Which Brand Has Done The Best This Year?

Calderownz

Brilliant Idiot
TNA? WWE? ROH?

Which brand has had the most growth? Entertained you the most? Done better in regard to last year? So on a so forth?

I'm personally goin to say TNA. I'm not the biggest TNA fan by any means, I just like some of the things that TNA currently offers. Semi-interesting moments in the main event, a LIIITTLE more focus on the overall picture, some fresh faces, great tag team wrestling, the knockout division and a improving X Division.

Just my take.

What about you guys?

TNA has indeed impressed me the most.

I never thought I would see tag team matches as good as the ones the Guns and Beer Money put on ever again in pro wrestling. TNA proved me wrong and they proved they have the tag teams to do it.

The Anderson/Angle Lockdown match was also a classic. I thought the key angle was stupid and the match wouldn't live up but it looks like TNA suprised me.

I also never thought TNA would have the likes of Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Mr. Anderson, Jeff Hardy, Brian Kendrick, Ric Flair, Jimmy Hart, Orlando Jordan, Shannon Moore, and Mckie James would all come to TNA in the same year.

TNA continues to suprise me with there unpredictability as WWE does not.

It has to be TNA for me. As a fan of both the WWE and TNA I would have to say that even though the rating don't say it, TNA has been putting out the best product the last few months. They don't mind surprising the hell out of people, Jeff Hardy heel turn for one, and their tag team division is great.

I'm finding that the WWE has been in a rut for awhile now and Impact is much more entertaining to watch. TNA used to be a shitfest, but they're learning from their mistakes and putting on a good show for the fans. Now if we could only mute the Impact Zone fans when they start chanting, it would be perfect.

This should be a decent thread as long as WWE fans don't bash TNA fans and vice versa. Topics like these usually lead to such.

Which brand has had the most growth?

I can't speak for Ring Of Honor, because I do not check out ROH or even show interested in their product. The two wrestling shows in my mind are TNA and WWE, and that's it. It's not a diss, it's just keeping with my interests.

Now these 2 have been given quite a bit of growth this year. WWE recieved the group known as Nexus, brought back indy favorite Daniel Bryan, and Bret Hart returned for a brief stint. TNA gathered a slew of experienced superstars and gathered them in stables such as E.V. 2, Fortune (an obvious play with the popular "Four Horseman" stable of old), and the recently dubbed "Immortals" that have recently taken control of the product itself.

It's pretty easy to say TNA has received the most growth since 2009. Recent additions include but aren't limited to the Jersey Couple Robbie E. and Cookie, the "obsessed fan" Winter, and lest we forget Jeff Hardy.

Entertained you the most?

WWE, altered to the state of PG, has been more comical than it's serious tone from years ago. Not the most popular of changes or so the IWC community would mention now and then. But it still has been entertaining and is even moreso now that I can let my sisters and other family members watch with me without fear of a diva acting like a **** or a character supposedly bleeding everywhere.

TNA has entertained me on the grounds of actually wrestling. It's why I enjoy watching Knockouts far more than Divas, and have been very appraising of the X Division. I do not watch TNA for the storylines because it doesn't hold my interest as much as the matches in the ring. Maybe I don't like most of their acting skills, or I just don't feel it. Whatever the case is a television show should be entertaining on all levels and should have a running angle that I can really get behind. It's why I am such a fan of Sons Of Anarchy and The Walking Dead. I don't watch SOA because I like how they handle themselves on their bikes. I like the creative genius behind the characters.

So I have to give this to WWE. No I do not particularly enjoy the "Immortals" storyline going on in TNA. I would rather watch Santino make fun of Sheamus.

Done better in regard to last year? So on a so forth?

In regards to last year, I have to say they have both raised the bar from what they previously held. TNA are monsters when it comes to stables. WWE are monsters when it comes to individuals. I can get behind the Horseman-like combination of Styles, Beer Money, Flair, etc as much as I can for the continuing conflict between Wade Barret and David Otunga. They have both done fairly well in my opinion compared to 2009 so it would be hard for me to have a clear victor here.

I will say TNA has improved the most with the travelling, the push of fresher talent, and the bold move of making their biggest fan favorite the mega heel of the company.

My choice is TNA. I chose TNA for a couple of simple reason , that being TNA is the only product that has most of my favourite wrestlers featured on the same show with the likes of Morgan, Styles, Beer Money and many more.

TNA keeps me interested in their product much more than Raw and Smackdown can with their fortune storyline. TNA has better wrestling matches then any other company in the world with Angle/Anderson Angle/Hardy A.J Styles/ Dreamer are just to name a few.

