FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN!
(continued)

*** BROKEN DREAMS ***

The second Semi Final is ready to go and out comes the Sinister Scotsman, Drew McIntyre. He walks to the ring with a saunter and Foley reminds us that he was fortunate to beat Kofi Kingston 2 weeks ago after a distraction from Kane disguised as Undertaker. However, Drew looks confident that he will defeat Christian tonight as he heads into the ring ...

*** JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES ***

Christian heads out towards the ring and Michael Cole reminds us of the career of Christian so far here in the WWE. Foley suggests that Christian is the man who wants to become champion more than anybody after seeing his former tag team partner Edge go on to win so many championships whilst he has yet to win the big one. Christian and Drew face off and it is time to see which man will reach the Final of the tournament! Which of these men will face Matt Hardy in next week’s final?

SEMI FINAL: CHRISTIAN vs. DREW McINTYRE

The bell rings and the two men circle the ring staring at each other ready to fight for the right to face Matt Hardy next week. The match begins evenly with Drew and Christian going for it and clearly determined to win the right to go for the World Championship at Survivor Series. However, it is Drew McIntyre who makes the break as he begins to take control with a Big Boot that sends Christian down clutching the side of his head. Drew lifts Christian up into a Fireman’s Carry hold on his shoulders before lifting Christian up over his head and down into a Gutbuster over the knee. McIntyre smirks and then goes for the cover on Christian ...

* 2 *
* Kick out from Christian! *

Christian’s ‘Peeps’ cheer loudly as their man kicks out but Drew McIntyre hits a hip toss that puts Christian back down. A snap suplex from McIntyre keeps him in control as he uses his usual slow, methodical pace to keep Christian down and keep control of the match. As Drew picks Christian up though, Christian tries to hit punches and staggers Drew back before getting back to his feet on a level with his opponent. Drew McIntyre regroups though and hits a double knee arm breaker to take Christian down again. As he gets up, Christian is whipped into the ropes by McIntyre before a tilt-a-whirl slam onto his knee to break Christian’s back. Christian winces in pain and Drew goes for a pinfall ...

* 2 *
* Kick out from Christian! *

Drew looks to set up for his finishing move, the Future Shock DDT, and it doesn’t look great here for Christian. However, Christian manages to hit a back body drop to buy himself some time. Christian then goes for a running forearm smash but Drew ducks and locks Christian in for a belly to back suplex which he hits to take him down again. Another pin from Drew McIntyre ...

* Christian kicks out again! *

Can Drew McIntyre dominate further and secure the win or will Christian fight back?

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

SMACKDOWN returns with Christian and Drew going to and fro as Christian gets back into the contest. A replay is shown that shows Christian surprising Drew when he dodges him in the corner and hits a kick through the ropes to Drew’s head. The replay then shows Christian hitting a Diving Plancha from the top rope to Drew after he stumbled out of the ring. Both men are now back in the ring and Christian gets the better of the contest for a while a hits a flapjack to McIntyre before going for his first cover of the match ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* McIntyre kicks out! *

Christian quickly climbs the ropes and looks to hit a diving crossbody from the top. However, Drew ducks and Christian crashes to the mat as Drew taps his forehead to show his wisdom to the crowd. As Foley and Cole berate Drew for wasting time, he is surprised when Christian rolls him up for a surprise pin ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Drew kicks out! *

Angrily, Drew rushes at Christian and swings for a clothesline but Christian ducks and counters with an inverted DDT that smashes Drew down onto his back. With Christian now on a roll, he climbs the ropes and goes for a diving headbutt that connects with Drew McIntyre’s shoulder before going for a pinfall ...

* 2 *
* McIntyre kicks out again *

Both men are giving it everything here as they seek to secure a place in the Final against Matt Hardy next week on SMACKDOWN. Both men grapple a little but Christian shoves Drew away and he drops over the rope. Christian leapfrogs the top rope and lands on the outside of the ring on his feet and swings a vicious uppercut at the Scottish tag team champion. Drew avoid the contact though and, as Christian rolls back in, he grabs Christian’s head and goes for the Future Shock DDT again. Christian escapes again and tries to counter into the Killswitch but Drew pushes Christian away into the ropes. As Christian heads back to Drew off the ropes, the Scot hits another Big Boot and takes Christian down. Cover from Drew McIntyre ...

* 2 *
* Kick out from Christian! *

As Christian gets to his feet groggy, McIntyre stalks behind him and jumps up and throws Christian down with a big neckbreaker. Drew signals that the match is over and again he sets up for the Future Shock DDT. This time, Christian looks beaten as Drew holds him in position ... However, as Drew looks to hit the move, Christian counters again and locks in the Killswitch ... Bam! Christian hits the big move and goes for the pin ...

* 3 *

WINNER: Christian (7:53)

Christian advances to the Final and will have the chance next week to earn himself a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series in just 9 days time. Drew McIntyre looks furious at his loss and screams in anger, kicking the ropes and bashing the mat with his fists. Cody Rhodes comes rushing to the ring past Christian and heads into the ring to calm Drew down which he starts to succeed in doing. Christian smirks as he makes his way out of the arena but as he leaves, the theme of the Number 1 contenders for the Tag Team Champions hits ...

*** LA VITTORIA E MIA ***

Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov – the men who beat the Nexus pair of David Otunga and Heath Slater on RAW – are out here as the Number 1 contenders for the Tag Team Titles of Drew and his partner, Cody Rhodes. Santino does all the talking as usual and informs the champions that they wish to cash in their shot at the titles at Survivor Series. Drew and Cody square up and it looks as if we have another Survivor Series title match set. Suddenly, Drew and Cody begin to beat down on the contenders but they fail and Santino and Kozlov get the upperhand. As Santino signals for the Cobra, Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler suddenly appear and they take out Santino and Kozlov from behind. A four on two beating begins but then Mark Henry and Evan Bourne appear to even up the numbers. With Bourne and Henry now on their side, Santino and Kozlov get back up and the foursome of Del Rio, Ziggler, Rhodes and McIntyre are forced out of the ring. Cue the entrance of Teddy Long who declares that next week on SMACKDOWN, we will have a Survivor Series warm up match when we have an eight man elimination Tag Team match between Del Rio, Ziggler, McIntyre and Rhodes against Santino, Kozlov, Evan Bourne and Mark Henry.

The camera heads backstage where Todd Grisham is ready to interview the Divas Champion, Layla. He asks her about her upcoming match with Michelle McCool at the PPV and Layla declares that she is the dominant force behind Laycool and that she is the one that will be victorious at Survivor Series. McCool interrupts and declares that Layla has been following her around for the past year and that Layla only won the title because of her in the first place. Michelle suggests that Layla will never be able to defeat her in fair circumstances and that after Survivor Series, Laycool will be no more and Layla’s Divas Championship reign will be no more. The two divas end up cat-fighting in the interview area, grabbing at each other’s hair and rolling around on the floor before several referees pull them apart with both looking ready for their Survivor Series encounter in 9 days time ...

WWE SURVIVOR SERIES

----- 1 WEEK -----

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

SMACKDOWN returns with Matt Hardy receiving handshakes and congratulations from other superstars as he heads for the locker room. As he enters the locker room, he comes face to face with his opponent in the final next week, Christian. Christian gets to his feet and they slowly shake hands. Christian tells Matt that it is good to see him back here on SMACKDOWN and that he is glad he decided to stay with the WWE. Matt thanks him and congratulates him on his victory over Drew McIntyre and says that he is looking forward to their match next week. Christian reminds Matt of their storied rivalry over the years and how they have both had to stand back and watch as their former partners and brothers moved on to the big one. Matt suggests that this is the time when one of them will win the big one – but then declares that it will be him that faces Kane at Survivor Series. Christian disagrees and informs Matt that however much he wants this shot, he wants it a little bit more. Both men stare into each other’s eyes and there is tension in the room. Suddenly, Matt Hardy is clattered from behind and we see that Kane is attacking him and Christian in the locker room. However, Matt and Christian work together to force Kane back into the wall and take him down as a pair. Christian allows Matt to hit the final move and he hits a Twist of Fate to the World Champion on the concrete floor. However, Christian then locks up Hardy and twists him up and drops Hardy down with the Killswitch as well. With Kane and Matt Hardy both laid out of the floor, Christian picks up the World Championship belt and lays it across Kane and Matt Hardy before leaving with a smile on his face ...

The cameras return to the ring where Tony Chimel announces the main event and the stipulations agreed earlier tonight. If CM Punk wins, he will be the captain of Team Smackdown. If Big Show wins, CM Punk will join Team Smackdown as the fourth member of the team.

*** THIS FIRE BURNS ***

Here comes the Straight Edge CM Punk rolling his hands together and checking his wrists before heading for the ring. He looks confident and picks up a Team SMACKDOWN t-shirt and places it over his body. Whatever the result, Punk will join the team but will he join as captain? He motions to the WWE Universe that he will become captain, that Big Show will go to sleep and he shouts out that he will then get the captain’s title shot promised to Big Show last week ...

*** CRANK IT UP ***

Big Show comes out also wearing a blue SMACKDOWN t-shirt and a huge smile as he waves to the crowd. He stops outside the ring and points to Punk, then to the SMACKDOWN logo on his shirt and smiles again. It is clear that Show is confident that he will win here but that CM Punk will then be a huge asset to the team at Survivor Series. Cole and Foley remind us of the team: Big Show, Chavo, Jack Swagger, the soon to be added CM Punk and one more man. They speculate on who that man may be but reveal that the GM has promised that the full Team SMACKDOWN will accept Edge’s invite and appear on RAW this Monday night.

BIG SHOW vs. CM PUNK
(Winner will be captain of Team SMACKDOWN at Survivor Series)

CM Punk talks trash to Big Show as they meet in the middle of the ring and is clearly telling him that he will be the SMACKDOWN team captain, not Big Show, after the main event tonight. The bell rings and the two lock up with Show swotting Punk aside with ease to the annoyance of the Straight Edge Superstar. Punk tries to respond with a Muay Thai combination of punches and kicks but again he is swotted aside and it has little effect on the SMACKDOWN captain – as it stands – as he continues to grin at Punk. Eventually, Big Show pulls back his big right hand in threat and Punk falls down and scarpers to the outside of the ring in fear. Show laughs and points to his knuckles and then to CM Punk which makes him scowl ...

The referee begins to count Punk out and he reluctantly re-enters the ring at 8. Punk tries to distract the referee before suddenly rushing over at Big Show looking to surprise him. Punk goes to hit a high knee but Show catches him by the head – his giant hand palming the top of Punk’s head like a basketball – before turning him into a reverse headlock and dropping a huge arm over his chest. Punk is down and writhing in pain and Show locks in a Cobra Clutch as Punk tries to get back up. Punk struggles to reach the ropes as he fights to his knees but he does and that forces the referee to order Big Show to break the hold. Show is unhappy and flings Punk across the ring out of the Cobra Clutch before going after him again. He kicks Punk while he is down and then climbs to the middle rope before hitting a corner splash to Punk that leaves him down and clutching his stomach in pain. Show goes for a cover ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Punk manages to escape! *

Show retains control though and he hits a Fall-away slam to Punk that sends Punk bouncing under the rope and out of the ring again. Show gets to his feet to loud cheers as we head into a commercial break ...

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

As SMACKDOWN returns, Show is in trouble as Punk has taken control. Replays are shown that Punk managed to catch Show with a high knee as he attempted to go out of the ring after Punk. Punk rushes into the corner with a second high knee and then delivers a bulldog from the middle rope that just about takes down Big Show. Punk goes for a quick cover ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Big Show powers out! *

As Show gets up, Punk hits the Shining Wizard knee/kick to the head of Show and it sends him spinning down to the mat. Punk senses an opportunity and goes out of the ring before slingshotting back over the top rope and into a somersault and Senton onto the chest of Big Show. He follows this with a Crooked Moonsault and then goes for another cover ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Again, Big Show kicks out with ease! *

Punk realises he needs something big and signals to the crowd that it is time for Big Show to ‘Go To Sleep’ ... many of the WWE Universe laugh at this idea of Punk lifting Big Show for the GTS! It doesn’t stop Punk trying but he cannot get Show off his feet and strains his back to the delight of the fans. However, Punk hits punches and kicks again that keep in him control before another big kick to the head takes Show down again. Quick as a flash, Punk drops down and locks in the Anaconda Vice instead and for the first time in the match, Big Show looks in trouble. The referee drops down beside Big Show and checks for a submission but Show tries to fight back and lifts himself to his feet with the submission move locked in. He lifts Punk as well and rams him back first into the turnbuckles forcing Punk to break the hold. However, it used a lot of Big Show’s energy and Punk hits two clotheslines to keep him struggling. A dropkick to the knee of Big Show is followed by a chop block that takes Show down again and CM Punk again goes for the Anaconda Vice in the centre of the ring. This time, Show is struggling more and CM Punk is in complete control as he wrenches the hold in tighter trying to force the tap out that would confirm him as the SMACKDOWN captain for the Survivor Series match ...

Big Show is trying to fight back but is really struggling and it’s beginning to look ominous. Show tries to roll Punk onto his shoulders and manages to ... shoulders down, pinfall ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* Punk gets up and keeps the Anaconda Vice locked in! *

Big Show is looking like he is in real trouble now. He manages one last fight back against the submission hold and tries to get to his feet but fails and makes it only to one knee. Punk senses that he has Show close to tapping out and wrenches with all his might when suddenly ... Bam! Big Show finds a way to break the hold ... A knockout punch to the side of CM Punk’s face! Big Show with the cover ...

* 1 *
* 2 *
* 3 *

WINNER: Big Show (8:32)

Big Show is showing the effects of a tough match but the referee raises his hand as he towers over CM Punk who is laid out on the ring apron after the knock-out blow. Big Show kneels beside Punk and tries to bring him round before shouting for a bottle of water. The water is tossed in and Show tips it over Punk’s face which helps Punk come around. Big Show helps him up and raises his hand and points to the SMACKDOWN logo whilst Punk props himself up on the turnbuckles looking confused and a little annoyed ...

Cole and Foley hype up next week’s RAW by announcing again that Team SMACKDOWN will be there to accept Edge’s invite next week before they hype next week’s SMACKDOWN as well by confirming the main event: Matt Hardy vs. Christian to determine the Number 1 contender for the World Championship at SMACKDOWN. As the cameras zoom in on a delighted Big Show leaving the ring, the show fades to black ...

Live Review

Like the way you started with the title match. Most people (myself included) open with a promo and it’s really refreshing to see someone trying something else.

Didn’t see the Edge attack coming, good way of getting him to prove himself after the tension on RAW. I’m assuming that’s going to be the explanation anyway. Kofi as one of the last members of Team Smackdown? Interested to see where you’re going from here with this.

Nice backstage segment, got the points across. Hope we see Vickie Guerrero in some kind of position of power at some point!

Nice match. Kinda surprised to see Rhodes get the win? Looking forward to seeing how, and if, Henry and Bourne’ll get their own back.

CM Punk v Big Show for captainship. Interesting to see where this goes. Would love to see Punk as leader, but I reckon a story with Punk as a reluctant member would be really interesting too. Hope that’s the way it goes, especially with the friction between them in the past.

Interesting to see how far this push goes with Hardy. You’re setting it up as if he could end up winning, which makes me think he might not. I kinda hope Christian wins it… see him as more of a legitimate threat than Hardy.

