his shoulders, Ryback marched around the ring with more than four hundred pounds of weight on his back before he hauled him back down to earth with Shell Shocked. And just three seconds later, the WWE had a new World Heavyweight Champion and Ryback soaked in the adulation of tens of thousands with his newly won prize high above his head.

Randy Orton vs. Brock Lesnar
Grudge Match
No Holds Barred Match

Almost ten years since they last wrestled, Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton would meet once more on a much bigger stage than a 2002 episode of Smackdown. After CM Punk lost his WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, Paul Heyman wanted another chance for one of his clients to main event Wrestlemania. Cue Brock Lesnar, who returned to the company, entered the Rumble match and proceeded to eliminate every single superstar in his path. However, after Lesnar eliminated a noticeably fired up Randy Orton, the Viper jumped back up onto the apron and cracked the Beast’s neck off the top rope with an RKO. This distraction allowed Lesnar to be hurled from the ring by eventual winner Ryback and he immediately engaged in a brawl with Randy Orton on the outside, who gave everything he had to fight off the Freak. From that moment on Heyman and Lesnar turned their attention to taking out the Viper, with Lesnar dishing out the physical punishment and Heyman the mental.

While Brock attacked Orton at every turn and even cost him his World Heavyweight Championship match against Big Show at Elimination Chamber, Heyman used a more subtle way to put off the Viper. Heyman verbally attacked Orton’s family and called the Viper himself a hypocrite for putting up a facade for his wife and daughter to hide his usual violent, aggressive and psychotic persona that he displays in the ring. Each and every week Orton attempted to get his hands on Heyman but as soon as he got close to the greasy manager, Lesnar was there to protect him. Finally, at Wrestlemania the two met in the middle of the ring in a No Holds Barred contest. Orton looked set to emerge victorious after he planted Lesnar with an RKO but instead of going for the cover, The Viper attempted to get his hands on Heyman. This distraction allowed the Beast to recover and moments later he absolutely decimated Orton with an F5 onto the steel steps and scored the decisive pinfall soon after.

Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler
Grudge Match
Singles Match

While Dolph Ziggler shined in both the Royal Rumble match and the Elimination Chamber contest, the same could not be said for Sheamus who had a disappointing few first few months of 2013. Noticing this drop, a month before Wrestlemania the Show Off would challenge the Sheamus to a match in order to prove that 2013 was his year and that he was going to take the Irishman’s spot in the upper echelons of the WWE. While Sheamus continued to lose important matches, Dolph, with the assistance of AJ Lee and Big E Langston, would antagonise his adversary continuously.

Ziggler claimed that it was karma keeping Sheamus from further success, as due to his poor upbringing he was destined to remain miserable; even going so far as to travel to the Irishman’s home town to gather ‘evidence’. However, Ziggler’s taunting would prove to be his downfall as he met a very different Celtic Warrior to the one he challenged a month ago. As the two met in the centre of the ring at Wrestlemania, Sheamus allowed his aggression to drive him to victory and, following two decisive Brogue Kicks, he earned the pinfall.

Rey Mysterio vs. Antonio Cesaro (c)
United States Championship
Singles Match

Since winning the United States Championship at Summerslam last year, Antonio Cesaro had mowed through every single challenger in his path. After he disposed of Sin Cara at Elimination Chamber, the Swiss Superman proceeded to beat the holy hell out of the luchador until none other than Rey Mysterio made the save. The following night on RAW, the Master of the 619 would challenge the ever arrogant Cesaro to a match for the championship that he held so dearly. However, Cesaro would decline the offer on account of a new policy he had just introduced regarding the United States Championship; it could only be defended against citizens of America. RAW General Manager Vickie Guerrero would overturn this policy on one condition; if Mysterio beat Cesaro later in the night he could gain another match for the strap at Wrestlemania. Rey would do just that in a classic encounter and set the stage for a championship match on the grandest of stages.

Heading towards Wrestlemania Cesaro would bait the Mexican by saying that he was a disease on the people of America, having illegally entered the country and leeched off of the hard work of others. Mysterio quickly countered by saying that he entered America, worked hard, respected its people and earned his place – something Cesaro had not. Mysterio loved America as much as his native Mexico and he would show it by capturing the United States Championship for the very first time in his career. However, come Wrestlemania Cesaro would have the last laugh as he countered a high flying Mysterio with a vicious uppercut and finished him off with an emphatic Neutralizer.

Hell No (c) vs. The Shield
WWE Tag Team Championships
Tag Team Match

After they failed to dispose of Ryback in the Royal Rumble and an attack on The Rock at Elimination Chamber went astray, The Shield needed to get back on track. They would do so after they battered Team Hell No and stole their tag team belts to send a very simple message; they wanted a shot. Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose explained soon after that they needed a better platform to teach the WWE Universe about supposed injustices throughout the company and as WWE Tag Team Champions, they would have just that. Amidst constant bickering between Daniel Bryan and Kane during both the build up and the actual match itself, Ambrose and Rollins would steal the match and capture the tag team belts at Wrestlemania; much to the crowd’s dismay.

Wade Barrett (c) vs. The Miz
Intercontinental Championship
Singles Match

Two large egos would clash in the build up to Wrestlemania and it quickly led to a match up being made between Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett and The Miz. After they clashed in the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber matches, Barrett and Miz were determined to work out just who was the better man and decided to settle their differences at Wrestlemania in the centre of the ring. Most of all Barrett wished to establish his reign as champion by beating a former world champion while The Miz wished more than anything to hold gold once again and move on up to the spot he once held two years prior. While The Miz also did his fair share of talking, Barrett would steal the spotlight as he argued that The Miz was a sham; he had only won the WWE Championship in the first place because of the Nexus. In a gritty, violent contest, Barrett would still the victory after he rolled up his rival with a handful of tights.

Prime Time Players vs. The Usos vs. International Air Striker vs. The Rhode Scholars
Number One Contender's Match
Four Corners Tag Team Match

In order to both show off the resurgent tag team division and find a new number one contender, a simple four corners tag team match was set for Wrestlemania. On the night it would be the Prime Time Players, who had slowly morphed into crowd favourites in the previous couple of months that emerged victorious after a thrilling, fast paced contest.

Match #1:
3MB (Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre) vs International Airstrike vs Prime Time Players vs Team Hell No (c)
Ladder Match For The WWE Tag Team Championships

The Buildup: Team Hell No had been completely dominating the tag division in WWE for months come Royal Rumble when they faced the Prime Time Players. Team Hell No successfully retained when post match they were jumped by 3MB who clearly set their sights on winning the tag team belts. Later in the night during the Royal Rumble Match all 3 members of 3MB were tossed over the top rope by Kane. Come Elimination Chamber 3MB and PTP had been arguing over who should face Team Hell No but the team of Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd shockingly won a triple threat #1 Contenders match after pinning Jinder Mahal leading to them facing off against Team Hell No at Elimination Chamber, Which ended in a no contest after PTP and 3MB attacked both teams. In the weeks before Wrestlemania all four teams had a couple brawls so Vickie Guerrero set up a 4 way title match for Wrestlemania, But the stakes were upped when Team Hell No attacked the other three teams with ladders.

The Match: After some great action from all four teams and some brutal shots with the ladders, 3MB took it upon themselves to better their odds of winning after they used their combined force to drive Kane through the guard rail and trap him under a ton of ladders. With Kane out of commision, Daniel Bryan was left alone trying to fight off all 3 teams of challengers. International Airstrike however stole the show with some great high flying action including dual 450 Splashes on the Prime Time Players off 20 foot ladders. The end of the match came when Daniel Bryan was going for the belts while everybody else was laid out, But Jinder Mahal came into the ring and shoved Bryan off the ladder causing Bryan to fall through a ladder that was set up between the guard rail and the ring. With the champs taken out Jinder helped up his partners and set up the ladder for them then stood guard, Fighting off Gabriel and Kidd once last time while Slater & McIntyre pulled down the tag belts and won the match.

Match #2:
Jack Swagger vs Antonio Cesaro (c)
United States Championship Match

The Build Up: Antonio Cesaro had been on an incredible run since Summerslam when he defeated Santino Maralla to win the belt. From then on he said no american could beat him for the title and come Royal Rumble that was put to the test when he faced off against The Miz in a great match but in the end Cesaro was able to add him to the list of people he defeated with the gold on the line. Come Elimination Chamber, Antonio Cesaro had issued an open challenge to any american and out came the returning All American American Jack Swagger. Swagger took Cesaro to the limit and even trapped him in the Ankle Lock, But Cesaro escaped it and then got himself DQ'ed to retain. This had Swagger on the warpath wanting a rematch and he was granted one for Wrestlemania when he was given a rematch against Antonio Cesaro, But a stipulation was added saying if Cesaro was DQ'ed or counted out, Swagger would win the belt.

The Match: About 10 minutes into the match Swagger was in firm control and even dropped Cesaro with the Gutwrench Powerbomb, But Cesaro was able to kick out. Swagger seemed to be closing in on the victory but Cesaro raked the eyes to put an end to that then hit his usual moves to set up for the victory, But when Cesaro went for the kill Swagger shockingly blocked it and took Cesaro down into the Ankle Lock and 2 minutes later scored the victory and his second US Title when Cesaro tapped out.

Match #3:
Damien Sandow vs Kofi Kingston vs Cody Rhodes vs Wade Barrett (c)
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match

The Build Up: As 2012 came to an end, Wade Barrett defeated Kofi Kingston to win the IC Title, Barrett then granted Kofi a rematch for the Royal Rumble but the match ended in a no contest when Team Rhodes Scholars attacked both men. The next night on RAW it was revealed that Rhodes & Sandow both had set their sights on becoming the IC Champ. Barrett, Being the fighter he is gave both men a title shot at Elimination Chamber where Barrett retained after Rhodes and Sandow argued over who would get the pin and Barrett was able to knock Sandow out of the ring and roll up Rhodes. This set off Sandow who violently attacked his partner post match with a steel chair and made it clear Team Rhodes Scholars was done. In the weeks leading up to Wrestlemania Sandow earned himself another shot at the IC Title, Only to be jumped by Rhodes who hadn't been seen since Elimination Chamber. With only one week to go until Wrestlemania it was looking like we would see a rematch from Elimination Chamber when Kofi Kingston beat both Sandow & Rhodes in a triple threat match on RAW then knocked off Barrett on Smackdown, Which caused Booker to add Kofi into the mix for Wrestlemania.

The Match: Most of the match saw Sandow and Rhodes brawling all over MetLife Stadium, While Barrett and Kofi had some great back and forth action in the ring. Rhodes had seemingly taken out Sandow after throwing him off the ramp to the floor but when Rhodes was about to score the winning pinfall in the ring, Sandow came out of nowhere to break it up. Sandow then hit his neckbreaker, Putting Rhodes through the Spanish announce table to take him out but while he did that Barrett was able to finish off Kofi and score the winning fall before Sandow could break it up. Once again Wade Barrett had outsmarted Damien Sandow, Who thought for sure two PPV's in a row he would be walking out with the IC Title around his waist.

Match #4
Natayla vs Eve (c)
Divas Championship Match

The Build Up: Eve was taking every shortcut in the book in 2012 to keep the Divas Championship around her waist, So when she faced Kaitlyn at Royal Rumble in a no DQ match it seemed likely that Eve's run was over, That was until Natayla shockingly came out and hit Kaitlyn with a chair, Allowing Eve to get the victory. The next night on RAW we found out Natayla turned on Kaitlyn and the fans because she was sick of sitting on the sidelines, Watching everybody else get their chance at the top and now it was her turn. Kaitlyn then came out and brawled with her, Until Eve came from behind and knocked out Kaitlyn by hitting her in the back of the head with the Divas Title. At Elimination Chamber Kaitlyn got a rematch against Eve, But again Natayla cost Kaitlyn the belt. Eve claimed Kaitlyn had enough chances and she needed a new challenge so a tournament was held to decide who would face Eve at Wrestlemania, The finals came down to Kaitlyn vs Natayla and Natayla was able to win after Kaitlyn injured her leg in the match. Eve thought she would have an easy win at Wrestlemania, That was until Natayla attacked Eve backstage during an interview to prove she wasn't just gonna lay down for Eve.

