Wrestlers Dying...

Ever since the Benoit tragedy I dont believe anything can shock me anymore in Pro Wrestling. Of course nobody wants it to happen but when they started dropping like flies starting around what 02/03? It just becomes numb to you. Then after the whole Benoit deal your like "wait no this didn't happen but you know it did" a couple months after it I just didn't gaf anymore and part of me as a fan died. I cant help but to kinda be nervous before every raw/smackdown ect I watch to see a in memory graphic. Part of my loathes Wrestlers that still juice up, especially someone like Chavo/Rey after what happened to Eddie and Steroids being a contributing factor in having a bad heart, part of me thinks they dont give a sh*t about what happened but hopefully im wrong.

I don't think I am numb to wrestlers dieing. Now if Scott Hall or Jake the Snake had an overdose then that wouldn't surprise me. I wouldn't be happy but I wouldn't be shocked. A tragedy like Owen Hart's death or the Benoit murders were shocking. Even though we have seen and heard stories about wrestlers overdosing, nothing could of prepared me for what happen with Benoit. Especially with Owen. I think either Owen or Brian Pillman's deaths were the first times I ever heard about a wrestler dieing prematurely.

Basically I'm not shocked to hear of a drug abuser's overdose in wrestling, just like I'm not surprised by a drug abuser who overdosed in the music industry. It's not pretty but it will continue to happen. No matter what "policies" WWE has in place, old habits die hard. Drugs and Alcohol have been in the wrestling business since the beginning. They pretty much go hand in hand. Lets just hope that people will be able to get the help they need before its too late.
