Yes, ladies and gentlemen, because your life was empty and pointless without this feature, we've decided to bring it back. Fun times!
For those of you who don't know, every round, an expert panel (i.e. Me) ranks the top 15 (too obvious?) wrestlers in WZCW going by criteria of momentum, consistency and continued success, and helps us see who is hot and who is, indeed, not.
This feature is not intended to spark debate or discussion. The way the wrestlers are ranked here is UNDISPUTABLE FACT. Enjoy!
Pre-MD 96, AS 71 & OLS: TM Fantabulous Fifteen:
1. WZCW Champion Barbosa
Could it be anyone else in the number one spot? Barbosa has been on fire for months, and solidified himself as the best wrestler in the company by winning the WZCW title at Redemption. While Ricky Runn poses his own, swagified threat, it's hard to see Barbosa slowing down any time soon.
2. Drake Callahan
Not only a Lethal Lottery winner, Callahan is so good at the moment that, at the last Meltdown, he nearly tore apart the Sacrificial Altar single-handedly until the numbers got the better of him. When (if?) he finally does vanquish the evil faction, you have to believe he'll be going back after the World Title.
3. Mayhem Champion Vega
The man who hopes to be the final Mayhem Champion ever comes in at number 3, and has been consistency personified in recent months. Indeed, it has been so difficult to take the Mayhem title from Vega's grasp, that it took a brand new owner of the company to relieve him of said title. But what happens once the Mayhem title is retired? Has Vega peaked, or will he continue to go from strength to strength? Only time will tell...
4. Elite X Champion S.H.I.T
Ever since the new 7 Defences rule has been put in place, S.H.I.T has thrived. With two successful defences already under his belt, so to speak, S.H.I.T is well on his way to that World Title opportunity. But this week, he faces a big test in Ace Stevens.
4. Steven Kurtesy
Since returning to save Sandy Deserts from Dr. Zeus, Kurtesy has been unstoppable, even beating Zeus at his own twisted game at Redemption. With this kind of form, the good doctor is someone else who will surely be in the World Title hunt before long.
6. Los Magnificos Dragones (El Califa Dragon & Amber Warren)
After dominating the Sacrificial Altar at Redemption, and battling the Tag Team Champions to a no contest on the last Meltdown, LMD are in prime position for a Tag Team title shot. Whether they can make the most of it or not is a different question...
7. Ricky Runn
Though the King of Swag is the number one contender after impressively winning the Gold Rush tournament, his recent record has not been without some speedbumps, with Runn losing to Ace Stevens at the last Aftershock. Runn and his posse will be hoping he can get his momentum back on track before his World Title match.
8. Tag Team Champions Magnitúdinis (Steven Holmes & Celeste Crimson)
Magnitúdinis have barely had the Tag titles for a month and it's already making their life hell. After winning the titles in a controversial fashion, beating the lone Saboteur, Magnitúdinis have had Los Dragones breathing down their necks. Can Magnitúdinis keep their titles for much longer?
9. The Beard
Despite the Beard suffering from a case of 'So near, yet so far' at Redemption, he has still been on an absolute rampage as of late, beating Blade decisively in the Gold Rush semi-finals, then beating Titus at the Meltdown after. It'll be interesting to see who feels the Manly One's wrath next.
10. Ace Stevens
Since returning, the former Mayhem Champion has struggled to find his groove, with good performances but ultimately losing efforts at both Kingdom Come and Redemption. But as he challenges for the Elite X title this week, Ace knows it only takes one win to change everything, and the victory over Ricky Runn at Aftershock might be that game-changing win.
11. EurAsian Champion James Howard
It was a huge victory for James Howard at Redemption as he picked up his first singles title, beating his former best friend Mikey Stormrage in the process. But his reign hasn't had the best start, as he continues to butt heads with Mikey, and lost to Vega on Ascension. As James takes on Mikey one on one at Apocalypse, he'll be hoping to build some momentum and confidence before his first title defence, or else be known as a one-hit wonder.
12. Blade
Blade has slowly but surely been building momentum since his return at the Lethal Lottery, with a strong showing in the Gold Rush tournament and becoming the first entrant in this year's King For A Day after beating Krypto. With this being his first time in a KFAD, Blade will need to be at his best to get his hands on that contract. But where does Triple X come into it?
13. Saboteur
As brief as his Tag Title reign was, the huge fan-favourite Saboteur put on an incredibly tough performance against Steven Holmes and Celeste Crimson at Redemption. And, after showing he can hang with the World Champion Barbosa on Meltdown, big things surely lie in his future, both long and short term.
14. Isabel Stone
Stone has shown in recent months that she is no push over, outlasting seven other competitors at the Redemption Battle Royale, and then putting on a good showing against the Elite X Champion S.H.I.T. If she can figure out her current identity crisis, it may not be long before she gets another shot at some gold.
15. Grizzly Bob
Rounding out the comeback edition of the Fantabulous Fifteen is the Grizzly One! Despite coming up short in the Redemption Battle Royale, Bob still put on a great performance on Aftershock with his friend Haven to defeat the rookie team the Demon Foreigners. With the crowd behind him and an incredible fighting spirit, Bob is making his way up the ladder and may be in line for a title shot sooner rather than later.
Who to keep an eye on: Red Mask, Theron Daggershield, Triple X, Dr. Zeus, Mikey Stormrage.