The Match: At first Eve tried to make Natayla lay down but of course Nattie refused and attacked Eve to begin the action in the match. Natayla dominated Eve with her power moves, Which lead to a few near falls. Eve however did make a comeback, Even hitting her finisher but Natayla kicked out at the 2 count. Eve was in shock after this and while she argued with the ref, Natayla got up to her feet and decked Eve with a clothesline then trapped in the Sharpshooter and after a long struggle to escape, Eve was forced to tap out giving Natayla her 2nd Divas Championship.

Match #5
Big Show vs Ryback w/ William Regal

The Build Up: Before TLC of 2012 we saw Big Show assault William Regal multiple times to get to Sheamus and in the end that may have helped him win the World Heavyweight Championship. At Royal Rumble Show put the gold on the line against Sheamus & Alberto Del Rio in a triple threat match, Early on in the match Show tossed Del Rio out of the ring but he landed wrong on his leg and thus had to be stretched away. It was later revealed Del Rio severely sprained his knee and sprained his ankle. With Show and Sheamus left alone to do battle it was looking like Show would again win, That was until the ref was knocked out and William Regal shocked the world by coming out and nailing Show with brass knuckles in the jaw and Sheamus winning back the belt, Only for Ziggler to cash in after the match. At Elimination Chamber Show faced off against Regal in a brutal fight that saw Show pick up the victory. Regal, Who now realized he could not match the pure power of Big Show said he would go find himself someone to represent him at Wrestlemania in a match against Show, That man being Ryback.

The Match: The World's Largest Athlete had finally found someone who could go blow for blow with him and could match his power in Ryback. These two beasts of men slugged it out for most of the match with neither one really getting too much of an advantage. Ryback tried to lift up Show for Shell Shocked once but alas, Show was just too big and was able to block it. Regal began to get worried that his representive would not be able to avenge him by putting away the Big Show who was now wearing out Ryback with sucker punches into the gut. In the end Show brought Regal into the ring and knocked him out then turned around into a massive Spear from Ryback. Ryback then did the unthinkable and lifted Show up onto his shoulders, Marched around the ring and dropped him with Shellshocked and scored the pin and thus avenging his friend William Regal.

Match #6
The Shield & Christian vs Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, The Miz & Sheamus
Elimination Tag Team Match

The Build Up: Going into Royal Rumble, The Shield was attacking people left and right, Even taking out Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton in late December. The Shield were given spots in the Rumble Match and after all three got in they took control, Eliminating anybody who came out right away, That was until Randy Orton's music hit and he ran down to the ring and took the fight to them. Just as they went to eliminate Orton, The music of Rey Mysterio hit and he saved Orton leaded to The Shield being in a good fight but alas they were done in after Sheamus came out and helped Rey & Orton clear the ring. Come Elimination Chamber, The Shield had been teasing that someone who had been wronged by the sword of injustice multiple times would be joining them soon. This man was revealed to be the returning Christian who turned on Orton & Sheamus in a 6 man tag match and joined The Shield. In the weeks leading up to Wrestlemania The Shield, Now with their "leader" Christian with them challenged Mysterio, Orton, And Sheamus to find a partner and face them at Wrestlemania, They picked the former WWE Champion The Miz.

The Match: The first elimination came quickly as within minutes of the match beginning, Miz got counted out after The Shield beat him down on the floor giving themselves a quick advantage. With the numbers against them Orton, Sheamus and Rey had to do whatever they could to get an elimination but things would go from bad to worse after Rey missed a Frog Splash on Ambrose and was rolled up, Giving The Shield a 4 on 2 advantage. That didn't last more than 10 seconds though as Orton spun Ambrose around and dropped him with the RKO to narrow down the numbers game. Rollins quickly followed his partner out of the match as he entered only to get nailed with a Brouge Kick and a RKO, With the sides even again we saw some good back and forth action, That was until Reigns powerbombed Orton onto the steel steps while Sheamus was legal which distracted him enough for Christian to eliminate him. Orton was left alone and looked to be down and out as Reigns and Christian set him up for a double powerbomb but Orton came back, Hit his usual moves but the numbers game was too much and he was hit with a spear from Reigns and a Frog Splash from Christian, Giving The Shield a huge victory on the grandest stage of them all.

Match #7
John Cena vs Dolph Ziggler (c) w/ Big E. Langston & AJ Lee
World Heavyweight Championship Match

The Build Up: Cena, Who after TLC realized he not only had to deal with Dolph Ziggler & AJ Lee but Big E Langston as well was on the war path, Hell bent on destroying Dolph Ziggler. It was set up for Royal Rumble that Cena would face Ziggler again, This time inside a Steel Cage. But prior to the match, Big E Langston attacked Cena backstage and knocked him out per Ziggler's orders. Ziggler of course came out for the match, Thinking Cena would not make it but he shocked the world by making his way to the ring and he beat the hell out of Ziggler, That was until AJ Lee snuck into the cage and cracked Cena over the back with a steel chair. Ziggler took this chance to escape the cage and again avoid being beat by Cena. Later in the night however, John Cena won the Royal Rumble. At Elimination Chamber Cena battled Big E. Langston in a Street Fight and even with AJ getting involved multiple times, Cena was able to pull out the victory and now he set his sights on one final match with Dolph Ziggler at Wrestlemania, This time with the Heavyweight Title on the line.

The Match: Going into the match, Cena said he wanted no dq's and no countouts to make sure Ziggler couldn't take the easy way out. He was of course granted that stipulation but early in the match it was looking like that was a mistake as Ziggler was in control after Langston and Lee both took every chance they got to get involved, Langston even got in the ring at one point but Cena quickly disposed of him. Cena then laid out Ziggler with the AA then left the ring, Grabbed a chair and went to town with it on Langston, Until AJ Lee low blowed Cena. At the end of the match Langston & Lee were ejected from ringside leaving Ziggler alone with Cena. Cena was rolling after his typical shoulder blocks and five knuckle shuffle, But Ziggler had one last trick up his sleeve as AJ skipped down to the ring and jumped on the ring apron. Cena turned his attention to AJ, Leading to Ziggler going for the Zig Zag but Cena used his amazing strength to not only catch him, But lift him onto his shoulders and knock AJ off the ring apron in the process, Then drop Ziggler with the AA and get the victory.

Match #8
Brock Lesnar vs The Rock
Grudge Match

The Build Up: At Royal Rumble, The Rock was the favorite to win the title from CM Punk in the main event and it sure looked like Punk's amazing run was coming to an end, That was until Paul Heyman knocked out the ref from behind. Rock then took it upon himself to take out Heyman but then before he could do anything else, The man beast himself Brock Lesnar made his first appearance since quitting WWE way back in the Summer of 2012. Lesnar made his way to the ring, Then blocked a punch from Rock and dropped him with an F-5 and dragged Punk over him for the pin. In the weeks afterwards Rock called out Lesnar multiple times but got no response. Come Elimination Chamber Rock came out and challenged Lesnar to a match, This time for Wrestlemania and got his answer when he was jumped from behind by Lesnar.

The Match: As the match started, Things got brutal right away as Lesnar bloodied Rock right away. Lesnar used this chance to beat down Rock and focus most of the attack on his arm but Rock was able to make a comeback. Things took a quicker pace from here as Rock was controlling the offense, But Lesnar used his power and grappling skills to take down Rock and focus the attack again onto the arm. In the end Lesnar looked like he was closing in on the victory after a nasty F-5 off the top turnbuckle and locking in the Kimura Lock but Rock brought the crowd to their feet when he escaped the hold, Something nobody else has been able to do. Rock hit his signature moves from there to set up the victory, Finishing with a spinebuster then a Peoples Elbow and Rock Bottom later and it's over. The Rock gets his revenge on Brock Lesnar after costing him the title at Royal Rumble and attacking him again at Elimination Chamber.

Match #9
Undertaker vs CM Punk (c) w/ Paul Heyman
WWE Championship Match

The Build Up: After a full year of being the WWE Champion, CM Punk ran into his biggest challenge yet when he went up against The Rock at Royal Rumble. Punk did however escape as champ after Brock Lesnar returned to take out Rock and it looked like nobody would be able to end the title run of Punk, That was until #30 in the Royal Rumble Match, The Undertaker won the match. The fans were now buzzing about a possible Undertaker vs Punk match at Wrestlemania but first came Elimination Chamber where CM Punk successfully retained again after winning the RAW Elimination Chamber Match, But before he could celebrate the lights went out and when they came back on Undertaker Chokeslammed Punk in the middle of the ring, Thus choosing to take on Punk at Wrestlemania. In the weeks leading up to Wrestlemania CM Punk said he was going to do the thing nobody else could do and end the streak, Just because it's the only thing keeping Undertaker from laying at home and never coming back.

The Match: The main event had come, It was Title vs Streak and Undertaker's Streak looked to be in more danger than ever before. The match began with the shocking ejection from ringside of Paul Heyman, This pissed off Punk and Heyman but the ref was taking no chances of the main event of Wrestlemania not having a clean finish. The match was a great 20 minute back and forth battle, With Punk having a few near falls leaving the crowd breathing a sigh of relief after Undertaker kicked out of not 1, But two GTS's. Punk, Who looked in desperation left the ring and grabbed a steel chair but as soon as he got in the ring with it, Undertaker kicked it back into his face. From there Taker got rolling again with his classic offense but Punk shocked the crowd by kicking out of the Tombstone. Both men were wondering what they'd have to do to put the other away. The end came when Punk tried to knock out Taker with a kick to the head but Taker caught his foot and hit a Chokeslam. Taker then trapped Punk right in the middle of the ring in Hell's Gates and after a long struggle and multiple attempts to counter out, Punk passed out from the pain which marked the end of his historic championship run.

WWE champion The Rock vs John Cena

Rock beats Punk for the WWE title at the Rumble. On the same night, Cena wins the Rumble match. Heyman then admits that it is he and not Punk who is involved with Shield. Rock is forced to put his title on the line inside Elimination Chamber against Ryback, Punk and Shield, who get into the match forcefully. They beat down on Rock and Ryback allowing Punk to do nothing but Ryback eliminates them all. He also eliminates Punk. Rock puts up a good fight but Ryback is too strong to defeat for even Rock. Just when Ryback is about to finish Rock, Lesnar comes out of nowhere, gets into the Chamber and lays Ryback out with F5 leaving Rock to pin Ryback. Cena on the next night challenges Rock to a match at Mania. This results in an epic build-up bigger than last year and this time too, both men get the better of each other on multiple occasions. However, this year’s build-up has more physicality to it. The CeNation as always is behind Cena but Rocky for the second year in a row beats Cena on the popularity meter getting cheers wherever he goes and whatever he does and says.

Come Mania, the two are involved in a grueling battle bettering their 2012 performance. Cena does everything in his bag to beat Rock but Rock doesn’t seem to give up. Finally, when Rock is about to lay Cena out with Rock Bottom, Cena slips out and locks Rock in the STF. With minutes of tense struggle, Rock has no option but to tap out and hand over the title to Cena who gets the perfect rematch.

Winner: John Cena

Undertaker vs CM Punk

After losing the WWE title to Rock and failing again at Chamber, Punk has fallen down the ladder of respect, at least that is what he feels so. With Heyman “betraying” him by siding with Shield, Punk let’s go of Heyman’s services too. Now Punk needs to do something to get back the lost respect and there’s only one way to do it – kill the streak! Punk challenges Taker to a duel at Mania and Taker, without hesitating, accepts! Taker has to prove that he can beat a young guy at Mania and keep his streak alive after twenty years of doing the same thing. Punk is able to get the better of Taker on the RTWM surprising him and the fans with pipe bombs. He uses small details like calling Taker “Mark” and bringing out his human qualities like marrying thrice to keep his heelish side alive and pushing Taker down. The die-hand Punk fans cheer him but arenas are filled with “UNDER-TAKER” chants.

Finally, at Mania, when Punk is just about to do the impossible, finish off Taker, Taker gets back up and knocks Punk down with three back-to-back Tombstones to go 21 and 0 but Punk finally earns respect as the fans give him a standing ovation after Taker salutes him for a grueling match.

