WZ Forums Predict: TNA Bound for Glory

The 1-2-3 Killam

Mid-Card Championship Winner
Hey guys. So I've been doing a predictions article with Josh for the past few months, but a friend of his passed away yesterday so I'm letting him off the hook. Thought I would pass the opportunity on to you lovely people. Not to step on the wonderful work our own Forums prediction contest does. Please continue participating in that as well.

What I'm looking for is your predicted winner for a match, and a few sentences about it. You can talk about if you're excited for it, how the build has been, what you want to have happen, etc etc. You don't have to do every match. Later tonight and tomorrow morning I'll go through and take some of the best submissions and throw them together in an article for the main page.

Thanks er'body. Enjoy your weekend!

TNA World Title: Bully Ray vs. AJ Styles

As usual the BFG Series determines the main event of the show and as usual that creates a problem due to a lack of personal reasons for the guys to be fighting. This feels like a pit stop before we get to more of AJ vs. Dixie, which makes me wonder why I should bother caring what happens here. AJ is likely to win, but there's no way he does it cleanly.

X-Division Title: Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe vs. Manik vs. Chris Sabin vs. Austin Aries

This is TNA's answer to the ladder/TLC matches in WWE and while it's entertaining, they're reaching the point where there aren't all that many new spots you can see. The amount of people in the match should help as two can be down while the others can do high spots and thankfully there aren't a ton of people in there. I'll go with Jeff to win as it's Bound For Glory, though Manik keeping the title wouldn't surprise me.

Tag Titles: James Storm/Gunner vs. TBA

I'll go with Hernandez/Chavo Guerrero to win the gauntlet match because TNA wants to bore us to death with their tag matches. I'm surprised Bischoff/Knux aren't in the gauntlet as well as it would seem to be the perfect spot for someone like them. Gunner and Storm should keep the belts, but they haven't done a thing with them yet. That's not their fault though as they're stuck with no good teams to defend against.

Sting vs. Magnus

It's the annual student vs. teacher match and I'm hoping the student wins. However, the worst thing they can do is the most likely outcome: Magnus turns heel to win. TNA's upper midcard is full of heels at the moment and another one isn't going to help anything. Sting doesn't need to win another match in his entire career and a win for Magnus would at least feel like a big deal. Hopefully this ends the Main Event Mafia as there's no point to them being around anymore.

Gail Kim vs. ODB vs. Brooke

It's been over a year since Gail held the title so it's time for her to bore us to death again. Not that it really matters as the winner is just keeping it warm until we get to the Lei'D Tapa reign anyway, no matter how few people care about her at all. The match is likely going to be junk but at least Brooke will look good in her little outfit.

Bobby Roode vs. Kurt Angle

There is zero reason for Angle to win this match. He's going into the Hall of Fame so it's clear that he's accomplished enough already, whereas Roode is someone that could be a big deal in TNA in the future. On top of that, what does it say to have Angle win? Go out and break the law while making the company look bad and get a win at the biggest show of the year in your first match back? Angle can win a match in the feud later but the first should go to Roode.

I thought that already happened? Like, ten month title reign?

Hmph. If Aj styles wins the belt, then maybe I come back.

No, nevermind. The only way to do something worse than run the same umbrella storyline as WWE is to do it with Dixie fuckin' Carter as the centerpiece.

This Roode winning situation is wishful thinking. Kurt is just coming back and are we really supposed to belief that TNA wouldn't give Angle the win.

It's been worse than you can imagine. She calls everybody darlin and the fans are chanting WE WANT HOGAN at her.

They didn't give Sting the win on his HOF induction night.

Ah!! and you all cursed Hogan!!

If there is anything I have learned in the carreer field I have chosen....

things can always get worse. Always.

The best part about it: Dixie bragged that she's great at making people lots of money and put a $50,000 bounty on AJ's head. She opens up a briefcase and it's fake money. It was glorious.

TNA World Title: Bully Ray vs. AJ Styles

I'm looking forward to this one. The storybook ending would be AJ overcoming the odds and winning the World Title but due to this No DQ stip added, I'm not sold on him getting the belt anymore. There is a handful of people who might get involved in this one including EC3, Aces & Eights and Dixie Carter, odds are at least some of them do. In the end I'll take AJ winning due to Knux and Garrett turning on Bully.

X-Division Title: Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe vs. Manik vs. Chris Sabin vs. Austin Aries

This one could steal the show honestly. Hardy being in the X Division for the long haul could be great for him since he's really been doing nothing the last few months. Samoa Joe could also benefit from some time in the X Division since besides the Main Event Mafia, I can't remember the last time he did anything relevant. Hopefully Hardy or Joe win this one while Sabin and Aries continue their feud without the title but I could see Manik winning as well, even if he doesn't deserve it. I'll go with Hardy though.

Tag Titles: James Storm/Gunner vs. TBA

Oh how the mighty have fallen. James Storm looked set to get a world title run shorty after last years Bound For Glory and now he's part of an irrelevant tag team who most likely lose their belts here. As for who faces them I'll go with Bad Influence since EGO is on such a roll right now. Chavo and Hernandez have a shot but they haven't been featured nearly as much lately so I'm thinking they come up short.

