Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House

In Illinois, there's a proposal for a fee that children would have to pay to ride the bus to school, probably something like a $1 a day.
So just to be clear, we can't ask millionaires making 7-8 figures a year to pay a single dollar more a year, but we can ask families with 7 year olds to pay for a ride to school?
And before someone explains, I don't have a huge problem with the fee as it's obvious they're broke. I have a problem with the refusal to ask the rich to pay a little more and them saying it's not their problem to solve as they sit back and complain that their taxes are still too high when them saving money is costing millions of people.
