World Championship Wrestling (WCW) was an American professional wrestling promotion which existed from 1988 to 2001. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, it began as a regional promotion affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), named Jim Crockett Promotions until November 1988, when Ted Turner and his Turner Broadcasting purchased the promotion, renaming it "World Championship Wrestling". Turner, and later Time-Warner, owned WCW until 2001, when it was purchased by its former competitor, the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) (now World Wrestling Entertainment)

WCW lasted 23 years before going out of business and being bought by Vince McMahon's WWE.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) is a professional wrestling promotion founded by Jeff Jarrett and Jerry Jarrett. The company is active in the integrated-media industry, broadcasting its events on television and the Internet. TNA also gains revenue from live events, product licensing, and direct product sales. Dixie Carter is the President of the company and co-founder Jeff Jarrett is the Vice President.[7] In 2002

TNA has been running roughly about 9 years.

So my question is will TNA Wrestling's promotion last another 12 years as long as WCW's run or die before that?

If so, Why? If not, Why not?

I voted die LONG before WCW then thought about it some more. TNA might last a VERY, VERY long time. I can see them running shows in bingo halls and VFW's for the next 30 years with super old wrestlers on the shows and just being nostalgic. As far as being anything relative to the world, it will "die" long before WCW.

Just because a promotion lasts a certain number of years does not mean it has reached another's legacy. TNA has never come close to WCW's legacy and never will. They aren't even near ECW's legacy at this point. Look at the rich tradition of WCW. Even at the end of WCW, they produced a better product and had better ratings than TNA will ever achieve. It is a slap in the face to the tradition of World Championship Wrestling to even associate TNA with the legacy of WCW. The only reason the association is made is because a few wrestlers from the Nitro era are currently employed with TNA. Just because this is the case does not mean that TNA will ever be in the league of World Championship Wrestling.

There's no way TNA lasts as long as WCW...nor will they have even close to the Legacy WCW had. The reason's are obvious, too. As bad as the booking had been for WCW, it looks like Shakespeare compared to TNA booking. The wrestlers are of a lower quality, and the programming in general lacks in quality as well.

WCW sold out major venues for it's flagship show. We're talking Georgia Dome, United Center in Chicago, and other major venues around the country. TNA's not even close to selling out a Guard Armory.

At the rate TNA's going, I'll give this company a year before they're out of business or turned into another company that doesn't suck.

The only reason TNA would go out of bussiness would be because they are losing money. Or if TNA's ratings were so poor that iMPACT! was cancelled by Spike. We don't know TNA's financal situation because they are a privately run company. And their ratings are above average for all Spike's programes. Also just because a company, lasts longer than another. Dosen't mean that company outlasts the others legacy.
