Which wrestler yet to compete in a Hell in a Cell match deserves a chance?

Dark Match Winner
We have seen the likes of Triple H, Undertaker, Randy Orton time and again compete in Hell in a Cell matches.

You are all invited to discuss which wrestler who has yet to compete in a hell in a cell match deserves a chance and hence or otherwise provide reasons why. Moreover, you can base reasons on past matches such as the Elimination Chamber, Money in the Bank, TLC matches or any other type of match. For example one may deduce that Rey Mysterio could do well in Hell in a Cell as he performed numerous high manouvers from climbing the Elimination Chamber, hence could do a similar job with a decent opponent in the Cell.

First person that kinda comes to mind. Not because he has been in any high profile match that is even remotely worthy of being featured in a Hell in a Cell match. But simply because it would make sense to put him in one. He seems like a guy that could thrive in there. As well as deal some heavy bashings. The guy I'm referring to is Sheamus.

He's currently the champion. If he holds that championship long enough. He could easily enter as champion in the Hell in a Cell. Or he could end up being the challenger. Sheamus is after all scheduled to fight Triple H upon a return. Who's to say there won't be a Sheamus vs Triple H WWE championship Hell in a Cell match.

Also I could eventually see Wade Barrett as well as Jack Swagger entering a Hell in a Cell match. They're both rising stars. The future of the company if you will. Wade more than Jack perhaps. But nonetheless they're both talents that could easily be in a Hell in a Cell match for this year's Pay Per View, or next years.

Wade has been improving drastically. And I don't know whether he will be champion or anything. But I could definitely see John Cena vs Wade Barrett Hell in a Cell just for the sake of building Wade even more after what I could imagine being a drastic hell-bend feud that would have no other than Hell in a Cell as the final solution.

The same goes for Jack Swagger. Who could - If WWE goes that way, be the attacker of The Undertaker. If so, then it's obvious that Jack Swagger will be going against The Undertaker in some manner. Or Kane for that sake. Either one would work very well.

I would Like to see Kofi Kingston appear in hitc. He's a good high flyer and I think he would pull off some cool spots. Or also Drew Mcintyre to really establish him as "the chosen One". Have him beat the undertaker in hell in a cell. Plus I'd love to see him get his ass kicked too!!!:guitar:

Evan Bourne of course. Air-Bourne from top of a cell anyone?

that would be epic but i agree the person i would like to see in a HIAC match would be sheamus i think it would be a hell of a match especially against hhh since thats one of the matches he rarely ever loses in

Know what match they never had and should sometime soon before it is too late... Triple H vs. Undertaker in a Hell In A Cell, i never happend, well I mean they were in the Armagedon Hell In The Cell but I'm talking One on One. And with both Undertaker and Triple H almost at the end of there careers it may never happen,

Evan Bourne of course. Air-Bourne from top of a cell anyone?

i couldn't have said it better myself. The guy started getting a push with Cena, unfortunatley that was short lived. I wouldn't mind seeing a Bourne/Kingston HIAC in the coming months. don't know how it would work out really, maybe US title match

Well, before I talk about current stars, some of WWE's past stars I would have liked to have seen in Hell in a Cell are Jeff Hardy, Rob Van Dam, and Sabu. Jeff Hardy would have utilized Hell in a Cell in some sick ways and possibly would have done stuff on the top of Hell in a Cell that would have been cool. Rob Van Dam could have done stuff off of the inside of Hell in a Cell and would have found some innovative ways to entertain the fans. Sabu... do I really need to explain this? Sabu inside Hell in a Cell? I know it would be a spotfest, but that's what a lot of Hell in a Cells have been in the past.

As far as current WWE Superstars go, I would have to say wrestlers like Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio would be interesting since they are both smaller wrestlers who could utilize a cage in ways other simply cannot due to their size. Another wrestler that I would like to see in Hell in a Cell that hasn't been in one yet is Christian. I think Captain Charisma would perform quite admirably in the match and given the right opponent could create an "Instant Classic."

Yeah, Kofi and Bourne would be great for all the cool high spots but I could never picture either of them participating in a HIAC match anytime soon.

