I know that these sorts of threads have been done before but, for some strange reason, these particular matches just popped into my head today. I know it's pure fantasy booking and it has as much chance of coming to pass as John Cena has for winning an Oscar, but it's harmless fun. There'd just have to be some champion vs. champion matches on the card and some that I think would just be fun to see.
WWE Tag Team Champions vs. TNA World Tag Team Champions: Air Boom vs. Mexican America - I'm not a big fan of Mexican America but they are the current champs and I do think they'd have a decent match with Air Boom. A nice mesh of styles with speed & agility vs. size & strength.
WWE Divas Champion vs. TNA Knockouts Champion: Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James - As far as a women's match goes, this is probably as good as it gets among female wrestlers who are actually well known. These two actually had some good matches in WWE and I've little doubt they'd give a solid match. I know Beth isn't currently the Divas Champion, I'm just expecting that to change tomorrow night.
WWE Intercontinental Champion vs. TNA X Division Champion: Cody Rhodes vs. Austin Aries - I think this would be an extremely good match up with these two wrestlers currently holding each company's original mid-card title.
WWE United States Champion vs. TNA Television Champion: Dolph Ziggler vs. Eric Young - Probably wouldn't be much of a match but these guys are title holders. They're quite capable of pulling off a good match if EY ditched the lame comedy stuff.
WWE Champion vs. TNA World Heavyweight Champion: John Cena vs. Kurt Angle - This would definitely be a money match and would be far better than what some would want to admit.
The Miz vs. Bobby Roode - I think this would be a very fun match and I like the dynamic of an IWC favorite like Bobby Roode going against one of the IWC's most hated. Roode's on his way to the main event scene in TNA while Miz was the main event scene in WWE for the first half of 2011.
Christian vs. Cowboy James Storm - For me, this sort of match is a potential show stealer. Both of these guys have just simply got all the tools necessary to pull off a great match or even sustained feud with just about anyone.
John Morrison vs. Chrisopher Daniels - Just a fun, fast paced match featuring a couple of athletic guys that often show moments of brilliance inside the ring.
Mark Henry vs. Matt Morgan - I think a battle of the big men is appropriate here. I thought about going with Abyss but I think Morgan would give Henry a more competitive match. Morgan's a big, athletic man and Henry's just raw brute strength. It won't be a classic, but I think they'd give some solid action with some good storytelling.
CM Punk vs. AJ Styles - This match would almost certainly steal the show. It's an internet fan's dream match and has the potential for a classic in-ring confrontation written all over it.
Daniel Bryan vs. Samoa Joe - I thought about putting Joe against Punk given their history in ROH but I like the idea of two wrestlers who use a lot of submissions and general MMA tactics in their matches. Again, this is a match that could be a potential show stealer.
Randy Orton vs. Mr. Anderson - Two guys that just simply legitimately do not like each other. It'd be interesting to see them in the ring and I have a feeling that fans would definitely bee emotionally invested in this.
The Undertaker vs. Sting - We've all wanted to see this and we'd all mark out if it ever happened. Out of all the various legends that we'd want to see have a match, this one would probably top everyone's list. We were practically drooling over it when it seemed as though Sting had signed with WWE early this year. Taker & Sting are probably the two most respected men in wrestling today and could probably tell a story in the ring that'd leave a lot of us breathless.
Well, that's my supershow. I'm sure there are a few interesting match combinations I missed. I purposely left out the WHC and decided to put Angle vs. Cena as it's definitely a money match and the WWE Championship is THE original World Championship in WWE.