Glad Christian won this, interested to see who wins the final next week. Like the interaction between Rhodes and McIntyre post match too… making me hope for a feud between these two though… interested to see if that happens…

Not hundred percent keeping up with this thread, but just wondering about why Alberto Del Rio and Ziggler attacked these two? Hoping to see an explanation at some point, unless I’m just missing it…

Liking Kane’s attack and the tension between these two. Am I sensing a triple threat coming up? OR maybe even a heel turn? Interesting storyline going on here…

Interested to see how the dynamic works in the Smackdown v Raw match. A lot going on heading into that… think it’s actual the match I’m most looking forward to…

Great show, shows again why this is the best thread in the section. Really looking forward to seeing your next couple of weeks and the Pay-Per-View… Lot of pressure to keep it up now.

Hope to maybe get a review back if you get chance? :)

Cheers for the reviewing words, avitus25, much appreciated. Here's the next show: hope you enjoy. Will get over to review your next show, promise.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW!
Live from State College, Pennsylvania

*** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO ***

*** SEXY BOY ***

RAW starts with the General Manager of Monday Night RAW heading out to a fantastic ovation from the crowd here in State College, Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania crowd are hyped up just six days away from Survivor Series in Philadelphia and HBK drops to his knees on the ramp before heading into the ring. He takes a microphone and promises the crowd a great show as we head towards Survivor Series. He turns his attention to the traditional Survivor Series 10-man tag match between Team Orton and Nexus that will determine the WWE Champion – will it be Randy Orton or Wade Barrett? HBK announces that the man who walks into Survivor Series as the WWE Champion will be at an advantage in his opinion before announcing that the WWE Champion may not be Randy Orton ... the main event tonight will be Randy Orton against Wade Barrett for the WWE Championship! Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler are at ringside and they declare their shock that HBK would make this match just 6 days from Survivor Series!

HBK allows the crowd reaction to die down before announcing that tonight’s RAW will begin with a 10-man Battle Royal involving the ten participants in the traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team match between RAW and SMACKDOWN. HBK reminds us of the stipulation riding on this match – the winning brand will be able to choose any member of the other brand’s roster to join them. HBK announces that Teddy Long and he have decided that the champions should be excluded but any other superstar can be considered. He then introduces Team RAW as they head out to the ring ...

*** BURN IT TO THE GROUND ***

Edge leads out Team RAW who follow his lead with huge question marks over the unity of their team after recent events on RAW. Edge looks confident but there are looks in the eyes of his team mates – Ted DiBiase, Daniel Bryan, R-Truth and particularly John Morrison – that show doubt. As they enter the ring, each man shakes the hand of the RAW General Manager before HBK heads out of the ring and backstage. Edge takes the microphone and announces that the five men have discussed their problems and are now united on one goal – delivering a win for Team RAW and securing a SMACKDOWN superstar for the RAW roster.

*** DO YOU KNOW THE ENEMY? ***

Team SMACKDOWN captain Big Show leads out his team with a jolly look on his face wearing a massive blue shirt with the SMACKDOWN logo on it. He claps the WWE Universe as he heads to the ring with Jack Swagger and Chavo Guerrero in close attendance. However, a reluctant CM Punk, beaten by Big Show last Friday on SMACKDOWN, follows a few steps behind after being forced onto the team after the defeat. There is no sign of the fifth SMACKDOWN participant who was promised tonight ... Big Show takes a microphone and addresses the issue as he points out that Edge knew who the fifth member of SMACKDOWN would be. He reminds us all of Edge’s appearance on SMACKDOWN last week after the World Championship match and then introduces the fifth member of Team SMACKDOWN ...

*** S. O. S. ***

Kofi Kingston appears on stage wearing a SMACKDOWN t-shirt and with a determined glint in his eye after his failure to capture the World Championship from Kane last time out. He heads to the ring with the usual pyrotechnics as King and JR discuss the problems that Kofi will cause Team RAW and how this could well make SMACKDOWN the clear favourites for Survivor Series!

BATTLE ROYAL: EDGE, JOHN MORRISON, DANIEL BRYAN, R-TRUTH & TED DIBIASE vs. BIG SHOW, CHAVO GUERRERO, JACK SWAGGER, CM PUNK & KOFI KINGSTON

The match begins with the ten superstars pairing off into RAW and SMACKDOWN to fight around the ring. Big Show is looking dominant as he throws Ted DiBiase around early on but doesn’t look in a hurry to eliminate the Million Dollar Champion. Show then turns his attentions to the RAW captain, Edge, as he traps him in the corner of the ring and hits his chest with his frying pan hand. Luckily for Edge, he is wearing a red RAW t-shirt but that won’t prevent the pain that he is feeling ... Show looks to force Edge over the top rope and Edge wraps his leg in the ropes in desperation. John Morrison comes to the aid of his captain despite their problems recently and denies the Big Show the first elimination. Edge and Morrison team up and fight the Big Show who struggles against the ropes as the two RAW men pound him with fists and feet. They begin to try and lift him over the top rope and manage to force his head and upper body over. Show looks in trouble but has enough to hang on and refuses to let Edge and Morrison lift his lower body over. The two RAW men struggle and struggle but Show remains stubborn until a third man assists them ... CM PUNK! The SMACKDOWN star is unhappy still and he provides the last push that sends Big Show over the top rope and down to the outside of the ring ...

* BIG SHOW is eliminated! *

Big Show gets to his feet outside the ring and looks full of rage as he stares up at CM Punk. Punk looks back at Show and points to the SMACKDOWN logo on his chest informing him that he should be the captain of the team and he will lead SMACKDOWN to glory tonight and at Survivor Series. Show makes to get back in the ring but the referees hold him back and Punk continues to goad the Big Show. Behind Punk, R-Truth appears all of a sudden and he hits Punk in the back of the head before toppling him up and over the rope and a second SMACKDOWN superstar is eliminated!

* CM PUNK is eliminated! *

With RAW now 5 vs. 3 in their favour, they look to take advantage as they go to work on the three remaining SMACKDOWN superstars, Kofi Kingston, Chavo Guerrero and Jack Swagger. With SMACKDOWN now showing signs of disarray, it is RAW that looks united and they work together to make the numbers advantage work in their favour with Edge even directing traffic and his team following his instructions. SMACKDOWN desperately needs to find a way to even up the numbers and it is the man who has been challenging for the World Championship that manages it. Fighting with Ted DiBiase and Daniel Bryan in the corner, Jack Swagger heads over and smashes Bryan in the back to leave DiBiase and Kofi fighting. Kofi takes DiBiase down before hitting the Trouble in Paradise kick to the Million Dollar Champion and then tossing him out of the ring ...

* TED DiBIASE is eliminated! *

... and he is immediately followed by Daniel Bryan who, after his attack a moment before Ted’s elimination, is unable to recover and hit with the Pump Handle Slam by Swagger before he too is thrown over the top rope by the All American American.

* DANIEL BRYAN is eliminated! *

Bryan looks disappointed but he makes his way out of the ringside area with the US Championship over his shoulder to leave Edge, Morrison and Truth up against Kofi, Swagger and Chavo. Both teams are working hard to secure a morale boosting victory and again they split into pairs to feud in the corners. Chavo manages to take down R-Truth and leaves him flat on his back and in perfect position for the Frog Splash. Chavo heads for the top rope with chants of ‘Eddie!’ ringing in his ears and leaps high to deliver a perfect Frog Splash to R-Truth. Chavo gets up and wriggles his hips and shoulders to the cheers of the crowd but then ... SPEAR! Edge hits a devastating spear to Chavo – a man he was once related to – before lifting him up and dumping him over the top rope.

* CHAVO GUERRERO is eliminated! *

The boos ring out at Edge’s elimination of Chavo but Edge looks delighted that RAW has the advantage again. Edge heads over to assist Morrison again who is brawling with Kofi Kingston but Swagger now has an Ankle Lock on R-Truth who has just received the Frog Splash just moments ago. Truth taps out but that means nothing in a Battle Royal and Swagger persists with the hold. Truth wriggles towards the ropes but again Swagger pulls on the ankle more and more. Eventually, Swagger lets go of the Ankle Lock and pulls back to allow Truth to get up groggily near the ropes. Truth has no chance here and Swagger hits a Big Boot to his head that sends him over the top rope and out of the match ...

* R-TRUTH is eliminated! *

... Edge rushes over and hits a spear to Swagger that catches him by surprise though. Swagger gets to his feet slowly and then Morrison springboards off the rope and hits a Flying Kick that leaves Swagger draped over the top rope. Morrison rushes over and lifts him up and over and yet again, RAW has the advantage!

* JACK SWAGGER is eliminated! *

Morrison holds an arm up in celebration at eliminating Jack Swagger but this is dragged down by the RAW captain Edge who looks upset with his team mate. Morrison holds his arms out and doesn’t understand what Edge is annoyed about but it becomes clear that Edge wanted to eliminate Swagger after hitting the spear. He points out that he is the captain and Morrison should have stayed with Kofi in the other corner. Speaking of Kofi, he is back on his feet and he rushes over and takes both men down with well placed kicks and then hits the Boom drop to John Morrison. Morrison fights back and Kofi is unable to eliminate him until suddenly, Edge loses his mind completely and hits Morrison with a spear! Edge looks shocked as he looks down on a fallen John Morrison but then drags him up with his hair and throws him over the top rope. What is Edge thinking here?

* JOHN MORRISON is eliminated! *

Edge looks down on Morrison and reminds us all that he is the RAW team captain and that Morrison should know his place. Morrison gets to his feet and looks furious as he tries to go after Edge. However, the referees hold Morrison back and usher him away. Morrison rips his RAW t-shirt off and throws it down in disgust at Edge’s actions. Kofi Kingston is watching in amusement as RAW disintegrates before his eyes and then he turns his attention towards Edge. He takes Edge down with hard kicks before hitting a diving crossbody from the top rope that leaves Edge down in a heap. No pinfalls but the WWE Universe here in Pennsylvania love it and they cheer and chant for Kofi as he looks to his Trouble in Paradise again. Clapping his hands as he waits for Edge to get up, Kofi looks in control but he misses with the kick when he goes for it before Edge follows with a huge boot to Kofi’s head. Edge looks possessed and he retreats to the corner ready to hit the spear once more ... Some of the crowd chant ‘Spear!’ as Edge builds up for it ... SPEAR! Edge hits it and looks delighted with himself. He drags Kofi to his feet and forces him up and over the ropes and it is Edge that has survived tonight to secure the win for RAW!

* KOFI KINGSTON is eliminated! *

WINNER: Edge (9:23)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner ... TEAM RAW!

Edge celebrates as if he won a WWE or a World Championship for the tenth time as his music blares out around the arena. Kofi walks away disappointed but the Battle Royal truly showed that both teams have issues but both teams have a lot of talent as well ...

----- COMING SOON -----

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

RAW returns with Ted DiBiase, Daniel Bryan and R-Truth muttering to each other in the locker room. In walks the team captain, Edge, looking delighted with the win and expecting adulation from his team. However, the pair of Bryan and Truth look at him with disdain before walking out of the locker room, clearly unhappy with their captain. Edge asks DiBiase what he did wrong and DiBiase informs Edge that they believe that he is selfish and only out for himself. He also informs Edge that Morrison stormed off to find the General Manager immediately after being eliminated from the match. Edge looks amazed with the reaction but then a steward from the arena walks into the locker room as well to deliver a message. He asks Edge to visit the General Manager in his office ... RAW returns to the ring ready for the next contest of the night.

*** WRITTEN IN MY FACE ***

Sheamus.jpg

Sheamus and Hornswoggle head for the ring with Survivor Series just six days. JR and King remind us of the way Triple H won the right to choose the type of match for Survivor Series and show replays of Sheamus’ defeat to John Morrison last week when he was caught by surprise when the time was almost up ... Sheamus shakes his head after looking up at the titantron before waiting for the arrival of his opponent ...

*** LAND OF FIVE RIVERS ***

The Great Khali heads for the ring with his brother Runjin Singh ahead of their match here on RAW. Khali looks his usual imposing self but retains the limp that shows the lack of agility that Sheamus could exploit here tonight ...

GREAT KHALI vs. SHEAMUS

In a short match, Sheamus manages to take control of the match early and uses his speed to take down Khali several times. However, Khali is able to knock down Sheamus at regular intervals with game changing swings of his right hand and Sheamus struggles to find a way to defeat him. After a silly attempt to lift Khali up into the Irish Curse, Sheamus realises how he can win the match when he sees Khali down on his knees – Brogue Kick to the kneeling Khali. Sheamus hooks the leg and the referee counts the 3!

WINNER: Sheamus (2:17)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner ... SHEAMUS!

After the match, Sheamus grabs a microphone and addresses the WWE Universe. He claims that John Morrison got lucky last week and that he was pre-occupied with the time remaining and that is the reason Morrison managed to upset him like that. Sheamus and Hornswoggle are receiving loud jeers and boos but Sheamus continues on and claims that it doesn’t matter what type of match Triple H decides to go with as he has beaten him once at No Mercy and will beat him again at Survivor Series regardless of the match type. Sheamus declares that he is not afraid of Triple H and that Hunter should be fearing for his career when he steps into the ring with the Celtic Warrior this Sunday ...

Triple H heads out with the spotlight shining on him and goes through his usual routine of heading for the ring bathed in green flashing lights and with a bottle of water. As Triple H sprays the water over the front row, Hornswoggle gets brave and rushes over and kicks him in the knee. Triple H turns and stares at him over the rope before getting into the ring looking annoyed with the little troll. Predictably, Hornswoggle rushes out of the ring on the opposite side and leaves Sheamus to face the Cerebral Assassin instead. With no violence allowed between the two, Sheamus grins at the Game before heading out of the ring after Hornswoggle. As they get to the stage, Triple H asks them to hold it for a moment ...

Sheamus’ face turns into an anxious one as the WWE Universe realises where Triple H is going with this one! At Survivor Series, Triple H and Sheamus will wrestle in a straight fall, a Table match and finally inside a steel cage to determine the winner and then Triple H reminds Sheamus that he has participated in this match with three of the toughest men around: Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton. He declares that Sheamus doesn’t have the guts to beat him in a match like this and that at Survivor Series, it will be ‘Game Over!’ for Sheamus ...

JohnCena.jpg

The WWE Universe go wild for the arrival of the man who Randy Orton hopes he can trust to help him defend – or win maybe, after tonight – the WWE Championship. Cena rushes down to the ring and takes a microphone to address the WWE Universe.

Cena makes a promise to the WWE Universe that he will do everything in his power to help Randy Orton defeat the Nexus this Sunday at Survivor Series. The crowd chant ‘Cena!’ before he continues about how desperate he is to destroy the Nexus and ensure that they never get their hands on the WWE Championship. Cena talks about the nightmare last six months he has had due to the actions of the Nexus and promises that he will destroy Wade Barrett and punish him for every beating he has ever ordered his men to perform. As Cena considers his next comment though ...

