WWE Didn't Know Exactly What Punk Was Going To Say?

Sources report that CM Punk’s entire promo at the end of RAW this week was improvised by Punk and not scripted. Nobody in the back knew what Punk was going to say until he said it live on RAW.

WWE officials told Punk to go out and say in his own words why he was leaving the company, why he wanted the WWE Title and why he wanted to leave with it in his possession. There was a discussion that when officials felt Punk was going too far, they would pull the plug on the segment and cut his mic.

It’s said that Punk was upset months ago when Triple H came back to feud with The Undertaker and while some of his comments on RAW towards Vince McMahon were well thought out to appear not as a shoot to the average viewer, most believe that Punk’s comments towards Triple H and John Laurinaitis were strictly a shoot.

Word also is that Punk had some notes for his speech jotted down on his wrist tape.

As far as his contract status, Punk’s deal apparently expires the second week of July but he signed an extension to work through Money in the Bank. Still with last night’s new storyline development, sources maintain that Punk is leaving at Money in the Bank. -NoDq

This sounds about right. Kind of half scripted/half un-scripted. The type where it was left in the wrestlers hands that everyone enjoys (the only thing I don't like about this is that these promos can't be influential unless you make it personal and then the story can not really go further from their because wrestling is in fact fake.)

I'm not sure if it was or not. I doubt they would just let Punk say what he wanted to say, esspecially if they're not sure if he'll stay. And if it wasn't fake, the mic would've gotten cut a lot sooner.

Regardless, I'm sure doubt Vince is mad, considering how praised Punk is getting by everyone. And I think because of how well that was selled, that they just improvised the whole suspension and removing his pages and stuff to make it even better.

I'm sure the entire backstage area is in love though. But we'll never know whether it was fully scripted or not.

If you watch the clip Punk puts up his arm in what I am guessing is the signal to cut his mic.

That's a pretty big assumption. If it wasn't real then I have no idea why WWE let him do it. I thought it was scripted/planned up until he talked about hhh/stephanie and vince

You can see when Punk's walking close to the Ring, I think he has got stuff written on his right tape, not too sure.

I do believe that he totally didn't tell anyone what he was gonna say, which made it all that bit better.

The que to cut Punk's mic is 1) Start with Vince and 2) mention the anti-bullying campaign.
"You want to know a personal story about Vince(now they're ready to cut), talk about this bully camp...."

That's not just a guess btw, that's what the people who contact those in WWE said.

Vince OK'd Punk to say whatever he wanted and Punk was to que them to cut it when he mentioned the anti-bully campaign.

I think it's finally about time that they start doing storylines that reference WWE being a scripted show, breaking the fourth wall, etc.
