WWF name

Does anyone know about the WWF name being copyrighted by Vince McMahon and the name coming back? I read that like 3 weeks ago, but haven't heard anything since. I also read like 6 months ago, that Ted Turner's no compete clause would be up in Like October or November and he was considering bringing WCW back. If y'all know anything, please inform us.

When World Wreslting Federation (WWF) had to change thier name to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Instead WWF should have been name World Extreme Championship Wrestling Federation (WECWF)!!!! LOL!!!!!

i dont know if they would change the name back even if they copyrighted it..i heard sumthin along the lines of it...but they certainly wouldnt have to block out the wwf symbol in old footage nemore..although idk if they do that because they want to or have to

Yeah the issue was with the World Wildlife Fund wanting the ever imporant WWF initials. I think Vince was trying to copyright "World Wrestling Federation" in order to make is safe to mention and not have any issues with the World Wildlife Fund finding it "confusing". How people could confuse an endangered species activist group and professional wrestling is beyond me.

And Turner wouldn't be able to bring back "WCW" since Vince owns copyrights on it. But Turner could create a new promotion. Although I think he should buy out TNA and work with it rather than starting from scratch.

absolutely true. Plus, a lot of old casual wrestling fans said they stopped watching watching wrestling when it turns from the WWF to WWE.

even if they could they would not change back to WWF, it is WWE now, its entertainment and thats how Vince feels about it judging by the fact that he hires soap opera writers instead of wrestling writers. it would also be more difficulty than it was worth to change the name back and people have to get used to the name change again trademarc changes logo changes legal name changes and all that stuff. dont expect to ever see WWF again, him getting the trademark was so that they could use the logo on videos and mention WWF without getting in trouble. blurring the logo on all those videos is difficult to do so i bet they would rather not have to do that on every single video considering the thousands of hours of video they have.

I think there only trying to get the WWF name back so they dont have to have that annoying blurr on DVD's and they can actually say WWF.

Yeah it's not even the "World Wildlife Fund" (WWF) anymore, it's the "Wildlife Fund for Nature" (WFN?) It's lame how they fight Vince for so long and then up and change their name. Part of the reason I hate hippies so damn much.

They wont bring back the F even if they have won.. Do you kno how much it would cost them to switch everything back to WWF? Including merchandise, the anenas, etc. Another reason is now theres an entertainment show (raw) and a wrestling show (sd!).. SO theres really no sence to bring back the F.

I hope this means they change the name back, WWF sounds better then WWE. You cant say "THE WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT CHAMPION" World Wrestling Federation is way better in every way and just cause it is just entertainment doesnt mean you gotta have it in your name and shove it down our throughts that its just entertainment, Federation sounds like a company and thats how it should be

I love being stopped in the streets by being asked for donations to the WWF (World Wildlife Fund), lol. My reply is always along the lines of how rich the wrestlers are anyway yet they still want more money off us. It sends the charity begger mad being told that. Lol

WWE should now always remain WWE, i prefer WWF still, but it wont ever change back. It would cost WWE too much money in merchandise to change again.