Sting vs. Magnus

Sting winning this match would be horrible. The whole point of Magnus's big losing streak is to get him a huge win to end it and that huge win should come right here. I expect a heel turn to do it after Sting survives a finisher. This should be a good match though and hopefully Magnus picks up a clean victory.

Gail Kim vs. ODB vs. Brooke

ODB is pretty worthless and has been for years but TNA seems to love her for some reason. I could see any of the three walking out of this match with the gold but I'll go with ODB to retain and begin feuding with Tapa. Gail seems like the long shot to win this one and Brooke is a heel so I can't see her being the one to feud with Tapa.

Bobby Roode vs. Kurt Angle

The rematch from 2 years ago here. Should be another good match between the two as long as Daniels and Kazarian don't get involved, but they probably will. I'll take Kurt Angle to win this one due to it being his first match back from rehab and it being his Hall Of Fame induction night. But hopefully Roode beats him like he should have in 2011.

I want wins to make sense. I don't think wins mean much of anything, especially among veterans, and I'd much rather see an, A. logical or B. entertaining result. Backstage bullshit means nothing to me as it may relate to wins and losses.

Rooting for drunk Kurt and AJ.

TNA World Title: Bully Ray vs. AJ Styles

I'm expecting AJ to win here. I highly doubt TNA would fuck up his storyline that they've been building for a year. I'm more interested in what happens next though

X-Division Title: Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe vs. Manik vs. Chris Sabin vs. Austin Aries

This is likely to be match of the night. All the guys are athletic enough to pull off an interesting spot each. I expect loads of Holy Shit moments. As to who wins I like all the guys so I don't mind. But I'm suspecting either Hardy (because he's never held it) Sabin (because he seems to be going on a roll) or Manik. I expect Kenny King to interfere and cost Aries it for some reason.

Tag Titles: James Storm/Gunner vs. TBA

I honestly don't care about this match. I love Storm but he's doing bugger all and this adds to it. I suspect he and Gunner will retain.

Sting vs. Magnus

I expect Magnus to snap and beat the crap out of Sting and win

Gail Kim vs. ODB vs. Brooke

I know I'm one of three people who like ODB but I think she should retain and go on to face Tapa. I mean Tapa looks shit in the ring and I still think they should've gone for Veleesz(sp) But ODB is the only Knockout that can really go toe to toe with her

Bobby Roode vs. Kurt Angle

Roode winning would make more sense, but TNA love Kurt Angle so much they might give him the win. Roode winning allows a fued to be built properly. Hoping Roode wins even if it's with help by Kaz & Daniels[/QUOTE]

I was going to be the special guest star of the LD, but my boss called recently and gave me a 9AM class covering for a sick colleague, so no BFG for me. Saves me the trouble of spending an evening trying to find a way to pay for the fuckin' thing.

Nothing's going to top Roode/Storm from last year, which is a shame because both men should clearly be more central to the company if that performance wasn't telling enough. Oh well. BFG is a time when clean slates can arise. Here's parying with both hands clasped they do.

ALL TOGETHER. 1...2...3... NO MORE STABLES CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP!!

Oh fine.

TNA World Title: Bully Ray vs. AJ Styles - There's no reason why AJ shouldn't get one in the W column here. Aces and Eights are totally exhausted, in more ways than one, they never worked that well to begin with and now have literally three members down from about 10? Can't remember. This is the perfect opportunity for Knux and Biscoff to turn on Ray and end this dull facade for the mental well being of all those who've had to suffer them.

AJ has everything going for him. He has promised and has too much on the line if he wins for him to lose. He is back as the premier guy in the company, a spot that he was forced from over three years ago and that he can earn week-in, week-out getting it done in the ring. He needs to win and restore balance to the company and have a good guy on top for a while. Ray has efectively held the title since Lockdown, now it's Styles' turn. He should go full blue/white and get a shave too.

Bobby Roode vs. Kurt Angle - Very skeptical. Once again Roode should win this for the interest of stories and the company going forward. He'll be more of a key player than Angle in the future and this is a time where TNA can consign that confidence in him. He's tried, tested and proven. His reign was perhaps the most luminous period since I began watching TNA in 2009 and he fully demonstrated that he is a top guy through-and-through.

X-Division Title: Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe vs. Manik vs. Chris Sabin vs. Austin Aries - This match is totally overstocked and subsequently s probably the one I'm looking forward to the most in terms of action. Should be immaculate. I can barely pick a winner too. I'll say Sabin if AJ is going to be world champ.

Sting vs. Magnus - Clear cut as it can be and B is totally right. Magnus needs the win here and as a babyface. It needs to be tough, it needs to be hard-hitting and he needs to show his heart and power out of the scorpion death-lock at some point to win. But when he does, he needs to have earnt it.

Gail Kim vs. ODB vs. Brooke - ODB is the most over woman in the division and I see no point any other knockout gaining her title if they are just going to pass it off to Lei'd Tapa soon, which they will. ODB to retain.

Tag Titles: James Storm/Gunner vs. TBA - Can't pick a winner here. No need to. Don't care. Wish TNA had given me a reason to but there you go.
