The 2010 WZ Film Awards

Cena's Little Helper

Mid-Card Championship Winner
So, a few days ago, Mighty NorCal suggested that I do some awards for the films of 2010. As you can no doubt guess, I loved the idea, but had to think of how I could restrain myself from overdoing it. With that said, we will be having WZ Awards for the films of 2010. There will be four categories: Best Film of the Year, Worst Film of the Year, Best Performance of the Year, and Worst Performance of the Year (each category will have a thread stickied in the Movies and Television section). The categories will each have 10 slots.

As to how the nominees will be chosen, I am offering voting privileges to the following 15 posters (NorCal and I are excluded from the list, although we have the option to turn in ballots as well; furthermore, as the creator and executor of these awards, respectively, NorCal and I will also have the option of submitting one choice for each category that will be automatic locks):

Uncle Sam
IrishCanadian25

Y 2 Jake
IndyJon22
Dagger Dias
Guy Compton
Coco The Monkey

If I have list you and you would like to participate in the nominations process, please post your nomination choices in this thread; for each category, rank 10 choices, putting your first choice at number one, your second choice at number two, etc. I will determine which films and performances make the cut by a simple Borda Count method (i.e., your first choice gets 10 points, your second choice gets 9 points, ..., your tenth choice gets 1 point).

On a final note, if you have not been listed but would like to participate in the nominations process, please either PM me or post in this thread; I can almost guarantee that not all of the posters I have chosen will choose to participate.

I've been largely unimpressed by 2009's films. I will, however, gladly participate. Also, my cat is guarding the mouse and won't let me near it. It could be several minutes before I get to post this.

I ashamedly never got to see A Serious Man. My friends just don't appreciate the work of the Coen Brothers and I refuse to go to a cinema alone.

Help me. The cat - she's both vicious and patient. This stand-off could last sometime yet.

Alright, she's gone. Time to post this. Bitch.

How Fucking dare you list Saw 6 as one of the Worst Films of 2009! You BASTARD!

I should Red Rep you for that. I knew there was a reason why I didn't like you.

Honestly, I did not want to put it on my list but I could not think of an other really bad movies that stuck out to me. I wasn't a fan but it did not deserve to get nominated by me either. List a bad movie that I agree with you on and I will change it.

Do you think it was a bad film? Why do you think it was a bad film? Are you not a fan of the series?

I'm still compiling my list, Tdigs.

I watched "Jennifer's Body" last night and I must say.. Megan Fox for worst Actress of the Year sounds about right, after seeing that performance.

Just watched "The Invention of Lying" as well. Nice comedic satire. Will be watching "Pandorum" and "Gamer" tomorrow after the NFL games.

The film was sub par. Good for horror but not as good as Saw 1 or 2, not that I expected it to be. The acting was atrocious, thus I nominated that terrible actress from the Scream Queen show.

I like the films fine as a whole but I also think they need to stop making them. But, I remembered another movie that I had no real enjoyment watching.

Only Saw III and IV are terrible. Especially Saw IV.

They completely up and change the entire cast, yet somehow try to ignore changing any of the story. Add on to that, the "good guy" and "bad guy" looked way too much alike and had me fucking puzzled as to who was who 30 minutes into the damn movie.

Saw V was okay, and I actually enjoyed Saw VI the most since Jigsaw's death.
