Good question. Honestly, I've known since I was in 6th or 7th grade, but I never wanted to admit it. I always thought maybe it was a phase or it's better if I try liking girls and be unhappy just so I would be "accepted" by society. But now I couldn't care less what other people think about my orientation and I'm actually open about it now. I don't flaunt it but if someone wants to know and they take the time to ask me personally then I have no problem telling them.