Winner: Undertaker

No Holds Barred, Falls Count Anywhere
Brock Lesnar and The Shield w/Paul Heyman vs Triple H, Ryback and Team Hell No w/ Ric Flair

As mentioned before, Lesnar takes out Ryback inside the Chamber to cost him the WWE championship. Also, Shield takes out Hell No at the same PPV and cost them the Tag titles. Next night on RAW, Heyman asks for the unison of Lesnar and Shield when Ryback and Hell No attack them. The heels gain advantage over faces and beat them down until Triple H walks out with a sledgehammer. A brawl ensues which is stopped by VKM who makes this match. The superstars continue to one-up each other every time they step into the ring but the faces start losing touch because of Heyman. To even things up, HHH asks for the services of Flair. Brawls are a regular with these guys. The build-up is epic with Heyman and Flair leaving no stone unturned for the benefit of their teams. Lesnar looks the strongest man going into the match with his superior strength but Ryback isn’t too far behind. The fans are clearly anti-heels and pro-faces and go traditional for the first time in a long time.

Heyman’s team dominates the entire match using their collective dog mentality and under-handed tactics until the sledgehammer comes out. HHH takes out his nemesis Lesnar and Hell No oust Rollins and Ambrose. With Heyman and Flair getting a piece of each other, Ryback prevails in the confusion hitting Reigns with Shell Shocked and picks up the win for his team.

Winners: Triple H, Ryback and Team Hell No w/ Ric Flair

World Heavyweight champion Dolph Ziggler vs Sheamus vs Big Show

Sheamus beats Show at Rumble for the title. However Show knocks him out after the match which allows Ziggler to successfully cash-in his briefcase to become the new champ. Vickie, envied by this, puts Ziggler in an Elimination Chamber that also features Sheamus and Show with four others. Ziggler manages to keep his reign intact with help from AJ and Langston. Vickie, further irritated, makes Sheamus vs Show as a no.1 contender’s match. Due to interference from AJ and Langston, the match results in a double count-out leaving no opponent for Ziggler for Mania. Vickie then uses her intelligence and names both Sheamus and Show as contenders for a triple threat match. With AJ and Langston busy focusing on their match (comes later), Ziggler is left alone to match the power of his opponents. They make full use of their opportunity and build steam heading into Mania while Ziggler gets suppressed and becomes the weak link.

At Mania, in a high-impact triple threat, Ziggler is able to out-do his opponents and pins Sheamus after Zig-Zag-ing Show who K.Os Sheamus and retains his title much to the dismay of the entire WWE Universe.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Brad Maddox w/Vickie Guerrero vs Big E Langston w/AJ Lee

Vickie is continuously harassed by AJ and Langston as they continue to help Ziggler win cheaply and cause Mr. McMahon to believe that Vickie is not doing a good job of keeping a check on things. This frustrates Vickie to the point where she starts getting physical with AJ, however Langston’s presence doesn’t allow her to do much. On the other hand, Maddox is been given chance after chance by both Booker and Vickie but he fails in every attempt. Vickie decides to give him one final chance at Mania, against Langston. McMahon adds another stipulation to the match --- if Maddox loses he’ll never be offered a WWE contract and Vickie has to resign as Supervisor of RAW and if Langston loses both he and AJ will be fired.

Langston uses his superior strength to control most of the match with Maddox hitting a few right notes but in the end, Langston proves to be too strong and picks up his first Mania victory, resulting in Vickie resigning at the very event.

Winner: Big E Langston w/AJ Lee

Randy Orton vs Alberto Del Rio

Both Orton and Alberto are involved in the World championship Chamber. Orton eliminates Alberto with an RKO. However, Alberto chooses to stay inside the Chamber and takes Orton out with the cross arm-breaker allowing Ziggler to eliminate Orton. Orton eyes payback and challenges Alberto to a match at Mania. After a few clearing a few obstacles like beating Alberto’s choice of opponent, beating down on Alberto and giving him pep talks, Orton finally manages to convince Alberto to accept. The following weeks were strong physical build-up with Orton getting the upper hand most of the times.

Alberto, however, dominates the match at Mania before Orton comes back with his signature moves and finishes off Alberto with the RKO and gets back to winning ways at Mania.

Winner: Randy Orton

U.S champion Antonio Cesaro vs Jack Swagger

Cesaro keeps claiming that no American can ever beat him for the U.S title. Enter Swagger. He returns on the RAW after Chamber and attacks Cesaro making a direct challenge for the U.S title. Booker makes the match official and the two go back and forth until Mania on who should be champion and why.

The two are involved in a match pleasant on the eyes with a few “ooh” spots. Swagger locks in the Ankle Lock on Cesaro and rubbishes his claims by making him tap out and becoming the first American to hold the title in one year after himself.

Winner: Jack Swagger

Intercontinental champion Wade Barrett vs Kofi Kingston vs The Miz

A basic formula for this one: 1) Two men wanting one champion. 2) G.M. wanting to get rid of the champion. 3) G.M. putting both the men in a match against the champion. 4) Champion protests. 5) Challengers celebrate. 6) Bickering in the build-up.

This one’s a fast-paced one with Kofi making most of the good moves. Barrett, however, manages to steal one by rolling up Miz. He moves back to only Kofi in his sights.

Winner: Wade Barrett

WWE Tag Team Championship Six-Team Turmoil

The management finally makes good use of the tag teams available viz. champions Rhodes Scholars, Usos, Primo and Epico, International Airstrike, Mysterio and Cara and PTP and puts them all in one big, profitable, exciting turmoil where two teams start, one gets eliminated, another comes in and this continues until there is only team left standing which is then declared as tag champions. Matches involving any and all of the team players are a norm in this one’s build-up and the fans are truly into this match.

The champs and Puerto Ricans start off the match with the latter eliminated followed by Airstrike. The Mexicans eliminate the champs who are eliminated by Usos. PTP uses their last entry advantage to down Usos and become champions in an exciting fast-paced match.

Winners: Prime Time Playas

Divas champion Eve Torres vs Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn gets her official final chance to overthrow Eve and become Divas champion at Mania when she wins a Battle Royal on RAW. The build-up is not typically Diva-esque as there is more physicality and mic time awarded to both the divas. They notch up high voltage, important victories over other divas and each other in tag team matches. Most of the divas are behind Kaitlyn and everyone wants to see her as the new champion.

Come Mania, in a more-than-five-minute match, Kaitlyn manages to overpower Eve and finally dethrone her and become champion herself and all the face divas come out to the ring to congratulate her and hit Eve with all their finishers.

Winner: Kaitlyn

Six Man Tag Match
The Miz, Alberto Del Rio, and Randy Orton w/Ricardo Rodriguez vs. The Shield
-The Shield antics continued into 2013. The three men never seemed to slow down on their path to stop the injustice in WWE. After focusing their attention on The Miz during an episode of MizTV, The Shield would torment him for weeks. Miz look for help from anyone on the roster to finish of The Shield. Alberto Del Rio, who at the time was also having troubles with the NWO-like group, offered to team with Miz to take on The Shield. That match was short lived when the three men attacked Del Rio pre-match. Miz was alone, once again, and lost the bout. But, the war was just beginning. The group was still attacking Miz weekend and week out. Finally, at the Elimination Chamber, Del Rio returned to attain some revenge. The men battled for quite a while, before being separated by security. The next night, on Raw, Miz and Del Rio called out The Shield. They wanted a match at WrestleMania, and they weren’t alone. The Viper made his way to the ring and offered his support. It was on, Miz, Del Rio, and Randy Orton vs. Rollins, Reigns, and Ambrose. Fast-forward to the match, and the 6 men were battling it out in full on war. 16 minutes in, Randy Orton hits and RKO on Rollins for the one… the two… and the three. The match was over, but the war was not.

US Title
Antonio Cesaro(c) vs. Kofi Kingston
- After displaying many feats of strength in the past weeks, Kofi Kingston challenged the United States Champion to a match at WrestleMania. Could Cesaro handle the speed of Kingston? It was bound to be a good one. The two men stole the show at ‘Mania. Kingston showed amazing athleticism and speed, and Cesaro displayed astonishing strength and abilities. If was a clash of the best in the mid-card, and the match certainly didn’t disappoint. The end came when Kingston missed a Trouble in Paradise kick, and landed straight on his head. Cesaro capitalized, and lifted Kofi up for The Neutralizer. It hits and the match is over.

Big Show vs. Ryback
-The unstoppable force meets the immovable object. Ryback and Big Show would face off one on one at Raw post Elimination Chamber. Show was angry when Ryback cost him his World Heavyweight Championship in the huge infrastructure. Ryback knocked off Big Show, but only did so using the meat hook clothesline. Then, Big Show wasn’t able to win his rematch against Ziggler on Smackdown due to Big E Langston’s involvement. Show was fuming, and challenged Ryback to a second match on Raw. The match took place, and the giant took out all his frustrations. In a grueling battle between two big men, Big Show hit two knockout punches to win the match. A rematch was soon set up for ‘Mania. When the bell sounded, Ryback and Show went at it once against. At the 8-minute mark, Ryback hit the meat hook once again. He went for the cover, but Big Show unexpectedly powered out. Ryback stood up and yelled “FINISH HIM!” Once Show got to his feet, another huge meat hook connected- One… Two… Thr… NO! Show kicked out once again! “DONE!” Yelled Ryback. He lifted the gigantic man off his feet and held him in the air! 450 pounds of dead weight sat on the shoulder of Ryback! He began to march around the ring! Boom! Shell Shocked- One… Two… Three!!! It was all over!

Divas Tag Match
Kaitlyn and Layla vs. Eve and AJ Lee
- Kaitlyn and Layla’s friendship sparked when Eve’s shenanigans continued. The two were frustrated with the current Divas Champion. The three fought many times leading up to the big PPV, and Eve had to seek a new partner. When the rivalry of Kaitlyn and AJ picked back up around the Elimination Chamber, Eve immediately turned to AJ for help. AJ agreed and the Managing Supervisor, Vickie G, booked a tag match. The four girls squared of in a fairly good match on a Diva’s scale. The end came when Layla hit the Layout on Eve, but Big E Langston was distracting Kaitlyn. AJ snuck in the ring and hit a devastating set of moves on Layla. She dragged Eve over her downed opponent, and dived out onto Kaitlyn. The ref count- 1… 2… 3… The match was over.

Tag Titles
Team Hell No (c) vs. The Rhodes Scholars
-A new tag team tournament was set up post-chamber. The Rhodes Scholars would dominate once again, and this lead them straight to the tag title opportunity. The differences between Team Hell No began to show leading up to ‘Mania. The two couldn’t seem to get along. The match was a great one. The two teams fought off in a battle of minds and power. Rhodes and Bryan shined throughout the bout, but the end was near. Bryan tagged himself in near the end of the match, frustrating Kane. The Big Red Monster was tired of it. He entered the ring and laid out his long time tag partner. After hitting the choke slam on the “goat face,” Kane step outside the ring. He watched as Rhodes covered Bryan. New champions were crowned, as Kane laughed in the face of Daniel Bryan.

World Title
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Sheamus
- Sheamus displayed a great showing in the 2012 Royal Rumble, but got eliminated by Dolph Ziggler near the end. Ryback soon eliminated Ziggler, but that wouldn’t stop “The Show Off” from reaching his goal of the World Heavyweight Championship. At the Elimination Chamber then champion Ryback eliminated The Big Show early on. The match that consisted of Show, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Ryback, and both members of the Rhodes Scholars. It came down to Orton and Sheamus in the end, after Big Show was stretchered out. Sheamus got the upper hand and won the match, as well as the World Title. His reign wouldn’t last long due to Mr. Money In The Bank, Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler cashed in on the weakened new champion, and won the title in a matter of seconds. Thus leading to a rematch at WrestleMania 29. The two squared off in what could have been the match of the night. In the end, Ziggler was able to use the help of Big E Langston and girlfriend AJ Lee to retain his title. This was a sign of things to come.

