Yes, Dear

Disturbed

Championship Contender
I have seen threads about Everybody Loves Raymond and My Wife and Kids, so I thought I would make this one. Who here on WZ, like the show Yes, Dear. I never watched it when it aired every week but started watching it about six months or so ago on TBS every morning and fell in love with this show. It has to be my all time favorite sitcom. I just find it so entertaining. Greg and Kim have two kids, Sammy and Emily. They are a wealthy family with Kim's sister and her husband living in there guest house. Her sister, Christine and her husband Jimmy are the complete opposite of Greg and Kim. They also have two kids, Dominique and I can't believe I forgot the other kids name at the moment. But Greg is very wealthy and acts like a little girl as his brother-in-law, Jimmy doesn't have much money and is your average joe.

This show is amazing and I could watch it all day. Who else is with me on this?

This was a great show that is very underrated. I never saw it when it aired originally either. I too was introduced to this by TBS a few years ago. A lot of times a television show will feature some sort of unrealistic weird or nerdy character. All the characters in this show are realistic and relatable. I think Greg and Jimmy are actually a lot alike when it comes to personality but it’s their work ethic and accomplishments that make them seem like such opposites. Oftentimes an episode will feature Jimmy trying to make stuck up Greg realize that Greg’s just an average guy like Jimmy is and that’s really not so bad. There are a lot of jokes about how it is actually a tv show kind of breaking the fourth wall in a way. Those are always good for a laugh. Definitely a winner.

Yes, Dear was great. I watched the episode that featured Blues Clues in it when I was younger and nearly cried from laughing. The show is nostalgic for me, I used to watch this and The Drew Carey Show when I got home from school. Never saw the final episode, although I probably don't want to. I hate when shows get canceled before getting a proper ending.

I like this show. Overall it's a good show. However with this show I was always one of those guys that wanted to bash this show. When ever it came on I was like this show is so lame. But somehow I always ended up watch the whole show. I would turn the tv on for a couple of minutes and say only for a couple of minutes but watch the whole show instead. I ended up becoming a fan of the show. Yes Dear definately had me LMAO more than once. My favorite episode/scene was the one where Greg was trying to get rid of all of his college stuff that he kept over the years. He put it in a storage space and became friends with the guy next who always dress as Chewbacca(sp). from Star Wars. At the end of the show when they said goodbye they showed a tribute to all their memories and good times they had together. It was funny.

This was one of my favorite sitcoms in high school. I would watch it all the time I think on MyNetwork. It was one of those rare sitcoms when I didn't need the laugh track to tell me when something's funny. Kim and Christine were hot too.

The other kids name is Logan.

This along with Fresh Prince and Saved By The Bell are the only shows I watch on TBS. I didn't watch it when it first started but it comes on where I live every morning at 8 before I go to school so I watch it and it's very good. It kind of crept up on me and got on my good list of TV shows much like 8 Simple Rules when Ritter was still alive. I love Jimmy and Kim and Christine are attractive so that's always a bonus. My favorite episode would have to be the one where Jimmy was trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.

It's a decent show, good for a few laughs. Kim is hot, definitely has a real milf vibe going.
The best part about the show is the interaction between Jimmy and Greg which is genuinely funny, but after that the show starts to fall off. The children range from mildly amusing to fucking annoying (is there anything that Sam can do right?), and Christine and Kim are generally only funny when making fun of their husbands. The plots of mediocre and sometimes ridiculous, and the show, for whatever reason, prevents you from feeling like you know the cast, which is what makes shows like Friends, The Office, and HIMYM so popular.

Yes Dear is alright. Sometimes it is good and other times it bores me. Though I usually watched it whenever I got home from school because it was on right around that time and there was nothing better to do. Jimmy and Greg really make the show worth watching and Mike O'Malley really plays the role of Jimmy well and makes you buy into him. It ain't a show I'm gonna jump to watch, but if I'm bored and got nothing else to do I'll tune in.

Theo, you're of proper age to remember Nickelodeon Guts. Do you remember that Mike O'Malley was the host? I find it funny that he hosted this game show based on athletic competition, and then he went on to play a fat, lazy slob on a sitcom. You gotta get your start somewhere, right?

The show got significantly less funny when Jimmy and Christine moved out of Greg and Kim's house. The whole mooching concept was what really made the show special, and once it was over it was just another family sitcom with a laugh track.

I never really watched it during it's original run. But watched just about every episode thanks to TBS. I think the show is pretty underrated, it did fairly well in ratings for it's 6 seasons, but it was one of those shows you didn't hear a lot of people talking about. Kim was extremely hot, for being a plain Jane. Jimmy and Christine were funny as hell. Gregg nailed the "nerdy guy" perfectly. I always liked the episodes that featured Jimmy and Gregg's parents. The show was always good for some good laughs. I think two of my favorite one's are, The Big Brother episode were, Jimmy get's onto the Big Brother show, and the one where it was basically flashbacks when Kim and Gregg first dated and Jimmy tried to break them up.

It's an ok show. I've watched it several times when nothing better was on. Although similar to what Theo said, I'm in no hurry to watch it. I find it so hard to believe that the host from Guts is on this show. His character is so different from his Guts host persona. It's cool when people are able to play different types of roles on tv like that. Anyways, Yes Dear is the type of show that you can enjoy if nothing else is on and you're bored because while it doesn't suck, it's nothing to write home about either. I like it enough to watch it when I find it channel surfing, which is honestly a compliment because I don't like a lot of modern shows.