I have to agree with Ferbie here and say the ol' bucket of white paint, Sheamus Williams (horrible Sherwin Williams goof I know). Logistically it makes the most sense with HHH being off a couple more months, with Hunter coming back for his revenge on Sheamus at the HIAC ppv. Of course H would win, but if booked properly it could be a huge success for Sheamus and gain more credibility in the fans eyes. I wasn't a fan of his at the beginning but I like what they are doing with Sheamus' character, it is definitely starting to take off now.

Evan Bourne of course. Air-Bourne from top of a cell anyone?

that would be difficult seeing as where he would be landing...and to stop you!, did you say top of the cell??

We haven't see that since 2002!! So why would it happen now???

I would like to see Sheamus in a cell, I think he would be a real warrior in that cell...Hopefully this year!!

CM Punk is the first name that comes to mind for me. The current incarnation of his character would suit well inside the cell especially against Undertaker.

john morrison, hands down, the guy is so athletic, i'd love to see what he would do in something like that, if shelton B was still here i'd want him as well so bad

When It comes to HITC.. Im going to go with a TAG TEAM MATCH.. I would love to see The The Hart Dynasty vs The Usos for the Tag Team Belts. Now that would be a great match I think.. Maybe the fued between them will last long enough to see them in a HITC match....

Jeff Hardy vs. RVD vs. AJ Styles vs. Anderson vs. Jarrett vs. Flair vs. Hogan would be an epic falls count anywhere-HIAC. I could just see, swanton off the HIAC onto Hogan and Flair who are laying side by side on an announce table, Anderson scoring the pin on Jarrett, Aj on RVD, Jeff on Hogan and Flair(he lay on topeth)--1.2.3. LMAO

Jeff Hardy is number one on my list, and I think a worthy opponent for him in that match would be CM Punk even though he's been in one. Would be awesome.

Drew McIntyre.....

As far as a character goes, Hell In A Cell would be great step for his character. See him do that slow walk towards the Cell just seems cool.

Evan Bourne from a match prespective would just be amazing to see, and I would worry for the guys health. Guy moves like a spider in there. :lmao: He could probably crawl up the inside of the cage, crawl across the ceiling and drop down on a guy.

I would love to see Sheamus and Evan Bourne in the HIAC. Sheamus likes to inflict pain and is violent so why not stick him in the cell. Sheamus would do great there, he could use the cell to inflict pain on opponents. Evan Bourne would fly around the cell and it would be fun to watch. He would be able to pull off the SSP off the top of the cell, and that would be awesome.

CM Punk is the first name that comes to mind for me. The current incarnation of his character would suit well inside the cell especially against Undertaker.

This guy already fought The Undertaker in HIAC last year. I know the match was very low as per their standards but this thread is about someone you would like to see in HIAC match.

In my view I HIAC match has lost his uniqueness since PG era and no blood policy starts. Without it does not seems to be like Hell In A Cell. Back to your thread. I always wanted to see Kurt Angle competing in a Hell In A Cell. He alreaady competed once in 1999 but that was a 6man match so It did not allow him to show his skills. Whae he started feuding with HBK in 2005 I was hoping to see them tgether in HIAC but WWE dropped the ball on that one. Since Kurt is no longer in wwe so from current roster I want to see Rey Mysterio going in a Cell against Kofi. That would be a one hell of a match i know.

I know this is kind of outside the realm of possible answers here, but it's been something I've been thinking about for a long time. Does WWE actually own the rights to the Hell in a Cell concept? Because there are a dozen or more guys in TNA that I would love to see compete in Hell in the Cell, except that I know it's most likely never going to happen. I assume there is a legal reason why TNA can't use the Cell, other than they just don't want to look like they're stealing idea from the E... Maybe not. Wouldn't an Armageddon HITC between AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Abyss, Kurt Angle, Mr. Anderson, and Jeff Hardy just be pure win? Put I digress...on to actual possibilities...