CM Punk w/ Paul Heyman vs. Triple H w/ Vince McMahon
-With tempers steaming from the loss at the Royal Rumble, CM Punk and Paul Heyman were demanding a rematch for the WWE Championship. The longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era wanted to regain his championship. He would get his rematch on Raw, later that night. Rock vs. Punk was set again. The night ended with Rocky still holding the WWE Title, and Heyman nearly left in tears. The next week, the broadcast opened with Punk sitting in the middle of the ring. He ordered another match, but to no avail. He was interrupted by the returning COO of the WWE, Triple H. Hunter announced the Raw Elimination Chamber would be a number one contender match for the WWE Title at ‘Mania. Punk and Heyman were infuriated. After a failed attempt to win the match, Punk realized he wouldn’t be getting another title match until post ‘Mania. He quickly decided to turn his attention to the man who he believed conspired against him. Punk attacked Triple H. Triple H, like always, fought back. As the weeks progressed, Vince would accompany HHH to the ring. They booked the match that CM Punk and Paul Heyman were now demanding- Triple H w/Vince vs. Punk w/Paul. At the big event, Paul and Vince would become physical. The match ended with Triple H hitting the Pedigree on the former WWE Champion, ending the match, and the fierce rivalry.

The Streak
The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
-Brock Lesnar returned in the 2012 Royal Rumble at entrance number 30. He went on to win the match, eliminating John Cena in the end. It was looking as if Cena’s rematch with The Rock would have to wait. At least, that’s what everyone thought. On Raw, the night after the Rumble, Brock Lesnar marched to the ring and made it clear that he was going to choose his opponent for ‘Mania. After proclaiming that he has broken the path many times before, he says he wants to do it again. He goes on to say he has been winning championships his whole life, and could easily do it again. He wants to do something no one has ever done before. He wants to break the streak of “The Deadman.” Over the weeks to come, Lesnar was beginning to be messed with by “The Phenom.” Lights would flicker, darkness would shadow over Lesnar, and many other events would put fear in Lesnar. Finally, the night after the Elimination Chamber, ‘Taker would appear and accept Lesnar’s challenge. But, now Brock wasn’t acting so sure. All of the mind games were getting to him, but the match was set. At WrestleMania, The Undertaker would go on to defeat the seemingly unstoppable force that was Lesnar by hitting the Tombstone Piledriver. ‘Taker was now 21-0.

WWE Title
The Rock (c) vs. John Cena II
-After The Rock won the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble from CM Punk, Cena began an adventure to regain his championship. With a failed attempt to win the Royal Rumble match, Cena looked for any other way to go one on one with the great one. When Triple H returned to announce the Number One Contender Elimination Chamber match at the EC PPV, Cena earned his spop. He was bound and determined to win. Weeks later, when his chamber pod opened, he rushed in and began destroying anyone in his path. It was down to Punk and Cena, with Cena managing to come out on top. He would FINNALY get his chance at The Rock, and this time the stakes were all the more high, with the WWE Championship on the line. The two would stand face to face in the few weeks leading up to their match. The intensity, the passion, the aggression; it all raised. When the bell sounded in the main event of ‘Mania, the two went at it. A full year after Rocky defeated Cena; Cena was conquering revenge. The match lasted over 25 minutes, with John Cena defeating The Rock, and not only getting revenge, but the WWE Championship as well.

Match 1#-CM Punk VS Triple H (Stone Cold guest referee)

The match is made after Punk doesn't get a title shot at Mania nor a match against the Undertaker. He pouts about until Triple H challenges him to a match. Triple H even adds Stone Cold to madden Punk. Punk loses the match after arguing with Austin and getting a Stunner and then a Pedigree.

(The two share a couple of beers as Punk slinks to the back, complaining to Heyman about what happened.)

Match 2#-Ryback VS Big Show

This match is made after Ryback eliminates Big Show in the E.C. and Big Show came back and cost Ryback the title. The crowd goes wild as Ryback is able to give Big Show the Shellshock and pick up the win.

(The crowd cheers later when Ryback bumps into Lesnar backstage but nothing happens as they just stare each other down.)

Match 3#-Money in the Bank-Damian Sandow VS Cody Rhodes VS Antonio Cesaro VS Christian VS Randy Orton VS Wade Barrett VS Rey Mysterio VS Kofi Kingston

The match is set up with two briefcases, one for the World title and one for the WWE title. On the pre-show, Kingston is taken out by an angry 3MB after they are left off the show. The match goes on with great spots as Orton is able to win the first briefcase. The crowd goes wild when all men are down and Stone Cold's music hits, he is added to the match to by Vince and replaces Kingston and precedes to nails stunners on everyone and winning the second briefcase.

(This sets up next year's main event with Austin.)

Match 4#-Team Hell No (Unified Tag Team Champions) VS The Shield

The feud between them continues all the way up to Mania and The Shield walks out with the gold as Reigns interferes from outside allowing Ambrose to pin Bryan and The Shield win the first titles.

Match 5#-Dolph Ziggler (WHC Champion) VS Miz VS Sheamus VS Alberto Del Rio

Ziggler cashed in MITB after Del Rio was attacked by Big Show and defended it at Elimination Chamber thanks to Big E. Langston and A.J. Lee's help. The 4-Way for the title is made after Ziggler makes enemies of all the men. The Miz is brilliant in promos leading up to the event but comes up short when Ziggler retains the title after hitting Miz with A.J. Lee's Diva's Title.

Match 6#-Undertaker VS John Cena

After losing the Rumble, Cena looks to turn 2013 around and challenges The Undertaker. This is made out as the biggest challenge to The Streak but Undertaker wins after slipping out of the Attitude Adjustment and hitting the Tombstone. The two shake hands as Cena leaves looking disappointed.

(This will lead to the great Cena heel change later in the year.)

Main Event-The Rock (WWE Champion) VS Brock Lesnar

The match takes place after Rock defeats Punk at the Royal Rumble. Lesnar was a surprise entry in the event and won it to gain the title shot at Wrestlemania. After weeks of poking fun at Lesnar and a retribution beatdown by Brock, the match takes place with The Rock winning and keeping the title.

(The Rock will get beatdown by Lesnar and Punk the next night then Orton will cash in MITB to get the title off of The Rock.)

Matches in order as they appear on the card

Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
It all started after Del Rio eliminated Barrett from the WHC Elimination Chamber match. The following week on SD Barrett would take it up a notch and attack Ricardo Rodriguez while he was announcing Del Rio to the ring. Barrett avoided Del Rio for as long as he could and it all culminated after a high speed chase between Del Rio and Barrett. The two battled in the streets and Del Rio got the best of Wade and Wade now has revenge on his mind for Wrestlemania.

Match Summary: Del Rio and Barrett waste no time and start splitting shots as they get the crowd buzzing early on. Ricardo keeps the crowd pro Del Rio as he hits his big corner enzuguiri, but that isn’t enough to keep Barrett down. Del Rio gets his trademark armbar locked, but Barrett reaches the rope right as he was on the verge of tapping out. Barrett eventually gains control and goes for Wasteland, but ADR counters and goes for another armbar, but Barrett spins it into the devastating Bullhammer and the win.

Winner (and still Intercontinental Champion): Wade Barrett (9:39)

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
This feud has been heating up for months. Following a double elimination at the Royal Rumble and an after Rumble brawl between the two, Booker T felt Sheamus and Orton were frustrated and pit the two men in a tag team match. Following a disagreement Sheamus would get pinned by the Rhodes Scholars and Orton snapped post match and punted the Irishman in the head. Sheamus would return though at Elimination Chamber to seek out revenge. Following an attack from The Shield, Kane was taken out of the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber and Sheamus returned as his replacement and took out Orton. The two would continue brawling for weeks until Booker T made the match official for Wrestlemania.

Match Summary: The first of the “Big 5” Mania matches. Sheamus gets to beating up on Orton early, but following a cheap eye rake by Orton, the Viper gains the control of the match. Orton nails his trademark moves and following his hangman DDT Orton looks for the punt. However Sheamus gets back in it and nails a big axe hammer. Sheamus now has the edge as he wraps Orton in the ropes and pounds away. Sheamus then sets up for the Brogue Kick, but Orton counters for an RKO. That isn’t enough as Sheamus kicks out. Orton pounds at the mat as Sheamus gets up and Orton goes for another RKO. This time Sheamus pushes off and nails the turning Orton with a Brogue Kick and sends the Viper home crying.

Winner: Sheamus (14:21)

Kofi Kingston vs. Big Show
After qualifying for the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber, Kofi did the unthinkable. He eliminated the champion, Big Show from the match. Kingston’s celebration was short lived as he was jumped from behind and hit with the WMD from Big Show, thus eliminating him from the match. Kingston returned the favor and issued a brutal assault on Big Show, thus setting the stage for a Wrestlemania showdown.

Match Summary: Kingston starts the match and tries to get the offense going early, but Big Show proves to be too much as he swats Kingston away like a bug. Big Show continues to use his size as he keeps the high flying Kingston grounded but Kingston manages to get back into following a missed splash by Show. Kingston goes for Trouble in Paradise, but is caught and Show throws him back, but Kingston lands on his feet, takes Show to one knee and ends it with Trouble in Paradise.

Winner: Kofi Kingston (6:43)

WWE Tag Team Championship Gauntlet: Team Hell No (c) vs. Primetime Players vs. Rhodes Scholars vs. The 3MB vs. Rey Mysterio/Sin Cara vs. New Age Outlaws
How they did it, no one knows. But Team Hell No are still the tag team champions despite their dysfunctional relationship. And with the tag team division heating up, Vickie Guerrero decided to bring forth a gauntlet match for Wrestlemania pitting the best teams the WWE has to offer in one match.

Match Summary: Team Hell No and 3MB (Slater/Mahal) start and Hell No takes 3MB out early as Kane took out Mahal with a chokeslam. Next came the Primetime Players and same story, this time Bryan making DY tap out to the No Lock. Rhodes Scholars are in next and after coming up short so many times, they finally defeat the champs following a miscommunication, Rhodes hits the Cross Rhodes on Kane. Mysterio and Sin Cara are in next and Rhodes Scholars glory is short lived after Rey reverses Sandow’s Terminus neckbreaker into the 619. One team remains and to the shock of the crowd it is the New Age Outlaws, but that is short lived as they are ambushed by The Shield. Ambrose and Rollins steal their spot and steal the titles after Rollins puts Sin Cara down with a running Curb Stomp.

Winners (and new Tag Team Champions): The Shield (Seth Rollins/Dean Ambrose) (10:28)

Dolph Ziggler (w/ AJ Lee and Big E Langston) vs. Triple H (w/Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley)
Dolph Ziggler played the role of spoiler during the 2013 Royal Rumble after he eliminated the returning Triple H. Ziggler and AJ began boasting about how they are the WWE’s top power couple and the most dominant couple in history. Ziggler almost made history as he attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase but was startled as Triple H’s music hit. The Game returned to Raw and he wasn’t alone as his wife, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley by his side. As always Triple H had a lot to say. Triple H issued the challenge to Dolph Ziggler for Wrestlemania, which Ziggler denied. As time passed Steph got into the head of AJ Lee and AJ accepted the match on behalf of Dolph Ziggler.

Match Summary: Big E gets involved early and gets himself ejected. The loved ones also get involved as Steph and AJ brawl on the outside. Ziggler hits a Namedropper after controlling the match, but Triple H kicks out. A ZigZag comes to follow, but The Game grabs the ropes and then hits a Pedigree, but Ziggler flies to the outside. Trips gets Ziggler back in, but becomes involved in the catfight. Hunter finally gets back in and is nailed with a Superkick followed by a ZigZag for the finish.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler (15:17)

United States Championship: Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. The Miz
With CM Punk’s title reign coming to an end, Antonio Cesaro has become the WWE’s longest reigning and most dominant champion. Cesaro had run his way through the competition and he let everyone know about, in five languages (thank you very much). However there is one man who felt he had the goods to shut up Cesaro once and for all. That man, former WWE Champion and WM27 headliner, The Miz. Miz confronted Cesaro on an episode of WWE Main Event and made the Wrestlemania challenge.

Match Summary: Cesaro plays the heel role to a tee, as he avoids Miz until taking advantage. Early on Cesaro nails his wicked uppercut, but Miz stays strong. Cesaro goes for the Neutralizer following a string of dominance, but Miz counters with a back body drop. Miz then hits his corner clothesline and looks for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Cesaro nails a huge elbow to the head and then the Neutralizer for the win.

