WWE Fastlane - Sami Zayn VS Samoa Joe

Jack-Hammer

YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!!!!
Following an attack from Zayn after his victory over Cesaro last night on Raw, it was officially announced that Joe will face Zayn at Fastlane.

Joe has been nothing short of great as this dangerous "destroyer" since hitting the main roster, there's a genuine aura of badass surrounding him at this point, and having him face Zayn as his first ppv challenge is a perfect fit given that Zayn is the passionate, scrappy underdog who knows no fear.

There's very little chance Zayn comes out the winner and that's the way it should be in my opinion. As we saw with Braun Strowman, Zayn can come out of his program with Joe looking better than when he entered it by putting on a strong display of guts and ability against Joe.

You know though, I understand why Joe needs to win this one, but when was the last time Zayn won anything? Last I remember was his victory over Owens at Battleground.

Joe already made an impressive debut by beating Reigns and taking out Rollins.

I might be in the minority here, but I believe that an upset victory for Zayn over Joe is more important and could lead the feud forward. Joe could end up winning the whole feud in the end, but Zayn needs some victories under his belt for time to time.

Technically, he beat Strowman at Roadblock. He beat Rusev two weeks ago. And maybe 4 weeks ago he beat Jericho to get an opportunity at the U.S championship.

As for as Joe vs Zayn at Fastlane, Joe should win. I really want to see Joe be given an undefeated streak, just not as forced as Charlotte's ppv streak.

The only way Zayn should win, is if wwe are actually planning on doing a Joe/Owens/TripleH stable. Zayn being the main guy feuding with those three heading into Wrestlemania, could potentially create a new main event face.

I'm interested to see this match. The story has been built for making me intrigued about it.

No way should Sami Zayn win this match. Nope. It affects Samoa Joe badly if Sami Zayn defeats him in his PPV debut in WWE. He's a destroyer.

Let Zayn give his everything and still make Joe win the match. Joe shouldn't lose at any case. It would be totally illogical.

Sami Zayn doesn't need to win this match. Sami Zayn is in a strange position that he doesn't actually need to win any match really. The fans are very much behind him, even though he has been booked like shit since coming to Raw. He deserves a run with a title and to put some wins together but Joe needs this win more.

After everything that Joe has been through and said over the last couple of weeks on Raw, there is absolutely no way that he doesn't leave Fastlane with the win. Zayn is great face foil for any heel to get over and Samoa Joe is no different. In some ways, I'm glad that Joe injured Rollins because I'm positive that would have been the plan instead of Zayn, and there's no way that Rollins would have lost that encounter. Instead, Joe gets a somewhat easier opponent, Zayn gets a decent PPV match for a change, and Joe gets to win this first match on a WWE PPV and comes out of the event looking strong regardless. It's pretty decent booking, if totally predictable.

I think this will be the show stealer. To me, this match can't miss. So glad Joe is on the main roster. There are so many interesting matchups out there for him, and this is certainly one of them.

There was that time, way, way back, when he kept Seth Rollins out of the Royal Rumble.

Yeah there's no reason for Zayn to win this. That would be as illogical as Jericho beating Styles last year.

Jericho beating Styles was the right call. It re-established Chris's credibility from a kayfabe perspective. His runs had grown far too predictable. This has easily been his best run since 2008-10. Beating Styles was a big part of it. It made him a real factor (again, kayfabe wise) this time. And it didn't hurt Styles at all. They've both had great years.

This is the match I'm most looking forward to and could easily steal the show.

Samoa Joe should definitely win. He is being treated like a big deal and needs some clean wins on his record.

Sami Zayn doesn't lose anything if he loses. He'll still be over, and it would fit his underdog character.

I can agree about reestablishing Jericho's credibility. He lost to Fandango of all people at Wrestlemania a few years ago. That's not where he belongs.

But him going over AJ Styles didn't make sense. Even more when AJ Styles won a No. 1 contender match the next night of Wrestlemania.
