Would You Rather Be...

Occasional Pre-Show
This is the start of a new series I'm hoping to get underway. In each edition I'll give you two options, and it could range from scenarios to specific wrestlers (i.e. Would you rather be HBK or Undertaker?), but to start it off, I'll ask what I think is an interesting one:

WOULD YOU RATHER BE...

1. A mid-carder in the WWE, traveling and making money whilst plying your trade in front of a much larger and international audience...

or...

2. A main-eventer, World Champion, or "star" at TNA? Granted, you'd obviously be making much less money while performing for a smaller audience.

By Mid Carder would you win mid card/tag team titles?

But I'd be a Mid Carder. It would amaze me just travelling around and showing everyone what I have to a larger audience.

i would rather be neither...

i would rather be someone in my mid to late 20s who has been wrestling since my late teens and has crafted my trade for a long time now. someone who wrestles in Japan frequently and also travels around to places like PWG & ROH to wrestle. As well as taking part in some of the best indie wrestling tournaments.

For me, this is a no-brainer. Mid-carder in WWE.

Several reasons, but the ability to travel and entertain large crowds would be enough for me. But also, I'd be able to make a bigger name for myself if I hung around for a long enough time. Hopefully, I'd be good enough that people wanted more for me.

After a few years, I'd be able to save up money and THEN go to TNA and request more money for signing with them. If I got over there, I'd have a lot of different opportunities.

Just makes sense to me.

definitely a mid carder in wwe. i would probably make the same money and the morale seems so much better in the wwe. plus, imagine performing at wrestlemania.

TNA. A much lighter house-show and touring schedule, I'd be able to wrestle for other companies on the side if that's possible in my contract makes it all a no-brainer.

Everyone wants to be in WWE but, I'd have to go with TNA on this one.

You get to be one of the top dogs and while you still would make less money than if you were in WWE, I'm sure the top guys in TNA would have a pretty good life, nice homes, be earning pretty good money and TNA still do travel the world so I would still be able to perform all over the world, they came to Australia just last year. Also the point about being able to work non TNA shows would be great too, pick up some extra money after filming a couple of weeks of TV shows. Better life style with a more comfortable travelling schedule.

It's a no brainer.

I'd rather be in TNA because I would be able to: work a lighter schedule, be sloppy in the ring, overpayed, and get to be a giant druggie and still get pushed to the sky while in legal troubles (although I'd keep in RVD style and just spliff the green). But yeah, totally a no-brainer. TNA is the place to be if you don't give a fuck and just want some cash.

See for me it doesn't make a difference what company I would be in, all I would want is the right push off my talents. If I show that I'm worth having a title then give me the title & not the world title if I haven't had the chance to carry any of the other strips.

In my mind the perfect wrestling career would be for me to start at the bottom & work my way up having the chance to be a Tag Champ & IC or US Champ. I would love to be a mid carder for about 3 to 4 years w/memorable feuds & matches. I would want my title reigns to be lengthy, I wouldn't want them to be short & have a high number of reigns. See If I was really over w/the crowd & had some drawing power I would want to main event 1 Mania as a mid carder & come up short showing that despite being over & good I'm not that good yet so that way when I was given the chance again it would mean I worked even harder to become champ.

I know everyone wants to be the main guy, but if WWE would have told me that they wanted to drop the stripe on my like how they did w/Sheamus & others before I was really ready, I would have told them no this is not how I want me career to start out in your company it's nice you have some kind of faith in me, but let me move up the racks the right way. Personally I don't like being given anything I have to work for it & show you that I should be at the top.

Like I said before it wouldn't matter what company I rise to the top at, just think if you was in TNA & you was so good that you help rise the value of the company to the point where it was real competition for the WWE you would go down in history as being what Hogan was to the E years ago. Now on the other hand if I'm in the E well I just work hard & rise to the top in the best wrestling company in the world which is great too.

In my mind the perfect Wrestling career should look like this..........

WWE
7 Time Tag Champion w/at least 4 to 6 month title reigns
3-4 Time U.S. Champion w/at least 3 to 5 month reigns
4-6 Time I.C. Champion w/at least 6 month reigns
4 Time World Champion w/at least 6-8 month reigns
4-5 Time WWE Champion w/at least 6-8 month reigns

TNA

The length of my reigns can be the same.

6-7 Time Tag Champ
6-10 Time X-Division Champ
7-8 Time Champ

I would have more reigns in the E cause they have two titles, but if I was in both company then I would want less Heavyweight reigns cause even if I was the best thing seen slice bread in the company I wouldn't wont to pass up Ric's number of reigns. That honor should be just for him as having that many reigns.

So you dont want much do you?

I would prefer to be a mid-carder in the WWE. While the schedule is alot less, there is nothing TNA can offer that would compare to the thrill of performing infront of 50,000 people at a Wrestlemania or even a Monday Night Raw.

Winning the title in TNA would be great and all, but it would be infront of 1000 fans if they are lucky, and would not have the same emotional impact. I would rather win the WWE Intercontinental or US titles than a TNA World Title, you cannot compare the 2 in that sense.

My earning potential in WWE would be far greater too, with much more merchandise being released, new WWE computer games every year, T-Shirts, DVDs etc, the WWE has a phenomenal marketing department and I would earn far more in WWE than in TNA, unless I was a major star.

I would dedicate myself to trying to climb the ladder in WWE and once I reached a certain level of stardom and if I became tired with the schedule and travelling, THEN TNA may become an option.

But you cannot tell me that there is a single wrestler in the world that would rather perform at the Impact Zone than at a Wrestlemania, the difference between the two is incredible.

I think I listed a fair number of championship to earn no matter what company I was in. You right there is nothing that would compare to wrestling at Wrestlemania, but if I was in TNA my intentions would be to help rise the value of the product the way Hogan did for the WWE years ago. Now If I was to accomplish this goal then the crowds we perform in front of would grow & there wouldn't be a desire or a need to want to be in the WWE cause we would be a comapny of almost equal value not to mention TNA has way more talent then WWE at this point. TNA creative team just suck balls!!!!

Now I have to disagree w/you about the IC/U.S. Titles in comparison to the TNA Heavyweight Title. The IC & U.S. titles don't mean shit these days in the WWE, the guys of today that carry those belts are not taken seriously do to WWE's creative team taking away the prestige of those belts. The TNA Title means more than the IC/U.S. Titles. The only way I would want to be IC/U.S. Champ over TNA Heavyweight champ is if WWE gave me a chance to bring the prestige back to those titles. Which means I would want to defend the belts at all the veiws including Mania, for the past few years the champ doesn't even have a match defending IC/U.S. titles there put in the Money IN The Bank match.

By doing this WWE is basically saying fuck you being a champ its all about the WWE/World Heavyweight title. Now they are the top belts in the company, but if I was already a champ why in the hell would I want to be in a #1 contenders match that is damn near impossible to win when I could be defending my already earned Championship at the biggest stage of them all. At the current state they are in I wouldn't want to be IC/U.S. champion over TNA Heavyweight champion.