Winner (and still United States Champion): Antonio Cesaro (8:33)

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Ryback (c) vs. John Cena
Ryback finally accomplished championship glory following his dominating win at Elimination Chamber. Not only was it a dominating win, he eliminated the Big Show before another superstar even entered. Ryback’s victory caught the eye of WWE’s biggest star, John Cena. Cena impressed immensely by Ryback issued the challenge to the Mental Machine. Ryback, not afraid of a fight steps up to the plate in his biggest match yet.

Match Summary: After an epic staredown that consisted of “Feed Me More” and “Lets Go Cena…Cena Sucks” chants the two men battle it out. Each man took part in controlling the match. Cena had the advantage early on, hitting an Attitude Adjustment in the early goings that saw Ryback kick out after an one count. Ryback then took over and hit his series of trademark moves, including his Shellshock finish, but that saw only a two count. The end looked near when Cena locked in the STF, but Ryback managed to grab hold of the ropes. Following a Ryback comeback, Cena’s head was nearly knocked off following the Meathook Clothesline. Ryback would set up for another Shellshock, but Cena countered and lifted the Mental Machine up for the AA and Ryback countered. Cena would turn and be dropped with the Shellshock and the match.

Winner (and still World Heavyweight Champion): Ryback (14:35)

Divas Championship: Eve Torres (c) vs. Trish Stratus
Eve has dominated the divas division since September of 2012 and she isn’t afraid to let anyone know about it. Following a self held ceremony, declaring her the greatest women’s wrestler in history Eve was interrupted by beloved superstar, Mae Young. Mae didn’t have kind words for the champ as she tore Eve down, but Eve got the last laugh as she kicked Mae right in the knee, knocking the veteran down. Eve began a beatdown of the Hall of Famer and to the rescue came Trish Stratus as the crowd lost it. Stratus would issue the challenge and Eve would accept on the condition that the winner would be named not only the Divas Champion, but the greatest Diva in history.

Match Summary: Eve starts the offense early and goes to end it quick with her snap neckbreaker, but Trish counters and nails the Chick Kick that sends Eve into the ropes and then gets hit with a little Stratusfaction and Trish ends it in one of the quickest Divas Championship matches in Mania history.

Winner (and new Divas Champion): Trish Stratus (1:35)

Street Fight: CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar
After losing his WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble to The Rock, CM Punk enters the Royal Rumble match and shocks the world by winning the event. In rare fashion however, CM Punk does not want to wait until Wrestlemania to reclaim his title. Despite Paul Heyman’s advice to wait, Punk uses his opportunity that night on Raw. Following a grueling duel that saw the ref go down, Punk nails the GTS and it looks over. However Brock Lesnar returns and snaps Punk’s arm with the Kimora Lock. Lesnar leaves his carnage behind and Paul Heyman by his side. The WWE universe is in shock as Lesnar is back and has entered himself in the Elimination Chamber. Lesnar dominates the chamber leaving just him and The Rock. Lensar looks to have it, but CM Punk returns and rips open the chamber cage and takes out Lesnar with a series of lethal chair shots. And that leads us to Wrestlemania!

Match Summary: Punk and Lesnar engage in a brutal battle that sees Punk get busted up early on and refuse medical attention from the WWE staff. Lesnar takes control after that, but Punk gets back in it after a kick to a steel chair hitting Lesnar square in the face. In a match that goes all over Metlife Stadium, CM Punk seals the deal after numerous GTS’s and puts Lesnar to sleep once and for all. Post match Heyman tries to make amends, but Punk puts him to sleep as well, forever shutting him up.

Winner: CM Punk (20:57)

WWE Championship: The Rock (c) vs. The Undertaker
Following an amazing win at the Royal Rumble, The Rock is now WWE Champion. Rock and Punk would rematch the next night, which saw the return of Brock Lesnar. Rock then escapes the hellacious Elimination Chamber match as champion. The Rock has seemingly defeated everyone, but one man, The Undertaker. Taker returns the following Raw and confronts the Great One. Taker puts his streak on the line and The Rock puts his title up. In a match that features two of wrestling’s greatest icons, only one man can remain.

Match Summary: The match of a lifetime. Silence and flashbulbs is all you see before the bell rings as the Great One and the Phenom stare eye to eye. The battle ensues with Taker looking in the best shape in years as Rock takes every shot and then some. Rock starts his offense after a DDT counter and the People’s champ lays into the Deadman and hits the People’s Elbow early, but not enough to end the streak. Rock attempts a Rock Bottom, but Taker nails the chokeslam. Rock stays alive as him and Taker continue to split shots before Rock catches Old School into a Rock Bottom. The streak looks dead, but Taker is up at two as the crowd gasps. Rock looks to finish it with another People’s Elbow, but Taker sits up and catches Rocky with a Tombstone. Again not enough. Taker now goes for another, but Rock slides off and goes for a Rock Bottom and nails it, but in the follow through Taker manages to counter it into Hell’s Gate and the Rock has no choice but to quit.

Winner (and new WWE Champion): The Undertaker (28:31)

Please copy this voting form and paste it into your PM to GCB and then simply add in the names of the users from the best (1) to the worst (10). Like I said, rank yourself for fun (or simply place yourself 1 or 10) and I will ensure your vote for yourself is not counted.

I will then assign scores to rankings – a first placed ranking will score you 10 points, second 9 points, third 8 points etc … all the way down to 10th being worth 1 point.

If you enter and fail to vote, that actually would give you a slight advantage as you could get votes from others (when they miss out on points as they’re not allowed to vote for themselves) but you never get that lack of points if you don’t vote. Trust me, I can’t explain that very well but there is a definite advantage to not voting when everybpdy else does. Therefore, any entrant who does not vote will be penalised with a 10 point deduction to eliminate this advantage and to encourage you all to vote.

Right, that is all. Get voting. Don’t forget votes must be PM’d to GCB!

Good luck!

As mentioned in the BT Lounge by 'I Heart Wrestling', any readers that haven't entered can still vote. Just send in your votes to me via PM. GCB

*** ROUND 1 ***
BOOK WRESTLEMANIA 29!

For Round 1, you had to book WrestleMania 29 in advance and give the reasons for the matches you chose, the background behind the feuds and a brief outline of the match. Here is my feedback - up to you whether you take it on board obviously!

Bocaj:
  • Liked the idea of Punk and Taker but hated the DQ finish.
  • Three of WWE's top stars fighting over WHC was good, as it should be.
  • Not a fan of the idea of Sin Cara using facepaint really but the feud with Rey was solid enough.
  • Legends Battle Royal for the GM spot? Out of the guys chosen, only Edge would have any realistic chance of winning and he is never going to set foot in the ring again.
  • MITB - information on why/how Kofi, Truth and Brodus turned heel would have been good.
  • Good to see Tag division utilised well but where were Daniel Bryan and Kane? They can't be left out of WM!

georgelfc123:
  • Liked the WHC build for Ziggler vs. Orton vs. Sheamus, SMACKDOWN's top stars and a good win for Ziggler. I like.
  • TLC Tag Team matches are always fun.
  • I liked the idea of Christian putting over Cesaro but I think Cesaro has to face an American at WM!
  • Kofi and Swagger at WM doesn't interest me at all, we've seen it so many times before!
  • Who won the Royal Rumble? Did I miss something?
  • Not sure about CM Punk ending the streak. He doesn't need to, IMO. A young star needs that rub if anybody.

StraightEdgeSwagger:
  • I can see the WWE turning Swagger patriotic face and defeating Cesaro for US Title IRL. Nice, simple, fun.
  • Ziggler and Foley is a great call - if he isn't WHC before then, that's a good way to build heat on him further.
  • Initially, I disliked Shield vs. Taker / HHH / HBK but the build convinced me it would be fun ... BUT ...
  • ... Shield need a big win. Losing to three legendary P/T or retired guys isn't a good storyline for them to get into IMO.
  • Good story for Rock vs. Brock but I'm not sure about the loser leaving the WWE stipulation.
  • Cena ending Punk's title run strikes me as a little of an anti-climax - we've seen him try and fail a few times already.

JAM:
  • Hennig and DiBiase as a team is a good idea - their title win was a little underwhelming though for a new team!
  • Ryback winning Rumble and getting the WHC is a good move. MITB cash-in makes sense although it might be obvious seeing as Ziggler wasn't on the card!
  • Liked the Rock/Cena build, nice and solid.
  • Was it Barrett and Ohno? Or Barrett and Kofi? ... Little things in BT need to be right!
  • Didn't like the Rock/Cena stipulations - too obvious that Cena HAS to win that!
  • Sheamus is not yet, IMO, at a level where he can forget title opportunities to chase the Streak. I didn't like that to be honest.

Peep:
  • Enjoyed the Rock/Cena/Punk ideas, good call. Would be an amazing match.
  • Orton and Lesnar, the use of Heyman in the build was good.
  • Ryback winning the WHC makes complete sense to me.
  • Sheamus and Ziggler - two of the hottest rising stars low down on the card? I'd like to see something more high profile for one/both of them.
  • Like I said earlier to George, Cesaro needs to face an American - not a Mexican Mysterio.
  • I can't say the idea of Shield going after the Tag titles appeals to me. I like their current gang warfare thing and placing them in the Tag division limits them IMO.

Hollywood Nightmare:
  • Swagger as US Champion - as I've said already to someone, makes sound booking sense and I think it could actually happen.
  • The Punk/Taker thing was good - Taker had to win but I think the manner of victory does protect Punk a little.
  • Lesnar and Rock, solid build. Again, good use of Heyman.
  • Christian mixing with the Shield? Not for me. And getting the pinfall on them? No thanks. Shield don't need to suffer that loss at WM for me.
  • Ziggler fed to Cena after Cena wins the Rumble, I hate that. Ziggler is up and coming and feeding him to Cena sucks, IMO.
  • Regal with Ryback was a bit of a curveball! Don't think you needed to use him unless he was going into the HOF and that could give Ryback a reason.

Global Icon:
  • Like the concepts behind Taker and Punk, a good feud.
  • Cena winning the title from Rock. If the WWE want a Cena moment, that is the way to have him get it - winning the title back from Rock at WM would be OK for me.
  • Swagger as US Champion, a few have done it, it makes complete sense.
  • The big 8-man tag thing seemed forced. I would split it - HHH vs. Lesnar and Shield vs. Ryback (in some way) would have been better.
  • Orton and Del Rio bores me. We've seen it so often already.
  • Barrett, Kofi and Miz - a Triple Threat changes the dynamic a little but it doesn't change the fact I've seen those three in the ring together a lot lately. I wouldn't be interested.

I Heart Wrestling:
  • Ziggler defeating Sheamus and retaining the WHC. Big win for Ziggler and a high profile match for these two. Like.
  • Punk and HHH is a main event I wanted to see last WM (though Punk - Jericho was fun) and would love to see it resurrected. HHH win though?
  • Taker and Brock was good, I could see Brock using Rumble win to go after the Streak.
  • Orton, Miz and Del Rio facing Shield is OK but not with Orton winning it. Shield need that one, for me.
  • Tag Tournament - done recently. New champs is fine but by having Kane cost Bryan, it weakens the champions before they've even started IMO.
  • Ryback and Show only works for me with the title on the line. Otherwise, it'd be a crap match rather than a crap match with exciting title interest!

KillSteenKill:
  • 2 briefcases in MITB could be fun - bit overkill though if MITB PPV still happens.
  • Taker and Cena is a match I'm dying to see before Taker retires.
  • Ziggler with a good, solid win to retain WHC, good move. He needs to be booked strong when he becomes champion.
  • Shield don't need Tag titles, IMO.
  • Lesnar and Rock, no problem with that match. Have an issue with 2 P/T wrestlers fighting for the WWE's prestigious title at WM though even if Orton takes it back the next night. Doesn't look good.
  • Lack of detail not good - wanted to know more about Cena/Taker build.
  • Austin in the MITB match? Hahahaha. No. No. Just, no.

