WWF Brawl for All

Anyone remember this shootfighting tournament? Personally, I'd love to see it brought back. Also, does anyone have any videos of it as YouTube doesn't have any, and I'd like to get some.

The finals of the tournament were Bradshaw vs. Bart Gunn, with Gunn winning. I think the only two participants still with the company are JBL and Hardcore Holly. Think they'd win such a tournament today? Doubt it. But I'd love to see it again to test how the likes of John Cena would do in a true fight.

This to me was always a bad idea. The fans couldn't get into it. During the matches, chants of we want wrestling could clearly be heard. It was an interesting concept, but it was a shoot tournament, and the worst guy possible, Bart Gunn won it. His career after this I believe consisted of getting his ass handed to him by Butterbean at Mania 15. As for today, can't picutre it coming back unless the rules were heavily altered and it was pretty much mma. If I were WWE I'd stay far away from that. Just not their cup of tea.

I agree...if they were to do this again, it would be midcarders only...(keep in mind, JBL was just a midcarder during the original) But, theoretically, assuming top talent, including JBL, not participating, I would probably look at someone like Fit Finlay winning it, who just strikes me as a legit badass...unless Santino Marella's background in MMA is deeper than I have heard, in which case, he might be a dark horse candidate to surprise people.

the thing that made brawl for all interesting was its shoot nature but you can't expect wwe to compromise their product by telling everyone (what we already know of course) that the programme we have been watching is not real

I made a thread like this a year ago. The Brawl For All was awesome. Who doesn't want to watch poor fighters throw punched like they're fighting a gand of gypsies? I don't give a shit if it highlighted that wrestling is predetermined. Couldn't care less. Without the Brawl For All we wouldn't have had that awesome TKO at Mania 15. We would also probably still have Savio Vega on the Roster. He got injured in the thing, and never came back. Thank you.

Done right it could give fans a reason to like somebody. I always liked Bart more than Billy. True story. On a side not, why was Bart never given the push that you would have assumed Dr. Death would have got?

While I thought the Brawl for all was a good idea in concept it did not work out real well at the finish. But if they did bring it back it would be a great way for some of the low-mid card guys to maybe get some tv time and get better gimmicks off the deal. I would love ta see that "one punch" Chuck Palumbo's that Foley is talking about. How about Elijah Burkes background or maybe even the Big Show, while he was out wasn't he training as a boxer. I really don't think that JBL or Holly would do that great at this point in the WWE, just to many people with legit, limited but legit, backgrounds.