Sheamus and Wade Barrett would be really cool to see in the Cell. They're size and build means they can use the cage to their advantage more than most on the roster. Jack Swagger is also one that I wouldn't mind seeing in a match of that caliber. Unfortunately, the HITC really doesn't matter anymore, because the brutality of the original match is almost completely gone. The HITC PPV was just a bunch of matches that might as well have taken place without the cage around them. I mean, are you really going to stop the most brutal match in history because somebody's busted open. It's just not nearly as cool as it used to be. Brock Lesnar and Undertaker beat each other to a dripping bloody pulp in their cell match, and it will go down in history as one of the most brutal WWE matches of all time. That's pretty much what MAKES that match, and I really don't see a point to it without the brutality. Sure, Evan Bourne doing the Air-Bourne off the Cell would be the coolest thing I've ever seen, but it's never going to happen. I mean, it shouldn't because if he even messed up a little he'd be dead. But they're not even crazy enough to let him try it. Hell in the Cell is dead. It's more like Purgatory in the Cell...

I kinda think that The Hell In A Cell match is kind of point less now. I mean it was meant to be a violent match where to people beat the hell out of each other and smear blood every where. Now being TV- PG, they can't be as brutal as they used to be, not allowed to use weapons as much or bust each other open the key elements to a good HIAC match are gone so whats the point.

CM Punk is the first name that comes to mind for me. The current incarnation of his character would suit well inside the cell especially against Undertaker.
CM Punk was in a HIAC match vs. the UnderTaker at lazt year's Hell IN A Cell PPV

Anyways, as far as the question goes, I would have to go with Ferbian's choice and say the Celtic Warrior, the Human Jar o' Mayonaise, Sheamus. He would seem like he's so ruthless in there that he could put on a good HIAC match.

I also wouldn't mind seeing a Kofi Kingston vs. Evan Bourne. THey would find ways to utilize the cell for great high-flying spots.

I don't think you quite grasp the concept of the Hell in A Cell. You see, the HIAC gimmick is supposed to be the bloodiest, harshest, most brutal gimmick in all of sport entertainment. The Devil's Playground has seen some of the best yet most horrific matches in all of WWE. Indeed, HHH is oft heard saying that it ends people careers, as it did with referee Tim White. Now I'm not going to keep quoting HHH and keep typing out WWE's marketing spiel but you get the idea. The main point I'm trying to communicate to you, and one that many people voiced over the introduction of a HIAC PPV, is that the idea was bred as a result of rivalry. The Hell In A Cell is resorted to because there is not other option to contain these two men other than inside a cell where you can't escape until you pin your opponent 1-2-3. The Cell is indeed a character in itself causing damage, but the main focus is the rivalry, NOT the spectacle.

So in response to your thread question, the problem I have with it is that you don't just throw someone in a cell because they deserve to have a great match that people remember. That is how you end up with shit Hell In A Cell matches. Sheamus or Barrett or Kingston, whoever, they don't get put in to the cell in order to sell themselves. Superstars are put into the Cell in order to sell the Cage. It is the quality of the superstars that make the matches, not the other way around. What you need to realise, is that the greatest HIAC matches of all time, whether you rank them as Shawn vs Taker or HHH vs Batista or Lesnar vs Taker, were great because the wrestlers were great. Bossman vs Taker was shit because a wrestler in it was rubbish. Guess who. In any case, the wrestlers weren't put into the cell and automatically made better. The Cage didn't magically improve their skills.

So who deserves to go in the cage? Someone who is in a long, meaningful feud who could make it work, not the rookie who needs a big match to get himself over.

The first person that came to my mind was Rey Mysterio. Mysterio can excel in basically any type of match against any opponent. However, there's something about Rey Mysterio inside a Hell in a Cell that makes me believe we would see very special things. Perhaps it's because I've seen some of his work in Steel Cages and Elimination Chambers, but just saying "Rey Mysterio" and "Hell in a Cell" in the same sentence has a very nice ring to it.

Also... I can see a lot of today's younger stars in Hell in a Cell matches in the future. Guys like Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, The Miz, and others... I can definitely see in Hell in a Cell matches. I say this because all 3 of them, same with many other young stars have a certain mean streak inside. With a cell in their surroundings, I'd think that they could really do some serious damage and make us forget WWE is PG.