Theo:
  • Punk and Lesnar build - love idea of Punk losing to Rock but then winning the Rumble. BEST IN THE WORLD!
  • Ryback and Cena for WHC - a match I'm strangely interested in seeing the WWE book. A 2-face match but your build was excellent.
  • Huge win for Ziggler over HHH, like it.
  • Orton and Sheamus, no issue with this match but it needs the title. Maybe if Ryback faces Cena for WWE, Orton and Sheamus for WHC and Rock/Taker non-title?
  • Short Divas match - why would WWE feed Eve to Trish in such a short time?
  • Rock and Taker for WWE Title - as I said to KillSteenKill, I hate the idea of 2 P/T guys fighting for a title.

There's my opinions but you just want to know who is out don't you?

*** ROUND 2 ***
*** A 'MATCH OF THE YEAR' CONTENDER? ***

Nice and simple for Round 2 - you need to write one match. You need to choose two wrestlers - one past, one present - but it is up to you which ones. I would say that present wrestlers are those contracted to WWE or TNA as a wrestler right now - unless any of you have obscure knowledge of Japan or indies! So, for example, you could do:

Bret Hart vs. Kurt Angle
Hulk Hogan vs. John Cena
British Bulldog vs. Wade Barrett
Eddie Guerrero vs. Alberto Del Rio
Stone Cold vs. CM Punk

Obviously, there are a couple who could fit either description, i.e. The Rock, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho. In those cases, please consider them as current wrestlers.

I've included two deceased wrestlers in the examples (RIP) - I'm fine with that as I see one match as a mark of respect for their work. If you don't like it, just don't use them. I'd urge people not to penalise people for using them when it comes to voting though.

*** RULES ***

No word limit for this round

No gimmick matches at all - simply a one-on-one match

No managers at ringside - even if they were/are always there

No DQ or countout finish

The match does not need to be put in any context - if you wish to give basic information about who is face and who is heel, that is cool

*** DEADLINE ***

You need to PM your entry for Round 2 to GCB by Friday February 8th, 2013 @ 21:00 GMT

2 participants will be eliminated from the tournament in Round 2!

*** WHAT I'LL BE LOOKING FOR ***
(although others may differ!)

Whilst some of you write short, recapped matches in your BT, match writing (full) is a key skill when it comes to PPV's - at least for the main events! Therefore, in Round 2, I want to see a detailed (but succinct), clear, well written, well paced and effective match that uses realism throughout. In other words:

Spelling and grammar well used

Formatting clear and easy to read

Realistic moves for both wrestlers

A journey through the match that makes sense and interests me

Not just a list of sentences telling me about moves - I want more detail than that

Not repetitive or boring

*** GOOD LUCK! ***

Here are the Round 2 entries - posted quick as I've not got much time:

CM Punk vs. Bret Hart

In this case, Bret Hart is in his prime, CM Punk is in his prime.

Okay, so on an episode of Monday Night RAW, 6 weeks before WrestleMania, CM Punk came out with his WWE Championship in tow. Punk proclaimed himself to be the best technical wrestler the world has ever seen, not only that, but he proclaimed himself to be the Best In The World. Punk went on to talk some more, before ending with a catchphrase only one man can deem to perfection.

“I, CM Punk, The WWE Champion is the best there is..the best there was..and the BEST THERE EVER WILL BE.”

But once CM Punk finished that plausible sentence, familiar music began to play, the music of Bret Hart. After a two year break from WWE, Bret Hart came out to a thunderous applause from the crowd as Punk stood in the ring with a face like he had just seen a ghost. Bret Hart entered the ring as Punk didn’t even utter a word. Hart then went on to insult Punk and then take back what’s rightfully his, but as Bret Hart began to utter his famous catchphrase, he was met by a microphone shot by CM Punk. Punk proceeded to mock the fallen Hart before adding insult to injury and putting Bret Hart in a Sharpshooter. Punk posed with the Championship to end the show

The following week, CM Punk came out to open the show. Punk talked about the week prior and began to insult Bret Hart. Punk even went as far as to mimic him. However, John Cenadidn’t see the funny side of this and came out to even the odds. Cena challenged Punk to a match for that week’s main event. In the main event, CM Punk defeated Cen after rolling him up using his tights for leverage. As Punk was celebrating, Bret Hart ran out and a brawl ensued. Punk ended up having Hart on his shoulders only for Cena to come in for the save, Cena took Punk out and hit him with an Attitude Adjustment, leaving Bret Hart to do what he had set out to do..place CM Punk in the Sharpshooter. Hart did just that, and celebrated with Cena to end the show.

In the third week of the build to WrestleMania, a match was made. CM Punk came out to open the show, angry, confused and with a vengeance. Punk concluded his segment by challenging Bret Hart to a match, RAW then cut to a commercial without an answer. As we returned, the announcers told us that Bret Hart would answer Punk’s challenge for WrestleMania later on in the night. As the show went on, the announcers hyped Bret Hart’s answer and when the time came, it didn’t disappoint. At first, it looked as though Bret Hart was going to reject Punk’s offer, however, when the WWE Champion came out, we saw a different side to Hart. After weeks of insults, Bret Hart decided enough was enough and accepted CM Punk’s challenge. The show ended with a face-to-face showdown between Bret Hart and CM Punk.

Basically, that’s how the match came about…now onto the match

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP:
CM PUNK © VS. BRET HART

The fans were excited, hyped, as tension swept through the arena. A dream match up was about to take place, one that will blow the roof off the arena. Two technical legends stepping into the ring, only one can return to RAW tomorrow night with the bragging rights. Who will it be? CM Punk comes out first to thunderous boo’s from the audience. Punk walks out with Bret Hart sunglasses on and mimics Hart’s pose at the top of the ramp, which makes the crowd’s hatred for him surf even further. Punk walks down to the ring smiling holding the WWE Championship high above his head. Punk stops at a child in attendance and takes off his sunglasses. Punk looks as if he’s going to give the kid the sunglasses but insead, Punk breaks them and throws them down on the ramp. Punk laughs in his face before entering the ring. Punk poses in the ring before being cut off by Bret Hart’s theme, the fans roar huge as Hart comes out. Bret Hart walks down to the ring, and he gives his sunglasses to the child CM Punk teased earlier on. Hart enters the ring and looks ready for the fight as the bell rings.

Punk and Hart circle the ring before talking smack to each other. Out of nowhere, CM Punk slaps Bret Hart and Hart comes back with a huge take down. Hart with shots to the head of Punk followed by stomps. Hart picks Punk up and irish whips him towards the turnbuckles. Hart runs at Punk but Punk moves and Hart goes shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Hart falls back and is met by a huge roundhouse kick by CM Punk sending Hart down to the mat. Punk poses over Hart before picking him up. Punk with chops to the chest of Hart before irish whipping him into the ropes, Hart rebounds straight into a dropkick by Punk. Punk then takes down Hart with a Lou Thesz Press as the announcers remind us what happened on RAW during the contract signing when Bret Hart locked Punk in the Sharpshooter. Hart gets to his feet but is taken down again this time by a punch from Punk. Punk now with a leg drop as Hart rolls out of the ring. Bret regains some focus before re-entering the ring. As soon as he gets back in, he’s bet by kicks from Punk, Punk sends Hart down to his knees and is about to hit a huge kick to the temple but Hart does and takes down by the legs. Both men exchange shots and Hart seems to get the better of Punk. Hart takes Punk down with a clothesline but Punk gets straight back to his feet but is taken back down by Hart. Hart seems to be getting some momentum as the crowd are going crazy, Hart with a big boot sending Punk down and Hart heads for the top. Hart with an elbow drop..BUT PUNK MOVES!

Hart is rolling around holding his elbow as CM Punk re-cuperates in the corner of the ring. Punk gets to his feet and picks Hart up, Punk sends Hart into the corner and hits a running knee followed by a bulldog. Punk now does his ‘Go to Sleep’ signal and the fans are booing, Hart is getting to his feet, Hart turns around and Punk picks Hart up on his shoulders, Punk HITS THE GTS! BUT WAIT, BRET HART REVERSES THE GTS INTO A SHARPSHOOTER! AND PUNK IS IN SO MUCH PAIN RIGHT NOW, YOU CAN SEE IT IN HIS FACE! PUNK IS ABOUT TO TAP, BUT HE’S GETTING CLOSER TO THE ROPES..AND PUNK GETS TO THE ROPES! The ref forces Hart to let go as the crowd groans in disappointment. Hart looks angry as he picks Punk up, but wait! Punk with the Anaconda Vise. A huge mistake by Hart there. Hart has nowhere to go and Punk has it in full lock, he’s got it in perfectly. Hart can’t move, he’s passing out. The referee grabs Hart’s arm, and he’s lifting it up, and it falls once! He does it again, and it falls twice! It could be over here, the referee lifts Hart’s arm up..but he keeps it up, and now Hart’s going crazy, Hart is pushing Punk away. Punk looks shocked and runs at Hart but Hart with a clothesline. Punk is up again, and runs at Hart but Hart with a back body drop. Hart with the cover but Punk with the kick out at two. Hart argues with the ref before continuing to work on CM Punk. Hart grabs Punk by the arm and yields him up. Punk with a punch taking Hart back, Punk runs at Hart but Hart with a huge takedown. Punk ends up pushing Hart away and leaves the ring. Punk walks up to the ring keeper and grabs the WWE Championship from him and proceeds to head up the ramp. Punk smirks at Hart as Hart leaves the ring and chases him up the ramp, Punk goes to hit him with the Championship belt but Hart ducks and hits him with a huge superkick. Hart then pulls Punk back down to the ring, and is setting Punk up for his signature Piledriver. Punk gets to his feet and turns around..and he is met by a huge piledriver by Bret Hart. Hart pulls his straps down, and he’s looking for the Sharpshooter! He grabs Punk’s legs, but Punk kicks him away, Hart falls back but manages to keep hold of Punk’s legs, and Hart locks in the Sharpshooter! Punk is screaming for help as Hart locks it in the tightest it can be. Punk moves closer to the ropes but Hart pulls him back! Luckily for Punk, he manages to use his legs to push Hart away. Punk then uses the ropes for leverage and gets back to his feet but is limping his way around. Hart and Punk then begin to exchange punches before Hart gets Punk in a waist-lock, Punk manages to reverse and gets Hart into a headlock. Hart elbows his way out of that and takes Punk down with a huge right hand. Hart regains some energy before going back to work on Punk. Hart lifts Punk up and Punk slaps Hart in the face once again! Hart seems to be getting angrier and angrier as the crowd roars in excitement. Hart runs at Punk but Punk runs away. Punk smiles at the fact he’s getting inside Hart’s head and runs into the ring, Hart follows him in and Punk takes Hart down with a roundhouse kick to the temple. Punk looks in a stain of shock as he heads up top. Punk raises his arms in the air as the crowd shout in disappointment. Punk seems to be looking for the signature Elbow Drop, and it connects!

The fans boo as CM Punk taunts the lifeless Bret Hart. Punk lifts Hart up by the hair and sets him up on his shoulders. Punk winks at the fans before delivering a huge GTS to Bret Hart. Punk then decides to strut around the ring, instead of covering Hart. Punk finally decides to go for the cover,

ONNNNEEEEEEEEEEE……

TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…..

BUT BRET HART KICKS OUT! CM PUNK LOOKS ON IN DISBELIEF AS BRET HART LIFTS HIS SHOULDER UP JUST BEFORE THE COUNT OF THREE! Punk’s face turns from shock to anger now as he picks Hart up, he’s looking for another GTS! But wait, Punk seems to be having second thoughts. He drops Hart back down on his back and looks at the crowd, Punk begins to get emotional and walks around the ring. Suddenly he stops…and he makes the Sharpshooter signal. When fans thought CM Punk was having second thoughts about this whole ordeal, the disrespect level rises higher and higher! Punk looks to be having difficulty locking Hart in the Sharpshooter though! Hart kicks Punk away and as soon as Punk turns around, Hart has lifted him up on his shoulders! AND BRET HART HITS A GTS OF HIS OWN ON CM PUNK! HART WITH THE COVER,

ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE….

TWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO…

THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE….!!!!!

