An intriguing story in a little known promotion.

One of the more surprising news stories is coming out of Booker T's promotion, Reality of Wrestling (ROW) based in Texas. There appears to be a budding feud between a jaded champion and the Hall of Famer boss. Rex Andrews has made it known for a while now that he only wants to fight "when the money is right" and if he can't do that he wants to face Booker T himself. He has it in his head that he is above all previous champions and will not be content until he fights the man in charge himself. This has been going on for a while, sources say, but Rex only recently won the ROW World Championship a month or two ago, now giving his voice a bit more authority.

The latest episode featured Booker taking exception to Rex's demands, so he threw him into a Fatal Four Way against Gino, Abel Andrew Jackson, and The Bear. Rex won cleanly by submitting Gino in an Armbar. This leaves the future between Booker T and his champion up in the air.

I do think this is an interesting reversal of the heel boss/face employee angle we've seen countless times. Whether they'll actually go through with it and Booker T steps into a ring that's not WWE remains to be seen, but everything seems to be pointing towards that direction.

If Booker T wants to fight in his own promotion, I doubt Vince or anybody else is going to stop him. Dude's in his 50s and doesn't even provide commentary on the reg anymore. And if he's going to put over one of his own, he'd be a bigger man than some notables from wrestling's past.

Or hell - if it just so happens Booker T wants to carry around the ROW Championship belt, that'll definitely get more eyes on his product. Though I highly doubt he'll do that with ROW appearing more of a safe training ground for students than an actual entertainment alternative.

Confirmed.

The WZ main page broke the news here first that "The five-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion will face Andrews for his Reality of Wrestling promotion, which will mark one of the first few times he has competed since February 2015...". Poorly phrased article aside, I'm glad to see some interest in these turn of events.

What? Not like major promotions are tearing it up at the moment.