RandyOrton.jpg

Out comes the WWE Champion, Randy Orton, with the title draped over his shoulders. He walks towards the ring slowly with his eyes on Cena and seemingly weighing him up in his mind. Orton gets into the ring and acknowledges the cheers of the fans before returning to Cena with a microphone in his hand too. Orton says to Cena that he has one question only. Can I trust you? Cena assures Randy Orton that he can be trusted, that he will do everything in his power to ensure that Randy Orton remains WWE Champion. Orton nods his head and seems to take this as a sign that he can trust Cena. Orton turns to leave but Cena asks him to wait a moment ... Orton pauses and turns to Cena who tells him that he will do everything in his power to help Orton at Survivor Series but he hopes that Orton will remember that after Survivor Series. When Orton looks quizzically towards Cena, Cena takes a step to Orton and pats his hand on the WWE Championship over his shoulder. Cena declares that he expects to help Orton retain the title this Sunday but that he then expects that he will get a shot at taking that title away in the near future. Orton looks to Cena and thinks about it for a moment and is about to reply when ...

*** AWESOME – I CAME TO PLAY ***

TheMiz.jpg

Accompanied by his rookie, Alex Riley, and the ‘Money in the Bank’ contract briefcase, out comes the Miz who looks towards Orton and Cena in the ring with a cocky expression on his face. The pair wander down to the ring and enter to jeers and boos but Cena and Orton both stand back to see what the Miz has to say. Miz takes a microphone and declares that it doesn’t matter whether Orton retains, Barrett wins the title or Cena wins it the next night on RAW, the only guaranteed champion is the man with the MITB contract – the Miz. Miz declares that he is the man who will be the WWE Champion very soon but he has other matters to attend to first. Miz asks Orton if the Hart Dynasty are confirmed as being part of Team Orton this Sunday to which Orton nods his head. Miz then counts sarcastically before pointing out that they are still a man short. Miz says that is why he is here – to volunteer his services. He goes on to suggest that he wants to be right on cue just in case there is an opportunity but also points out to Orton that he will not be able to find anybody better ...

Cena whispers something to Orton and Orton smiles a knowing smile. He looks at Miz and suggests that he would be a good man to have on Team Orton – but only if he can prove himself first. Miz arrogantly laughs and tells Orton to bring that man out and he will beat him for sure. Orton smirks and nods his head in agreement ...

EzekielJackson.jpg

Ezekiel Jackson heads out towards the ring and it looks as if Miz and Jackson will face each other for the right to be the fifth man on Team Orton ahead of Survivor Series. Miz strips his t-shirt away and throws it down in disgust at Orton’s actions but looks determined to secure a place on Team Orton. Orton and Cena leave the ringside area and head back up the ramp as the bell rings to begin the match ...

EZEKIEL JACKSON vs. THE MIZ

Miz takes control of the match after a fast start from Ezekiel Jackson and keeps the match down to a slow, methodical pace as he locks in holds on Jackson that keep him grounded and off his feet. With Riley shouting encouragement and Miz determined to earn his place on Team Orton, Jackson looks to be in trouble as the Miz seems to have all the answers every time Jackson looks to escape or fight back. A mini-fightback from Jackson comes with two shoulder knockdowns in succession but a distraction of the referee by Alex Riley allows Miz to poke his opponent in the eye and then carry on taking him down to the mat. Miz begins to look for his finishing move, the Skull Crushing Finale, but Jackson fights out of it on two occasions and Miz begins to struggle to keep him down on the mat. Jackson is now turning the tide and is taking Miz down who escapes out of the ring to avoid the raging bull that his opponent is becoming. A standing side slam almost defeats Miz and he is now looking to hit the Book of Ezekiel as he seeks to secure his place on Team Orton. With Miz looking to be in trouble, Riley distracts the referee whilst sliding the briefcase into the ring as well. Miz manages to escape Jackson and get hold of the briefcase which he then swings into the face of Jackson to knock him cold behind the referee’s back. Pushing the briefcase out of the ring, Miz goes for a cover on Jackson but somehow he manages to kick out at 2! An astonished Miz beckons for the briefcase again and this time he makes no attempt to even hide it and crashes it into Jackson’s skull again. The referee immediately signals for the disqualification although Miz doesn’t seem to be too bothered ...

WINNER: Ezekiel Jackson (5:38 - DQ)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here is your winner as a result of a disqualification ... EZEKIEL JACKSON!

Miz and Riley leave the ring and head back up the stage with a look of arrogance on their faces. Miz points to the briefcase as he backs away and declares to the fans at ringside that he is the only guaranteed WWE Champion around here and that he doesn’t need to be part of Team RAW ...

MONDAY NIGHT RAW!
(continued)

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

*** NEW FOUNDATION ***

RAW returns with two members of Team Orton already in the ring ... the Hart Dynasty, David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd. A replay of the tag team heading to the ring as their fellow Team Orton member Ezekiel Jackson was helped out of the ring whilst rubbing his head after the assault from Miz earlier on. JR and King discuss the upcoming Survivor Series match where one of Randy Orton and Wade Barrett will leave as the WWE Champion and King suggests that the Harts will need to be on top of their game and better not let the pressure get to them.

*** WE ARE ONE ***

The Nexus pair of Justin Gabriel and Skip Sheffield head for the ring with Otunga and Slater also in attendance – just the leader Wade Barrett is missing as he prepares for his WWE Championship match later tonight. JR and King hype the main event up and discuss how important it could be to head into Survivor Series as the champion rather than as the challenger. Gabriel looks to be over his little spat with the Nexus last week and all four men are on the same page as they prepare for this match. However, the referee order Heath Slater and David Otunga to leave the ring and go back to the backstage area. Begrudgingly, they do so but it is a small victory for the Hart Dynasty before the bell has even rung ...

HART DYNASTY vs. JUSTIN GABRIEL & SKIP SHEFFIELD (NEXUS)

The Hart Dynasty come out of the blocks fast and they use fast paced tags to get themselves in control of the match early. However, one huge clothesline from Skip Sheffield hands the advantage to the Nexus pair just like that to the disapproval of the WWE Universe. Skip drags Tyson Kidd over to the Nexus corner of the ring and he is punished in the corner whilst the referee is distracted by Gabriel. Nexus contain the small Tyson Kidd in their corner and work him over to the dismay of his partner, David Hart Smith. However, Kidd manages to fight back eventually and makes the tag to Hart Smith who comes in like a house on fire hitting clothesline after clothesline. With Gabriel and Sheffield down, Hart Smith lifts Gabriel up for a suplex and crashes him down on the mat. The South African looks beaten as Hart Smith makes the cover. Amazingly though, Gabriel kicks out and shows a huge amount of heart and resilience. Kidd and Smith cannot believe it but they look to hit the old Hart Foundation move, the Hart Attack instead. Smith lifts Gabriel up after tagging in Kidd and waits for his partner to clothesline him off his shoulders. Kidd comes off the ropes but Skip Sheffield appears from nowhere and hits his own devastating clothesline that crumples Kidd in a heap. Hart Smith and Sheffield, the two big men in the match, fight out of the ring leaving a battered Justin Gabriel and a wounded Tyson Kidd. Gabriel slides over and locks in a Figure Four Leg Lock – as he introduced to us last week against Cena – and the referee checks with Kidd as Gabriel looks to get the submission. Eventually, Kidd has no choice and taps out to give the Nexus tag team a valuable win as they prepare for the Survivor Series battle in six days time.

WINNER: Justin Gabriel & Skip Sheffield (6:03 - Submission)

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Here are your winners ... SKIP SHEFFIELD & JUSTIN GABRIEL!

The camera switches backstage where Randy Orton was watching the conclusion of the match between two of Team Orton (Hart Dynasty) and two members of the Nexus. He looks disappointed with the loss and JR points out that if Tyson Kidd taps out to Justin Gabriel at Survivor Series, Randy Orton’s title hopes will end. Josh Mathews enters the locker room and goes to interview Orton and asks him if he is confident in his four team mates heading into Survivor Series. Orton says that he trusts Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith to do everything in their power to help him retain the WWE Championship, he goes on to say that Ezekiel Jackson has all the ability to go and make a huge impact here in the WWE but when asked directly about Cena, Orton pauses. He says that he knows that Cena wants to destroy Nexus but that isn’t what Sunday is about. He declares that he hopes Cena can remain professional on Sunday and focus on winning the match, not taking revenge. That can wait. Josh asks Orton about whether he will be accepting Cena’s request for a title shot after Survivor Series and Orton smirks before walking off to get ready for his WWE Championship match tonight ...

RAW returns with HBK’s music playing again and the General Manager stood on the stage with a microphone. HBK reminds everybody about tonight’s main event – a WWE Championship match between Randy Orton and Wade Barrett. HBK reminds us that this will not affect Sunday’s match and that if Barrett wins tonight, Team Orton will be looking to win the title back for Randy Orton on Sunday instead of helping him defend it. HBK goes on to discuss the slight issues that still exist between Orton and Cena and he says he has the perfect solution of how to show Orton whether or not he can trust Cena. He says he will now introduce the special referee for tonight’s main event ...

Out comes Cena for a second time, this time in a black and white striped referee shirt and he salutes the crowd before heading to the ring. *** WE ARE ONE ***

WadeBarrett.jpg

Barrett saunters to the ring looking confident of victory – without his Nexus team – and smirks as he enters the ring and looks at Cena. John Cena and Wade Barrett go head to head as the tension between the pair builds up but they are then interrupted by the WWE Champion himself ...

RandyOrton.jpg

Orton re-enters the arena with the WWE Championship still over his shoulder as he looks to hold onto it ahead of the match on Sunday in Philadelphia at the Survivor Series. He enters the ring and looks straight into the eyes of Wade Barrett and then John Cena who smiles and points to the referee badge again to show Orton he can be trusted in this match. Justin Roberts introduces the challenger and then the champion and the match can begin ...

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP: RANDY ORTON vs. WADE BARRETT (Special Ref: John Cena)

Early on in the match, Orton goes for a quick RKO that nearly surprises his challenger before Barrett manages to hit a big boot to Orton in counter. John Cena counts the first pinfall fair and square for Barrett but he is then caught by Orton coming off the ropes and is hit with a snap powerslam that leads to a pinfall for Orton. Again, Cena is 100% fair but Barrett manages to kick out. The match goes back and forth with both men looking to take the WWE Championship into the Survivor Series match as well as the momentum. However, Barrett is the first man to hit a finish move as he drops Randy Orton down to the mat with Wastelands and looks to have won the title. Cena counts fair again and gets the 3-count before realising that Orton’s foot was on the ropes. He signals that the match is not over to the annoyance of Wade Barrett who gets right into Cena’s face over the issue. Cena refuses to back down and eventually snaps and launches a punch at Barrett that staggers him. As he wheels round, Randy Orton leaps up and gets a hard hitting RKO to the challenger that leaves him down on the mat. Cena goes to count the pinfall but Nexus now pour out of the backstage area and jump into the ring to attack Orton and Cena and the match ends as a disqualification of Wade Barrett ...

WINNER: Randy Orton (8:23 - DQ)

Nexus are beating down on Orton and Cena who are again victims of the numbers game here. Barrett is back up and directing traffic as he looks to gain a massive advantage by destroying the high profile pair ahead of their match at Survivor Series. Barrett begins to order finishing moves as he orders Skip Sheffield to hit his clothesline to Cena and orders Gabriel to hit his 450 splash to Orton. However, Cena ducks and Orton rolls out of the way just as they are also joined by Hart Dynasty and Ezekiel Jackson who come flying down the ramp to join their team mates for Survivor Series. As Jackson and the Dynasty hit the ring, Nexus retreat out of the ring and start backing away up the ramp as ‘Voices’ plays through the arena again to celebrate Orton’s defence of the title. With Barrett mouthing off at Orton from the ramp, it seems that the match on Sunday cannot come soon enough ...

Cena rolls out of the ring as the Nexus leave and he picks up the WWE Championship of Randy Orton and heads back into the ring. He hands the title to Orton before raising his arm as the victor by disqualification. With all of Team Orton in the ring with their hands in the air, it seems that we are seeing a prediction of how things will end at Survivor Series as RAW goes off the air ...

#1Peep's RAW Review

Here we go Butty, just two shows till Survivor Series. Dunno about having a title match six days before a title match, Orton and Barrett never did have very good chemistry so putting them in the tag team match for the title was a good idea. Makes sense to put Kofi in the match, gets a big star of yours onto the card and he has issues with Edge. Punk is not a happy boy, serious tension between both teams now. Edge picks up the win for his team, with some cool spots at the end between Edge and Kofi. Team RAW wants a new captain? Sheamus easily taking down Khali and cuts a fine little promo about his chances at Survivor Series. Great stipulation, allow some mat wrestling as well as hardcore fighting that these two excel in together. Some tension between Orton and Cena, maybe he will drop Fruity Pebbles with an RKO after he wins? Big Zeke Jackson, a perfect choice to round out the team. A DQ win keeps Miz looking strong and gets Jackson onto the team.

I love the Harts, and Gabriel and Sheffield are my two favourite Nexus members, should be a doozy. I dunno about Gabriel using a submission move, but we will see where it goes. Orton wins by DQ so he goes into the PPV as the champion. Nice show GCB, not as exciting as last week but still bloody great. You are one of the few guys in this section that understands story telling, build up and Psychology. Survivor Series should be a great show.

If I'm honest, I wasn't happy with this show. I'm ready to write the PPV now so it's a little rushed (and in recap form). Not my best show at all. Anyway, thanks for the review and your thoughts. Orton and Barrett's match was to show unity between Cena and Orton ahead of Survivor Series. I ummed and erred about putting the title on the line for ages but decided to go with it in the end. Really wanted to get Kofi onto Team Smackdown after his recent build as his shot at Kane has now gone. Kofi still has a big future to come in this BT (but will it be before or after WrestleMania?!) and I need to keep him looking huge and doing well. I'm glad that you like the 3 Stages of Hell match I've gone with - I wanted to get the chance to go with some wrestling as well as the brutality of the Cyber Sunday Ambulance Match. I'm a bit unsure of what to do with Miz right now - as MITB holder, he has a big future in my BT down the line but keeping him in view is becoming difficult. However, Zeke has previous history with supporting Cena and Orton so he was the natural choice to join Team Orton.

As for Gabriel and the submission move, I wanted to put a stamp on a few of the wrestlers and give them new moves where possible. Gabriel using the Figure 4 Leg Lock is part of that - for me, he is too well known for one move and writing matches for him is difficult when it's all building to the 450 splash. The submission move gives him a different aspect. I'm sure that you are aware that something is going to happen soon with Gabriel (the teasers are there) so I wanted to change his moveset a little. Thanks for the kind words.

ALBERTO DEL RIO, CODY RHODES, DOLPH ZIGGLER & DREW McINTYRE vs. EVAN BOURNE, MARK HENRY, SANTINO MARELLA & VLADIMIR KOZLOV

With elimination of the whole of the opposition team needed for a victory, the action is fast and furious from the outset as Ziggler and Evan Bourne lock up. Ziggler gets the upper hand and he starts to beat down on the lightweight superstar, Bourne, before popping him off into the ropes. As Bourne hits the ropes, Vladimir Kozlov manages to get the tag but Ziggler misses this and locks in the sleeper hold on Bourne with his back to the opponents. However, his team-mates urge him to turn round ... he does and Kozlov rips him away from Bourne before hitting the headbutts to Ziggler’s chest. Kozlov viciously slams Ziggler to the mat before heading for the corner and climbing the buckles. This is new from Kozlov as he climbs to the top rope clumsily. The big Russian, with a little steadying hand from Santino, dives from the top and connects with a diving headbutt to Ziggler’s shoulder ...

Dolph Ziggler has been eliminated!