BUT CM PUNK KICKS OUT! OH MY GOD, CM PUNK HAS JUST KICKED OUT! THIS IS PHENOMENAL, PUNK JUST KICKED OUT OF HIS OWN FINISHER AND BRET HART CAN’T BELIEVE HIS EYES. HART JUST DOESN’T KNOW WHAT MORE HE CAN DO TO PUT THE WWE CHAMPION AWAY! Hart gets to his feet and looks at the WWE Universe wondering what else he can do. Bret Hart walks up to Punk and stares at him. Hart picks Punk up, and he gets Punk in a powerbomb position. Hart has Punk up, but Punk reverses the powerbomb into a rollup! PUNK COULD STEAL THIS ONE!!

ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE….

TWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOO…

BUT A KICKOUT BY BRET HART, AND BOTH MEN QUICKLY GET TO THEIR FEET, AND THEY TAKE EACH OTHER OUT WITH A CLOTHESLINE. BOTH MEN WENT FOR THE SAME MOVE AND NOW THEY’RE BOTH DOWN AND OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING. The referee checks on both men before starting his count. Luckily both men get up at the count of four and the match shall continue. Hart and Punk are now exchanging blows, Hart with a kick to the mid-section followed by a big bodyslam. Hart stumbles around the ring, clearly in pain as the crowd roars in approval. Hart sits down in the center of the ring as Punk struggles to get back to his feet, Punk gets up and he turns around and Hart looks to be going for the Sharpshooter, but Punk fights Hart off, ANANCONDA VISE! IT CONNECTS, BUT WAIT, HART FIGHTS OUT, AND HART’S GOING FOR A PILEDRIVER BUT PUNK PUSHES HART AWAY, GO TO SLEEP! GO TO SLEEP! CM PUNK CONNECTS WITH A GTS OUT OF NOWHERE TO THE HITMAN! IT’S OVER, CM PUNK IS GOING TO RETAIN! PUNK WITH THE COVER!!

ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE….

TWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO…

THRRRRRRRREEE-----

BUT BRET HART KICKS OUT! MY WORD, BRET HART HAS JUST KICKED OUT OF THE GTS. PUNK IS IN DISTAIN, PUNK CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT HE’S SEEING, NEITHER CAN THE FANS, NEITHER CAN THE CROWD. Nevertheless, they’re delighted that Hart has kicked out. Punk picks Hart up, and once again lifts Hart up on his shoulders, surely this is the end now! AND THE GTS CON--, WAIT, HART REVERSES INTO A SHARPSHOOTER, HE DID THIS EARLIER ON IN THE MATCH! PUNK MAY TAP! PUNK MAY TAP! THERE’S NOWHERE TO GO, THEY’RE IN THE CENTER OF THE RING, BUT WAIT, PUNK REVERSES THE SHARPSHOOTER INTO A ROLLUP, BUT HART REFUSES TO LET THAT HAPPEN AND KICKS OUT INSTANTLY. Hart gets straight back to his feet, only to be met by the Anaconda Vise by CM Punk! Punk has Hart locked in the Anaconda Vise. One of the most deadliest submission holds on the century has been locked in on Bret Hart. Hart doesn’t know what to do, quite frankly, Hart doesn’t know where he is! Hart can’t move, he doesn’t have enough left but he’s resistant, there’s no way Bret Hart will tap out, and that’s why! BRET HART HAS JUST PUSHED PUNK OFF HIM, HE’S UNLOCKED HIMSELF FROM THE ANACONDA VISE, BUT NOW HE WALKS STRAIGHT INTO A GTS! IT’S OVER NOW…SURELY! PUNK JUST COLLAPSES ON TOP OF HART!

ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEE….

TWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…

THRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! !!

Winner and STILL WWE Champion: CM Punk.

‘Cult Of Personality’ blares through the arena as Punk manages to pull himself off of Hart and uses the ropes to get back to his feet. A huge smile emerges on the face of CM Punk as the fans look on in utter disappointment. The ref hands CM Punk the WWE Championship and Punk poses on all four turnbuckles proclaiming himself to be the Best In The World. Whilst CM Punk is celebrating, Bret Hart manages to re-cuperate and Punk turns around to see Bret Hart stood…applauding him! Punk poses with the WWE Championship, but whilst disappointed, Hart looks gracious in defeat and extends his hand out to the WWE Champion. Punk looks at Hart, and then looks at the fans, before looking at the WWE Championship. CM Punk extends his hand out, before taking it back in as Hart is stood there confused. After much hesitation, CM Punk finally decides to shake Hart’s hand and Bret Hart pulls him in for a hug. Hart raises Punk’s arm as Punk poses with the Title. Hart leaves the ring for Punk to continue his celebrations. The fans seem to have forgiven Punk and they cheer him as he walks up the ramp. Punk turns around, and holds the WWE Championship up in the air, shouting, ‘BEST IN THE WORLD!’ as WrestleMania goes off the air.

“The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels
vs.
“The Show-Off” Dolph Ziggler

The animosity between the “Show-Off” and “Good ‘ol Haitch-Bee-Kay” has been building leading to this moment right now. The raucous crowd in San Antonio, Texas have enjoyed a good Smackdown episode so far and the main event will surely not disappoint. The bell rings signaling the start of this fine match-up. The two men stare holes through each other not taking their eyes off each other. Once the crowd gets all riled up, they circle one another looking for an opening. They engage in a lock up where Ziggler gets the advantage with a side headlock. HBK pushes Ziggler off the ropes only for Ziggler to rebound and score with a shoulder tackle. The Show Off takes the time to get a little strut in his walk as his flicks his hair at HBK who gets up after that take down. They lock up once again and this time its HBK who rebounds off the ropes and hits a shoulder tackle. But instead of showing off, HBK goes for the quick pin, 1! Kickout by Ziggler.

Ziggler seems frustrated after HBK tried to end the match that early. He gets all riled up and runs with a full head of steam towards HBK backing him down to a corner. He scores with some punches to the body only for the referee to break it up. When Ziggler comes back to HBK, Shawn switches position with Ziggler and hits him with a chop, woo! Chop – woo! Ziggler comes out of the corner with pain etched on his face, holding his chest area. No luck for Ziggler here as HBK backs him down to another corner and continues with the chops! It is now clear that Ziggler’s chest area is red as an apple, even seeing some blood after those vicious chops. HBK whips Ziggler but Ziggler counters and whips HBK off the ropes instead. On HBK’s rebound, boom! A picture perfect dropkick right to the kisser of Shawn. Ziggler sees the opening here and takes some time to breathe as both men are down.

Ziggler is up to his feet first, albeit spaghetti-legged. He grabs HBK by the hair and taunts him saying, “I got you now Shawn, I got you now.” He gets HBK to his feet and hits with another well placed dropkick, this time he goes for the cover – 1, 2, Kickout! The crowd boo the smugness of Ziggler here but can do nothing to help HBK but chant his name. Again Ziggler gets HBK to his feet by grabbing his hair and whipping him to a corner. Ziggler runs full steam ahead and connects with a Ziggler Splash and catches HBK and just throws him down. Ziggler again looks to the crowd and points to HBK as if saying, “Is this all you got HBK?” He lifts his elbow up to make a point of emphasis before leaping off the floor and connecting with the jumping elbow. Another cover – 1, 2, 3 – NO! A kickout from HBK!

The crowd cheer for the kickout by HBK but Ziggler doesn’t share their opinion and goes on to complain to referee Charles Robinson about the count being too slow, but Robinson stands firm on his decision. Ziggler gets up waiting for his prey to stand looking ready to hit something big. HBK uses the ropes to get to his feet and when he turns he gets planted by Ziggler with Jumping DDT which HBK sells quite nicely being vertically straight then falling over. The crowd moan and grunt at that move which looked to be very painful. Ziggler doesn’t go for the cover right away and instead does some sit-ups to show off for the fans yet again. Now he goes for the cover – 1, 2, KICKOUT! Ziggler is incensed at Charles Robinson yet again but Robinson doesn’t give Ziggler what he wants. Ziggler doesn’t waste anymore time and gets HBK to his feet. He whips HBK but HBK counters with an Irish Whip of his own. On Ziggler’s rebound, HBK ducks down seemingly going for a back body drop but Ziggler spots this and kicks HBK right on the sternum, turning him backwards towards the ropes. Ziggler tries for the Zig Zag but HBK holds onto the ropes!

The Show Off runs at HBK again but HBK scores with an atomic drop! Ziggler doesn’t fall yet but finally does after a hard right by HBK. Another hard right by HBK hits before he slams Ziggler down on the mat. HBK holds onto his back which seems to be aching but goes outside and climbs the ropes. Once up there, he leaps off the ropes in perfect elbow drop form and drops it right to the heart of Ziggler. Time for the cover – 1, 2, 3! – NO! A kickout from the Show Off! The crowd again moans at this but HBK doesn’t let this dampen his spirits. He goes to a corner and starts stomping his feet with the crowd going along with him, willing him on. It takes him a while, but Ziggler finally gets to his feet. He turns – HBK misses with the Sweet Chin Music as Ziggler ducks it! Ziggler kicks HBK right in the gut and whips off the ropes, FAME-ASSER! – NO! HBK throws Ziggler off therefore not connecting with the move. With Ziggler flailing to keep his balance, he tries to turn back to HBK and when he does – BAM! Sweet Chin Music connects! The crowd is going nuts after that sequence from the two superstars! HBK instantly falls to cover Ziggler – 1, 2, 3! It’s over.

Winner: “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels (16:22)

The crowd roars in cheers with HBK picking up the victory here. Ziggler slowly rolls outta the ring. The camera picks up HBK who needs the help of Charles Robinson to stay afloat. Robinson raises HBK’s hand in the air only for the crowd to pop even more for him. HBK gets on the apron and claps for the fans as if saying he couldn’t have done this without him. He comes back down from the apron and points at Ziggler who is up at the top of the stage holding onto his jaw. HBK points at him and gives him an applause which the San Antonio crowd do as well applauding the match that the two just had. Ziggler had a confused look on his face before Smackdown went off the air.

Back story:

Stone Cold Steve Austin and CM Punk engaged in an intense, yet simple build up to their Wrestlemania 27 encounter. Austin was announced as the man to award the winner of the WWE Championship match at Wrestlemania, with a brand, spanking new title belt. However, frustrated that he couldn’t be involved in the contest between John Cena and The Miz, CM Punk would begin to harass the Rattlesnake during his appearances on the road to Wrestlemania. Punk would claim that he was not only the best in the world, but the best of all time; something which was often attributed to the Bionic Redneck. Especially now, Punk would exclaim, Austin was practically a pensioner as he earned his keep making lame appearances at his former rival’s request. Austin would quickly accept and the match was set. Austin vs. Punk. Past vs. Present. Who would emerge victorious?

Match:

With both of their entrances complete, CM Punk and Stone Cold now stand just feet away from each in the ring with their eyes locked. Eventually, the official would move out of the way to allow the two competitors to charge into battle and a frantic, explosive first few minutes of action would follow. Both men would go back and forth, exchanging offence in the opening moments of the match and with intensity etched across both of their faces, they didn’t look like they wanted to give a single inch to the other. However, an overzealous attempt at an early stunner from the Rattlesnake would allow CM Punk to gain control and he quickly began to target his nemesis’ back. As we join the action around ten minutes in, CM Punk begins to lose his cool as Austin breaks free from his grasp after a long stretch of receiving punishment to his battered back.

Punk tries to kept significant force on Austin’s back in order to keep him grounded but with a harsh yelp, the Rattlesnake swiftly rises up and shifts his weight forward so that his opponent tumbles across the ring. With a hand clasped to his back and a look of pain across his face, Austin doesn’t appear as though he can even defend himself from another attack as Punk charges back at him. However, Stone Cold is able to drop the Straight Edge Superstar with a right hand just in time to a huge pop from the live crowd. Punk wobbles slightly on his feet and Austin goes straight onto the attack; battering his adversary in the face over and over again with a set of classic, brutal punches. With his eyes glassing over slightly, Punk slumps against the ropes but, with a shake of his head Stone Cold instantly grabs him by the scruff, sprints towards the other side of the ring and tosses his opponent over the top rope.

