Maxine Quits WWE

Maxine, who's been seen mostly on WWE NXT and a few Raw appearances, including Monday's Battle Royal, has quit the company and is gone, according to WWE sources.

The word making the rounds is that she had been frustrated with a number of things, including not being offered a guaranteed deal and not having the chance to prove herself on TV beyond the WWE NXT level.

Maxine, real name Karlee Perez, signed a WWE developmental deal in 2009. After wrestling for Florida Championship Wrestling, she was brought up to NXT for the all Divas third season. She returned to NXT as part of the retribution season four and became involved in a triangle with Derek Bateman and Johnny Curtis.

I'm disappointed, Maxine was a real pleasure to watch on NXT. I loved her character and she was definitely among the better female wrestlers on the roster. She and Kaitlyn had great chemistry in promos last season of NXT. Sucks we won't be seeing anymore of that. I do think her complaints are fair, though I had hoped she at least enjoyed what she had been enjoying her work on NXT.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't care for female wrestling. Other than hoping for a wardrobe malfunction, I have no interest. As far as Maxine goes, I'd call her the best of the worst.

I think she's gorgeous, she's good in the ring, and isn't terrible on the mic. She could have been a great champion one day. I don't watch NXT regularly, but her and Kaitlin did seem to have good chemistry, as well as her and Regal.

It's a big loss to the Diva's division, but very minimal loss to the company.

What does quitting prove? Your never going to be a big star if you quit the company if things don't go your way. It's not everyday that you get to work
for a company like WWE and she just threw that golden opportunity away!
I say good riddance and don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.

It's sad... but very few women last a long time in the WWE... creative just does not care about them.

I miss the days when Trish and Lita were around... when the women could actually WRESTLE.

We still have Beth and Natalya, but they never wrestle each other. Hell, Natalya hardly ever even gets in the ring.

Before they left, the Bella Twins were getting TV time... and they were worthless, just like Kelly Kelly who is only eye-candy.

Maybe TNA will pick up Maxine. At least the women over there actually WRESTLE.

Prove? What's it supposed to prove? I guess it proves that she was fed up after 3 years and didn't want to work there anymore.

People quit companies every day. People leave wrestling companies all the time. WWE is not a golden opportunity for divas, and her quitting there will have absolutely no affect whatsoever on her ability to succeed in any other wrestling company she goes to. In fact, it'll probably help.

So you would quit the WWE if you were in it before you made a star of yourself? There a thousands of indy wrestlers that will never get the time
of day to be in WWE and she threw it all away. What ever she chooses from this point out I doubt she will make the money or be successful as if she was in WWE.

Three years, and her biggest moment was a Raw Divas battle royal. A battle Royal that did a good job getting AJ more over. I just now heard of this gal. If you can't tell, I don't watch NXT on WWE.com. If it isn't on TV. Not really a big deal in my opinion.

Well, why would she quit? I guess maybe because, her biggest moment was being part of the Raw Divas battle royal. 3 years in a company, and the furthest you get is NXT, and an 8 minute Battle Royal. Yea, I would leave too. Especially if you have talent, and can't display it.

Nothing sucks more, then being somewhere, and working your butt. Then never get anywhere. I'm sure we have all been there. I'm sure she made good money, and built her resume up. So, her opportunities aren't limited.

Overall, her starting a new venture is better idea, then squeezing a stone for water.

Oh crud, another Melina/Maryse/Mickie James/Gail Kim thing. A more than decent Diva has both been unable to show off her talents on tv and obviously hasn't been getting matches. This shows to me that she is a wrestler at heart and she quit because she's not being given the chance to do what she loves. Her storyline with Jonny Curtis and Derrik Bateman was kind of cheesey until Katilyn got involved but she really is a good preformer. She did get a match on Raw, but sadly for her it was one of those "going-to-check-on-the-Law and Order-episode-during-the-match" matches. Which is usually Divas anyway, but this one was more for the guys who actually enjoy seeing the eye candy. I feel Maxine's next step should be either Tna (as Mickie and Gail did) or another wrestling circut like MVP and Kaval have done. Or perhaps she'll go the way of Kelly Kelly and become a friggen model. Either way, Divas got got a little bit worse.

A Diva getting released or quitting are the next best things that can happen to a Diva's reputation with the IWC next to dying. All these people seem to comes out of no where and start praising like never before (I did it with the Bellas and Maryse). I don't remember Maxine too well, they never seemed to focus on her face for some reason when she was on NXT season 3. There was a Diva in the Battle Royal this Monday that I didn't recognize and I assumed it was her. Being a Diva is tough. Not much opportunity and once it comes it is unlikely to last long as the fans seem to get tired of Divas pretty fast. Oh well, I hope she finds what she's looking for in something else.

