Defining The Era's...

Craig-O-Mac

Occasional Pre-Show
Simple enough question... We all know the debate raging on the IWC that pits the Attitude Era against the PG Era.

However, my question doesnt really relate to that so much.

My question is what other era's are there?

Are these officially named? Have you any personal names for specific era's?

What IS an era? Feel free to be expressive in this thread. Give estimated time-spans of these era's or just name them in passing.

For the record.....I've heard of Golden Era, New Generation, Attitude Era, Ruthless Agression and the Current PG Era.

I would say there's the:
Television Era-When wrestling was on it's way to stardom getting on television with stars such as Lou Thesz, Harley Race, Gorgeous George, Bruno Sammartino, etc.
Golden Age-When pro wrestling went mainstream with cartoon gimmicks, and appearances in the media.
New Generation-The early 90s and prelude to the attitude Era when cartoon gimmicks started to become more edgier and realistic. In another words, new.
Attitude Era-PG 14- it speaks for itself.
Ruthless Aggression Era-an aftermath of the Attitude Era in which it was more of not necessarily PG-14 but no PG in where stars like Edge, Christian, Jericho were rising. It died in 2005.
PG Era-speaks for itself.
