WWE Summerslam 2013 - Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn VS Big E. Langston & AJ Lee

YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!!!!
Tonight's episode of SmackDown!, particularly the Miz TV segment, the mixed tag match I was expecting since the events of Raw this past Monday was officially made part of SummerSlam. Ziggler teams with Kaitlyn to take on Big E. & AJ. Not exactly sure how Miz as the "official host" of SummerSlam has any sort of authority to make a match, but it's not really important.

As for the match itself, I'm not really expecting a barnburner by any stretch. I think it'll be a solid outing overall for what it is, which really just seems to be a means of continuing this feud that intertwines Ziggler, Kaitlyn & AJ. It might surprise me and be much better than I'm expecting, as we've seen a lot of that where Kaitlyn & AJ are concerned.

I think the babyfaces come out with a win here as AJ seems to have all the momentum, so it's time to even things out a bit.

Not exactly sure how Miz as the "official host" of SummerSlam has any sort of authority to make a match, but it's not really important.

I think they're treating him like when The Rock was the "host" of WrestleMania and had the match making ability to restart the match.

As for the actual tag match itself I'm strongly thinking they'll have the face team win as it makes sense and there's no real reason why the heels need a victory. If the Diva's title was on the line I may have changed my opinion but seeing as it's not right now I think this will be a good way to have Kaitlyn get "revenge" without having a title change. On the other hand I feel bad for Langston losing at the big PPV but I think Dolph NEEDS it way more at this point.

Oddly enough I see this as the opening match and I think that it will feature the Divas actually taking up the majority of the match. I also see AJ splitting from Big E after this.

I agree the faces NEED the victory here. However, I wonder if Layla will be at ringside with AJ and Big E? Her presence could mean interference and a victory for the heels. Interestingly, I had this penciled in weeks ago, I thought it would make for a good summer slam match and get them all on the card. Since we have seen numerous one on ones, I figured another AJ vs Kaitlyn PPV title match would not happen, and their feud needs to come to a close, at least for the time being. Dolph also needs to move on to something else and get back on a winning track. I really hope this match brings these storylines to a close and we see them all move on to something new. I do wonder who they will use as the next challenger to AJ? They really have not done anything to start building another diva up as her next feud.

Langston has a one on one victory over Ziggler and I think they've made this an intergender match basically so Kaitlyn can get her revenge without winning the title, and so Langston didn't have to get pinned by Ziggler, making him look weak. I think Kaitlyn will pin AJ while Ziggler and Langston are fighting outside, probably Langston getting the better of him to make him look like a beast still, or even Ziggler taking him out with some dangerous move. Then Kaitlyn spears AJ, gets her revenge, Ziggler wins gets his revenge, AJ gets to keep her title and Langston doesn't look weak since he didn't get pinned and would get dq'd if he touched a woman so he can't attack Kaitlyn.

I'd have much preferred Ziggler vs Big E in a singles match but this exists so Kaitlyn can get her revenge without taking the title off AJ, and so Big E doesn't take a pin as I think he'll turn face immediately after Summerslam and WWE don't want him being pinned fresh in peoples minds as they try to make him what Ryback failed to be.

It sucks for Dolph as he's essentially just making up the numbers here, but he should be used to the tough breaks by now.

Kaitlyn & A.J. deserve to get a match on a big show. Ziggler & Langston less so. In fact, I'm not sure why Ziggler & Langston still have jobs. There isn't a word to describe how dull Ziggler is and nobody has been that large and yet looked so unintimidating like Langston since Prince Albert made his debut.

I'm sure it'll be solid. Nobody will care though, this goes on just before the main event so people can have a piss without missing one of the proper matches.

Face it. Dolph Ziggler's face turn ISN'T WORKING.

I like Dolph, but he's a natural heel. As a face, he's slowly going down the same path as Del Rio and Miz did when they made their face turns.

But it's not too late to get Dolph back on the right track. Back to where he was in April when he cashed in.

Technically, he never truly turned face. It was more like Del Rio turned heel. And he's mostly been running away from Langston every time they've encountered each other. That's a heel move.

I say have the Show Off NO SHOW the mixed tag match at Summerslam. His music hits, but he doesn't show up. Kaitlyn is left on her own and AJ's team gets the win.

Later, we get a backstage interview with Dolph where he cuts a cocky promo explaining that he has nothing to gain teaming with Kaitlyn. He deserves better. The only time he wants to be on the mat with 2 women is if it's in his bedroom. Not in the ring.

Then on RAW, he attacks newly crowned champion Daniel Bryan (if he is indeed champion that is). Dolph and Bryan could have a 3 month feud over who's the real break out star of 2013, while Cena fights the Wyatts.

I would have Dolph focus on the WWE Title because the World Championship has become too convoluted after they played hot potato with the title between Del Rio and Dolph. Dolph needs to forget about that title and start fresh with a clean slate.

The longer you make Dolph a smiley babyface who cares about Kaitlyn's well being, you're only going to drag him down further into Miz territory. It's not too late to fix this.

AJ v Kaitlyn could have had a singles match but I guess we have seen that several times. Moreover, Ziggler v Langston doesn't quite have the hype surrounding it so combining the two matches is a good idea.

