My assumption has always been that the design of the wrestling ring that has been used for decades was originally inspired by a boxing ring. Is this accurate?
Just curious, does anyone know if pro wrestling rings ever had four ropes like boxing rings do? I wonder if at one time if someone made the change to go from four ropes to three. Or, if pro wrestling has never had four ropes.
And how did they decide to go with three anyway?
Does anyone have any insight into the origin of the pro-wrestling ring?
Thanks!
