Of course I have. That was RZA and GZA pre Wu-Tang. They both tried the solo thing in the early 90's and both flopped.

These songs are so great, I love the Prince Rakeem one especially, I listen to it almost every day. Those albums are also very underrated, especially GZA's debut album.

RZA didn't release a whole album just an EP with a few songs on it. Both projects were solid but no where near what they were capable of. Thank god they flopped, otherwise the Wu-Tang Clan may not have existed

You could really tell their hearts weren't in those songs, and that wasn't their style at all. And yes, thank god for those albums flopping.

RZA and GZA had to fight with the record labels they were signed to at the time. The labels didn't want to do any promotion for them, and generally fucked them over. Damn good thing that shit failed. I know RZA wrote about this time in the Tao of Wu, I'll have to check on it and see what exactly went down again.

Very dope read, The Wu Manual was pretty damn good as well, but RZA's personal thoughts went deep in Tao of Wu. I will say reading those two books, you listen to Wu Tang in a completely different way.

Good thread, man. I did hear the Shaq song before, but then again I have all his albums. My Brother once tried playing a joke on me and borrowed "Shaq Diesel" from a Library. I played the damn thing for weeks and never let him return it. Jokes on him.