Who?

Look...this business is about paying your dues and getting over with the crowd. Was she over? Maybe creative didn't have anything for her. Maybe the officials thought she wasn't ready.

The diva's division is CRAP right now, there is only focus on maybe...6 diva's. How long did it take AJ to get to where she is?

There isn't a set way to the top. There are other avenues for her to pursue besides WWE anyways. She could fare well in the knockouts division in TNA. Or better yet, she could do a few porn flicks.

All it proves is she wasn't WWE material to begin with. Quitting isn't going to solve anything, it's not going to bring her stock up. In fact she has killed any creditability she had. She wont be able to work for another business as easily because they will be worried about the fact she quit on the big business so to speak and she never even got over in the first place. WWE wont want her again after quitting, imagine if they had invested in her. She was decent from what i watched (Not much at all) but as others said it's not going to hurt. The Divas division is just as dead as the Tag Team Division at the moment. I don't think she was going to change anything. No one will even notice that she is gone. All she did was hurt her own career.

I don't see anything bad in her quitting. Why all the bashing? She was unhappy and chose to leave. Does she not have that right? If I were miserable were I work and had other options, I'd quit too. It goes both ways. If you think, "it proves is she wasn't WWE material to begin with", you should also be thinking, "Maybe WWE wasn't good enough for her."

I fail to see how Maxine quitting is a blow to the Divas at all. You have to be at least somewhat relevant before you're leaving can really be seen as being a credible loss and Maxine wasn't.

From what I saw of Maxine, she had potential but there have been lots of Divas that have had potential pass through WWE over the past 10 years. Also, as GSB pointed out in a post on the first pace of the thread, why is it that people only seem to come out and heap praise on wrestlers, whether male or female, whenever they're either let go from WWE or quit the company? Where's all this support & fan fair when they're actually out there doing their thing? This is the first thread I can recall on Maxine since the wretched third season of NXT, there may have been some others but I'm willing to bet that there weren't very many at all.

As to Maxine being frustrated, it happens I'm sure. Wrestling is full of people who believe that they're ready for bigger & better things. Sometimes they are and sometimes they're not. It's hard to say with Maxine but, all in all, it probably wouldn't have really mattered if she was ready as the Divas as a whole are barely relevant. I'm sure that we'll hear some comments from Maxine on Twitter or somewhere else blasting WWE for not being "used right" and she'll become another statistic.

Is it a loss for the Divas? Not really. Losing Kelly Kelly would be a loss to the Divas because she's over with the fans and she actually matters.

I dont know if it was her attire or not. But she was HOT as hell.
WWE is still transitioning and I think once the three hour Raws had started, maybe the Divas would have more oppertunities again.

Silly Maxine, should have waited a little longer.

I'll be honest here, I had to Google her because I had simply forgotten about her. Couldn't even remember what she looked like, and I watched the last season of NXT quite often. Doesn't say much in her favour does it?

I congratulate Maxine for finally having the guts to leave. It's a well known fact the WWE gives TV time to the wrong divas, and even then, they only get 2 minutes in the ring...if they're lucky. She's got the talent? Fine! Go To TNA, ROH and showcase it. Would WWE care? Of course not. But more Divas....and underused male wrestlers need to take a stand.

While some will argue the 3 hour RAWs would change the landscape of the divas, I highly disagree. Even if their 2 minute matches becomes 3 minutes, they'll still be showcasing the eye candy divas over the ones who can put on a great match.

Her angle with Curtis was great, had a good laugh when they were handcuffed together. She was a bit sucky at character. but decent on camera, and very easy on the eyes. I just remember her being very awkward on commentary, and Regal had to keep questioning her to make sure she said something!!

No big loss to the E, and more than likely a smarter decision on her part too. The list of talented female wrestlers wasted by WWE goes up one more and they wont even notice!

that is strange maxine has been great in the ring since she started.
and she has been on raw past weeks even in the bikini battle royal.
last week. so i dont know if thats spam however it is impossible to not know who maxine is if you watch nxt.

Well there goes my "Melina and Maxine - The Perez Sisters" first ever WWE Women Tag Team Champions dream :banghead:
...
I never saw much of her because I didn't watch the NXT season with all the returns, but I only heard good things so of course she quit