Alberto Del Rio heads into the ring and hits Kozlov while his back is turned. An enzuguri kick to the back of Kozlov’s head in the corner forces the Russian to look for a tag and in comes Santino for the first time in the match. Del Rio holds his hands up at Santino and points to Evan Bourne instead mouthing that he ‘wants him’ instead ... Bourne takes the challenge and he tags into the match. It was Evan Bourne who cost Alberto Del Rio a place in the World Championship Semi Finals two weeks ago and Del Rio clearly wants revenge. He starts to pound away at Bourne with right hands that forces him to the ropes. Del Rio steps back and rushes at Bourne but the quickfire star drops the ropes and Del Rio goes over and crashes down to the mat. Bourne leaps over and springboards from the bottom rope into a moonsault that takes Del Rio down at the bottom of the aisle. Bourne milks the reaction of the crowd before rearing back ready to hit a running knee to Del Rio. However, Del Rio recovers and ducks before pushing Del Rio into the barricade. He grabs Bourne and the pair head up the aisle trading punches again. Del Rio gets the better of it and locks in the Cross Arm Breaker at the top of the ramp but then notices that the referee is counting ...

Evan Bourne and Alberto Del Rio have been counted out!

Del Rio looks furious as he is ushered out of the ring after trying to get back in time. The referee orders him to leave but he refuses until Mark Henry steps into the ring and grabs him by the head before running him up and over the top rope and out of the ring. Del Rio and Bourne begin to fight again and this time their fight takes them out of the arena as the match continues in the ring. Henry beckons for one of Cody Rhodes or Drew McIntyre to get into the ring but neither seem too thrilled at the prospect. In the end, Drew slinks into the ring and circles Henry before the pair lock up. Drew is quickly knocked down onto his backside in his corner where he tags in a hesitant Cody Rhodes instead. Rhodes receives the same treatment from the World’s Strongest Man to the delight of the crowd and Henry acknowledges this by playing to the crowd. Drew and Rhodes attack Henry together though and beat him down before Kozlov and Santino can save him. The referee tries to stop Santino and Kozlov allowing the two on one attack to continue behind his back. Santino begins to back out of the ring but Kozlov cannot control his anger. He pushes the referee in the chest in determination to save Henry and attacks Cody and Drew with a flurry of hard hitting suplexes and kicks before the referee again tries to usher him away ... Confusion reigns as Kozlov is pointed at by the referee and ordered to leave ...

TONY CHIMEL: Vladimir Kozlov has been disqualified by the referee and is therefore eliminated!

The crowd boo the decision but it is final – Kozlov has been disqualified for pushing down the referee. Santino has his head in his hands and Drew and Cody laugh as we head into a commercial break ...

He is about to tag in the Italian when Drew kicks Henry in the back of the head and leaves him face down on the mat. Drew talks trash to Santino about being a champion before dragging Henry up to his knees and looking to set up the Future Shock DDT. Drew continues to talk rubbish to Santino whilst he positions himself and Henry ... Future Shock DDT connects! Drew makes the cover ... but the referee refuses to count! Santino rushes at Drew and does the splits to avoid a clothesline before taking Drew down with a Fireman’s Carry. A diving headbutt with a salute follows before Santino signals for the Cobra! The crowd go wild as he prepares to hit Drew ... suddenly, Cody Rhodes is on the top rope and dives at Santino to hit an axe-handle but Santino hits the Cobra to Cody Rhodes instead! WINNER: Mark Henry (9:32)

TONY CHIMEL: Here is your winner ... MARK HENRY!

Henry celebrates with a big, beaming smile as he acknowledges the WWE Universe at ringside before looking to head back. However, he is caught by surprise by a punch from Drew McIntyre and staggers back into the ring where Cody Rhodes is waiting with a steel chair. He smashes it over Henry’s back twice to leave the World’s Strongest Man down. Drew slides back into the ring and drags him up for another Future Shock DDT before Rhodes disrespectfully kicks Henry in the face as the Tag Team Champions stand tall. They may have lost the match but they are the Tag Champions ...

A microphone is passed into the ring and the Tag Team Champions take it to deliver a message to everyone. Drew tells everyone that they defeated their challengers fairly and squarely and it was only mark Henry that denied them the win. Drew dismisses Henry as a freak of nature before passing on to Cody Rhodes who warns Henry to stay out of their business ... for good!

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

SMACKDOWN returns with Team RAW, led by captain Edge, entering the arena backstage wearing red RAW t-shirts. John Morrison, R-Truth, Ted DiBiase and Daniel Bryan are following and the RAW team walk down a corridor where they are greeted by the SMACKDOWN captain Big Show and the General Manager, Teddy Long. Edge informs Long and Big Show that Team RAW are here tonight to prove that they are united ... Edge pauses here and looks to each member of Team RAW individually before continuing ... and that they are here to get the advantage over SMACKDOWN ahead of their Survivor Series match this Sunday! Show laughs at this before Long informs Edge that they will be involved in three matches tonight against members of Team SMACKDOWN. He turns to John Morrison and R-Truth and sends them to get ready as they will be in the next match of the evening against CM Punk and Chavo Guerrero!

The camera returns to the ring where Layla is stood in the ring with the Divas Championship proudly around her waist. She tells the WWE Universe that it is sad that she and Michelle McCool had to end their Laycool partnership but that it had to end after Michelle decided to face her at Cyber Sunday. Layla proceeds to tell everybody that she won the title and that she will be the one to defend it this Sunday and continue wearing it ...

*** NOT ENOUGH FOR ME ***

Out comes Michelle McCool looking annoyed with Layla’s comments. Michelle gets into the ring and takes a microphone to respond. She tells Layla that she was the driving force behind Laycool and that she deserves to be the Divas Champion and that at Survivor Series she will be. She accuses Layla of getting lucky when she won the title and then when she defended it at Cyber Sunday but promises that she won’t get lucky this time. The pair continue to fire threats at each other but then end up reminiscing about the good times – their assaults on Mickie ‘Piggy’ James, the way that they sent Beth Phoenix packing, their hilarious ‘Smelly Kelly’ jokes. Layla says that they might have been flawless in the past but she is the flawless one now and that she will win. Michelle responds by challenging Layla to a ‘Loser Leaves Smackdown’ match – the loser will go to RAW and will not get another shot at the Divas Championship ... Layla accepts and the match for Sunday is set ...

SSLaycoolmatch.jpg

... but Michelle has the last word as she kicks out and doubles Layla over. Layla drops the championship as Michelle locks in the Faith Breaker as she drops Layla down onto her face on the mat. With Layla down, Michelle picks up the title and stands over Layla before placing the title down over her waist with a sneaky smile on her face ...

*** THIS FIRE BURNS ***

Out come CM Punk and Chavo Guerrero, two members of the SMACKDOWN team set to battle Team RAW this Sunday. Cole and Foley hype up the Survivor Series match and the prize awaiting the winning brand – any superstar from the losing team’s roster! They speculate about who they would take from RAW – Foley chooses John Cena, Michael Cole says that despite their problems at Cyber Sunday, he would still love to see the Miz back on his show!

*** THIS AIN’T NO MAKE BELIEVE ***

Their opponents, the good friends of John Morrison and R-Truth, head out to the ring ready to face the SMACKDOWN pair. Despite the lack of unity on RAW recently, Truth and Morrison can be counted on to be united and they look ready to start the RAW ball rolling tonight ...

CM PUNK & CHAVO GUERRERO vs. JOHN MORRISON & R-TRUTH

Morrison and Truth dominate the early stages as they work as a cohesive tag team to take down and counter every attack from their SMACKDOWN opponents. At times, Punk and Chavo look the team that are struggling as Morrison and Punk work in tandem with quick tags to isolate Chavo and dominate. Morrison hits a drop kick and a chuck kick to send Chavo down on his back that looks to set up Starship Pain but he tags in R-Truth who looks to get some offence in as well. A spinning shoulder block sends Chavo down and Truth rushes over and knocks Punk down ... he looks to hit the scissors kick that would defeat Chavo but misses and Chavo manages to get some attacks of his own in as he hits the Three Amigos. Chavo climbs the ropes to cheers – despite teaming with Punk tonight – and flies through the air looking for the Frog Splash ... he misses and Truth makes the tag to Morrison. Morrison rushes over to the corner and, with Chavo down, looks to hit Starship Pain but again the finisher is missed as Chavo is alert enough to escape. Chavo makes the tag to Punk who enters the ring and goes up against Morrison in the middle of the ring. Punk manages to take down Morrison with a neckbreaker and signals that it is time for Morrison to ‘Go To Sleep’ now. However, Morrison manages to counter and hits a kick to the back of Punk’s head that stops him in his tracks.

Suddenly, Edge appears on the ramp as he attempts to cheer Morrison and Truth on. Edge is clearly trying to make up for his recent problems with the pair and shouts words of encouragement to Morrison as he gets to his feet. Morrison spots Edge and looks over confused instead of going for the tag which allows Punk to score with a kick to Morrison and he sets up the ‘Go To Sleep’ now. Edge yells in despair as Punk connects and makes the cover ...

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

*** GET ON YOUR KNEES ***

It is time for the second match of the evening involving Team RAW and Team SMACKDOWN as Smackdown’s Jack Swagger heads for the ring to jeers and boos. He drops down and completes three press-up’s before jumping up to an explosion of pyro and heading into the ring ready for action ...

*** RIDE OF THE VALKYRIES ***

The United States Champion Daniel Bryan heads for the ring to face Swagger and Foley hypes up the match as very interesting and suggests it will come down to the LeBell Lock and the Ankle Lock here. Bryan acknowledges the fans and it is time to get started ...

DANIEL BRYAN vs. JACK SWAGGER

In an excellent contest full of counter holds and mat wrestling, both men look to get a boost ahead of the Survivor Series match. The bigger Swagger dominates several periods of the match but Bryan – despite the accusations of being a goof from Cole on commentary – manages to fight back each time and shows great heart to avoid the Ankle Lock. Swagger keeps looking to soften up Bryan’s lower leg and manages to get Bryan limping when he hits a chop block to an unsuspecting Bryan following a counter out of Bryan’s attempted LeBell Lock. A few stamps later, Swagger perches Bryan’s leg on the ropes and drops a hard elbow down on it. He repeats this several times before signalling that it is time for the Ankle Lock to end the match ... However, Bryan is too quick and manages to wriggle free before taking down Swagger face first as he rushes over again. Bryan now looks for the LeBell Lock and manages to get in position and clasp his fingers together ... Bryan pulls back and tries to force Swagger to tap out ...

Swagger writhes in pain and tries to stretch out an reach the rope but he is inches away and Bryan is pulling him back with greater force every second. Swagger intelligently pulls his knees up underneath him and uses his strength to push Bryan over a little despite Bryan valiantly holding on to the LeBell Lock. Swagger manages to roll the hold over and get Bryan’s shoulders down on the mat for the pinfall ...

WINNER: Jack Swagger (5:29)

TONY CHIMEL: Here is your winner ... JACK SWAGGER!

SMACKDOWN is on a roll and is now 2-0 up on the night with just one match remaining! Swagger celebrates in the ring whilst Bryan walks out limping – it was a good job he tapped when he did and avoided injury ahead of Sunday. Again, Edge appears and he begins to berate Daniel Bryan on the ramp – Edge is clearly unhappy with the performance of Daniel Bryan tonight. Bryan looks at Edge and shakes his head before walking past him and leaving Edge to stare after him in disgust – so much for a ‘united’ Team RAW here tonight ...

The cameras switch backstage and focus on Christian who is stood with Todd Grisham in the interview area. Grisham welcomes Christian for the interview and asks Christian about his thoughts on Kane’s interference earlier and the main event match tonight. Christian says that he is not interested in why Kane interfered earlier tonight, all he is focused on is defeating Matt Hardy and giving himself a chance of achieving his dream in two days time at Survivor Series. Grisham asks if Kane will have the advantage after being sent home earlier whereas Christian faces a physical and tough contest just to earn his shot. Christian informs Grisham that he has been waiting for this opportunity for nearly seventeen years and that he will not waste his chance when it comes. First Matt Hardy, then Kane and then the World Heavyweight Championship!

*** I COME FROM MONEY ***

Out comes Ted DiBiase with the Million Dollar Championship over his red t-shirted shoulder and his ‘girlfriend’ Maryse by his side as he comes out for the final preview match between Team RAW and Team SMACKDOWN ahead of Sunday’s match at Survivor Series. As DiBiase heads for the ring, the RAW captain Edge chases after him and delivers a pep talk on stage. For the first time tonight, we see a member of Team RAW that actually seems to respect the captain’s comments as DiBiase nods in agreement before heading into the ring. He hands over the Million Dollar Belt before awaiting his opponent ...

*** S.O.S. ***

A fired up Kofi Kingston comes out to an explosion of pyro and a great ovation from the WWE Universe wearing a blue SMACKDOWN t-shirt. The crowd cheer him to the ring as replays of his narrow defeat to World Champion Kane are shown followed by the attack from Edge after the match. Kofi salutes the crowd with his ‘Boom! Boom! Boom!’ action before turning his attention towards DiBiase looking ready to get back to winning ways here tonight.

KOFI KINGSTON vs. TED DiBIASE

A fast start from Kofi gets the crowd right behind him as he looks to make short work of the cocky youngster from RAW. With Kingston close to hitting the ‘Trouble in Paradise’ or the SOS several times, DiBiase is working hard to try and hold Kofi back until he hits a sneaky attack in the corner as the referee tries to break the pair up. DiBiase looks to drive home the advantage as he methodically works at Kingston with a standing dropkick and a scoop powerslam before stomping the Ghanaian in the corner. Kofi is fighting hard and has to kick out of some pinfalls before he is hit with a front powerslam and has to roll out of the ring to get some space. DiBiase follows and stops him before dragging him back and locking in the fearsome submission move ... the Million Dollar Dream! Kofi desperately fights and stays on his feet but DiBiase will not let him move towards the ropes and Kofi drops to a knee. Kofi manages to escape as he runs – with DiBiase hanging off him – to the corner and ducks sending DiBiase shoulder first into the buckle. Kofi staggers away to the opposite corner as DiBiase gets up ... DiBiase rushes over to Kofi but is hit with a pendulum kick in the corner and the tide turns back to Kofi. The excitable Kofi jumps up onto the top rope and hits a flying clothesline that take DiBiase down to the mat before hitting the ‘Boom Drop’ to leave DiBiase in big trouble. Kofi steps back waiting to hit Trouble in Paradise when suddenly Edge comes flying out towards the ring again.

As Edge slides into the ring, Kofi notices him and avoids the spear as Edge looks to hit it. Edge rebounds from the buckle and Kofi hits ‘Trouble in Paradise’ to the RAW team captain to send him through the ropes and back out of the ring. The camera follows Edge and we see Big Show rushing out towards the RAW captain now. Edge sees him for a split second before a thunderous knock out punch comes his way – Edge is out for the count!

Back in the ring, Kofi turns back to DiBiase but is hit with a spinebuster from his opponent. Kofi manages to escape the pin but DiBiase is now looking to end the match with DreamStreet. Kofi manages to fight out and avoid it before swinging his foot again and hitting ‘Trouble in Paradise’ again ... Kofi with the cover ...

WINNER: Kofi Kingston (8:39)

TONY CHIMEL: Here is your winner ... KOFI KINGSTON!

