You can play any film role in history...

Going on 10 years with WrestleZone
A major film company is remaking a movie, and you are going to play a character in that film. What film are you in, and what role are you playing?

For me, I have a short list of 3:

A Christmas Carol - Ebeneezer Scrooge. Ever since first seeing the inspiration that is George C. Scott play the classic Dickins character, I've wanted to take on the Scrooge role. It's a fun role and a chance to explore and play a range of characters. I know I can't hold a candle to Scott, but I'd have fun trying.

The Breakfast Club - Andrew Clark. The wrestler. I want to play this because Estevez sucked in this role, and I think I'd play better opposite Judd Nelson and Anthony Michael Hall than "Gordon Freakin' Bombay" anyday.

Silence of the Lambs - Buffalo Bill. Expecting Lecter? I'd take that one too, but I think I'd enjoy exploring the range of a true madman in the midst of his decent into darkness. And to echo the famous line "it rubs the lotion on its skin, it does this whenever its told." Nice.

I would also love playing Scrooge, BUT... only in a remake of A Muppet Christmas Carol. That movie has to be my favorite adaptation of the story.

That also brings me to my next one; Bob Hoskins' Eddie Valiant from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? That has to be to one of the most difficult, yet satisfying performances anyone could ever give.

Also, Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple. I did a contemporary version of the play in high school, and I'd love to do it as a film. Oscar is such a fun, yet complex role, and he can played either with complete cantankerous indifference, or an over-the-top performance of the man who can handle the stress anymore.

Finally, I'd like to play Peter Sellers' roles in Dr. Strangelove. This movie has to be one of the smartest, funniest satires in the history of film, and Peter Sellers plays his three roles to perfection, including the titular Dr. Strangelove. Mein Fuher, I can walk!!

As sad as it is, the first one to come to my mind was Michael Cera in Juno, if nothing else to get to be near/make out with Ellen Page. My name is Klunderbunker and I am a nerd.

On to more serious topics though, I would go with Jimmy Stewart in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Stewart is my all time favorite actor and this is my favorite of his roles. I'm a big political junkie, and the filibuster scene in the end brings chills to my spine every single time I see it. I had to memorize it once for a speech and I lost it during the speech. I got carried away and would up ad libbing a speech against the government. It was so much fun.

Aside from taht, the main one that comes to mind is Bill Yoast from Remember the Titans. He was played to perfection and to get to work aside a character like Herman Boone would just be great. And its a football movie on top of that. Just great fun all around.

My first one would be Norman Bates in the first Pyscho movie. It's a favorite of mine of Bates is one of my all-time favorite characters. I think Anthony Perkins played him amazingly but I would love to play the role. I am a drama actor(theater only)and I love playing characters with two or more personalities. It's challenging to potray two characters in one and have it come off believable so I would defenitly want that one.

Next I would want to be Brad Pitt's character from Mr. & Mrs. Smith just to make up with Angelina Jolie(a guily pleasure)and to also get to fight her.

Good thread. I think that I couldnt play a role that was too iconic because if it was then I'd probably be against the remake, so my list is as follows:

Assault On Precinct 13: I think the characters name is Napolean Wilson and I cant be bothered to check, I just love the character of a murderer being used to defend the police station from other murderer's, in all fairness you learn later that the people he killed probably deserved it but that helps make him a great character to me. He is a bit cliche' these days but when I first saw the film it was a new concept to me.

Also Assault is probably the greatest B Movie ever.

The LadyKillers: To take away from what I said about iconic roles one I would play is Alec Guiness's role in the ladykillers, I just love that film and I know I couldnt do the role the justice it deserves but I would still love to play it.

Assuming I was right for the role (I clearly wouldn't be suited to play a 6 year old kid or a 50 year old black guy lol, nor would I do a better job at the Genie than Robin Williams), there are definitely a lot of roles I'd love to take my turn at.

John Connor...James Bond...I'd love to be in a Batman film in some role...a couple years ago I got a group of friends to film some scenes of Reservoir Dogs, where I was playing Mr. Pink, and that was a lot of fun....

Really, there's too many roles out there that I'd love to get a shot at. Too many to name. But in general, I like performing in the roles that have a wide emotional range.

Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. I fucking love the dialogue in this movie. I have everything memorized as well. Everything about this movie grabs my interest. It would be a dream come true if I could portray this role.

A little out of the ordinary. But I would also love to tackle the role of playing Johnny Cash in Walk The Line. Being a big Johnny Cash fan it would be very cool to portray him in a movie. To be able to learn what he was all about and then put my own spin on it. That would be epicness personified.

Hmm... this is a great question. I have a couple, though.

Goodfellas - Tommy DeVito. Now, I'm not Italian and I certainly wouldn't have done as good of job as Pesci did with the role, but seriously... how much fun would playing this role be? It would be a fucking blast. I honestly can't think of another role that would've been just as fun. Not to mention working with the likes of Scorsese and De Niro would just be mind-blowing.

Wonder Boys - James Leer. I love this movie. I think it's by far one of the best from this decade. I still feel this was Tobey Maguire best performance, but I also feel like if there is one role I could ever nail perfectly, this one is it. Also, to work with Michael Douglas, Robert Downey Jr., Frances McDormand and the Katie Holmes from that time would be fucking awesome, too. What a dream cast that was. Moreover, Curtis Hanson is one hell of a director and it would've been an honor to work with him as well.

Monster's Ball - Hank Grotowski - Okay, this was only really a decent film at best, but I picked it for three reasons:

1. The sex scene with Halle Berry of course.

2. To work with Heath Ledger.

3. It's a part I would be able to do (granted, I would need some movie magic to make me look older, but it could obviously be done).

However, I would force them to recast Puff Daddy. I wouldn't want to be in anything associated with that ********er. Other then that, this is a movie I would've glad been apart of.

The Stranger Beside Me - Chris Gallagher. You’ve probably never heard of this, but it stars Tiffani Thiessen and the only reason I want this role is so I could play her husband in it, which of course would be awesome. Also, I'm sure it would be fun to play someone who rapes a bunch of girls in the process, lol. That's basically what the movie is about; Tiffani marries a guy she has no clue rapes women in his spare time. It's actually a pretty good film considering it's a TV movie.

Chris McCandless in "Into the Wild." While Emile Hirsch was flawless in his role as the young wanderer, I'd have loved to play this role because I could have seen and felt all the places the guy had travelled. From kayaking on the Colorado River to camping in a disused school bus in the wilderness of Alaska, the experience would have been breathtaking. Great film btw.