I'm not sure on the winner, I wouldn't be shocked to see Big E lose and then have AJ snap allowing Langston to pursue a singles career. It will be a ok match but nothing special. It will probably end this feud which has been of a high quality, time for AJ, Big E and especially Ziggler to move on.

I also would have rather seen Kaitlyn vs AJ in a singles match. Ziggler as a face isn't working for me, but I could definitely see him scoring the win and AJ splitting from Big E. I honestly have no real interest in this match, and I hope they get it out of the way first.

Maybe afterwards we can get Dolph and Kaitlyn together(going to not get a good reaction for saying that) I've been wanting them together since back in NXT, now I also I want Dolph alone so if they can find some way to make it work then I'm all for it. She doesn't have to help him win matches, just sit out at commentary or something and support him and that way he still winning on his own, he can do promos on his own backstage if needed and in the ring, only have her with him at match time where she doesn't play much of a role in the match.

As far as this match goes I'm looking forward to it because the second Dolph split from AJ I was hoping for this match, I think Dolphlyn will do great together even if it is for one night only.

I'm prett sure this match is to finally give Kaitlyn her pay-off while keeping the strap on AJ. I'm excited for it. Hopefully Kaitlyn/AJ end the match since their program has been more built up.

I like this match. Ziggler and Langston need to settle their issues but a singles match between the two does not interest me at all. These four all fit in together and a mixed tag makes perfect sense. Plus it keeps the token Diva’s title match off the card freeing up space for better matches.

Things aren't looking good for Ziggler....again. Just as it was with Vickie, as soon as Dolph started to break away from AJ, his momentum fizzled. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if Dolph wasn't in front of such a super smarky crowd, when he cashed in on Del Rio, he would've never received such a reaction. As time passes, it's becoming more and more clear Ziggler can't make it/cut it on his own.

So considering all of that, and the way the storylines are going, I say Dolph and Kaitlyn walk out with the win, because they need it more. It's about time Dolph and Kaitlyn (especially Kaitlyn) get some payback for all the hell AJ put them through. And personally I don't really care either way, but merging both storylines into this tag match was a better idea than going with Langston VS Ziggler one on one or AJ VS Kaitlyn for the Divas Championship. The AJ/Kaitlyn feud is losing a lot of steam, and going by the matches they've had on TV, there's barely any interest in Dolph VS Langston from the live crowds.

That makes sense, because while we know all about Dolph vs. Big E and how A.J. fits into it, they're really reaching to team Dolph and Kaitlyn, especially with their initial pairing coming at a major PPV. I can't recall seeing the two in the ring at the same time before.

It points to how directionless the diva division has been. There have been inklings that suggest this is about to change and if the "Totally Divas" show becomes a catalyst to adding some zest to the gal's storylines, it would be great. Of course, A.J. and Kaitlyn have nothing to do with the show, but they're the closest to having a story behind what they do. If the show compels Creative to write things for the Bellas and Natalya in addition to the others, the entire division might benefit.

this match makes me mad. i no wwe could do somthing better with the 3rd biggest ppv of the year. this is a joke match with i will prob fast forward throu witch sux because ppv cost a lot. that being said the faces will win but no one will care. shut down divsa divishion please.

Its a good time filler I suppose and both matches make sense and combining them makes even more sense considering Ziggler/AJ's break up.

Ziggler's and Kaitlyn should get the win, Ziggler needs it to solidify his face run and maybe start pushing back towards the WHC scene, Kaitlyn can get another shot at AJ without having to win the title back.

I cannot say that I am all too interested in this match, but at least the Divas Champion is on the card. I'd much rather AJ and Kaitlyn have gotten another title match instead of this. Ziggler SUCKS as a face, he needs to turn heel again. I've tried very hard to give his face turn a chance but I just can't support him in the role. Langston is boring as hell. It really should have been just the two girls in the match by themselves, and I find it odd to say that, but it would be more entertaining than this. It will likely be a mess as wrestler/diva tag team matches often are.

AJ and Langston need the win more than Dolph and Kaitlyn do. AJ is the only one in the match holding a title at the moment. If anyone needs momentum going forward, it's her. I think it will be one of the first matches of the night. Maybe not the opener necessarily, but it probably goes on second or so. It won't be the worst of the night, although it certainly won't steal the show either. I hope it exceeds my expectations, which it might. Both the divas feud and the conflict between Dolph/Langston will probably continue after Summerslam. AJ and Kaitlyn I can see having their final match (for now) at Night of Champions with AJ ultimately winning the feud in the end. Langston and Ziggler will probably feud with each other a little longer too. AJ and Langston will win.

DAGGER'S PREDICTION
AJ and Big E Langston will defeat Kaitlyn and Dolph Ziggler.

I'm pretty sure Dolph and Kaitlyn are winning this one as it seems like the way to go to end the feud between all 4 superstars. I discuss it in detail in my prediction vid that I just posted up.

I don't care at all for this match, I don't have big expectations from this one, the only thing I can think of is that AJ and Big E. wins making in the next Raw or so a single match Ziggler vs Big E, where Ziggler wins.

Boring match but oh well, let's hope Ziggler after this one makes more interesting things.

This had the near impossible task of following the Punk/Lesnar epic but I thought Dolph and Big E did what JR likes to say and "Maximized their minutes." Their exchanges were fast paced and athletic and to their credit Dolph and Kaityln got a nice ovation from the crowd after their win.