Big Show enters the ring to celebrate with Kingston as DiBiase skulks away with Maryse eying the dominant SMACKDOWN pair in the ring. Big Show raises Kofi’s hand and the advantage looks to be all with SMACKDOWN heading into their huge Survivor Series match! How can RAW recover from their humiliation tonight to beat SMACKDOWN on Sunday?!

********** COMMERCIAL BREAK **********

SMACKDOWN returns with replays of the winning falls in the three RAW vs. SMACKDOWN matches tonight ... CM Punk and Chavo Guerrero’s win over John Morrison and R-Truth is first, then the win for Jack Swagger over Daniel Bryan with the Ankle Lock and finally, Kofi Kingston over Ted DiBiase ... Footage of Big Show’s huge right hand to Edge is also shown before we see Edge backstage wandering around without his RAW team-mates and heading for the exit. The cameras switch to the office of SMACKDOWN General Manager, Teddy Long, who is stood with the jubilant Big Show and Kofi Kingston. Long congratulates them on a good night’s work and says they are on a roll heading for Survivor Series. Long points out that he has one worry – which RAW superstar will he choose to bring to SMACKDOWN?! Big Show suggests that he could take John Cena, the Face of the WWE! Kofi suggests that he would like to see John Morrison heading for the blue brand. Long then suggests that the loser of the WWE Championship match could head for SMACKDOWN – he could take Randy Orton or Wade Barrett and maybe split up Nexus? Long also reminds Big Show that as his captain, he will be getting a shot at the World Championship when he leads SMACKDOWN to victory!

The camera switches to Todd Grisham again who is now stood with Matt Hardy, the second finalist in the World Championship Number 1 contender tournament. Grisham asks Hardy if Christian deserves to have a World Title shot because of the sacrifices he has made. Hardy responds in the positive and says Christian is without a doubt one of the greatest superstars in WWE history to not hold the WWE or the World Title. However, he goes on, he will not get that chance tonight or at Survivor Series. Hardy points out that Christian made a fatal error last week when he hit the Killswitch on him after they had taken out Kane. He made it personal. Hardy suggests that he has been in WWE as long as Christian and that it is time that he reached up and grabbed the brass ring. Time that he won the big one. With that, Hardy leaves and heads for the ring ...

*** JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES ***

For the second time tonight, here comes Christian to try and secure his place in the World Championship match this Sunday at Survivor Series. With his shirt on with the slogan ‘By the Peeps, For the Peeps’, Christian surveys the arena looking for the peeps in the crowd. He heads for the ring and prepares himself for the arrival of his opponent and maybe the biggest match of his career to date ...

*** LIVE FOR THE MOMENT ***

Here comes Matt Hardy who looks fired up and ready to go now as he heads for the ring saluting the crowd in traditional Hardy pose! He rushes into the ring wearing sparkling trousers and rips his Matt Hardy t-shirt off and throws it into the crowd. Both men looked pumped up and we will finally get to know which man will challenge Kane for the World Championship this Sunday ...

CHRISTIAN vs. MATT HARDY

The match starts out slow as both men try to feel each other out to gain a small advantage – both men know each other so well already of course. The SMACKDOWN crowd is split with a chant of ‘Let’s go, Christian!’ met with an equally loud response of ‘Let’s go, Hardy!’ and both men show each other respect by holding back and trying to get the advantage in grapple holds. Finally, Christian makes a breakthrough as he manages to trip Hardy as he comes towards him and Hardy lands on the middle ropes. Christian slides under the bottom rope and hits a huge uppercut that staggers Hardy back into the ring and Captain Charisma has the advantage in the match. Christian heads back into the ring and sends Hardy into the ropes before catching him in a flapjack on his return that takes Hardy face down into the mat. With Hardy dazed, Christian heads for the top rope and waits before launching into a missile drop kick that catches Hardy perfect ... First pinfall of the match ...

* 2 *
* Kick out from Matt Hardy! *

With Hardy down near the ropes, Christian hits a second drop kick, this time to Hardy’s back that sends him under the rope and to the outside of the ring. Christian again climbs the turnbuckles and dives out of the ring into a plancha that takes Hardy down to the floor with a thud. Christian takes a second, thinking carefully, before grabbing Hardy and dragging him up. He eyes the steel ring steps for a moment – unsure whether to resort to it – before attempting to send Matt into the steps. However, Hardy instinctively counters and Christian hits the steps shoulder first with a crash. Hardy has his first big move of the night and he looks to take control as he drives Christian into the ring with his shoulder before rolling his opponent into the ring again. In a massive match like this, both men have to pull out all the stops if they want to have a shot at the World Title on Sunday night. Hardy rolls in and hooks the leg for a pin ...

The first flicker of frustration appears on Hardy’s visage as he heads for the corner again and climbs to the middle ropes again. He settles and then strikes the Hardy pose with a loud ‘Ohhhhhh!’ for the crowd before he jumps towards Christian for a leg drop. However, Christian moves and Hardy lands painfully on the mat giving Christian a chance to go for a pinfall of his own ...

Christian gets up quicker and hits a forearm smash after a quick springboard off the ropes that catches Hardy out. Christian follows this up with another springboard off the middle rope into a shoulder block that takes down Hardy. * Hardy gets the shoulder up just in time! *

The match is now starting to get really warmed up and the SMACKDOWN crowd are thoroughly enjoying it, cheering both men, nobody sure how it is going to turn out here. Christian has the advantage and begins to prepare for his big finisher, the Killswitch. Clapping his hands so the crowd can clap along, Christian stalks Hardy as he gets up slowly. He grabs Hardy and looks to get the finisher in but Hardy counters with a roll up down his back ...

* 2 *
* Christian just escapes! *

Close call there, Christian almost caught out by Hardy. Both men get to their feet and hit the ropes before going for a clothesline – both men hit each other and the two men are down and out in the centre of the ring. The toll of the match is now showing as both men struggle to get up as the referee counts them both out ...

* Christian just manages to kick out at the last moment! *

Christian looks in real trouble here as Hardy looks to end the contest and secure a match with Kane on Sunday. Hardy is setting himself up now, looking to end the match with his finishing move ... Hardy waits, stalking, looking for his chance to hit the Twist of Fate. Matt sees a chance and goes for it but Christian counters the move. Christian goes for the Killswitch off the counter but he fails as well as Hardy counters, neckbreaker from Hardy to Christian. Both men are desperate to win this match. Hardy shakes his head and drags Christian to his knees and sets him up as if he is going for Triple H’s Pedigree move. However, Hardy wraps his legs round Christian instead and locks in the Scar, a submission move. Christian’s arms and head are tied up and his legs are helpless here and he has got a fight on if he is going to escape. Hardy desperately tries to increase the pressure on his opponent’s head and arms as the referee waits for Christian to tap out ...

However, Christian manages to roll them over onto Hardy’s back and then over again so that the pair roll into the ropes where the referee has to break the hold. Christian looks the worse the wear and struggles to get back up whilst Hardy gets to his feet with a look of frustration now showing on his face. He lifts Christian up onto his back for the Splash Mountain Powerbomb ... this would end the match, surely? Christian wriggles down from Hardy’s back though and locks the arms up to set up ... KILLSWITCH! Christian hits the Killswitch! Christian is going to Survivor Series! Hooks the leg ...

* 2 *
* Hardy kicks out! *

Christian looks amazed and his Peeps in the crowd have their heads in their hands at ringside. However, there are many cheers around the arena as well as the Hardy fans celebrate Hardy kicking out of Christian’s finishing move. A chant of ‘Hardy! Hardy!’ echoes around the arena and Christian determinedly grabs Matt to try and hit another Killswitch. Hardy is looking dizzy as Christian sets up, surely he can’t survive a second Killswitch? Christian goes for it but suddenly, Hardy manages to escape again ... TWIST OF FATE! Matt Hardy has hit the Twist of Fate as he counters Christian, it’s over, it’s over!

* Amazingly, Christian kicks out! *

As it is the turn of Hardy’s fans to look on in disbelief, Christian’s fans celebrate with a loud ‘Christian! Christian!’ chant now. Hardy collapses to the ring apron in shock and Christian desperately tries to recover as he turns over onto his stomach. Both men are down, who is going to win this match? Suddenly, though, a large red explosion echoes around the arena ...

*** MAN ON FIRE ***

Michael Cole and Mick Foley exclaim in shock and question why Kane is here again after Teddy Long sent him home earlier tonight? Kane runs down the ramp to ringside, flinging the World Title down in the ring as he steps over the top rope. Hardy gets to his feet first and tries to run at Kane but he is met with a huge right hand that sends him back down. The bell rings – the match is over ...

WINNER: NO CONTEST (13:32)

Kane grabs Hardy by the throat and hits a devastating choke slam before turning his attention towards Christian. He is also lifted high by the throat and slammed down beside Hardy. Kane picks up the World Heavyweight Championship with a maniacal look on his face, stands over the fallen pair of Matt Hardy and Christian, lifts the World Championship high and then signals for the red explosion in the corner of the ring. His music sounds out around the arena again as Kane looks pleased with himself ...

*** MACMILITANT ***

Kane’s music is interrupted by that of the SMACKDOWN General Manager, Teddy Long. Long walks down the ramp with a microphone in his hand looking extremely annoyed with Kane, his World Champion. He gets into the ring and glares at Kane who just smirks and exits the ring instead. Long checks on both Matt Hardy and then Christian before addressing Kane who is heading out of the arena ...

TEDDY LONG: Hold it right there, playa ...

Kane stops and turns round to face Long from the ramp as Christian and Hardy both get to their feet slowly ... Kane smirks again as Long goes on ...

TEDDY LONG: Over the past four weeks here on SMACKDOWN, we have been having a competition to determine the man to face you at Survivor Series. We got this far, two great WWE superstars ready to earn the right to face you – but twice tonight, you have got involved and denied them their opportunity.

Kane laughs again ... Long looks peeved and carries on with a determined look on his face to put Kane in his place ...

TEDDY LONG: What you need to remember, playa, is that even though you are the World Champion, I make all the decisions around here. Tonight, you have disrespected me. But you will defend that title this Sunday at Survivor Series ... in a Triple Threat match. You see, Kane, now it will be you defending against ... Matt Hardy ... and Christian ...

Hardy and Christian glance at each other with a smile as the crowd cheer the news ...

TEDDY LONG: ... in a Ladder Match! Holla!

Kane looks at Teddy Long with a furious look in his eyes. He knows that his World Title is now in serious jeopardy – he faces two men who both know what it takes to win a Ladder match! As SMACKDOWN concludes, we see Hardy and Christian in the ring and the pair shake hands to Kane’s dismay ... Survivor Series is coming very soon!

Da Prophet Review

Well here we go with the final stop before the big Survivor Series which I’m looking forward to very much. It’s going to be a good one.

Kicking off Smackdown with a bang here and it is the finals of the World Championship tournament, well we are not going to smooth into things are we now? Very solid so far- oh wait Kane is here and we have a no contest. But we get it later tonight so it is all good. I really liked what you did their having the match take place to start and then have it to end. Nice more as it hypes the match for later on.

Huge tag team match which was written well and served a purpose in making the people look good, speaking on the tag champions. I liked the little promo done by Drew after it, basically telling every team that the champions aren’t going down without a fight. Match was very well written and enjoyable, nice job.

Team RAW being involved in matches tonight, I like it. Basic stuff nothing to comment on to be honest. Once again you hit the nail on the head, even in recap form.

Diva alert oh wait it is Layla and Michelle. Loser leaves Smackdown match, this is gotta go to Michelle I think. Having the teacher beat the student, or you could be getting rid of Michelle because of her actual retirement. Tricky one you are, but I’ll stick to going with Michelle to win and become the champion of all the women. Oh Survivor Series two weeks away? Was that a typo or do we still have two weeks to go? Either a mistake on my or one on your part. Damn hope it isn’t two weeks later than I thought. Heart breaking to say the least.

Basic tag match with CM Punk looking strong and I think you need to do something with him after this Smackdown vs RAW thing. He hasn’t been doing much other than facing Big Show over the captain thing for Smackdown. Lots of talent which could be used with Punk and I hope you find something for him to do. Good match which was written well and gives Punk a well needed victory.

Back from the break we get another match with Jack Swagger winning against my boy Bryan. Not a huge Swagger fan but he isn’t the worst to be jobbing two. Maybe give Bryan a run in the mid card against someone like Christian or even Hardy. Liked the match but this 2-0 thing made the winner easy to pick which isn’t always a bad thing when doing television. Hell I did it the other week with Shawn Michaels. Good match still.

Christian says he is going to win, I can’t stand another Christian title run in the BT section. Please be different to all the other people. Stay with me and don’t do what the others are doing. No more Christian vs Edge. Save me Jesus!

Ted is here and he lost to Kofi, best move you could make. Kofi is a big player in this thread and to lose against Ted would hurt the amazing push you have been giving him. The Kofi character has been great, but maybe change his music. Giving him something more than a happy go lucky tune which he has. Good win for Kofi while Ted goes somewhere other than my screen for the moment.

Main Event time and a major match on the cards here. The match itself was great and I really enjoyed it until the ending. Triple threat match and a ladder match should be good, however it leans into the favour of Christian. This is a perfect time to give him a title run, while I can’t stand how everyone goes that way I still read. I’m sure you could make it work if you go that way. Then you could go with Kane and continue his dominate run on Smackdown which has been very good. I’m loving Kane at the moment and he is probably my favourite character in the thread. I don’t see you giving the strap to Hardy as he never was anything special and needs to be built up. If you gave him some time to work with than maybe but not now. This match can only go two ways Kane or Christian. I’ll probably shake my head if it is Christian but it make sense. Looking forward to the show man.

Bottom line is that this was a great show. Easy to read and very enjoyable with the matches being solid as always. Even in recap you still got the feeling of a full show. Nice work once again.

Nice one Proph, you really don't like Christian as a champion do you?

Whilst I may (or may not) give Christian a run at the title, I can promise you that there will not ever be a Christian vs. Edge match in the near future from me. Both men's route to WrestleMania is penned and they will not cross paths. I hate how most BT's go that way. As for Hardy, I have given him a push, don't rule him out.

2 weeks to Survivor Series - typo that I can't edit. D'oh!

I have started writing Survivor Series tonight, been at it a couple of hours and am just about through the first match. This could be a long one!

It's not that I don't like him as champion it is the fact that everyone has him win the Royal Rumble and then he faces Edge. I don't see what is so great about that match for some many people to go that way. On the forum alone we have two threads going in the same time frame and they both had Christian win the Rumble. I don't get that. I try to stay away from Edge vs Chrisitian as it does get over used. Chrisitian as champion good, Chrisitian vs Edge I'll shake my head. I have faith GCB.

I'm expecting something huge for this show GCB, since mine was amazing :rolleyes: . Should be a good one and I'm looking forward to seeing the ladder match, pulling for Kane to win this won. I'l be waiting on my review for Smackdown.

#1Peep's Smackdown Review

The last show on the road to Survivor Series; one of my favourite pay per views of all time. Hardy vs. Christian, you know who I will be rooting for in this one. I expect a certain Big Red Machine to interfere in this one after last weeks happenings. RAW vs. Smackdown matches, oh yeah! This was an obvious but a good choice to start the show, didn't allow them to get much offence in as they will face off again later on tonight. Good idea to put a traditional SS match on the card, hypes up the PPV and the tag team title match. Kozlov with a diving headbutt! Maybe after the PPV Ziggles will get something going. Smart move getting the two feuding stars Bourne and Del Rio counted out, saves face for both of them. Vladdys anger costs him a place in the match; another smart move. Although they lost Drew and Cody show their dark sides as they take out Henry with a chair and a DDT, cool little promo as well.

