Why were the wrestlers so passionate at the draft?

Prof Ulti at work as usual....
I mean come on WWE has really become unrealistic now (Like it wasn't ever!). Yesterday the wrestlers wrestling in the inter-brand matches to win a draft pick for their brand was like as if their lives depended on it. Come on it doesn't make any sense. i.e. when Edge was wrestling in the battle royal, wouldn't it make sense for him to eliminate himself pusrposely so that more competition doesn't come on SD! for the title? I mean think of it logically, winning a draft pick will obviously mean more competition won't it? So why didn't some of the heel wrestlers show some of this?

They were passionate because its a new opportunity for them to go toe to toe with people they may have never faced before. Also, winning means getting into the good books of your GM, which in turn can mean title shots, which in turn again can potentially mean cash and main-eventing PPV's

In my opinion

True if you win more competition comes to your brand, but if you lose you have the possibility of leaving your show. And if you are the top talent like Edge, at that point Triple H, Big Show, Matt Hardy and MVP were all drafted to Raw, why would you want to risk being taken away from the chance at being the top guy on your show. Sure you run the risk of adding more talent, but theoretically the pick you win could also be someone like Noble or Tyson Kidd or someone like that. If we are to "believe" that the draft is random then you have to take that in to consideration when asking why you would want to win a pick.

Cody hit the nail on the head. Even if you're a heel who doesn't want competition it's more of a benefit to you to win the match. Sure, if you win you might bring one or two new challengers to your brand. But in all three years since they started the "random" draft based on matches someone has lost a match and been drafted as a direct result. Getting one new challenger is one thing but being thrown into a completely new roster with a bunch of guys you've never faced before is a much more daunting task.

because the heels are hopeing for some renforcements, i notice that when edge won and Y2J came out. now ecw on the other hand, should lose on purpose because, logical, they lost skinny miz and fucken gained a russian monster. if i was a wrestler i would just say "hey, we're losers anyway, y have someone make us look worst" hhaahaha

The WWE Draft is the chance that people get in order to get better people on their brand. Raw may be the flagship show, but is only nicknamed the A-show. When superstars from Smackdown or ECW win matches to get their brand a draft pick, they react positively because they get a chance to get someone from the so-called A-show and put it onto their brand. In the Kane vs. The Brian Kendrick match after Kane won a draft pick for Raw... he didn't seem to have much of a reaction. After he found out his Raw pick was Big Show, if you looked on his face, he seemed like he was thinking, ''Man, I face this guy too much, I wanted someone new... oh well. Now, Big Show was probably thinking, ''YES!! I get to go to my Vickie... I'm gonna be a World Champion. Oh, hey Kane! Didn't we team before?''

If I was on Smackdown or ECW, I would fight a match for a draft pick like it was my last. I would want as many people from Raw as possible and make my show the new A-show, though Raw would always be considered as it.

I personally think it's just to represent their brand. Remember earlier in the show where Swagger and Cena were talking, Swagger said he was going to pick up the win for HIS brand and score two draft picks. I don't know, it's just my opinion.

Its a thing to get feud possibilities like if Jericho win a belt from someone and then after you give an interview to Edge who is sayin that Jericho was able to get victorious cause of Him winning the Battle Royal that night and Edge can go on like requesting a shot to the belt or so,

I think it was Umaga who had told the story of when him and Orton were watching the backstage TVs when HHH got drafted to Smackdown. Orton turned to Umaga and said, "Now you have to deal with him." If I was a wrestler, I would want to go anywhere BUT HHH's brand.

If I was the Miz, I probably would have had mixed feelings about moving. On one hand, you are leaving, probably, a great friend who you spend most, if not, all of your time with in and out of the ring. On the other hand, you get more exposure and, hopefully, more opportunities moving to RAW.
