Robinson travelled the world and was a big success everywhere he went. That's commendable, but Cena has done precisely the same thing to a lot more people and has had longevity at the top in a manner similar to nobody else. Cena is a bona fide legend and should progress here.

Billy Robinson was revered for his legit technical skill during an era where having technical skill really mattered. As a performer he was a solid mid card hand. He never drew the money that Lou Thesz or Danny Hodge did. And he never became a cultural icon the same way Verne Gagne or Karl Gotch did. He was a prominent name that worked a few noteworthy matches with some of the biggest names of the industry at the time.

John Cena on the other hand has been the face of the industry for over a decade now. He's been WWE's top money maker consistently since 2008. A 16 time world champion to boot. And yet while the industry has changed since Billy Robinson worked, a good chunk of it remains the same. Cena back in the 60's would have fallen into the same group as Rogers and Rocca. Performance athletes that didn't have the first clue how to apply a shoot hold in a legit match, but yet they were still super popular.

Cena is great at hiding the "work" when he needs to. And this would have been a fantastic match, but it's Cena's to win.
