Wrassler, or MMA fighter??

Mighty NorCal

SHALL WE BEGIN?
So, after being recruited for ROH wrasslin school, I got approached at the gym by a dude saying they are starting an MMA team for the state/area I live in, and he wants me to come train with them. Its about 90% cheaper than ROH school, and fits into my schedule about 100X better.

So guys, what should I do?? Remeber I have little to no fighting training, aside from 1 year karate, and 2 years ameatuer wrestling, and some basic hand to hand combat choke holds I learned in training for my job....

I'd do MMA, what's better than kicking someone's ass for real which = Chicks? Plus, you are pretty small, which would make more sense since wrestling is about the roided up monsters, and cheaper? Fuck yea.

MMA IMO.

Tis true. Im leaning that way too. Even if I suck, I could still learn ways to fucking destroy people, ya know?? And WAY cheaper

2,200 > 39.95

Plus wrasslin school is 100 miles away. MMA school is 10 miles away. just sayin.

I currently train Muay Thai and jujitsu and can tell you that for guys our size its fantastic. When I worked at GNC one of our bodybuilder employees who weighed close to 275 lbs went apeshit on everyone threatening to beat them. Everyone except me of course. People will always talk shit about the little guy and its nice to have some of those big guys know that thats all they are, big (except the ones who can actually fight).

Also, i think one of the best things about training MMA is that you get "humbled" so to speak pretty quick. You are never the toughest guy around so keeping your mouth shut becomes a habit pretty quickly. The best part is the people who are better than you (AKA the guy who just wooped your ass) are always will to help you get closer to their level. I'll never forget one of my first times fighting a purple belt, he beat me in a little over one minute and right after words where you would expect someone to brag he just told me how he beat me and how to defend it. Its all about respect and improving yourself which will translate to other things in your life.

Not being harsh. But I doubt you have any chance of making it as either. But MMA is the better option. It's better to be hard than to pretend to be hard.

No offense taken, I actually appreciate honest feedback....But why do you feel that way?? I mean not making it in wrestling is something I totally understand, and mostly agree with, by why not fighting?? Lack of training??

When I say make. I mean UFC. Purley because what are the chances of somebody I've conversed with over the internet becoming a big star?

Truer words were never spoken sir.

And I have no intentions on making UFC or anything. Its more like regional club competition. If im good at that, thatll be success to me, really.

I was great at Kickboxing. I really wish I'd kept up with it. I doubt I'd be able to get good at it again.

Ive always got by with just slamming people on their heads, and choke holds. Im ninja strong. IE sneaky strong. Im not real large, but absurdly strong for my size.

I'm strong I guess. But I'm pretty big so I should be.

But I don't start fights. I just get in them. So while somebody is ranting or threatening me. I'm calmly thinking weather I should break their nose or knock them out.

no person has EVER directly started a fight with me.

FACT

But I also always just manage to get into fights. A lot of people here like to fight like *****es, and jumo people with numbers. so all my fights have been coming to the aid of outnumbered friends, or females getting half (or full) raped at parties/clubs, and of course my fun little encounters that happen becuase of my work abroad LOL

Where I go for drinks it's populated by gangs. Yet nobody starts on Team Jake as a whole. But if you go to the toilet or walk home on your own they appear to want a fight.

crazy how that works LOL. sounds like the place I grew up.

And actually I lied. I used to get jumped ALL THE TIME as a kid. But I wouldnt call those "fights" so much as "6 older black kids kick the shit out of me for no reason"

I've been given a kicking a couple of times. But it's always by local. They always give this '';I know where you live'' shit. They don't. Nobody can find my house. But I can easily find out where they live. It's strange how they're not as tough as they think once you've paid a visit to their house and told their parents.

just goes to prove my logic.

roughly 1 out of every 1000 people are REALLY what they present themselves as, and totally mean all they say. 999 times out of 1000, if you step up to someone acting hard, the will back down. because fighting hurts

FACT

I don't mind fighting. I can take a bit of pain. If some dick wants to start a fight he can. If his mates want to get involved. My bigger harder mates will too.

I think its different in england, were scrapping is still somewhat honorable. Most people are totally bitch made out here. At least thats what ive experienced....

I guess it is.

I don't see what's the big deal with football hooligans. Each side wants a fight, so let them. They should just incorporate some gent rules. No head stomping, no weapons. Let the police watch over so nobody crosses the line. They could even put it on TV.

true story. ive always been about letting people fight if they want to. get the agression out. people have been doing it for thousands of years. as long as no one gets killed or disabled, fuck it, let em go crazy.

That would make a great TV show

Fighting is pointless outside of the gym. If you win a fight in a bar or out on the street you get...nothing. I am confident in my abilities and never feel the need to brag or show off to others. If someone calls me a pussy because I won't fight them thats fine by me.

Here in Minneapolis it gets a little hard sometimes because North Minneapolis is the "tough" part of town and people think they are automatically tough shit if they live there. They have no respect for any martial arts what so ever. My friend is a boxer and someone got in his face. When my friend put his hands up the guys laughed at how he was standind. It didn't matter when my friend blocked probably 15 or so punches then shoved the guy to the floor and walked away. Nothing is funnier than these punk ass thugs who have no reason to act tough. They don't train or even work out, they just woke up one day and decided they were tough.
