WWE kind of sucked at these this year.
Battleground was the worst, and Royal Rumble was nearly as bad. Payback and Elimination Chamber don't belong here, they were two of the better shows this year...
I nominated The Royal Rumble, not because it was filled with bad matches. In fact D-Bry vs. Wyatt just missed my list for match of the year, and Orton vs. Cena wasn't terrible, but to leave Bryan out of the Rumble caused the crowd to shit all over the PPV. When you turn ~15k people against you over leaving one guy out, you dun goofed and deserve to be called the worst.
BFG '14 was incredibly disappointing. Only half the names from the original ad appeared on the card, it wasn't live (not like I care, but for some it's a big deal) and the matches ranged from "not bad" to "why did I even bother?".
If you compare it to BFG '13 or even Slamniversary (hell, even most of the ONO specials) and factor in all the excitement of the company's biggest show of the year, it really sucked major ass.
My god, Battleground was dull. I had to check to remember what the main event was.
