Wrestlers from Down Under????

As an Aussie who love his wrestling I was curious to know if there was any current Australian wrestlers out there who are either in WWE, TNA, ROH or some US indie circuit...

Given that as far as I can recall the only Aussies to make it to the big time were Outback Jack in the 80's and Nathan Jones in recent times..

Any info would be great to know...

No. I think a Aussie competed in a NWA tournament a few years back and wrestled Danielson and Devitt but recently no.

There are some decent Indy promotions in Australia, but no current wrestler in the states, the most recent is probably... Nathan Jones

i think Nathan Jones is the only major guy we have put out. .. Where is he anyways the last i heard he had signed with TNA and was in rehab from an accident.

It does seem strange that a country that is a very "active" nation, with very successful sports teams (Athletics, Cricket, Rugby League, Rugby Union etc) has never really produced any big name professional wrestlers. WWE is popular over there, so it does seem a bit odd to me.

Anyone know the reason? Is there not many small wrestling companies over there?

Actually, there is one wrestler that is quite successful around the world at the moment and her name is Madison Eagles. She is currently the SHIMMER Champion and is competing in several indy promotions around the States. She is the closest thing we have to getting an Aussie wrestler to go mainstream.

We've got some indy promotions going around like PWA and AWF, but they don't get much exposure at all. I guess it's just a matter of people preferring sport sports over fighting sports.
