Your Fav Five Greatest Wrestlers who never won a world title

CM Steel

A REAL American
There is a long list of wrestlers from the past to the present who never won a world championship in their careers. My question is, who are your top five favorite wrestlers to never win the big one? Personally my fav five are...

1. Rowdy Roddy Piper
2. Mr. Perfect/Scott Hall (Tie)
3. Ted Dibiase
4. Jake "The Snake" Roberts
5. The Junkyard Dog

Who's in your fav five as the greatest wrestlers to not win a world title?

This is a tough list to make. To be honest, I can make this list today and probably give a different list tomorrow. There are so many great wrestlers that never won "the big belt". It also depends on one's definition of "The big belt". Some people would say Mr. Perfect was a world champion because he was AWA Champion. Other don't.

1. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper
2. Arn Anderson
3. Scott Hall
4. "Mr. Perfect" Curt Henning
5. Owen Hart

Runner-Ups: "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith, and many others I fail to remember now

Oh Ok cool. I can answer this one w/o hesitation.

1. Owen Hart
2. Razor Ramon
3. Ahmed Johnson
4. The British Bulldog
5. Goldust. (Really Great Wrestler, and in the late 90's I beleived he deserved a world title run. Don't Judge me.)

1. Razor Ramon- everything about him says star power
2. Mr. PERFECT
3. Ted Dibiase
4. Piper
5 Farooq/Ahmed Johnson (tie) their feuds were great either guy coulda have held the gold

Top 5 never to win the world title:

1. Rowdy Roddy Piper
2. Ted DiBiase
These first two were THE villains in the WWF in the 80s, skilled in the ring, and on the mike.
3. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine
He was a wrestler who exhibited a flashy side outside the ring, but had a great work ethic inside the ring
4. Jake "The Snake" Roberts
After he hooked up with Precious Paul Ellering, his career took a sharp turn upwards. His interviews are stuff of legend, and was very capable in the ring.
5. (tie) Ivan Putski/Chief Jay Strongbow (Had to have some faces on this list)
The two most popular wrestlers in the WWWF that weren't named Sammartino or Backlund back in the 70s.

Honorable mention--Curt Hennig (He did win the AWA title, but they were circling the toilet at that time), Magnum TA (If not for a motorcycle accident, he would have had a short title reign; possibly Steamboat's reign in the late 80s), Paul Jones & Wahoo McDaniel(Similar to Strongbow & Putski in Mid-Atlantic),

1.John Morrison
2.Johnny Nitro
3.John Hennigan
4.John Morrison
5.John Morrison

1. JYD (won multiple southern titles)
2. Curt Hennig (although won AWA title)
3. Roddy Piper
4. Arn Anderson
5. Ahmed Johnson (Big T)

I would list Curt Hennig/Mr. Perfect at the top spot but technically he was the AWA World Heavyweight champion.

So I guess my #1 would be Ted Dibiase, he definitely should have been the WWF World Heavyweight Champion at some point for a lengthy run when he was the Million Dollar Man. he was the perfect foil for any face during that era and would have made an outstanding champion during that time period.

My #2 would probably be Roddy Piper, he should have at least beat Hogan once for the title and then it would have been good story for Hogan to chase Piper for the belt and when it back before Piper ultimately turning face.

My #3 would be Jake the Snake Roberts, much like Dibiase during his heel run in the WWF he would have been the perfect villain to any hero. He could have had a great run as champion during this era.

My #4 would be Magnum TA and I am sure he would have won many not for his tragic career ending car accident.

My #5 would be Davey Boy Smith, he had classic bouts with both Michaels and Hart, and I definitely think he would have been a very successful champion if he had been given the chance.

While I love guys like Arn Anderson and JYD I just don't think they were meant to be World Champions.

For the sake of this thread, I count the WWF/E, AWA, and NWA/WCW titles.

1. Rowdy Roddy Piper
2. The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase
3. The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith
4. Ravishing Rick Rude
5. Jake the Snake Roberts

Technically, Rude was a three-time world champion in WCW

Meh, I don't consider either the International Heavyweight championship or the WCWA championships as true world titles.