Anyone who knows anything about my wrestling prefences knows that I'm generally drawn to smaller promotions. I still support ROH fully and completely, however, the WWE has been hands down the best promotion this year.

I may be a little partial to whatever company Bryan Danielson works for and the fact that he has received one hell of a push from the WWE has certainly gotten my attention, but overall the WWE has produced the best overall product. They have given us the hottest storyline to hit the wrestling business in over a decade with the emergence of Nexus and they have finally begun developing and pushing main event talent for the future (Sheamus rocks my world). RAW has been a consistantly solid show week after week and it has had a very good balance of entertainment and actual wrestling.

I've never been able to watch ROH so I can't give any sort of opinion on it.

Between TNA and WWE this year, WWE hands down has been the better promotion in my opinion. Overall, the biggest improvement to the WWE has been to Raw I think. Last year, it was bogged down with so much silliness and comedy skits that it was downright unwatchable at times. More often than not, especially the last 6 months of 09, actual wrestling and meaningful promos were sacrificed for Vince's love of corny comedy and there was loads of it. In 2010, Raw has really done away with nearly all the silliness. Some of it does pop up every so often, but it's not very frequent and, sometimes, it actually turns out to be funny. I think that SmackDown! has continued to operate very well with its usual formula of strong wrestling coupled with one or two strong promo segments while hyping its portion of a ppv. I also have to give the WWE credit for the overall concept of NXT. It wasn't perfect and there were times it did make me roll my eyes, but I did enjoy the first two seasons of the show. The WWE was able to successfully use the first two seasons to get wrestlers over that were almost complete unknowns. I think that the WWE has also done well this year with pushing and/or building young talent. Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Nexus, Drew McIntyre, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, Bryan Danielson, The Miz, Alberto Del Rio and a few others have made big impressions on me and have done well.

As far as TNA goes, I think that this year has been the worst in the 4 years that I've been watching it. The Hogan-Bischoff Era is a flop, there's just no other way to say it. Dixie Carter brought Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff into TNA for the purpose of getting TNA over and they've failed. Watching Abyss be featured so prominently, especially during the first half of this year, was downright painful at times and Hulk Hogan was the virtual center of TNA for much of that same time period. EV2.0 has been an absolute flop filled with has-beens and never-wases that I didn't care about 15 years ago and I don't care about now. Fortune is something that had promise but a long, boring and extremely drawn out feud with EV2.0 has bogged them down a lot in my eyes. The X-Division is a joke as has been the Knockout Division for quite a while now with titles from both divisions worth little at this point. As of right now, TNA is doing yet another nWo-themed power struggle/takeover storyline. They've done this exact same type of angle multiple times and I'm just completely bored to death with it. The only thing that TNA has, generally speaking, that's been worth a damn for the last six months has been its tag team scene. I like TNA's tag team scene in general and I think it's considerably better than the WWE's at this point and it has been for a while to be honest. TNA does also, generally speaking, have more huge names on their roster right now than WWE but it isn't as though those big names have accomplished all that much. Hogan & Bischoff were brought in as were some of Hogan's flunkies and the flunkies didn't last long, AJ Styles was basically pushed aside for RVD in the hopes that RVD could jack things up and it didn't work, so now it's Jeff Hardy's turn.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing TNA fans or anything like that. If you prefer TNA, more power to you. Quality is always subjective. And, in my opinion, quality is not a term that I would use to describe TNA Wrestling in 2010.

TNA has easily grown most with all the new faces, new fans(including me) and some awesome matches. It's had it's highs and it's lows.(Turning Point was definately a low)At the end of the day, everyone on this forum knows TNA is better than WWE. It has better tag teams, better knockouts/divas and an X Division.

Ironically.... Raw, Smackdown, and Impact all get a vote in three separate categories. TNA has grown the most in the last 12 months. Smackdown has entertained me the most. In comparison of "now" to a year ago, Raw has changed for the better the most. A year ago TNA had not gone through the huge change and large wave of roster additions yet. Raw was still plagued by horrible segments and guest hosts that didn't belong. Smackdown was "must see" for me at the time. Now? TNA has a ton of new things going for them. Raw is doing MUCH better with the Nexus/Cena angle and the guests not taking up too much tv time anymore. Smackdown has consistently entertained me every single weekend for the past 12 months though. So, the vote in the end honestly goes to Smackdown because it never failed to entertain me. However, all three shows have had a great year in 2010.
