Weekly, monthly and yearly the best of the best players in the leagues, the World Cup, European Cup and Champion's League (as far as I recall) create a setup of the best players from that round or tournament.
And we also create our own on occasions (I know I have) of what players you think did the best in said round, said tournament etc. or for that sake, the favorite mix of your favorite players.
So this thread is for you to create a team, any football player currently active, or ever, to the team that you would love to mix together if you had the possibility.
Please specify position you want said player to be playing (due to for example that a defensive player can play different defensive positions, or be qualified to play a midfield position or offensive position)
I'm personally only gonna specify my dream team of all time due to the fact that it may already be dominated by currently active guys, or someone who recently retired in the last few years.
Dream team of all time: 4-4-2 position
Goalkeeper: Peter Schmeichel - My favorite goalkeeper of all time, very talented guy, only deserving of being on the list.
Left defensive: Roberto Carlos - insane defensive player, one of the greatest ever perhaps if you ask me, lethal free kicks, definitely deserving on this list.
Center defensive 1: Per Nielsen - Great defensive player, played his whole career in Brøndby I.F and played on the national team, and definitely worth being on this list.
Center defensive 2: Jamie Carragher - also a great defensive player, currently active in Liverpool, and I'm very happy with him on the team (seeing as I'm playing with Liverpool in Football manager 2010)
Right defensive: Thomas Helveg - Wouldn't perhaps specify him as great, but he was pretty good, and he's been a key player in some important matches for the Danish national team.
Left midfielder: Pavel Nedvěd - This guy was red hot during during the first half of the 00's, being declared football player of the year in 2003, and it certainly showed, with great performances for Juventus and the Czech Republic national team in 2004.
Center midfielder 1: Zinedine Zidane - One of, if not the greatest midfielder of all time, this guy was so fucking talented, and was very important to Real Madrid and the French national team.
Center midfielder 2: Steven Gerrard (Captain) - My favorite football player of all time, alongside Zidane and Schmeichel, and it's not without reason that he's on this list, because he's one of the best midfielders currently active in my opinion.
Right midfielder: Luis Figo - boy did I love this guy during his time with Real Madrid, he was very talented, the period where Raul, Luis Figo and Zinedine Zidane ruled the team of Real Madrid (period of 2001-2004 really in my opinion) my love grew for this insane talent, and he was definitely a key player in the success of Portugal in 2006 in my opinion.
Forwarder 1: Michael Owen - this guy was so very very talented, I hated that he left Liverpool to go to Real Madrid, because I absolutely loved his time with Liverpool, he was definitely one of their key players.
Forwarder 2: Raúl González - Like I said with Luis Figo, this guy dominated with Real Madrid in the early 00's and was by far one of my favorite forwarders of all time.
Time for you to specify your dream team.
Edit: I realize I did it again, the massive mistake of saying "football" I apologize to all the American football fans that came here to write about football, and not soccer.