Uhhh Divas, but you made it interesting. One goes to RAW, could go either way here GCB. Edge came out to offer words of encouragement but instead cost Rock and Rap the match. Would like to see Punk as a top player in your BT after Survivor Series. Smackdown wins the first encounter tonight to go 1-0. Bourne and Del Rio for the title should be a very good match but I don't expect the feud to go for much longer as Bourne can't hold a promo together. Bryan vs. Jack would be an incredible match so I expect the same in this BT. Woah, Bryan taps out. Smackdown goes 2-0 and Edge isn't happy, united RAW my ass. Effective promo from Captain Charisma. Edge once again costing his team member their match. Well written, fast paced match that really made Kofi look like a beast. Team Smackdown seem confident, a little to confident. I'm really torn on who is going to win this match but I will explain why later. AWESOME match as both men had the win in the palm of their hands before the other just kicked out. Kane interferes again? Looks like it will be a triple threat on Sunday...yeah and in a ladder match! Shite, this would be perfect for Hardy or Christian.

Once again, another great show GCB. On one hand, it seems to obvious that Smackdown will win after all the momentum they have been gaining but if RAW wins they steal a superstar from a pretty weak roster. Smackdown needs a big star. By the way, after reading what you and Proph have written, the only reason that I am doing an Edge vs. Christian feud is because the timing was perfect. Christian didn't win the rumble, didn't win the title and the feud doesn't involve the title. I also hate Edge as a face, both on the microphone and in the ring, in the latter stage of his career a heel mentality works so much better for him in the ring. It's personal as you will see on the promos on the next Smackdown.

Great show GCB. As always it was well written and a blast to read. I'm not gonna do a live review as there really isn't much to critique. I'll just throw in some feedback on certain things.

-I really enjoyed Kane tonight. Some may think it may look as if Kane is weak and doesn't want to face either of the two. I think it makes Kane look like he doesn't care who he faces or how he ends of facing. Kane is a man with a bad attitude and doesn't give a fuck. I like that. However it seems to have got him in some trouble, but I think Kane will be alright come Survivor Series.

-Love Evan Bourne getting some love here. He deserves some kind of push and him and ADR should put on an excellent midcard matchup that could be the potential show stealer at Survivor Series.

-I always dig Survivor Series style matches, so I totally enjoyed the one on the show involving other talent. Mark Henry does what he does best picking up the victory and the faces winning gives the fans something to look forward to in the match.

-Regarding Survivor Series, it has that big show feel again and that is awesome. I love the stipulation added to the SD vs. Raw traditional match as it means more than just bragging rights. SD looked strong on their show, lets see if it holds up come the PPV.

Here we go! Team Raw is coming to Smackdown? I smell a little revenge, or are they just coming to get a look at their competition? We shall see later, it looks like. But now? We have a contenders match!? Awesome. You always have to be careful with doing it a lot because it shouldn't really be used like that, it is much better used sporadically here and now. Christian and Matt Hardy? Definitely not two people I expected, but that doesn't mean I don't like it either. I've always held Hardy in a positive light, even after all the stuff he's been through. I'm definitely pulling for him, but part of me knows he won't be coming out of it the victor. Using him as a face is definitely not something everyone does, especially because I always found that he was a lot blander when he was so devoted to the fans. Crossing my fingers that eventually you do find a way to repackage him, and I'm sure you will. It was definitely a good match, you've done this for a while so there isn't much more room for improvement these days. I love the whole Kane attack thing. And you did it right when it came to how much contact he made with the both of them, perfect. A chokeslam isn't going to make them not able to compete, but it is enough to send a message and enough to shake them up. And in the end, that's all he wants, he'll save the battering and bloodying for Survivor Series.

An 8 man tag? That can work. I can't imagine them being the easiest to write, but if you're comfortable with them, they can be an absolute gem when trying to extend and expand on feuds and that sort of stuff. And either way, it gives whichever team that wins, that extra advantage going into their match. Dolph was definitely a good first elimination, his meaning being very low in the whole tag team conundrum. Have you got him teamed up with Vickie yet? Might be a good idea to give him her, especially because she was what really brought him up a good few steps in the actual WWE. Alberto targeting his feud mate was a great idea too, something that you often see in these big matches. And then having them battle up the ramp? It is again, very cool and very unique. It is hard to really mix it up when it comes to how people are getting eliminated, yet you seem to be doing fine. And you do it again with Kozlov, a realistic but fresh way of eliminating someone. But I feel it should probably start coming down to pinfalls and submissions now that we have gotten down to the thick of things. You seem to have Santino down pat too, with the blind tags and all. He can be a great comical device if you know how to use him right, and you do. However, I'm not sure if I like his elimination. Both him and Kozlov were eliminated, and neither of them were even the last man standing? It makes Rhodes and McIntyre look almost a little too dominant and basically gives two options. Santino and Kozlov win as underdogs and shock everybody, or they're beaten again and their enemies show that they don't belong in the title race. It has made things much too predictable, and why Henry? Honestly, I would've been much happier even if Bourne won. Because at least you can push him, at least he is young and fresh and he catches the fans attention. Henry is blander than bland, yet he just defeated the tag champs? I guess what I mean is, how does he benefit from this and where can he go from here? Maybe you have a plan up your sleeve, but if you don't, I'm not sure I like it all that much.

Before we go on though, the little promo and attack after was definitely fitting. It at least sort of makes up for what happened to them, of course I have to hope that you'll have Henry come off injured or something though. As seeing a grinning behemoth trying to chase down two young gems is not what anyone wants to see. The whole Team Raw/Team Smackdown interaction impressed me, and the very fitting decision by Teddy was definitely something I could see him doing. CM Punk being a member is a bit puzzling to me, simply because I could never see him actually wanting to be a part of it, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and see what you do with him post SS. It's definitely interesting to see Layla and Michelle talk with eachother, especially because their personalities are so similar. And I think with going from reminiscing to assaulting eachother, it shows that they really are finished. I do start to wonder on where you'll take the victor, as I feel either of their partners really helped the other to go to new heights, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Hopefully for a sort of a thrown together match, it'll still be good. CM Punk and Morrison will be the main attraction, with the other two sort of being the supporting cast. It isn't a bad decision, with Morrison and Truth already teaming before and Punk and Guerrero? Um. Whatever, you can't always pick your partners. It wasn't anything too special, but a solid match and that is what you expect in the mid card. Team Smackdown really seems to be a lot more together than Raw, as I see nothing but troubles for the latter. The whole Edge thing also makes me wonder if it truly was his intention to watch his teammates, or if he did what he did with a deeper meaning. No matter what, he's still the Ultimate Opportunist. This gives them an obvious advantage now, but things can always change in the WWE. Alberto Del Rio requesting a match with Bourne is so him too, and while Bourne is much smaller and a lot less technical, you can never count out the little guy. Especially when Alberto is as frustrated as he is!

Having Jack Swagger actually defeat Bryan is definitely unexpected, especially because he did it while giving him a taste of his own medicine. The match was good and there was a definite size difference there so it is understandable, just surprising. Having Edge confront Bryan a little did help, just showing that Bryan usually is a lot better than that. I don't know why Edge is deciding to make all these enemies though, and I almost smell a hint of them turning on him sometime in the match at Survivor Series. Smackdown is now even more dominant after this one, are they gonna go three and oh? It would definitely be something new, very rarely seeing teams like this be so confident and so good, but could that even maybe be a bad thing? Hm. Not sure, not yet at least. The whole Christian promo was good, it spoke babyface and hey, if you have got the skills to do that, then do it. I almost feel though, because of how well you're selling him, an unexpected heel turn would be crazy good. Of course, you also lose a built up face, but again, it would definitely be a good option if you needed the shock factor eventually.

Kofi against Ted? Have to say that it's a great match, pairing two young guns together like that. And it only takes one more win for Smackdown to steal the momentum and go 3 and 0. It was definitely a fast paced match, from beginning to end, and it really felt like one of those matches that would have fans on their feet. I know you said Ted was accompanied by Maryse and I know you had her acknowledge him once it was all over and done with, but I felt like you could've mentioned her once or twice. It really is just minor things like that though, that alone isn't going to change my opinion. But I just felt it would be good to even just say that maybe she's interacting with fans or shaking her head at Ted, simple as that. The end was definitely interesting and great, but a little predictable too. There isn't much you can do about it, but with the previous two matches also having at least a small bit of Edge, you could expect he'd be coming out for this one too. One more thing though, even just with these three little involvements, you're really making him someone that you really can't help but hate, which is really awesome when he never even spoke a word. That is why when he got knocked out, I couldn't help but smile. It was a little surprising that there wasn't some all out brawl, but it was a good kind of surprise.

And lastly, the main event. It was weird because I never really thought that I wanted it to come sooner, because it didn't need too, not with the awesome matches you supplied before it, and that's a serious plus. You really gave the image that both would do whatever the heck they could to get this chance, and I felt things like Matt Hardy kicking out the Killswitch were examples of this. It started out a little Christian heavy at the beginning, usually there being a lot of back and forth stuff first, but you did successfully equal it out as the match went on, and I give you definite props for that. Kane coming out once more? Wow. You very rarely, well, ever see that happen, but it works with him. Of course, there is one thing and that is, why didn't Long do something to protect this? I just can't see him not doing anything about it, from putting it into a cage to declaring that there would be no disqualifications. It just seems a tad unrealistic, and I feel like it makes Smackdown's GM look a bit uneducated. This could always give you a good promo idea though, maybe having Hardy or Christian complain. They'd obviously be happy for obvious reasons, but you'd think they would also want to earn a shot fair and square. I don't know, just something that sort of bothered me a bit. That's the show, and that's my review. I know it is really long, but obviously, I want to give you something that you can actually benefit from. In the end though, I won't give it a rating because I'm really not good at making final decisions like that, but it was definitely a solid show in my eyes.

Unpredictability equals great build up, well done GCB.

*** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO *** PYRO ***

The cameras quickly pan around the Wachovia Center as the WWE Universe in attendance go wild for the latest WWE pay-per-view offering, Survivor Series 2010! The cameras show several fans with signs featuring Nexus logos, ‘Matt Hardy will not die’ messages and insulting Sheamus slogans. The camera focuses in on the WWE announce table which features Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole ...

JIM ROSS: We welcome you all to the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia for the 24th annual Survivor Series! I’m Jim Ross, with Hall of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and from SMACKDOWN, Michael Cole.

MICHAEL COLE: And what a night it is going to be, guys, with five championships on the line, a ‘3 Stages of Hell’ grudge match and a monster SMACKDOWN vs. RAW battle that will lead to the lives of one WWE superstar being changed significantly!

JERRY LAWLER: I can’t wait for it to get started!

The bell rings and the camera focuses on Justin Roberts in the ring with a microphone ready to introduce the first match of the evening ...

JUSTIN ROBERTS: This match is a SMACKDOWN vs. RAW Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match. The winning brand’s General Manager will get to draft any superstar from the losing brand’s roster!

*** METALINGUS ***

Edge.jpg

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Introducing first, the captain of Team RAW, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada ... the Rated R Superstar ... EDGE!

Edge heads out into the arena, in a blaze of pyrotechnics, wearing a red RAW t-shirt and looking determined and confident. He gets into the ring and taunts the crowd for a few moments before demanding a microphone from the time keeper. He stands central in the ring as his music fades out ...

EDGE: Over the past few weeks, you may have noticed that Team RAW has not been ... united. We’ve not been getting along too well. And last Friday on SMACKDOWN ... we were humiliated. We lost 3-0 and everybody is saying that we are finished here tonight.

Edge looks round with a concerned look in his eyes before moving on ...

EDGE: So, I got to thinking. What is the main problem about Team RAW? And the answer was ... well, obvious.

Many of the WWE Universe are pointing at Edge, some are saying ‘You!’ to answer the question posed by Edge.

EDGE: We have a great deal of talent on Team RAW ... We have the greatest captain that any team could have ...

Loud jeers and boos greet this statement but Edge shakes them off with a shrug.

EDGE: Which leaves just one option. We must have a weak link. A link that is causing the rest of Team RAW to not believe in ourselves ... And I have identified that link.

Edge walks around looking thoughtful as the crowd wait to hear which member of Team RAW it is that Edge is not happy with ...

EDGE: Daniel Bryan! He is the problem with Team RAW. I watched his match with Jack Swagger on Friday night, it was pathetic. Team RAW does not need a short, lightweight nerd who doesn’t eat meat. No way, we need him off the team, I thought ... and that is exactly what I have done. I called Daniel Bryan earlier tonight and ordered him to stay away tonight!

The crowd react angrily to the news that Daniel Bryan will not be representing Team RAW tonight and start a ‘You Suck!’ chant at Edge who just smiles back at them regardless.

EDGE: And as the RAW captain, it was my job to replace him. I looked at the RAW roster and one name jumped out at me. So, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the fifth member of Team RAW ...

The crowd turn towards the titantron with baited breath waiting ...

Miz is smiling as he heads to the ring to replace the man who he has had a heated rivalry with over the previous months. JUSTIN ROBERTS: Introducing the captain of SMACKDOWN, from Tampa, Florida ... THE BIG SHOW!

Big Show strides out in a blue SMACKDOWN shirt looking amused at the sudden change to RAW’s plans as he heads for the ring. He steps over the top rope and waves at Miz as he passes – Show and Miz were Tag Team Champions not so long ago – before picking up a microphone of his own.

BIG SHOW: Well done, Edge, you are making SMACKDOWN’s job so easy, my friend. RAW is in disarray, you can’t get along, you’re making last minute replacements! Tonight, my SMACKDOWN team will prove that the blue brand is the better brand!

Edge looks at Big Show in disgust and talks trash to him off the microphone. Show just laughs it off though and carries on ...

BIG SHOW: Last Friday, SMACKDOWN destroyed RAW winning all three matches. And here is the man that sealed the third of those wins ... my man, Kofi Kingston!

*** I COME FROM MONEY ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Representing RAW, from West Palm Beach, Florida ... TED DiBIASE!

DiBiase saunters to the ring with the beautiful Maryse on his arm and the Million Dollar Championship over his shoulder. He stops halfway down the ramp and hands the diamond encrusted belt to Maryse and sends her back before heading for the ring to join Miz and Edge in preparation for the first match ...

*** CHAVITO ARDIENTE ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Representing SMACKDOWN, from El Paso, Texas ... CHAVO GUERRERO!

The Mexican Warrior heads out to a good reception from the WWE Universe and Chavo acknowledges this as he heads for the ring. He takes off his poncho before leaping over the ropes and heading towards his SMACKDOWN team-mates and greeting them with a slap of the hands ...

*** WHAT’S UP? ***

Out comes R-Truth with his microphone and dancing around as he raps his way to the ring. Skipping and jumping, he encourages the crowd to join in before he slides into the ring and continues to sing. The music fades and Truth looks around the arena and then towards Edge, Miz and DiBiase in the corner in their red RAW shirts. Truth shakes his head with a small grimace and then launches into his trademark phrases ...

R-TRUTH: Philadelphia ... WHATSSSSSUP?

The crowd in the Wachovia Center chant back at R-Truth before cheering. Truth however has something more to say ...

R-TRUTH: I’ll tell you what’s up, Edge, taking out Daniel Bryan without telling nobody? Adding the Miz without telling nobody? You have got to be the worst choice as captain ever ...