Austin grits his teeth in anguish but as he turns on his heels to keep track of Punk, he notices that the former world champion held onto the ropes and is still on the apron. As the crowd urge him forward, Stone Cold wanders back towards his opponent but the ever crafty Punk ducks under his blow and snaps his head off of the top rope. The Second City Saint takes a deep breath and begins to taunt the fans behind him with a raised fist and a cruel smirk, before placing his focus back on Austin. With a huge cry towards the audience that he is indeed the ‘best in the world’, Punk springboards into the ring with a clothesline in mind but his plan quickly falls through. Austin covered a tonne of ground in the time Punk was running his mouth and manages to catch his nemesis over his shoulder as he flies through the air.

With his back obviously straining, Austin doesn’t prance around the ring with his opponent on his shoulders and instead roughly drops him neck first across the top rope. CM Punk slumps once more against the ropes and Stone Cold doesn’t allow him a second of reprieve as he charges forward and drops his adversary over the ropes with a clothesline. Although Punk looks as though as he is prepared to flee from an advancing Austin on the outside, he quickly swivels on his feet and begins battering his opponent with hard shots. However, with a roar, the Bionic Redneck simply grabs a tight hold of Punk and drives him into the steel steps. Punk replies with a roar of his own, this one of pain, and Austin causes him to yelp once more as he grabs him by his hair and slams his head off the steel steps.

Stone Cold does the same three more times as he drags his unpopular opponent towards the announce desk, but this time it is right in front of Jerry Lawler and an appreciative Jim Ross. While Punk scampers away towards the timekeeper’s desk, Austin soaks in the adulation of a massive pop from the capacity crowd as he bars his teeth. However, as the Rattlesnake heads back towards his adversary, he soon has to clutch at his knee as Punk kicks a lone steel chair into his limb. With a sick smile, Punk then rams Austin back first into the nearest steel ring post as he hobbles on his damaged peg. But, the crowd absolutely explode as Punk’s smile is wiped from his face as Austin unloads a volley of punches to his jaw. The Straight Edge Saint manages to block a fourth, tired punch from his and rushes back into the ring; Austin hot on his trail.

However, the Rattlesnake stumbles slightly as he slips under the bottom rope and Punk takes full advantage as he batters his rival with a calf kick to the mush. Punk orders the referee to count as he shoots the half...

2... AUSTIN POWERS OUT!

A slightly irked Straight Edge Superstar gets to his feet, but not without smacking the back of his adversary’s head off the canvas, and waits for Austin to do the same. Once Stone Cold gets up to a stable base, Punk slaps him hard across the face once, then again with his left and hits a spinning back fist to keep the Rattlesnake reeling. However, as CM Punk attempts to finish off the combination with a roundhouse kick Austin ducks under the blow and boots his opponent in the gut instead. The crowd begin to squeal with excitement as Austin loads up the Stone Cold Stun- NO! Punk manages to shove the Rattlesnake away and as he spins back on his heels, the Straight Edge Superstar knocks his lights with a roundhouse kick to the side of the skull. Austin crumples onto his back and CM Punk falls into the pinfall...

2... STONE COLD STAYS ALIVE WITH A KICK OUT!

Punk roars with frustration as Austin kicks out and immediately mounts his opponent to unload shot after shot to his exposed forehead. The official orders Punk away but he can’t keep him back for long and Punk quickly drags Austin, a hand to his lower back, up to his feet. To a wave of jeers, Punk quickly reels off a snap suplex and once the move is complete, he shouts loudly that he is ‘the best...’. Once again, the former world champion lifts Austin up, plants him with an emphatic back suplex and then cries ‘...of all’ to a round of heat from the fans. CM Punk, with a smirk, slowly drags his rival up to his feet and whips him hard into the nearest corner. Before Austin’s battered back can even settle into the ‘buckles, CM Punk thunders towards him and rocks his jaw with a knee.

The Straight Edge Superstar scoops up Austin’s neck in his grip and rushes into the ring as he shouts ‘time’; but Stone Cold puts on the brakes to a huge ovation. Although it’s an obvious strain, Austin lifts Punk up off his feet, twists him around and plants him with a swift spinebuster. Both men take a while to gain their footing once more and begin to exchange sharp right hands; with the Bionic Redneck quickly taking control of that contest. After dropping his hated rival with a huge shot, Stone Cold drives Punk into the corner with his boot and begins to stomp a mud hole in his torso as Jim Ross practically wets his pants. The referee orders Austin to back off and Punk tries to take advantage by launching himself at his opponent with a clothesline, but Stone Cold ducks under the blow.

Punk continues with his run, snaps off the ropes and ducks under an elbow from Austin. The Chicago native hits the ropes once more but as he runs towards the centre of the ring, he is clobbered with a Lou Thesz press from his adversary. After unloading a round of hard right hands to his opponent as he scrambles on the canvas, Austin hits the ropes himself and pounds an elbow into Punk’s mush after some theatrics. Stone Cold shoves Punk’s head down to the mat and hooks his leg...

2... CM PUNK SLIPS A SHOULDER UP!

The crowd all get up to their feet in anticipation as Stone Cold stalks his prey; that prey being a very groggy CM Punk. Austin kicks his adversary in the stomach and grabs a hold of his jaw, but Punk spins out and instead hoists Stone Cold up onto his shoulders. With a rather evil grin on his face CM Punk doesn’t waste a moment as he drops Austin down onto his knee, however, but the Bionic Redneck catches his rival’s peg just in time. Stone Cold shoves his opponent away and swings a heavy clothesline, but Punk ducks underneath it and catches Austin with a scoop powerslam. The official quickly drops down to the mat and starts the count...

2...

3... NO! AUSTIN KEEPS IT GOING WITH A KICK OUT!

Both competitors spring up to their feet instantly to try and gain an advantage over the other but Austin strikes first, springing a Stone Cold Stunner out of nowhere! Austin crawls across the canvas into the cover and eventually lands an arm over Punk’ shoulder...

1...

2...

3... WAIT, NO! PUNK GETS A FOOT ON THE ROPE!

Austin and Punk take several moments to drag themselves up, bruised and exhausted, once more but their hatred for one another pushes them into the middle of the ring for battle. The pair begin to exchange heavy right hands, with the crowd echoing each blow with a loud ‘boo’ or ‘yeah’, and it is Stone Cold who begins to take control. After a trio of stinging punches, CM Punk falls into the ropes and Austin looks set to wind up one, final blow. However, the Second City Saint ducks underneath the blow, scoops Austin up onto his shoulders and swiftly plants him with the GTS. The crowd are shocked and Punk collapses into a pinfall, hooking both of his opponent’s legs...

2...

3... IT’S NOT OVER! AUSTIN KICKS OUT!

Punk lies on the mat, almost tearing out his greasy, black locks when he notices that Stone Cold, despite a bloody nose, has hauled himself up into a sitting position. The crowd urge Austin up but Punk quickly batters him across the jaw with an elbow shot, watches his rival fall back to the canvas and then quickly locks in the Anaconda Vice! Stone Cold writhes in pain and Punk, his features screwed up in hatred, screams in his face to give up as the crowd pop up off their asses to get a closer look. Austin cries out in pain, his eyes clenched shut in an attempt to block out the pain and he holds his free arm out as if he is ready to throw in the towel. However, just as it looks as though his arm is set to hit the canvas in submission, Austin wraps his beefy arm around his adversary’s exposed neck.

Stone Cold yanks back on Punk’s neck to break the submission hold and with his arm still around his opponent’s neck; he starts working his way up to his feet. The crowd explode as they notice Austin’s strategy because the moment he gets to a stable base, he is in perfect position to execute the Stone Cold Stunner and does exactly that as both boots are firm on the canvas. Although Punk absolutely ate another stunner, the force of the move forces him to stumble backwards and tumble through the ropes to the outside. With a groan, Austin slowly gathers Punk back into the ring and chucks him to the canvas, well from the ropes this time, before hooking a leg...

3... PUNKS QUICKS OUT WITH MILISECONDS TO SPARE!

Both Austin and the crowd groan in frustration and the Rattlesnake seemingly thinks over his options for a moment, before his eyes fall on the nearest corner. Stone Cold hauls his opponent up onto the top ‘buckle and clambers up after him, a malicious glint in his cold, blue eyes. Knowing the move will damage him also, Austin clenches his jaw but doesn’t hesitate any further as he pulls off an absolutely earth shaking, colossal superplex. Both CM Punk and Stone Cold writhe around the ground in agony but somehow, after what seems like an eternity, it is the Chicago native who gets to his feet first. With a hand resting on his lower back, Austin struggles to even get to his knees and the official rushes towards him and urges him to consider his options. His eyes bulging, Stone Cold seems disgusted at the thought of quitting and instead shoves the referee away before charging at his rival.

However, Punk takes full advantage with the official’s back turned and clobbers Austin between the legs. Stone Cold doubles over in pain and Punk quickly hoists him up on his shoulders, spins him around and crunches his nose once again with a devastating GTS. His face gleeful, Punk holds an elbow in his adversary’s face and hooks a leg...

3!!! PUNK IS VICTORIOUS OVER STEVE AUSTIN!

Winner: CM Punk by pinfall (21:10)

While CM Punk staggers away from the ring as quickly as he can in order to gloat safely, his opponent furiously drags himself up into a sitting position and wipes blood from his nose. Stone Cold furiously stares up at his rival, his face a bloody mess, who does nothing but infuriate the Rattlesnake further by blowing a sarcastic kiss in his direction.

We open in the lockerroom with Sheamus unwrapping his wrist tape and pulling off his boots and knee pads following a recent house show as Randy Orton approaches the Celtic Warrior.

Randy Orton-Nice one out there Sheamus, just keep tearing the house down big guy.

Sheamus-Thanks there Randy, you do the same yourself fella. Keep kicking arse.

Sheamus in his thick Irish accent thanks the Viper and shakes his hand before going back to changing into street clothes, but something strange happens. As Sheamus stands, he feels lightheaded. The Irishman stumbles back into the wall, holding at his head. Strange music begins to slowly fade in before it becomes stronger and a deep, soothing voice begins to narrate.

you unlock this door with the key of imagination
beyond it is another demension
a demension of sound
a demension of sight
a demension of mind
you're moving into a land of both shadow and substance
of things and ideas
you just crossed over into
the twilight zone

We return and we see the screen has a vintage tone to it as Sheamus comes to and looks around. The lockerroom remains the same, however the surroundings are different. The year is now 1988 as Sheamus is greeted by Lord Alfred Hayes.

Lord Alfred-You must be the new guy. Suit up kid, you got Ulitmate Warrior tonight. Good luck tonight.

Sheamus is confused as he has no idea what is going on until a strange man grabs his shoulder and startles the Celtic Warrior

Mysterious Man-The zone got ya man. Good luck with that. The only way to reverse it is to change history. You need to end the Ultimate Warrior.

Alfred Hayes pops his head into the lockerroom and the strange man vanishes.

Lord Alfred-What’s your name again son?

Sheamus-I’m Sheamus, the Celtic Warrior.

Lord Alfred-The battle of the warriors, good tagline. Thanks kid. You’re up next.

Sheamus makes his way out to the ring to a mixed reaction as Howard Finkel announces him. The crowd, sure this man is an enhancement talent is mostly quiet. However they react nicely as Sheamus, despite his confused state sticks to his gimmick and throws his hands out and lets out a huge roar.

High fives and hugs to the kids are on the Warrior’s agenda before he takes back to the ring to his grounded opponent. Sheamus is dizzy and barely can stand as Warrior holds up his battle opponent. Warrior raises his hand and shakes the hand of his opponent. Sheamus falls to one knee as Warrior takes back to celebrating with his Warrior Nation.

Post match sees the referee check on the seriously injured Celtic Warrior. The screen begins to swirl as Sheamus begins to fade. Sheamus becomes near ghostly as the referee is confused. Sheamus combust as nothing but dust fills the air as the referee and audience are just in shock as Sheamus couldn’t complete his task of defeating the Ultimate Warrior.

In a battle of two warriors, only one can remain.
A battle of the strongest in which the true battle tested soul will prevail.
A land filled with mystique and aura, one man failed to complete his task.

A land known as….

Edgucution! The table collapses! Both are down! The ref is checking on the two. Edge had just as much taken out of him as Punk. The ref doesn’t know what to do!

The fans are now quietly watching!
