Women in the HOF

D-Man

Gone but never forgotten.
F4Wonline.com is reporting that with Brock Lesnar involved in WrestleMania 29, WWE might be looking to induct Sable.

Sable, former WWE diva, is Lesnar's wife and while F4Wonline.com reported they haven't got someone in WWE to confirm this, the company traditionally likes to induct a woman in each class.

Wasn't there lack of a woman inductee this year?

I didn't pay much attention to the HoF but I believe you're right.

Sable in the HoF is "meh". Only getting it because of Brock but she was among the better women, so...yeah.

Actually, I think that (just like 90% of Justin LaBar's reports) this is total horseshit.

Trish should go in before Sable.

Total bullshit. Sable was the quintessential, perfect women for that portion of the Attitude Era. If female members are being inducted in the order of their appearance, Sable should definitely go in first.

Fuck, Alundra Blayze should go in before Sable.

This I'll agree with. And she should go in as "Madusa."

Trish is one of the best female wrestlers of the last decade.

She'll probably go in under her own name.

Sable belongs in the HOF. People actually did tune in to see her and she got the company a lot of hype for her Playboy and such. She was the last segment on Raw more than once in 98.

You know when they did Diva of the Decade on Raw back in 03 and they gave it to Trish?

Now that was bullshit. Sable deserves to be in the HOF as much as any other wrestler of the AE. So does Chyna but I hear she's got a real stick up her ass these days.

Literally and figuratively. Chyna is continuing to blame a lot of her issues on what happened to her all those years ago. I think Vince tried to reach out to her but got shot down. But Sable was integral to the women's division along with Trish and Chyna, even if she left under acrimonious circumstances.

There was a lack of because there is only like 9 that actually deserve to go in... I think I briefly dicussed this in another thread.

How? Trish's career and significance was much more important than Chyna's. Chyna owed everything she ever gained in WWE to her relationship with HHH.

If Chyna deserves to go into the WWE HOF, so does Jeff Jarett. The two of them were about equal.

While they're at it, they should consider adding Ivory as well.

I don't know... the only thing that she was really known for was the angle with the Right to Censor. If people are adament about letting Goldust into the HOF, why should Ivory go in?

In 2003 Trish had been in the company about three years and was still pretty horrible in the ring. It would be like Kelly winning one today. She didn't get huge until 04/05.

And when she did get huge her career became much bigger and more important than Chyna's. I don't think she was ever "bad", green yes, but she remained unpushed until she won her first title.

As much as I would love to agree with you - god damn do I want to agree with you - he aggregated it from the Observer. So for once in a blue moon, if the report is bullshit, it's not his fault. His failure to follow basic grammatical rules, however, is completely his fault - either that or the public education system is to blame...

So why in the world should she have gotten Diva of the Decade? They both should be in, but Chyna was a bigger deal. At the end of the day, if you're fighting other Divas you don't mean much at the end of the day.

Er... because no diva in the span of 10 years [or ever] has draw as much attention, as much ratings, and as much excitement overall than Trish Stratus. Chyna facing men was a big deal... but she was shit at it. Jericho had to carry her deadweight in order to get a good match out of her; he did not have to do the same for Trish.

Sable. She did by a mile, to the point where she was often the final segment on Raw, not to mention all of the attention she brought in for Playboy. Her or Sunny. Trish was nowhere close to those two, not in 2003 at least.

Yeah... not in 2003. But in 2005 she had easily surpassed both. She was often involved in side stories with allot of popular male talent [where she made them look better than they made her], she was often given 5 to 10 minutes per show in order for her to cut promos or segments, and her matches were given 10 to 15 minutes on PPV with decent spots on every card... and Trish was just one woman. The entire division today doesn't even garner the same respect.

True but the award was handed out in 2003, which is even further proof that the awards the company gives out mean nothing anyway.

Yeah. My guess was that either Chyna and WWE did not have a good relationship at the time, or they were disappointed with her behavior.