The crowd cheer along with Truth’s comments ...

R-TRUTH: ... And that’s the truth!

Edge stares through R-Truth with a knowing look in his eyes. Both men talk at each other off the microphone and Truth laughs off Edge’s comments whilst Big Show laughs from the other side of the ring. He is clearly loving the state of the RAW team right now!

*** GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Representing SMACKDOWN, from Perry, Oklahoma ... the All-American American ... JACK SWAGGER!

Swagger heads out with his arms spread wide as he starts to make his way towards the ring. Halfway down the aisle, Swagger falls down and does three quick press-ups before jumping to his feet with an explosion of pyro behind him. Swagger uses the steel steps and ducks through the ropes and joins his SMACKDOWN team-mates in their corner of the ring.

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Representing RAW, from Los Angeles, California ... JOHN MORRISON!

Morrison enters to his usual slow-motion effect as he heads towards the ring to complete the five man RAW team that seems to be in complete disarray. Over the previous weeks, Morrison and Edge have had a rivalry that saw Edge defeat Morrison controversially to save his career back at Cyber Sunday last time out on pay-per-view.

*** THIS FIRE BURNS ***

JUSTIN ROBERTS: Representing SMACKDOWN, from Chicago, Illinois ... C. M. PUNK!

The final man of the match is CM Punk and he kneels at the top of the ramp before heading down to the ring shouting out ‘It’s my time!’ and rotating his hands around to show that he remains drug free. The second city saint gets into the ring and joins the SMACKDOWN team where there is a slight frostiness between him and the captain, Big Show. However, this pales into contrast when compared to the RAW team who are arguing between themselves on the opposite side of the ring with Truth and Morrison arguing with Miz and Edge, pushing and pointing and needing the referee just to keep order on the team ...

MICHAEL COLE: I’m not sure about your team’s chances here, guys, your boys do not seem to be able to pull together. This should be a walk in the park for SMACKDOWN!

JERRY LAWLER: I fear you might be right, Cole, I thought they’d pull together by now for the good of RAW!

JIM ROSS: They seem to be falling out about who is starting the match, King ...

JERRY LAWLER: It’s starting to get a little embarrassing, JR ...

MICHAEL COLE: Whereas Team SMACKDOWN are ready and raring to go, CM Punk is starting out for the blue brand!

EDGE (C), TED DiBIASE, THE MIZ, JOHN MORRISON & R-TRUTH vs. BIG SHOW (C), CHAVO GUERRERO, KOFI KINGSTON, CM PUNK & JACK SWAGGER

The referee begins to order members of Team RAW out of the ring as CM Punk waits patiently on the opposite side of the ring wearing a blue SMACKDOWN t-shirt with his team-mates stood on the ring apron behind him. As Punk jumps from leg to leg, RAW are still arguing over who is starting the match but in the end, the referee gets them all out except for R-Truth who is going start. Truth glares at Edge before turning around and sizing up CM Punk instead as the match gets set to begin.

MICHAEL COLE: And finally, it looks as if Team RAW are ready to go!

JIM ROSS: It’s going to be CM Punk for SMACKDOWN against R-Truth for RAW!

JERRY LAWLER: And take a look, guys ...

The screen splits into dual-screen and shows the two General Managers, Teddy Long of SMACKDOWN and HBK Shawn Michaels of RAW sat together watching on a plasma TV both hoping that their brand can be victorious and win the right to take a superstar from the other’s roster.

JERRY LAWLER: I wonder if HBK is worried about the early arguments on Team RAW?

Punk in a blue SMACKDOWN t-shirt and R-Truth in a red RAW t-shirt lock up and the match begins with both men looking to gain an advantage. Neither man can and Punk goes behind Truth and wraps his arms round his waist but Truth uses his elbow to try and fight out. Punk dodges these elbows and breaks, stepping back, before kicking Truth in the side with a well placed shot. Further strikes, with arms and feet, follow as Punk goes for a Muay Thai like combination that takes Truth down to the mat. Punk goes for a clothesline but Truth ducks under his arm and hits the ropes before Punk hits a snap slam to his opponent on his return. It becomes clear that Edge is jeering his team-mate as Truth reaches over and makes the tag to John Morrison ... obviously, Edge wasn’t impressed by R-Truth’s opening to the match there for RAW, can Morrison do better?

Morrison and Punk tie up and the referee breaks the hold as they roll along the ropes. Punk goes for a cheap shot on the break and staggers Morrison back before Punk whips Morrison into the corner. Punk follows in with a clothesline that Morrison ducks before spinning round and hitting a running knee to the side of Punk’s head that dazes Punk in the corner. Morrison looks to take advantage but is distracted by Edge who is sarcastically clapping Morrison from the RAW corner. What is Edge playing at here? Morrison walks over to Edge and the pair exchange heated words, Morrison clearly saying that he is going to win this match for RAW which makes Edge laugh. Punk takes advantage of the disruption on Team RAW by twisting Morrison’s arm behind his back before hitting a short clothesline – the Pepsi Twist as Punk calls it. With Morrison down, Punk makes the first cover of the night ...

Punk makes a tag to Jack Swagger who heads into the ring to double team Morrison here. As Morrison was in the pinning position, Miz was shouting something about ‘Marty Janetty’ and Morrison stares over at him as he gets to his feet. However, he doesn’t make it up as Swagger aims a stiff kick to the back of Morrison’s knee that sends him down to the mat again. Further kicks to the ankle and lower leg follow as Swagger looks to inflict damage on Morrison and set him up perfectly for the Ankle Lock submission later. Swagger drags Morrison up so he is gingerly resting on his leg and then hits an Atomic Bomb that drives Morrison’s injured leg down onto the mat again to make him wince in pain. Swagger follows up with a German Suplex to Morrison that he holds in a pinfall ...

* Kick out again from John Morrison *

John Morrison is kicking out often but he is taking a beating so far and needs to get back in the match by tagging in another one of Team RAW. However, a clothesline from Swagger sends him down again in the corner and Swagger looks to hit a corner slingshot splash. He runs over, leaps Morrison, jumps onto the middle rope and drops down ... but Morrison gets his knees up to the delight of the fans. Morrison gets to his feet hobbling on his bad leg but manages to hit a reverse calf kick to Swagger that allows him to get back on a roll. As Morrison rests on the rope for a moment though, Miz tags himself in and orders Morrison to leave the ring. Miz heads over towards Swagger but Morrison is unhappy and he spins Miz round to argue with him. The former tag team partners argue and begin to push each other in the RAW corner and R-Truth, Ted DiBiase and the captain Edge all begin to get involved in the heated discussion. Miz tells Morrison to get out of the ring so he can show him how to get the job done properly and turns to face Swagger ... however, Swagger has made the tag unbeknownst to the Miz ... BAM! KNOCKOUT PUNCH FROM BIG SHOW! Miz is out cold!

JUSTIN ROBERTS: The Miz has been eliminated!

Big Show stands over the fallen body of the Miz and laughs out loud whilst staring over at Edge and beckoning him to get into the ring. SMACKDOWN have the early advantage here but they still have four more eliminations to go before they can celebrate victory here tonight. Edge refuses to enter the match but officials are having to help Miz out of the ring with Alex Riley fussing around him and carrying the ‘Money in the Bank’ briefcase. Big Show looks over to Miz and waves cheerily whilst RAW argue again over the inclusion of Miz and his lack of anything in tonight’s match. Show is celebrating with his SMACKDOWN team when Ted DiBiase suddenly gets courageous and heads into the ring. He runs over to Big Show whose back is turned and hits a standing drop kick. Big Show, caught by surprise, stumbles forward and hits his head against the turnbuckle and Kofi Kingston tags himself into the match for the first time tonight.

Kofi and DiBiase lock up and test their strength against each other. Kofi is getting the better of things when DiBiase hits a cheap kick to the gut and reduces Kofi to his knees before grabbing him and hitting a snap DDT to Kingston. DiBiase goes for a cover and hooks Kofi’s leg as he looks to even the teams up at four each ...

* Kofi kicks out *

DiBiase lifts Kingston up off the mat and hits a gutbuster across his knee leaving Kofi down on the mat holding his ribs. DiBiase heads for the top rope and jumps off and hits a double foot stomp to the chest and stomach of Kingston on the mat. A chant of ‘Kofi! Kofi’ begins but DiBiase retains control and he eyes Kingston up as he gets to his feet slowly. What is on the mind of Ted DiBiase here? Million Dollar Dream! The move made famous by DiBiase’s father, the Million Dollar Man, now being used by Ted DiBiase to try and take out Kofi Kingston here. Kofi is stood up and fighting hard but is struggling to find an escape route against DiBiase who is the stronger, fresher man right now. In the end, Kofi takes a run towards his SMACKDOWN team and drops to send DiBiase shoulder first into the buckles which allows Kofi to make the escape. With Kofi down, DiBiase gets to his feet first but is scared to death as Big Show pulls back his huge right fist and threatens to punch DiBiase right there in the SMACKDOWN corner. DiBiase drops down and rolls out of the ring in fear and gets as far from Big Show as he can. With his attention drawn to the Big Show, DiBiase fails to notice Kofi getting up until he suddenly spots him flying out of the ring, through the ropes to hit a perfect Suicide Dive that has the crowd on their feet.

Kofi drags DiBiase back up and rolls him into the ring before leaping up on the mat. With DiBiase getting up, he leaps onto the top rope and dives up in the air at least ten feet to hit a fantastic crossbody to DiBiase. He holds on and lands in a pinfall attempt ...

Kofi and DiBiase both get to their feet steadily and DiBiase now manages to make a tag to the RAW team captain, Edge. Edge looks at Kofi struggling and prepares himself before racing over to hit the Spear! Kofi dodges out of the way and Edge has to put the brakes on as he heads towards the corner of the ring. As he turns around, Kofi spins around looking to hit Trouble in Paradise but Edge manages to duck out of the way. Edge realises he needs to hit a move and he catches Kofi coming back and hits a Flapjack to take him down face first. Edge follows up by locking in a half nelson and then lifts Kofi up and drops him down in a facecrusher move from the half nelson. Edge makes the cover ...

* Kick out from Kofi *

Kofi looks to respond with a dropkick as they get up but again Edge is a step in front and avoids the impact. As Kofi gets to his feet, Edge is behind him and hits the Edge-o-matic to crash Kofi’s back down onto the mat. He retreats to the RAW corner now and begins to pull at his hair to signal that the Spear is coming again. Edge looks wild in the corner and the SMACKDOWN team are trying to catch Kingston’s attention to stop him walking into it. Big Show is shouting to Kofi and Edge decides that he has to stop this instead and races over to hit a forearm to Big Show and take him down off the mat. Show lands on the floor as Edge regroups ready for the Spear ... but Show looks angry now and he comes into the ring illegally to go after Edge. Edge runs away – tagging R-Truth as he goes – and Big Show chases him up the ramp where Edge waits a good 20 feet away from Big Show.

Kofi Kingston manages to tag in Jack Swagger but all hell is about to break loose. R-Truth and Swagger are stood in the ring, Kofi is down in the SMACKDOWN corner and Edge and Big Show are on the ramp area. As Truth and Swagger look on, Morrison and DiBiase decide that they need to help protect their captain – at last, some team unity – and they attack Big Show. However, they are then provoking the SMACKDOWN team, Chavo Guerrero and CM Punk, who race around to take on DiBiase and Morrison on the outside. The referee is struggling to maintain order and exits the ring to try and restore it. In the chaos, Swagger hits a low blow to the distracted R-Truth that crumples him up in a heap. As the crowd boo Swagger’s actions, the All American American drags Truth up and hits a belly to belly suplex before grabbing his foot and twisting it round to lock in the Ankle Lock. Truth is in real pain as Swagger locks the hold in further and there is no prospect of getting to the ropes here. It looks as if SMACKDOWN is about to eliminate a second RAW superstar. R-Truth has no choice ...

He hits a Big Boot to Swagger to save R-Truth who rolls up in a ball clutching his ankle that Swagger has damaged badly. However, he manages to get to his feet and looks over to see that Swagger is getting up too ... Truth is in pain but he manages to get over and hits the Scissors Kick. R-Truth with the cover ...

Unperturbed, Truth heads for the top rope as Guerrero struggles up. R-Truth launches towards the Mexican Warrior looking to hit a leg drop across the back of his neck but Chavo avoids it and Truth crashes down on the mat. Luckily for Truth, he is within reach of the RAW corner and he makes a timely tag to Ted DiBiase who re-enters and locks up with Chavo in the middle of the ring. Chavo gets the upper hand and hits a kick to the gut of DiBiase before locking him in a headlock to set up a suplex. Chavo lifts DiBiase up and drops him down once before swinging his hips and getting back to his feet to hit a second suplex. He repeats it a third time – the three Amigos to the delight of the crowd at ringside and then shakes his hips as he heads for the corner as a tribute to the late, great Eddie Guerrero. The crowd respond with an ‘Eddie! Eddie!’ chant as Chavo climbs to the top rope ready to go for the Frog Splash. He leaps off the top buckle but DiBiase manages to roll out of the way to the dismay of the WWE Universe at ringside. DiBiase stretches and makes a tag to the RAW captain, Edge ... DiBiase is not to be outdone though and he locks in the Million Dollar Dream for the second time tonight on Kofi Kingston. Kofi begins to weaken and Big Show begins to slam his foot down on the steel steps and starts a ‘Kofi! Kofi!’ chant in the arena. He stops and peers around a door looking for somebody but the dressing room is empty – there is nobody there. HBK continues with the camera following him and then in the distance, we see Edge carrying his bag towards the exit into the parking lot ...

SHAWN MICHAELS: Where do you think you’re going, captain?

Edge turns in shock to see HBK walking towards him. Edge looks down at his feet and then back up with a smirk on his face. He drops his bag and points at HBK.

EDGE: I wouldn’t come after me, right now, Mr. GM. Do you remember the night you announced yourself as the RAW General Manager? You wanted to be the one to kick me out of the WWE. Remember?

SHAWN MICHAELS: Look, Edge, I trusted you to lead RAW. I thought that you would be able to look past our differences and do a job for the team. Tonight, you let every person on Monday Night RAW down ...

EDGE: Hold it, let’s get something straight, Michaels. I don’t care who I let down tonight. I didn’t walk out because of John Morrison ... I walked out because I was planning to do so all along, I was planning to annoy you.

SHAWN MICHAELS: Oh, really? Well, if that is how you wish to play it, Edge, that is how it will be. But I am in charge here on RAW and I have the right to discipline you however I want ...

EDGE: Discipline me? Oh yeah, go for it.

SHAWN MICHAELS: Tonight, Edge, you failed to do your job properly for the brand that you are employed by. Therefore, I am suspending you for four weeks!

The crowd in the arena cheer as Edge’s smile falters and he looks shocked at HBK’s decision ...

EDGE: A suspension? Four weeks?

Edge thinks about it before smirking at HBK again ...

EDGE: I think a four week suspension is worth it to get back at you, Michaels. I’ll see you in four weeks, sir!

Edge picks up his bag and walks out of the door into the parking lot leaving Shawn Michaels looking as angry as he has ever looked ... The camera switches back inside the arena to the ring where Tony Chimel is waiting in the ring to introduce the second match of the evening ...

TONY CHIMEL: This match is set for one fall and is for the WWE Tag Team Championships!

