Hair vs. Hair - Edge vs. Kurt Angle, what if it was the other way around?

I put this in the spam section because I didn't think it fitted in any other place.

Just finished watching a Decade of Decadence (great dvd btw) and I was watching the Hair vs. Hair match, this man was the match that changed Kurt Angle's image from Olympic Hero to Wrestling Machine and literally was pushing Edge like heel with getting over Angle in a big way.

Now my question is, what if it was the other around? What if Edge had been shaved bald and Angle kept his hair? How do you think this would have gone for each of their careers?

For me, I think had Edge lost this match, his push would have stopped and he would have been buried in the mix, I think he might have had a great run as a bald psycho, hell, that could have been something to save Kane's unmasking, but unlikely. I think also, Angle would be still stuck in the same image and gimmick and would just become stale despite being a great athlete.

What do you think would have happened? Given this was a key moment in both of their careers?

With the long, luxurious hair that Edge had in 2002... I know that he would have been devastated to lose his hair. But, even if the decision was switched, I think that Edge would try to grow his hair back, and after 7 years, I'm sure it still wouldn't look the same. Also, Kurt Angle would have probably been bald now, since if you watch TNA, Angle is trying to grow his hair back, but you can see that it's only growing in the back and the sides.

This is coming from a guy with long hair.. in reference to another guy's amazing long hair..

When they showed the graphic of what each guy would possibly look like bald, Edge looked like a complete fucking bad ass! Just go back, during that time, ignore Angle's balding look (as-is) and consider that one sole graphic of Edge, balded. He looked fucking intimidating. He doesn't look nearly as intimidating, with long hair, as he seemingly would have without any.

As for what would've happened, anyone's guess is as good as mine.. but I'd be willing to guess his Rated R run may have came sooner. Well, if of course that gimmick wasn't riding solely on the assumption that it came from fucking Lita. Once again, Edge - bald = bad ass. So, he'd be scarier, and better suited to be in a heel role, quicker. Thus, he would've fell into what's worked best for him, quicker.