*** LA VITTORIA E MIA ***

VladimirKozlovandSantinoMarella.jpg

TONY CHIMEL: Introducing first, the challengers ...weighing at combined weight of 529 pounds ... VLADIMIR KOZLOV and SANTINO MARELLA!

The strange team of Kozlov and Santino head towards the ring without Santino’s girlfriend, Tamina, but they do look confident of victory tonight. Santino is acting his usual jovial self as he enters the ring with his Italian singlet whilst Vladimir Kozlov looks his usual focused and determined self in his red robe. In the ring, Kozlov stands in the corner while Santino waves to the crowd and accepts their ‘Santino!’ chants as they wait for the arrival of the Tag Team Champions ...

*** BROKEN DREAMS ***

CodyRhodesandDrewMcIntyre.jpg

TONY CHIMEL: And their opponents, weighing in at a combined total of 479 pounds ... they are the WWE Tag Team Champions ... “DASHING” CODY RHODES and DREW McINTYRE!

The slow, intense walk of Drew McIntyre leads the Tag Team Champions out with the title belt around his waist. Following him is Cody Rhodes checking his hair and making sure everything is in place. They enter the ring and hold their Tag Title belts up high before switching their attention to the challengers in the corner ...

JIM ROSS: The question is, guys, how much focus do Drew and Cody have right now on their challengers? They’ve been preoccupied recently with Mark Henry as they proved on Friday night on SMACKDOWN last week ...

Footage of the Tag Champions brutal beating of Mark Henry is played before the cameras return to the ring to show a smirking Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes ...

MICHAEL COLE: You could argue that, JR, but look at what happened before that. The champions eliminated both Santino and Kozlov in an 8-man Tag Team match. Right now, these two idiots are huge underdogs here tonight!

JERRY LAWLER: Please, please, please Michael Cole, please go and call Vladimir Kozlov an idiot to his face!

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS: DREW McINTYRE & ‘DASHING’ CODY RHODES vs. SANTINO MARELLA & VLADIMIR KOZLOV

The match begins with Santino and Drew McIntyre in the ring sizing each other up and exchanging a few nothing holds as they look to get on top early. A cheap forearm smash allows Drew McIntyre to send Santino spinning into the ropes where Drew has time to calculate and hit a Hip Toss to take Santino down to the mat. Drew locks in a standing Arm Bar to Santino and positions him in the Tag Team Champions corner of the ring whilst Santino struggle to wriggle clear. With Santino locked up, Drew reaches over and makes the tag to his partner, Cody Rhodes. Rhodes quickly climbs the turnbuckles to the top and crashes down with an Axe Handle over the twisted arm of Santino Marella. As the referee ushers Drew out of the ring, Cody pushes Santino down to the mat and then uses the ropes to get leverage for a standing knee drop to the Italian’s face. A second knee drop follows before Cody hooks the leg for the first cover of the match ...

* Santino kicks out *

Cody drags Santino to his feet and hits a Russian Leg Sweep before tagging Drew McIntyre back into the match to continue the early beating of Santino Marella. The champions are clearly looking to isolate Santino and – if it went their way – keep Kozlov out of the match full stop. A snap suplex from Drew McIntyre has Santino holding his lower back on the mat before Drew goes for the pinfall again ...

* Santino kicks out for a second time wincing *

As Santino staggers to a neutral corner, McIntyre follows and smirking pushes him back first into the corner. Drew disrespectfully slaps Santino in the face several times whilst talking down to him about their lack of chance to win the Tag Team Championship tonight. He grabs Santino by the cheeks and pulls his face towards him to talk even more trash but Santino takes his chance and hits a slap back to the Sinister Scotsman. Drew is incensed and he sets about wildly swinging his arms and pummelling the Italian whilst Santino tries to cover up. The referee has to physically order Kozlov back into his corner before breaking the pummelling arms of McIntyre and this causes further damage to the challenger from Calabria, Italy. He slumps in the corner as Drew walks away and plays to the crowd before looking to hit a running clothesline in the corner. However, Santino manages to avoid the contact and Drew hits the buckles chest first. Hurt, Drew immediately goes for a tag to Cody Rhodes but this has given Santino chance to stretch over towards Kozlov for a tag ... Can he make it?

No! Rhodes races across the ring and launches a stiff boot to the head and shoulders of Santino and knocks him through the ropes without making the tag. With the referee still ordering Kozlov to stay where he is, Cody follows Santino and drives him back with his shoulder so that he crashes back into the ring apron. With Santino in pain, Rhodes rolls him back into the ring and slides himself in as well. Pinfall from Cody Rhodes ...

* Santino escapes again *

Cody Rhodes drags Santino up to his feet where he stands on jelly legs. Santino swings a punch or two but Rhodes avoids the contact with ease before hitting a stiff kick to the gut of the Italian. With Santino dropping to his knees, Cody hits a DDT and takes Santino down to the mat again. Is this it? Have the champions retained their titles?

* Santino just manages to kick out *

Cody Rhodes looks like he has had enough of this now and he stands between Santino and the corner where Vladimir Kozlov is waiting desperately for the tag. Santino gets to his feet but Rhodes is still there ... Rhodes springboards off the middle rope and goes for the Beautiful Disaster kick to Santino but he does the splits and avoids the contact sending the crowd wild. A superkick from Santino takes down Cody Rhodes and both men are now looking for a tag. To the delight of the crowd, Santino makes it first and tags in Vladimir Kozlov – bad news for the Tag Team Champions. Kozlov reaches Rhodes before he can tag in Drew McIntyre and traps him with his arms before hitting a series of headbutts to poor Cody Rhodes’ chest. Kozlov lets Rhodes go so that he slumps to the ground and then hits a Big Boot to Drew McIntyre as he comes rushing into the ring as well. Drew rolls out of the ring and it looks as if Kozlov has Cody Rhodes where he wants him. He whips Cody into the ropes before lifting him into a Fallaway Slam that crashes Cody down on his back. Kozlov with the pinfall ...

* Drew McIntyre saves Cody with a kick to Kozlov’s head! *

Vladimir Kozlov gets to his feet and looks intensely at Drew McIntyre who backs away a little at first ... however, Drew suddenly swings at Kozlov who ducks and pushes him away with great force. Kozlov turns away from McIntyre but doesn’t notice Rhodes springboard off the ropes ... BEAUTIFUL DISASTER! Cody Rhodes has taken down Vladimir Kozlov with the Beautiful Disaster kick to the head. Can Cody make the cover? Slowly, he crawls over Kozlov and hooks the leg ...

* Kozlov kicks out *

Rhodes looks in disbelief at the referee before stumbling over and making the tag to Drew McIntyre and letting him go after the Russian. Drew rushes over to take advantage of a still groggy Kozlov and hits a perfect belly to back suplex that crunches Kozlov up on the mat. McIntyre now tries to pin the Moscow Mauler and retain the titles ...

* Another kick out from Kozlov *

Kozlov and Santino are certainly battling hard to win these championships and they keep fighting hard. Drew hits stiff forearm smashes to the back of Kozlov’s neck and then sets him up for a Powerbomb. Can Drew McIntyre lift Vladimir Kozlov up and hit the Powerbomb? The answer is no, he can’t and Kozlov wriggles free ... As Drew turns to face Kozlov, the Russian uses his head again to strike the Scotsman in the chest over and over and over. With Drew down in the corner, Kozlov – battered in the last few moments – stumbles over to Santino and makes the tag. In comes Santino, ready for action again, he rushes over but McIntyre hits a clothesline to the Italian. Both men are down on the mat as the match starts to edge towards the pivotal moments. Drew goes for a second clothesline in a row but Santino again uses the splits to escape before hitting a low down spinning kick that takes McIntyre down. Spurred on by the cheers of the WWE Universe, Santino hits the ropes before saluting and dropping a diving headbutt to McIntyre ... Cover from Santino ...

Drew scrambles to his feet and manages to make a tag to Cody Rhodes who comes rushing in to hit a smash to Santino but yet again the splits provides Santino’s escape route. * Rhodes kicks out *

Santino gets to his feet first and looks around the ring at the WWE Universe with a knowing look in his eye. The volume in the arena rises as they realise what Santino is planning to go for next ... Is it time for the Cobra? Yes it is! Santino moves and twists him arm ready to hit the ‘ridiculous’ finishing move to Cody Rhodes but the ‘Dashing’ one sees it coming and drops back down in fear and backs away ... all the way out of the ring. Disappointment is etched over Santino’s face but Rhodes has got out of the ring right where Vladimir Kozlov is waiting. He catches Cody with a right hand or three before using the trapping headbutts move again to leave Cody struggling. He rolls Cody back into the ring as the referee admonishes him for his interference on the outside and demands he returns to the corner. Kozlov and the referee argue a little as Santino prepares for another Cobra behind him. However, Drew McIntyre has other ideas as he sneaks into the ring and catches Santino with a huge Big Boot that flattens the Italian behind the ref’s back. The WWE Universe boo and jeer as Cody Rhodes drags Santino to his feet ... we know what is coming now as Cody prepares ... CROSS RHODES! Surely, the match is over now ... Pinfall from Rhodes ...

Loud jeers and boos reign down on Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre as they celebrate their win but the bell doesn’t ring ... The referee has noticed that Santino’s left leg is propped up on the bottom rope and he points this out to the Tag Team Champions. Rhodes and McIntyre tell the referee to ring the bell and raise their hands but the referee refuses and the pair are livid with the decision ...

MICHAEL COLE: Oh, come off it, Cody Rhodes had the match won!

JIM ROSS: But Santino Marella’s foot is on the bottom rope, Michael, surely that means that the pinfall is not legal?

MICHAEL COLE: The referee counted to three, JR, the match is over!

A replay of the Cross Rhodes move and the subsequent pinfall is shown for the TV audience and it clearly shows that Santino raises his foot up and places it on the bottom rope right as the referee counts 3 ...

MICHAEL COLE: No way, Santino was too late!

JERRY LAWLER: Oh shut up, Cole, Santino escaped it, good decision from the referee. The match is continuing ...

Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes are advancing menacingly on the referee in the corner who is defending his decision despite the intimidation. The Tag Team Champions are furious with the decision and Rhodes clearly believes that he won the match there. However, the referee’s decision has been made and Rhodes and McIntyre are giving Santino time to recover. A loud ‘Santino! Santino!’ chant brings the champions to their senses and reminds them to turn around. However, Santino and Kozlov are already charging over at them and clubbing them with forearms. In the melee, the referee gets crushed by Drew McIntyre in the corner and falls to his knees as the madness continues. Drew takes advantage and hits a low blow to Vladimir Kozlov which will go unpunished as the referee has not seen it. McIntyre gets set for the Future Shock DDT which he delivers to Kozlov before rolling him out of the ring. Santino and Cody are still fighting in the corner and Drew goes over and makes it a Handicap situation for Marella as he joins in and Cody re-establishes the upper hand. Drew leaves the ring and Cody hits another Cross Rhodes to Santino. He drags him to the centre of the ring and hooks the legs but the referee is still down and has fallen out of the ring to the dismay of the champions.

MarkHenry.jpg

Here comes Mark Henry!

The ‘World’s Strongest Man’ has had major problems with the Tag Team Champions recently and he is not out here to help them retain their titles. Rhodes goes on the attack and launches over at Henry as soon as he steps through the ropes but he is caught ... World’s Strongest Slam! McIntyre follows Rhodes and tries to hit a clothesline but he hardly manages to dent the big man who hits clubbing forearms to Drew before lifting him up high into the Military Press ... and then dropping him down to the mat from ten feet in the air. Henry rolls Drew out of the ring and then exits behind the back of the referee who is just about back on his feet in the ring. Santino and Cody Rhodes are the legal men and Santino is up on his feet ... He surveys the scene and smiles as Cody Rhodes slowly gets to his feet after the attack from Mark Henry ... COBRA!

Santino Marella hits the Cobra to Cody Rhodes and covers his opponent ...

WINNER: Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov (14:57)

TONY CHIMEL: Here are your winners and the new WWE Tag Team Champions ... SANTINO MARELLA & VLADIMIR KOZLOV!

Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov embrace in the ring as the referee hands them the Tag Team Championship belts. Santino is delirious and he begins celebrating in the ring with his usual trumpet celebration and urges Kozlov to copy his actions. The big Russian joins in eventually whilst the camera zooms in on the faces of Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes as they back away up the ramp clearly upset with what has gone down tonight ...

MICHAEL COLE: A complete and utter fix, Cody and Drew should still be the Tag Team Champions ... They had Santino pinned and they were attacked by Mark Henry! They didn’t stand a chance!

JERRY LAWLER: You know what they say about payback, Cole, Mark Henry just paid back the FORMER Tag Team Champions right there!

The camera switches backstage where Josh Matthews is stood with a microphone ready for an exclusive interview ...

JOSH MATTHEWS: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time ... the WWE Champion ... RANDY ORTON!

RandyOrton.jpg

Cheers from outside as Orton appears beside Josh with the WWE Championship over his shoulder. Orton nods his head to Matthews waiting for his questions ...

JOSH MATTHEWS: Randy, thank you for joining me ahead of your big match later on ... tonight, you team up with the Hart Dynasty, Ezekiel Jackson and John Cena to take on the Nexus in a 10-man Tag Team match. How do you combat the threat that the Nexus could pin any of the four men on your team and win your WWE Championship for Wade Barrett?

RANDY ORTON: Josh, I’m not going to stand here and tell you that I’m not worried ... because that would be a lie. I know that none of the Nexus can defeat me to win the title ... but how sure am I that they can’t beat the rest of my team? I’m not sure. I guess I only have one option and that is to trust them.

JOSH MATTHEWS: Can you trust them? Can you trust John Cena after the long and storied rivalry you have had in your careers?

RANDY ORTON: Hey, it’s no secret that Cena and I are never going to be the best of friends. Do I like John Cena? No. Do I respect John Cena? Yes I do. John Cena is one of the greatest WWE Superstars there is today, that there has ever been ... Can I trust him? Hustle. Loyalty. Respect. That’s the code by which Cena lives his life, the message he preaches to all the Ce-Nation? I have no choice but to trust John Cena ... and if I can’t trust him? If he doesn’t give everything he has to ensure that Randy Orton retains the WWE Championship tonight? Not only will his words be hollow ... but, Josh ... I’ll make him regret the day he ever walked into the WWE and spoke them.

An intense Randy Orton steps out of the interview area with a thoughtful look on his face and heads away to prepare for the match later tonight ... The camera switches back to the announce table where Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole are all looking gripped by the words that Orton just spoke.

JIM ROSS: What a night it is going to be, gentlemen, I can’t wait for that match right there!

JERRY LAWLER: I’m sure that Orton has nothing to worry about, JR, Cena will do everything in his power to stop the Nexus and Wade Barrett getting their hands on the WWE Championship here tonight!

JIM ROSS: I hope you’re right, King, Cena has thousands ...

MICHAEL COLE: Who cares about John Cena and Randy Orton, King? Who gives a damn about it, JR? We’ve had a wonderful night already, SMACKDOWN won the huge Survivor Series Elimination Match earlier on and now Teddy Long has to choose which RAW superstar he wants to take from SMACKDOWN. And we just saw Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov become the new Tag Team Champions ... although it was completely unfair!

JIM ROSS: Well, Michael, you’re entitled to your opinion ...

JERRY LAWLER: Just like I’m entitled to shut your mouth whenever I want to!
